The store has been great every time! The irrigation install side wasn’t as good. As many installers in town hate meeting customers and want to do the quotes by themselves they showed up for the quote at a different time than planned “as they were in the area”. Without the customer not being there they tested water flow and gave me a very expensive quote because of low water flow and pressure. Yes it was extra low because dishwasher and washing machine was running but also I had already scheduled a dedicated line install with a plumber to maximize flow. Basically communication with the customer is what was lacking.

I Must say, a company that provides the level of customer service that is provided by Lyons Landscaping is really difficult to find these days. I am a man of over 30 Years experience in Customer service & I must give Major Kudos to Lyons Landscaping and their staff. I bought a fountain off of Lyon Landscaping when I was in town last year about this time, and the ever changing selection of garden, Water Fountains, and accessories of all sort was fantastic. I purchased a Buddha Fountain for my Wife for Mothers Day, It still makes her smile everyday. When I came back to town this year on business I stopped in again to see what wonderful and new items are available this year. I must say the facility is looking crisp, clean, organized and refreshed, and the selection of Mothers day gifts, Fountains and oh so many other items was STELLAR. 5 GREAT BIG STARS - CUSTOMER SERVICE NEXT TO NONE. RECOMMENDED TO ALL!!!!!!

Sold me a bag of the incorrect type of small stones for around my pond and inside small fountain. They didn't have the samples in the store. When I went to bulk area, guy was in big hurry as it was pouring rain. When he loaded the small bag I questioned the size and colour of the stones as they were covered in mud and dirt. He said just wash them off. Unable to get a refund due to Covid. Very disappointed, waste of money.

Fantastic garden centre! I love that they have a an assortment of sizes and prices in the same plants so you can choose for your budget or have a big showy garden off the bat. From Peonies to hostas and shrubs to trees! All the plants I have bought have flourished and have keep coming back stronger every year. I bought 2 Japanese Maples as gifts for my husband, and they were a hit! I have also bought tons of decorative rock garden cover, and stepping stones that are the finishing touches to my garden. All the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Definitely stop by and have a wander through their big selection of beautiful plants and garden accessories!

Just when i don't think Lyons will have what i am looking for either there it is or the staff are ready and willing to find it and get it in in record time. Ive been getting all my gardening needs there for years, i used to hear rumors lyons was "expensive" but they are no differently priced then Anywhere else ive been. Add in how inexpensive and quickly accessable their bulk items are. I can drive in and be gone within 5 minutes with my truck full of soil for dollars. Keep up The good work!

Engaged Lyons to give us ideas and a quote for landscaping our back yard and existing retaining wall. In addition we asked them to give us a quote to incorporate a parking space in our front yard. All to include xeriscaping they did a site visit but provided nothing else. Contacted them 3 or 4 times. No response. I think Aberdeen is too much for them. Do not recommend. .

Enter Colin Lyons and Lyons Landscaping. When we first met Colin, my wife and I both liked him immediately. As the three of us viewed our backyard and discussed various landscaping strategies, we soon grew to trust Colin and to respect his integrity. He asked us many questions in an effort to understand precisely what landscaping goals we wished to achieve. After a thorough discussion , Colin presented a number of options to consider, each offering its own advantages over the others. Although we felt confidence in Colin, the actual work is performed by others and we felt apprehensive whether or not Lyon’s landscaping crew would perform up to our expectations. I’m a fussy guy, a perfectionist. Believe me, Lyon’s crew performed to a level I’ve seldom experienced. These guys were absolutely terrific! Their attention to detail was very impressive. Their desire truly was basically one thing, to ensure my wife and I would be completely happy with their efforts and the final result. And, we are!

Front and back yard finally done!!! We can’t stop looking at our yard. It is so pretty. Rob and crew (Shawn, Brad) were amazing. Rob was so professional and took the time to go over everything with us, giving great suggestions. He knew exactly what we wanted when we asked for a drainage pit and how it tied in with our rain barrel. He even offered to go find us the rock we wanted if we weren’t happy with what Lyons had. Ask for Rob and his gang! Thank you to Brent, our project manager, who helped us with tree selection and made sure we were happy with the install. Even though our job was small, Brent said, “Every job is important.” Greg and Keenan know sprinklers! Greg explains everything and will entertain you with endless stories. Thank you to Keenan who gave me a crash course on sprinkler physics at 7:30am! Now I know all about flow and pressure. It is clear they all take pride in their work. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Good selection and prices are decent. They also have frequent sales. However, I've been burned twice by their bulk products. Last year I bought some soil from them to compliment my rock wall garden and other bedding areas. Within a few days and some rain I had species of invasive weeds I had never seen in my gardens take over. I tried pulling them and using herbicides to no avail. Luckily I moved and it's someone else's problem now. The second time I was burned was recently. I bought some bedding sand to put under some pavers. There was tons of pea sized gravel in the yard I purchased. So much gravel that it's has made the layer I put down unstable underneath my pavers so they shift. The bedding sand I purchased the day after from art knaps was 1$ more expensive but much higher quality (what bedding sand should be).

No support to answer my question on the phone. Didn’t even bother to ask to get my question answered. Told me she didn’t know, and there was no one there to help and I should come and ask. When I finally went in I wasted my time and gas on my lunch break only to be told they wouldn’t load mulch onto a tarp, only in bags at double the price. Apparently I need to own a truck. So much for helpful service, there was no help from start to finish and I left feeling like no one could care less.

Worked for them for a whole season and was blown away at the lack of professionalism from management towards their workers. When the season was finished they ignored all my phone calls,emails and texts about current lack of hours, bonuses and future work. Very disheartening considering when they hired myself they seemed on the surface like they knew what they were doing. I can only offer advice to anyone who is looking to work for them is to find work elsewhere unless you are desperate.

Having been on holidays during what was a week of lots of snow and cold we came back to my daughters car buried and not able to dig it out. Placed a call to Lyons requesting a truck with a plough to come by anytime in the next few days. To my surprise they were there within two hours and had totally dug out here car and also did another spot for my other daughter car!!! What great service !! We had our landscaping done by Lyons after building a home in Blind Bay BC in 2015/16. For the most part, we were fairly please, but some issues arose during and after the job was finished. The largest issue was the way our irrigation system was set up. It is not configured correctly, and now, we are told that it is next to impossible to correct. Secondly, the designer at the time was quite inexperienced and didn't select great choices for our yard. Fast forward to 2019, when over the winter, we had some damage to our cedars due to wildlife in the area. We decided to have all our cedars replaced as esthetically they didn't look good. The job was scheduled for the spring of 2020. A crew of 2 came out for this job, replacing 14 cedar trees. Once finished, it wasn't long after the install, that we noticed all the cedars were showing signs of ill health. We contacted Lyons and they said it sounded like the cedars weren't getting enough water, (which was never a problem with the previous cedars on the same water cycle) hence they sent an irrigation specialist out. His disclaimer, he knew nothing about plants, just irrigation. He recommended that the water to the cedars be increased significantly. This posed a problem with our flower pots, as they are on the same zone as the cedars (reference to our previous comment on the irriation being incorrectly set up). We had to manually monitor the pots, so the flowers would not drown. The increase in water to the cedars was obviously not the solution, because by the fall, most of the cedars were dead. We had a Lyons employee come out in the fall 2020 to assess the situation. He agreed that all the cedars needed to be replaced and we were put in the queue for Spring 2021. We paid extra money to get larger cedars, as the ones that were put in the spring were quite small. A large crew was sent out this May 2021 and the job commenced. After a full day, all the cedars at the back were in place. We were informed that the crew last year, left the existing landscaping fabric in place as well as adding more fabric (three layers to be exact). This resulted in the trees being suffocated, which is what caused their demise, NOT lack of water. They finished up the back job on the first day, and without any notice or comment as to when they would return. They left the 5 front cedars on the ground in the front yard. We contacted Lyons again, inquiring about when they would return. We were told that the front cedars would not be put in by them, as the existing ones weren't "dead" enough. We reinforced the fact that they were in fact dying and that we were guaranteed that they "all" would be replcaced. We also said that if they were installed correctly in the first place, this wouldn't be happening. A crew of two came out the next day and replaced the cedars. Both of the guys said that the cedars were "on their way out" and that the previous installers didn't remove the burlap around the root ball. Wow! Again the two left without a word and when we inspected the job, they had trampled 2 existing plants without so much as a word. As well, Michael (the "head" of the job, his words) assured us that he staked all the trees at the back, which after checking he hadn't . He told us he didn't do the front ones becasue he didn't have enough wire...fair enough, but why lie about the back? Again, I sent an email to the owner, Colin Lyons and told him about our issues with the recent install. We clearly stated that we were not looking for ANY finacial compensation, but thought he should know about our experience. We also said that rather than posting a review on social media, we preferred to contact him directly. After a couple weeks, he finally emailed us back saying he was away, and that he would forward this to someone else. A month has past and NOTHING, not a word! Seriously, if you have no intention of getting back to someone, why say it! If you decide to use Lyons, be prepared to follow them around to make sure things are done properly. We are NOT impressed!!!

Use with vigilance to the paperwork, an eye to the details of hourly rate and work completed compared to the contract one sets up before work begins so there's no confusion later. Lyons does good landscaping, but needs work on the admin side of things. My family had a problem with the billing which has now been satisfactorily resolved by the CEO in person, and the CFO cut a proper refund cheque today 7/09/2019 delivering it in person. Very happy they looked into the issue despite it taking 3 months to resolve. 3 of 5 stars rating up from a 0, as there's always improvement that can be done.

My wife and I had Lyons redo our back yard last year and included underground irrigation. The total cost of work was the better part of $15000. There were mistakes made but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The Irrigation that I mentioned, I noticed a broken sprinkler head on Friday May 22nd/2020 Which may be a warranty issue. I called on Saturday about getting someone to repair it and was asked to call Monday to have that scheduled. I called 2 times on Monday, spoke with a manager after being bounced from department to department, when he asked to send me back to the scheduling secretary, I advised him that I had already been bounced around, he said he would fill out the paperwork even though it was not his job. He advised that I would get a call that afternoon, I asked to have them call after 330 as I was in meetings until then. No call, called again on Tuesday, started to complain and was put through to Nick(I believe that was his name) again, he stated that I was in the queue, I asked if that was for a phone call, he stated "no" my address was given to the irrigation guys to stop by and fix the issue that day or the next day. I advised that I was no longer working from home as of Wednesday. He assured me that he would message the irrigation guy to come and do the repair ASAP that day and to expect a call that afternoon. I received nothing, no call and no repair. Is it so much to ask for a phone call? Even if you can't make it, its better informing the customer of that then leave them wondering and having to take time out of the next work day to find out what is going on again! Not sure if I can recommend Lyons after initial problems last year and now poor customer service this year. **UPDATE**The day they were supposed to do the repair they came out after 5pm. Greg the irrigation guy was amazing! extremely friendly and knowledgeable in all things irrigation. Quick five minute fix and actually went through my system with me to make sure everything was working to my satisfaction. If calling for irrigation work, ask for Greg!

The first project was in 1998 and the paver bricks continue to maintain their original levels which shows the quality of the work - 20 years later. Did the landscaping at our place a couple years back, irrigation system doesnt work properly anymore, tap they installed still leaks to this day even after multiple attempts to fix, no customer service, cant get a hold of anyone and just told to leave a message, water keeps pooling in certain areas. The initial work they did was great but those were the landscapers who i commend but before and after that its like having your teeth pulled trying to get anyone to provide any level of service. Over priced for what they provide.

Best garden store in town, if you're willing to fork out the $$$. The gift merchandise inside is a bit tacky but might appeal to boomers or rednecks. The plants are far more healthy than plants you [might] find at Home Depot or at any other big box store, but the prices are usually double what you find elsewhere. Pots are ridiculously expensive, even the plastic kinds. Best selection of quirky garden decor if you're looking to get a gift for someone. Outside staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The cashiers are a bit ignorant about what's happening around the store. The customer service desk staff has been short with me 3 out of the 4 times I've needed their assistance. Overall, though, I really like shopping here when I go.

An owner that not only cares about his customers, but also his employees. A happy employee is not only a reflection of their company, but also a more productive one, and a pleasure to deal with. The professional, friendly, hard working attitude in building my wall at the front of my house in preparation for landscaping, was first class in every way. Yeah read all the reviews saw the tv ads thought this was the company to go with but after initial contact no quote or further communication for weeks. So maybe they do good work I wouldn't know despite leaving phone message I haven't even had the courtesy of a call back. Maybe a good place to get my Christmas tree but think I'll go some place else next December.

I'm a person that likes things done right. I like to do things myself because I like to think my way through the project so there is no time delay, its done well, and i don't have to fuss around with other people who have their opinions and slow my vision down. I have completed enough builds working in Kamloops and area over the last 18 years to know my way around the building community and trade workers. On a recent project, I found myself doing a LOT of learning and labor building. I was getting a little burn out. I was running out of time. I decide to call Lyons. I have to say I was blown away with this company. This is why: 1. How quickly they got back to me. 2. Communication: from the phone call, to the leader on site, to the guys on the job. Each person on point. 3. Their ability to problem solve. When I was at work, they picked up supplies and didn't delay. THEY GOT THE JOB DONE! 4. Professionalism. Clean cut, polite, punctual, ready to get to work. 5. Skilled: suggested strategies to ensure the job was done right without me prompting them. Very capable with tools and materials. 6. Left worksite spotless. 7. Had clean paperwork receipts for me. 8. Job was done fast. No smokers, coffee breaks or extended lunch hours. 9. NO excuses, mess ups or mix ups. They are straight shooters. 10. Enthusiastic about work to be done as much as I was. SO .... I BOOKED THEM AGAIN FOR ANOTHER JOB. IT WAS AGAIN DONE TO THE SAME EXCEPTIONAL STANDARD.... My first experience with Lyons Landscaping was everything a customer in distress could have asked for. Our basement had flooded and we needed to problem solve ways to divert water and fix existing problems. The project manager, Brent, was thorough, thoughtful, trustworthy, and friendly. When it was time to fix the problem, the two staff members who were at my house were professional and polite and communicated very well us as to what was going on. When dealing with problems that are out of your realm of expertise, you have to trust who you have hired that they will be honest, knowledgeable, and have your best interest at heart. Lyons Landscaping ticked off all of these boxes. They will be our "go-to" for future projects. HIGHLY recommend this business!

Today was not a great experience for me. Went for a load of gravel. Now I know I wasn't in the best of moods myself and I was abrupt. Girl loading with machine asked me how I wanted it loaded. Told her to make it even. She asks again. I told her just load it level as possible. So instead it is all loaded to one side and pinched the 1 tire. She then takes off with my receipt. Good thing I had a garden rake with me or I would have been even more annoyed. If I didn't fix the load I would have most likely wrecked a tire. I think the girl with dark hair needs some training on how to load.

Terrible customer service and terrible workmanship. They went to my house to make repairs on my irragation system, 3 separate times for the same problem I originally called about. Took them months to even show up after I called to book them. I would never use them again.

I may have just experienced the worst customer service i have experienced in the last year. And this is probably the first experience that motivated me to right a negative review. I needed a small amount of black mulch for a small project i'm doing and planning to carry the mulch in 5 gallon buckets in the trunk of my car- i dont own a truck. I made two trips to Lyons; the first was good and went smoothly, the lady in the yard said that they ' normally sell it in bags which are equivalent to 7 hand shovels' but she would put it in the buckets- made sense, 7 shovels in a reusable bucket or container OR 7 shovel loads into non-reusable plastic bag that was then going to go into the landfill. Great the two of us were in and out of their in minutes. Good for everyone. The 2nd visit i got the supervisor- told her i had buckets we could use and she said 'no, we have a policy, bags only'. I said if it is 7 shovels why would it matter what it was put into? She gave me attitude and just referred to her 'policy' . I said to her again why would it matter. Simple question. No attitude. She again gives me the abrupt response- 'i can give you a contact number if you have an issue with the policy'. I said never mind just fill the bags. So two Lyons staff spent 10 minutes filling plastic bags, put a metal wire tie on it to seal it. At the end i said this isnt a very environmentally friendly option- she glared and left. I would imagine the policy is more about the volume provided for the purchase price, not 'the bag'. This transaction was not only very bad form my perspective but was less profitable and more costly for lyon's considering manpower and supplies used during the 2nd interaction AND they've lost a customer. Policies are important. Im a business owner. I get it. But when you are abrupt and can only have a discussion where the only thing you can say is 'we have a policy, we have a policy for a reason' you are definitely lacking in from a customer service aspect. I wasnt asking for more than i purchased, simply using common sense to use re-usable buckets.

We worked with Alan and the crew at Lyons to get exactly what we wanted as far as design and implementation. The whole job to rework our front yard into a rock and a native plant environment (remove the grass) took just 1.5 days as they knew what they were doing and worked at it diligently. In a particularly dry, windy location, Erik Green redesigned our front yard with new “stone steps”, a precisely placed granite table, a perennial selection, and automatic timed drip irrigation system. Terrible company that has fallen so far downhill they are stuck in the fertilizer. See the recent 1-star reviews and you'll see what I mean!! They charged mileage and a TRUCK FEE to come and do work at our property in city limits, despite us allowing them to dump clippings on our land. Their work was messy and hurt plants and management was rude and hostile when we told them we needed a solution. I expect a retaliation in comments same as with other reviews, which just shows how ill-mannered and unprofessional the folks running this place are.

Giovanni was just excellent with my whole project! Gio is the most reliable contractor… very proud to produce good work! He gave good suggestions regarding brick colors and co- ordinating the “ soldiers” used in my project. Extensive planning and attention to detail in the laying of the bricks for 2 large patios- front and rear of my home and the beautiful sidewalks that run up each side. His helper- Kyler was very precise with the leveling tools/ laser to insure the that any rain water would flow away from the house . Rob, the extra pair of hands was the brick “ cutter” and certainly knew his job. They did not waste time and completed the job in a very timely manner. Our backyard project was very unique and challenging, with a veritable jungle on quite a steep slope. After clearing the trees and brush, the Lyons crew laid down a ton of beautiful rock (riprap), including a switch-back path to the bottom, created an impressive curved wall of Allen block (thank you Carlos, Brad, Keaton and Scott), installed new backyard turf and a new, more efficient underground irrigation system (thanks, Chris). After several years without irritation systems and moving hose after hose to water my lawn, we bit the bullet and decided to get irrigation installed. From the start of dealing with Lyons Landscaping with Kiana and Colin it was easy and a pleasant experience. When the installers came, Greg was phenomenal! So friendly and professional and was actually happy to be there! He also gave me some good advice on bettering the system. He was also very kind and patient with my 13 year old yellow lab, who just wanted to be around the new people. The job was done perfectly and on the final walk through was very thorough and told me if something came up in the next couple days after using it, to call and he would address it immediately. So happy we chose Lyons! I knew they were a company I could trust!
