Quick service and knowledgeable about fences and decks. However, I filled out the online quote request from and nobody contacted me back at all, so I went in myself afterwards and ordered some fencing. Delivery was quick but they only gave me 18 of the 24 brackets I ordered and paid for - I only found out weeks later when I was installing the fence.

Great experience at this Rona, I ordered online and picked up in store, on the way to my car the cart got stuck in a Crack and wouldn't move. A Rona employee came to help me and even put them in my car for me! This was exceptional service and I will be going here more often for my reno needs.

We needed a new deck and called several local outfits that sent out representatives to advise us and provide estimates. Billy Danylchuk from BFD Building Centre really stood out from his competitors and it was his professionalism and thoroughness as well as the fair price he suggested that made choosing his company for our project a no-brainer. His frequent communication every step of the way was most impressive. We were never left wondering about any part of the process. If you appreciate, as we do, a work ethic that is the very opposite of lackadaisical, Billy is your guy. He could – and perhaps should – teach a course in “how to really take care of business.” An usually rainy spring caused schedule backups for a lot of local businesses that do the bulk of their work in the late spring/early summer, but eventually it was our turn and BFD removed our old deck quickly and efficiently. The man who actually built the new deck was Mark Dilkin. Billy told us Mark was a true craftsman who put a lot of thought and care into his work. We couldn’t agree more. He is a craftsman with a capital “C.” The finished deck is beautiful. The whole experience with BFD was excellent and we heartily recommend them to everyone with a similar project. Not customer friendly. We are new in the area, walk in the store could not find the garden centre, ask the staffs at the cashier where the garden is. 2 staffs sat there but ignored us it seems like they didn’t care much if we are exit or there to bring them the business. No washroom available to use. I will not go there again I feel not welcome. I will shop at the Home Depot or Lowe where staffs friendly and washrooms are available. For your information yes,I did ask the staffs at the cashier to use the washroom and was being told no??? If I see the sign it would be a different story. Thanks for the reply!

Placed an order on-line for 2-hour pickup. Went to the store 3 hours later and the clerk there informed me that "they don't do things like that" and "they weren't Zehrs". He sighed when I showed him the confirmation email and begrudingly pawned me off on a coworker who filled my pre-paid order. They may have stuff you need, but don't expect any kind of customer service without a lot of sighing and rolling of eyes.

I just got back from there. I was short 6 feet of chain link fence to be ready for my pool inspection tomorrow morning.Try finding that a a big box store! The desk folks were super friendly and helpful as was the yard worker. Two thumbs up around for my experience.

I needed the cap for a plumbing shut off valve, as I lost the gasket when I drained a water line last winter. A plumber offered to re-solder a new valve for $150, so I went to Home Depot 2x for wrong sized caps. So I took the original cap to Rona and an employee searched for the proper gasket/washer for 15 minutes before making me one out of a piece of roofing membrane FREE OF CHARGE. It’s been 3 days and not a drop of water.

Both items I ordered I received a ready for pick up email. Drive 20 minutes , Come in and both items "never arrived but were supposed to" no apologies either. First and last time i go here.

They don't return calls when they promise. They send your phone calls in circles that don't get you anywhere. Staff says people don't work there after they say that person will call you, then you get connected to an answering machine for the person that doesn't work there? Absolutely the worst customer service, my planned purchase of over $10000 in fence will now be placed with a different supplier Pass on this place they are useless.

Damage to my car after wood loaded in and trunk closed. I called and spoke to the manager who was professional and courteous. However, the issue had to go to the store owner and after 6 days no response even though I called twice. Better communication could have avoided the whole situation. Poor customer service in the lumber yard as well. Will not return to this store.

Update: April, 17. 2019 This place is going down hill. The lack of communication from the store to the yard was unbelievable today. The yard guys just don't care and apparently the store guys are useless. I almost dropped everything and left today. Old review: Alright place. They got a Rona flag but seem to be a small town business.

Was greeted by a rude employee. Went in to order a $800 bbq and was quickly met with incompetence. The disgruntled employee did not know how to look up a product on the computer. We gave him the manufacturer name and model type. He wanted the serial number and then proceeded to tell us "that in the future, before you come to a store to have the serial number or we can't look it up". My wife searched on her phone and found the product in 10 seconds. Unfortunately he did not have the same intellectual skills to do so. He then asked to see my wife's phone when he was standing infront of his computer. I had enough and told him to look it up himself. He said "I dont need this". I geuss this location doesn't want to sell any products. So I call on my fellow tradesmen to boycott this store because apparently they dont need business.

Went in last week with my young son to get some plumbing supplies and was really shocked by the language from a member of staff Jerry i think was his name I was checking out with a lady didn't get her name but great accent and service when the guy next to her started swearing and acting aggressively at his computer slamming stuff on the counter i could see the lady was embarrassed so I left quickly without speaking to the manager but feel this problem should be sorted. Won't be back anytime soon.

Purchased floor systems from BFD Building Centre in Kitchener for a couple of new houses with a contract valued up to $80000 The person we were dealing with with was Dean and we did not receive what we paid for. There were building materials that were not delivered and after contacting Dean, he was unwilling to rectify the situation. We were forced to purchase the missing pieces from another supplier at our own cost. This is on top of delays in delivery of more than 3 weeks! Couldn't believe that Dean point black said that he doesn’t care and he would not help us. Stay away from this business at all cost if you value your time and money. What a bad experience.

Horrible place to go they give your orders to someone else after they sell you the product and then when you call them out on it they act like they are 8 years old and tell you that you are no longer welcome and return your money. Be aware as they have poor customer service and professionalism and will leave uou high and dry 2 hours before you are going to start your project and cost you thousands of dollars . Go to depot at least they don't sell your product but may cost a bit more but worth it.

All I brought , Deck Designer Bill Danylchuk , was a picture of my backyard. I must have had 1000 questions. Bill took the time even after hours and a few weekends to explain every question asked. This went on for 3 weeks. And the 3D Design and Color Snap Shots he emailed prior to making a decision made the new deck experience an absolute joy ! The Finished Product was even better! I made the mistake of spending a month getting quotes from other vendors and went to BFD last. Don't make the same mistake I did. They may not be the cheapest but...worth every penny !

I called to ask if there was an item in stock. When I was told that there was, I drove all the way from Guelph to Kitchener, only to be surprised to find that there was in fact no stock for the item I inquired about. The funny thing was that Emily, whom I talked on the phone with, specifically recognized me and informed me of the opposite upon arrival. I'm a contractor and frankly, wasting my time is wasting my money. This was unprofessional and a rather bad experience.

Trash service , was laughed at when I asked if I could place an order through their 'order desk' for mulch and edging , she said 'we don't even have a garden center", then hung up . Proceeded to call back twice with no luck. Covid or not you shouldn't be salty 20min into a shift , if you are maybe another career path would suite you better , supervisors fault also for not babysitting employees who clearly need it.

Replaced our old deck with a beautiful new composite deck. Bill was great to work with and communicated frequently regarding the initial deck design and details. Our deck project started a bit later than anticipated (early November), but our deck builder Mark worked through the cold in December and January to get the deck complete. Overall happy with the finished project and looking forward to spring so we can start enjoying our deck!

They constantly bothered me to take pictures so they can use it for advertising. I was happy to help. Now fast forward to 2021. I'm not welcome there because I can't wear a mask.

Don’t waste your time! Go elsewhere. They screwed up our order plenty of times along with delivery, shattered our glass and refused to rectify the situation other then placing another order that would take another 2-3 weeks! Poor customer service. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

The desk staff at the store are AMAZING. This review is not about them. (I will do a separate one because they deserve it) This review is about getting a deck built by the construction staff. Phone calls almost always go straight to voice mail. They never, ever, get returned. Sometimes someone will show up on site the next day though. 4 months later the deck is still only partially built. There have been numerous misunderstandings on what is to be built, even though I have designed the entire structure in deck.gl. It's like they don't understand that their job is to interact with a customer to understand what their needs and vision for a project are. When I do get through to the construction manager, I get tales about how things will get done in the next week. A bit more gets done, but it's often wrong. Railings where there are supposed to be a privacy walls. A privacy wall which is only 5' tall, (isn't that a short fence at that point?) instead of a more reasonable 6.5' like what was on the existing deck which was inspected during the quoting process. After 3 weeks without contact (though I have left more messages), I was looking to find a way to legally fire them and just finish it myself, without them "repossessing" what has already been built and forfeiting my deposit. Funny enough, there is no easy way to do this. At week 4, they finally finished the work. The amount of manpower, and length of time it took to install 6 posts, and 4 metal panels was astounding. It was an all day affair. They later came back, built the remaining stair, and cleaned up a few other missing things. Luckily I looked at the pictures sent to me, and had them fix the steps before the work was "officially completed." In the end, I got pretty much the deck that I wanted for the price that I wanted, it just took all summer, and way more back and forth then it should have.

If your looking for the worst possible service then this is the store for you! Called multiple times looking for prices on material for a project I had. Never got a call back or email back. Guess I'll give my money to a company that actually wants buisness

This store is just frustrating and irritating. They have limited stock. Don't follow Rona pricing on a bunch of items. Their outdoor lumber yard tends to have a ton of damaged/warped boards so you're constantly picking through them for something descent. And the full time staff (not the students) just seem to be in a perpetual bad mood. This is easily the worst lumber/hardware store I've ever been to. I can't help but think the only reason they stay in business is the closest other big box store is 20 minutes away.
