Dear St; Lawrence Pools Owner: I wrote a review already and you replied with things that I need to respond to. You wrote: "This is a very expensive repair and we are happy to provide you a proposal for the items that are predictable. " No you were not happy to do it. You refused to do it and your manager said so. Later in your reply on you wrote how you never gave me a quote for the work. Which is it? Did I not get a quote because I didn't want one? Next you wrote: "Unfortunately, we are not certain of the construction that was used for your pool and have some concerns that the job may expand immensely once it is started. " This is the first I have heard of this. The manager who came to my house to look at the job seemed quite confident and there was no hint of any problems. On the phone, when another manager finally took my call after 3 months, all he said was sorry, we are too busy. If it might get more expensive, wouldn't that be good for you? Then you wrote: "No pricing, proposal, or contract was ever provided We did not construct your pool and prior to your call we have no records of ever being at the site." I agree completely. But I guess that you do have first time clients, don't you? Then you wrote: "Yes there was a discussion about a possible spring repair but at no point was there any type of commitment as a proposal or even a budget was not prepared. " I also agree, but this is where you contradict yourself. If you were "happy" to provide one, why did you not give me one? I was told verbally I would get a quote. He told me I would have to put down a deposit. I said no problem. He did say there was a chance to do it in August of this year, but I said the spring would be fine. I called 7 times and sent 3 emails, I believe, to get your staff to follow through. Your staff never followed up. I trusted your staff when they said verbally the work could be done in the spring. I trusted them and they lead me along and then dumped me for more expensive jobs that came along after me. Finally you wrote: "We would be happy to proceed to meet with you and review available timelines." Complete garbage meant to make people reading reviews think that things are going to change. Your staff have my number, my email address and can contact me through google. Your staff basically did not even want to talk about it when I finally got to talk to someone. There was no movement whatsoever. It was basically: "sorry, this is the way it goes" followed by silence on the phone. Now that I write a bad review you change your tune? A quality business takes all customers seriously from the beginning and communicates honestly and promptly. That did not happen and you know it did not. If you are the owner, let me help you respond to reviews in the future. You should have written: "Not replying to your requests for contact over a period of 3 months was completely unacceptable. I have spoken to my staff and made it clear that this should never happen again. Since it was one of my managers who let you down, I have left my contact info on our website in case similar issues arrive. We value your business and we when we give our word that a quote will be forthcoming and that we will do the job, we mean it. We will be in contact with you in the next week." What you wrote was deflecting garbage and did not address the issues of my first review. Feel free to contact me if you want my business. I am not going to call again and be shrugged aside so you can look nice on the internet. If things change I will be more than happy to write a third review.

I went in to have a .5 amp fuse replaced for my hot tub. They didn't have any in stock. Josh, knowing without that simple yet hard to find fuse, my Tub was rendered useless...he took a fuse from a floor model and apologized for not having any. That is customer service!

I have just moved to Belleville from Toronto and Chantelle and her associates in the sale department have spent so much time and effort to educate me before I even moved in and also went way out of their way to get me a baby loc fence for my pool. I am new to owning a pool as well as a spa. The service department also has been extremely helpful. It so amazing to see that there are still companies in Canada that provide amazing customer service. The chlorine puck dispenser that was backordered in July 2018.... you said you would call when you got it in. Yup it is $10 or something cheap... but you said you would call. I will adjust my rating if you make good on your word. It was management I was speaking with, not just a floor kid too. But this is just one rating in a world of online feedback.

When we needed information on setting up our new hot tub, our neighbour recommended taking a water sample to St. Lawrence Pools in Belleville. There, our water sample was analyzed and we were given a detailed printout of the results. A knowledgeable staff member Owen took time to explain as to what each reading meant and made suggestions to correct any deficiencies. At no time were we pressurized to buy anything. Needless-to-say, we bought our chemicals from the store and will continue to do so when required.

My husband and I purchased a Traeger Smoker Grill from the Belleville location. Mike was such a great help to us and answered all of our questions. We absolutely love the grill, especially my husband. The food he smokes on there tastes fantastic! My husband had mentioned though that he really wished there was a shelf with it. His birthday was coming up and I knew there are a ton of accessory options for the Traeger grills so I got in contact with Mike and told him I wanted to get my husband the swivel shelf and that it would be a surprise for his birthday. Mike made a custom order for me and even made sure to call my cell when it was ready, my husband had no idea. I was also worried that my husband would see it when I took it out of the trunk so Mike went above and beyond and wrapped it up in a large bag for me so no one could see what it was. Now my husband has added it to our Grill, he loves it and we definitely will continue to shop at St. Lawrence Pools and Spa in Belleville. I would love to add a photo of our Grill but I'm not sure how.

Update: I was contacted personally by the store manager in regards to my concerns and experience with St. Lawrence Pools. The manager apologized and spent some time explaining how this oversight may have occurred. More importantly, he made a point of ensuring that our issues were corrected and that we would see a clear improvement in our service going forward. He has followed through on that commitment and we are continuing to receive improved service for our hot tub and pool. I appreciate his willingness to step up and recognise there was a problem, then work with his staff to make things right. I have improved my rating to 4 stars based on how things have turned out. More importantly, I will continue to buy from St. Lawerence Pools in the future based on their effort to provide better customer service. Previous review: So far, not a fan. Very recently bought a 10k hot tub from the store in Belleville. While the people at the store were nice, after the deposit the service dropped off and there was no real support. We have a tub and a bucket of chemicals and then no clear direction or hands on instruction on what is next, so we are figuring it out on our own. Guys who delivered were nice but their verbal info conflicted with the store info (we have had to call number is times because nobody can come for almost two weeks after delivery). No user manual, or setup guides, we found a user manual on the internet for a similar model, same manufacturer. When my wife calls to ask a question the people on the line sound like we are bothering them and then then she gets directions like "inside cap of X", "outside cap of X"... I am sure they have done this 1000 times, but we have not. Not sure of any other business where you can drop 10k and then become an afterthought, but here we are. There are plenty of decent reviews on here and that is why we chose to go to this place, but I am regretting the decision based on my experience. If a friend were asking me to go, I would hesitate to recommend them based on the service. This is a service business afterall since you can buy hot tubs anywhere (and cheaper depending on what you need). We are reading the labels on the bucket of chemicals and and watching YouTube videos from other hot tub companies and crossing our fingers. Its extremely rare for me to complain about service, I usually give people the benefit of the doubt or, I just don't go back. 2 of 5 stars is me being a generous, polite Canadian.

We have an older model hot tub, which we inherited and having never owned a hot tub before and knowing absolutely NOTHING about maintaining one, I'm always impressed by how knowledgeable everyone is at St. Lawrence Pools. They always answer my questions and I never feel like they're trying to sell me anything I don't need. They make it really easy to understand and I always leave with printed instructions of how to maintain the water. We've needed it serviced a few times and the repair guys are always quick, very professional and know what they're doing! I will always recommend St. Lawrence Pools.

I contacted St. Lawrence Pools this past Friday, very late in the afternoon as there was an issue with my swim spa. We had purchased the swim spa second hand and it was not the brand that is sold by St. Lawrence Pools. I however had several people coming for the weekend and was desperate to try and find a resolution. I had called 1 other local pool establishment and had gotten no assistance. When I called I was immediately patched through to Cale who was helpful and patient on the phone while I described what was occurring. He indicated that it would be hard to help without seeing the unit. I immediately figured that was that and I would have to adjust the weekend plans. He however indicated that he could be over after the store closed at 6 to have a look! I was floored that he would offer to do this on the Friday of the long weekend. He showed up shortly after 6, had reviewed the user manual for our swim spa brand online, walked through the issue and gave me sound advice on how to ensure that I could use the swim spa over the weekend. I am still amazed at the level of client service and generosity! It saved the weekend! I would highly recommend this business and specifically Cale if you are having any issues!!! I know they will have my business going forward!

Lost the pics they were supposed to send to manufacturer and refused to send diagnosis. Owner negated charges after my complaint, but still did not get any service. St. Lawrence Pools in Belleville helped us through the process of purchasing and delivering a hot tub for our new house. We could not be happier with the experience. Each time we entered the store we were greeted and tended to promptly. If there wasn't a sales associate available, one of the other staff members acknowledged us and ensured us that a sales team member would be with us soon - which they were. They walked us through a variety of options that even included installation of an in-ground pool. When we arrived at the decision to get a hot tub, Mike thoroughly walked us through costs, maintenance and every step of the purchase/delivery was taken care of. He even came out the house the day after our hot tub was delivered and walked us through the fill up a fresh chemical process. After inviting St. Lawrence to my home for a quote I heard them discussing our finances with another customer who happened to be our friend and passed along the information. I was shocked to hear what they said which was a private discussion. A reputable business should never ever discuss a client's personal information that is a breech of confidentiality. I actually enjoyed this store until I heard about the unprofessional practice. I cannot believe how unpricipled the owner was in doing this. Lost all respect. I'll spend my money else where.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I have heard of them on radio ads and happened to be nearby in Belleville on my way home and needed some pool chemicals. The guy was really helpful, told me what I needed without trying to sell me the most expensive thing in the store and made some useful suggestions. I plan to go back or try their Kingston store as I live closer to that one. They also have BBQ stuff. I did find the Traeger rubs and sauces really expensive, but I do use Traeger wood pellets a lot so now have a local source of supply (I recommend the Traeger pellets over the Costco chips or small bags found at other stores--the Traeger bags are way more cost effective and last a long time).

What was outstanding was the follow up after the hot tub was delivered. We were encouraged to call with any questions, which we did and provided good information and support. The process of setting up the hot tub was stress free and easy because of this support, we thank you. We also went to a seminar provided at the store which was very informative. Home visit was also provided; one staff came and reviewed operations which was again great. I have been dealing with St. Lawrence Pools in Belleville for 15 years now. We had a old tub and they never hesitated to get what I needed. I ordered new jets for the old one several heaters and other things as well as chemicals. I love the staff they are very helpful in everyway. Well the old one bit the dust it was time to buy a new one. We went in one Saturday and that's when we met Mike. He is awesome...very knowledgeable always smiling. The service is great Mike went through all the different tubs and we chose the self clean. I love it. They delivered and set it in as promised that was last November we have been very happy with this tub. I was in the other day to get the water tested and Mike came up to me as soon as I walked in the door. I was having trouble setting the times for the heater and he took me through it step by step you can not get any better service than that. Delivery commitments were not met. Service responsiveness was virtually non existent. Expectations of reasonable customer service have not been fulfilled. I would not recommend buying a hot tub from St. Lawrence Pools. [Subsequent to posting this review, the company and Mike Soley have made attempts to improve their service. I appreciate their efforts and would rate them at 3 stars if they had provided this level of service from the outset.]

Their fast free pool water analysis comes with exact instructions on how to balance the water chemicals — invaluable for pool newbies like us. Called the store the other day as I was having an issue with my hot tub. The in-store staff was great to deal with as they were very friendly and helpful over the phone. However, once I was directed to their service and repair department my experience changed. The customer service wasn't great, waited several hours after leaving a voicemail and no one called me back, so I ended up calling back a second time and finally got a hold of someone. The hourly labour fee that I was told was drastically higher than the previous company I had contacted. Not to mention if 2 people end up working on your hot tub the labour fee goes up. I was also told that I would have to order any parts needed for the hot tub on my own because of the type of hot tub brand I had. Needless to say I went with the previous company I had originally contacted because their labour fees were cheaper and they didn't charge extra if 2 people came out to work on the tub. As well, they themselves were willing to order the parts that might be needed.

I have been going to St. Lawrence Pools for all my pool and hot tub needs since 2009. The staff there are very friendly, helpful and truly demonstrate that they care about their customers. I have replaced hot tub covers, components for the spa (such as thermal sensors and an oxidizing unit - not because of poor quality, but normal wear - my spa is about 14 years old), and anytime their service technicians have had to come out to do the work they have done so promptly and I have never had an issue with their service crew. In fact, when Hydropool informed me that I would need a new heating unit for the spa, I arranged for St. Lawrence Pools technicians to install it. Upon examination of the heating unit by the technicians, it was found that I only need to replace the thermal sensors (as mentioned above)...saving me significant money! And the spa has been working great since. Not many companies would offer up the less expensive option...especially since they were contracted to do the "bigger" job. That shows their customers are truly valued. The store itself is clean, bright, and well organized and the staff are readily available for help. The staff also is very knowledgeable in the products they sell, making sound recommendations for chemicals or other items needed based on your individual situation. Going to St. Lawrence Pools for my pool/spa needs not only makes me feel that I am in good hands, but also that I am getting what I need, as opposed to a company that is just there to sell you products, whether you actually need them or not. This company has always been good to me and I would not go anywhere else.

Heresay says many of their 5 star reviews are friends and family of the business. I don't know how this place stays in business!!!! They "forgot" to order my hot tub and blamed it on the manufacturer. After calling several times and NO ONE RETURNED MY CALLS, I pretty much gave up. I ordered May 21 ... finally arrived MID AUG after I had to go there in person and complain!!! Almost 13 WEEKS LATER!!!!! I was promised someone would be here to show me how to fill and juggle the chemicals ... NO ONE SHOWED. Steps were damaged so I called and they said someone would come that day to replace ... NO ONE SHOWED AND NO ONE CALLED. Someone is "supposed" to come today (Monday the 19th of Aug) to replace my steps and show me the chemicals ... A WEEK LATER!!!! Let's see if they even remember. Absolutely TERRIBLE service all around. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THIS USELESS BUSINESS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could give ZERO stars. UPDATE: No one showed to introduce me to using the chemicals ... YET AGAIN!!! I guess I'll just have to Youtube it. My stairs finally arrived ... 4 days late.

St.Lawrence Pools has provided me with superb customer service. Recently I had an issue with a product that was purchased here. I tried multiple times to contact the American manufacturer and was continually frustrated with no results. I told my story to St.Lawrence Pools and within 3 days, I received a call from the president of the Canadian division of the manufacturing company. I was expecting the same results that I has with their American counterparts. To my surprise and Joy, the Canadian division offered to replace my item free of charge. I was only expecting a fix!!! Without St.Lawrence Pools going to bat for me, I'm sure none of this would have happened. Well done St.Lawrence Pools, well done. This is the way all businesses should be run!

We have a pool and we couldn’t figure out why our brand new salt chlorinator wasn’t working and the manufacturer was of no help. He has amazing customer service skills. Always happy and eager to help you with your pool and spa needs and always a huge smile on his face like he's genuinely happy that you're there. Ordered a Weber BBQ from St Lawrence Pools in Belleville to be brought in from one of their other locations. Cale Stapley whom I was later told is the assistant manager said it would likely be in Belleville by the following weekend or early the following week...ok no problem. After 3 weeks had passed contacted Cale and he indicated he would follow up with the store and call me back. I waited a few days and after being left on hold for 10 or sometimes up to 15 minutes, and speaking with two different people, was not able to reach him and was told again he would call me back. Long story short he didn't have the backbone to ever get back to me and avoided my numerous calls. After a month had passed since first leaving a down payment I went back to have it refunded. He (Cale) talks a great story, but just left me hanging. As a result I will take any future business elsewhere! If I could give them a rating of no stars I would.
