We had an event on Saturday and we had 2 heat lamps delivered. When we went to use them, only 1 turned on (after a lot of effort). When we called to get a refund, they told us we should have let them know on Saturday (by the time we turned on the heat lamps at 7pm, they were closed). Very poor service. At least the one lamp eventually worked well

Great staff here, helpfull, courteous and friendly reasonable prices. Also they service chainsaws, quickcut saws, generators, etc. Open on Saturdays and in the warmer months they open on Sundays for part day for your convenience, I own a business and Northgate is my main rental place

you ladies don't even deserve a single star, however the review wont allow it. i have never once been treated with such disrespect and attitude from a store clerk. i was simply inquiring about the generator and was cursed at for the "attitude" i brought in with me. the manager then came from her office to support the clerk who was cursing at me and insisted that i "dont come in here with that bullsh*t" again. terrible terrible service

I wanted to update my 1-star rating, post from 2013. I hesitantly decided to give Northgate another shot. They had a piece of specialty lawn equipment I needed and were the only ones in town that have it. This time around my experience was very satisfactory. The staff was friendly and helpful and the equipment ran and functioned perfectly. I was surprised that I was on a do not rent list, but the woman behind the counter gladly removed me from it. Thanks Northgate for the 100% turn around in customer service, it was greatly appreciated!

Terrible experience. Unprofessional , unpleasant and rude. The counter staff were awesome but when I called during the rental to share with them that what I rented was not working the gentlemen (matt ) was rude and unprofessional. It was a dump trailer that would not stay up on it's own and it took 15 minutes to lower it. When you press the down button it doesn't come down. So you and your employees stand there for 15 mins while it slowly comes down on it's own. They said it was cold out so that's why it doesn't work??? They also suggested I call the manufacturer of the trailer to sort it out. Huh??? We rent lots of equipment in our business but will not be going back to these folks.

Very friendly and trusting staff, let us return our rental after the 4 hours and still only charged us for 4 hours. Allowed us to use the honor system to say if we used the second rental they sent with us "just in case we needed it" - no charge was incurred. Rentals were dated but in my experience with power tools that can be a good thing; they also showed signs of proper and regular maintenance.

I've rented tools from here a lot in the last 15 years . They are very busy and sometimes short with you because they are getting pulled in all directions. They always answer your questions but may not have time to chat with you or time to give you a tutorial on how to do your project. It's always best to do your research on your project before renting. On couple occasions I've been disappointed to find out the tool I was waiting to rent was abused by previous renter . They did their very best to repair the tool in a timely manner. I will continue to rent from here .

I have rented from this guy for years every now and then because he was local and handy to my home. I gave him almost $100.00 to rent something for the minimum four hour term , used it and returned it undamaged and on time.He checked it out and deemed it ok. He then proceeded to sucker slap me for a $5.00 penalty for not shutting off the gas. THIS IS A SLEAZY THING TO DO MR NORTHGATE JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN. I for one will never ever set foot in your store again, and I intend to tell anybody that will listen to me about your billing practices. Enjoy your five bucks, it lost you a customer, and bought you bad advertizing for a long time.

Unbelievable horrendously, rude and disrespectful service, I am appalled that these ladies still work here and have not been fired years ago. Every time I go here they are rude and disrespectful, today I went ( for the last time) and I was publicly mocked by these ladies. I would strongly encourage anyone looking to rent or buy any tool to never step foot in this place but go to a store that will treat you with dignity and respect like united rentals, battlefield rental equipment, stephensons rental, sunbelt rental

ATTENTION - If you're looking for substandard aging and broken tools, combined with downright unfriendly ignorant service, then you have found the right place. Be prepared to be demanded to pay for tools that don’t work and made to feel like a crack thief if you complain about any of their junk not working. I uploaded a photo of the nice mess their broken electric paint sprayer did to my wall. I cleaned the unit and returned it and was told I had to pay for it because I rented it at 9am and was returning it at 2pm claiming it didn't work. I told them just because I rented it at 9am didn't mean I was going to use it right away, I rented it for it for the day. The chick lost her s##t on me and kicked me out of the store because I refused to pay for a broken piece of junk that didn't work! Anyway don't say you weren't warned

I have rented from them many times . They are not very friendly. Many of their rentals are old and unreliable. It's too bad cause they have been around for long time. They give you the expression they don't need business and could care less if you were satisfied with your rental. Disappointing but I keep going back. So I'm the dumb one.

First off, how do you give less than one star on here? This place is absolutely DISGUSTING in both customer service and quality of machine rental. Well, I rented a mini excavator for a day. So I take my son over to look at the machine at NORTHGATE. A young guy is more than willing to show us what we need to know to operate it. So he goes to start it up and it's dead. He then grabs a portable booster, charges it up and starts it. He shows us around the machine NP looks simple Enough. Then it gets delivered into the backyard (after he scrapes the fence a couple of times). (I'm still tolerant). He hands us a jug of coolant and shows us the line on the coolant where the minimum level should be. Says it has a slow leak. (I'm still tolerant) So my son gets on starts it up, learning the controls for 15 min. Or so, and getting the hang of it and he's doing great. An hour later he gets off for a short break. Go to start it and it won't start. I call them and they said they will send the delivery guy back to check it. He comes 2 1/2 hrs later and brings a set of cables and a battery, plus a portable electric booster with smaller cables. Takes about 15 mins. To boost it(because I had to tell him he had the cables on wrong) then he tells me to charge it over nite with the portable charger. I said what if it's raining can I close the lid. He says yes you should be able to close the lid. So we dig for another hour 7-8. Shut it off and it had started raining and I wasn't comfortable to get out there in the rain and set up this portable charger. So I get up at 7:30am and hook it up. Then called and asked how long my 24 hrs. Would be extended. She says one hr. (NOT HAPPY - starting to lose my patience) So she ends up giving me 2 hrs. Fine I can work with that. So my son gets on I've charged it for 5 hrs. (Which BTW has annoyed me because why should I be asked to do maintenance on a machine when I've paid $350 to rent it) - (I was told it was my fault because we were running at low idle, which we were told to do if the machine was stationary) so now it was my fault that the battery wasn't working properly) Eventhough the young guy had to boost it initially to show us the machine. So yeah, my son gets on runs it for 1/2 hr. and it stalls out. Can't start it........ I'm looking at the back of the the machine and it's Smokin'. I said "Get Off!) we open it up and All the coolant has leaked out, which I had topped off the night before. So we had more coolant, and let it cool down for half hour, and GUESS WHAT? IT WON'T START! And Half of the coolant I put in1/2 hr. ago has leaked out. I called them up Complained again ( and now I am really not happy) She says Do you want us to come pick it up? Well, off course I do! it doesn't WORK!!! I've had ENOUGH! And she says BTW your son has to drive it out of the backyard. I said No, he is NOT! So, the 2 young guys come. Boost it again!! To get it started. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.!!! No Sorry, No can we get u another Machine, No can we offer you your money back! No,NO, NO. You can call back in the morning and speak to DON. So, now I'm out 390 dollars, and I have a backyard that is not even half Dugg up for a pool!!! Any comments that the owner has put on here to defend himself you can be guaranteed is NOT TRUTH!!

Rented a chain saw (50 years of experience) today - started once, would not re-start - took it back the second chain saw started once, the idol was set too slow so it stopped and would not re-start. The first saw was sent out of the store without any chain oil in the saw. So I still have 4 hours of work to do and have spent 40 minutes on the road driving back and forth to the store. NOT recommended.

I've rented equipment from Northgate a few time in the last 15 yrs or so and although I've only dealt with them occasionally I've always had a good experience. Their equipment has always worked fine and the prices are usually better than their competition. In my opinion if anyone has had a problem it has probably been because they didn't follow directions or didn't know how to use it properly. The fact the owner takes time to respond to customer complaints in this forum says a lot

I am confused about the service here. I have used their service twice in the past month, once for warranty work and once on to rent a chain saw. I bought a pressure washer and brought it to them as they are the official repair place for DeWalt. DeWalt replaced the defective part but when I asked what was wrong, they said it was the intake manifold which has many parts. After repeating my question they said they did not know which part, when I asked to talk to the mechanic they refused....This is bad customer service!!!! "Customer Desk".???? The gentleman who showed me how to operate the chainsaw was excellent!! He when replaced the chain that had fallen off when I used it as I was not 100% sure on putting it back on, he did it fast and was pleasant.????

I have used Northgate Rent-All a number of times and find the staff always friendly and very helpful. Anyone I have referred to them have said the same thing. I've never had a problem with any of their equipment.

Great company to do business with. Tools are always in excellent condition, Melissa, Audrey an Mike are friendly and straight to the point. Their outside workers are very helpful with loading an off loading equipment. Always recommend this company to anyone looking for tools they may be in search of, 9 times outta 10 they will have it. Very disappointed, took my stihl fs45 in for repair, told it was not worth fixing, would cost $160, was given it back missing spark plug, I returned to get a plug, and amazingly the weed trimmer fired right up!!! Never going back there again!

took our equipment in to get fixed under a warranty agreement from another company. originally said that they didn't do our particular equipment but after a second call to the warranty company Northgate agreed to fix our unit. when they called to say it was ready was not treated very nicely on the phone. staff was ignorant and rude. any interaction we had with Northgate was very rude on their part almost to the point of hostility. Will never deal with them again. If warranty work is required on my equipment will take items out of town.

They sold me a $125 20 inch MTD mower (new, straight from manufacturer, mtd makes the storebrands). They had it all ready to go, including oil and premium gas. Very friendly and prompt service, and they clearly know they're stuff. I'll be sure to go back should I need to rent equipment.

Worst experience in my life. They have no costumer service at all. I was literally told I was wasting employees time by asking questions. Was then rushed to bring back the machine I rented to still be charged for the minimum of 4 hours. This business is a scam. They also tried to keep my down payment until I called the police. Smh. Poor example of how a business should be ran.
