Before moving to Quinte Gardens we looked at a lot of other options locally, but it was an easy decision to have our mom move here. Compared to all the other homes, we knew this was the right place. Despite its size, there is an undeniable feeling of family and community when you're here. Even the newest building in town couldn't compare to the warmth we felt when working with the Quinte staff. Since settling in, Mom has made new friends, enjoys the food and really loves going for walks in the garden. It has made a huge difference in both of our lives. She is happier and I can sleep at night knowing she's taken care of.
After one year at Amica Quinte Gardens I find it's the best in its class for caring staff, great food, many activities, paved parking lot, covered garage, and a pleasant large garden. Nursing care available when needed, rooms kept clean weekly by friendly staff. Movies daily, salt water pool, activity room for exercises directed most mornings, bistro has snacks all day, outside entertainers come in often to the auditorium. Weekly feedback to the managers is a democratic benefit to correct minor problems. Overall I highly recommend it as a wonderful place to live in the centre of Belleville.
Working at Quinte Gardens feels like working at home. Being an international student, I never thought that I would receive so much love and compassion from all my residents. I will be forever grateful for working with all the amazing staff. How lucky am I to have over 200 grandparents! Counting my blessings everyday.
Quinte Gardens is an amazing retirement home. My mom recently took up residence there and at 83, we were worried about the transition. Leanne and the staff were amazing and my mom is really happy there. The staff really care, the food is impressive (quality, choice, taste), and amenities all first rate. We looked at several other retirement homes (all more expensive but not as nice as QG) and very happy with our choice.
After working at Quinte Gardens for close to 3 years, going through the changing of hands of the facility to 3 different chains (Amica, Bayridge, Sienna) I cannot recommend to work there or to place a family member in the care of the facility. Most all of the original staff were replaced when Sienna took over instead of being retrained, the department heads joined and quit faster every year, and almost all of the time the place was understaffed. The general morale of residents was poor due to constant miscommunication between channels, many of the services they were offered when they began living there being taken away slowly to cut company costs. Save your time, mind and money and find a nicer venue to retire at.
I am currently working here and has been for almost 4 years. Staff and residents treat each other like a family, I really felt "home" whenever I go to work. There is always a room to grow and learn something new. I started in the Kitchen, then Dining and now I just got an opportunity to work in the Administration Department which I am very excited about and very grateful for...
My mother moved into Quinte Gardens in 2013 at age 95. This was the only residence she really wanted to live in. So I called the residence and booked a tour. They offered my mother a chance to live there for one month to try it out but after only two weeks she decided this was going to be her new home for the rest of her life. We also saw several different rooms but she chose the one overlooking the gardens. On first entering the facility you are greeted at the concierge desk with a warm smile. The facility has been newly renovated and it’s bright and clean with new furnishings. You can see the pride the staff takes in keeping it so lovely. The grounds are well-maintained with beautiful gardens and a fish pond. A place my mother really loves to go to meet up with other residents and sit in the covered swings, benches or just go for a stroll. The residence has many activities ongoing daily, weekly and on special occasions. They really put a lot of effort into decorating for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween ???? and Christmas. They also take them out on excursions to see the fall leaves, the Christmas ???? lights etc. There is transit available to take your loved ones to appointments which runs three times a week. Each week the residents are given a calendar with all activities that are going on and a separate print out sheet that has all the meals for the week. The maintenance department is also wonderful there. If something is broken in their rooms or something needs attention they just let the desk know and someone comes up and corrects it. My mother feels respected as a senior there. She had to move to the second floor, which is the nursing floor a couple years ago when she had a fall. But on the second floor they have their own private dining room and they can go to the large dining room on the main floor when family comes for visit. My mother celebrated her 100th birthday there and they set it up in a room downstairs with all the food. It was wonderful. Quinte Gardens staff are totally dedicated to its residence. There is also excellent communication with family members as to what’s happening at all times. During this time of uncertainty when Quinte Gardens tested more than 300 people for Covid they had 100% negative results. That alone speaks highly of the staff that work there. Rest assured your love ones will be well taken of, treated with respect and dignity. An excellent place to call home.
Quinte Gardens is not only a building of beauty but when you walk into those front doors it is alive with seniors buzzing about. It is so bright and cheerful. On our tour it was apparent the residents are so happy and engaged. Men were sitting in the front area and for our Dad that was huge to see. All of the other residences we saw had almost no men and here were five right away chatting and laughing with one another. Great first impression for Dad. The staff are warm and welcoming. Every single staff member and resident acknowledged us on our tour. There was open sharing and no question was off limits. Most of all we didn’t feel pressure or desperate sales tactics. The Sales Advisor Leanne was kind, patient and we didn’t feel rushed. She took the time to answer all of our questions at the end of the tour. We were surprised at how much we learned. I was so impressed by what we saw in comparison to the other Retirement Residences I had to do a google review. It was refreshing to learn seniors “gain independence when they move to retirement not lose it” We left with a lot of information and have decided when the time is right for Dad, Quinte Gardens will be our Dad and families choice. Thank you to the staff and residents for such a warm and inviting tour. We were impressed. We look forward to the day Dad makes the choice to move in and he gets to live the Quinte Gardens life each day of his retirement living years.
I was disappointed in my experience at Amica at Quinte Gardens. To start with the parking was difficult (all gravel) and the distance from the parking to the lobby made me feel weak. I was suprised to find most of the common areas are located in a dark, dingy and damp basement with no natural light. The building in general is starting to show its age, we were stuck in the basement as one of the elevators was broken and the other was locked for an ambulance, there was no place to sit down while we waited so I got very tired. I have the feeling things aren't going well there.
I was recently at Quinte Gardens to visit my grandmother over this holiday Season. I have been overseas for a few years and have been unable to visit but on my return was astounded at the amazing changes Quinte Gardens has made. I must say the Christmas display in the front lounge and festive atmosphere at Quinte Gardens was brilliant. Residents were so excited and proud to show the Christmas display off and they should be as it is magnificent. They also have completely renovated the building and it looks spectacular. Bright cheery warm colours, beautiful new Bistro area and all brand new furniture. I am always amazing at how active and inviting Quinte Gardens is. The residents are both happy and proud to live there. The food is amazing, activities are abundant and the over all atmosphere is so warm and welcoming . Quinte Gardens is my grandmothers second family. She loves the Staff and Management. They seem to know all of the residents by name not to mention fine details about their personalities ,likes and dislikes which is a real added touch. I am impressed Quinte Gardens and Thank you for keeping our Seniors young , vibrant and feeling loved.
I have had the privilege of working at Quinte gardens for almost 14 years. I have seen some changes over the years. The major one was the expansion of the second phase from 4th to the 7th floor and the installation of the beautiful salt water pool that our residents absolutely love! Quinte Gardens is a pretty active place with residents coming and going to different activities and to and from the large garden we have! I love it when I come into work and get a friendly “good morning”, “have a great day”. It is such a family atmosphere and so nice to talk to the residents and have that warm feeling of the residents sharing their home with us. Residents love to tell us a story or two and a few are quiet the jokesters too. We even have some residents that love to use the resident craft kitchen and if you are lucky they might give you a baked good fresh out of the oven! We always tell them no it is okay but you know what it was like with your Grandparents, the residents insist just like that! I work in the laundry department. I find this very rewarding when residents bring me stained clothing, they say they can’t get out and ask me to “do your magic” , they are so funny! I work hard to meet all of their laundry needs. I help out when I can with housekeeping, janitorial or even delivering of parcels or flowers that arrive for them. I enjoy all different jobs here. I get to meet all the residents and be part of the entire community we have here. No job is too less for anyone, we are a team. I enjoy coming to work every day because if you have something on your mind there is always a smile, story for you. We are all family when I walk through the door.
My Mom moved to Quinte Gardens in the summer of 2018 and she loves it! She has a 1 bedroom suite that allows her the space to have all the comforts of home; her dining table for jigsaw puzzles, her computer/sewing machine table, and still plenty of space for lots of family to visit. The facility is very clean and building maintenance is ongoing to ensure that it is in top condition. There are lots of activities throughout the day of which you can pick and choose which ones are of interest to you and that you can participate in. The dining room is spacious and the meals are delicious (I have ate with her numerous times)! The staff are all so friendly and talk personally with the residents. Quinte Gardens is an excellent place for seniors to maintain a somewhat independent lifestyle but have the availability of assistance when needed as well as the opportunity for social interactions without dealing with the elements outside. My Mom still drives when the need arises, but other than visiting family and friends and going to church when the weather permits, she is able to keep a very active schedule all within the residence. She has now convinced her sister to move there too! We would highly recommend Quinte Gardens Retirement Residence to anyone looking for semi-independent senior living!!
My Mum has moved to Quinte Gardens recently and absolutely loves it! The staff are caring, wonderful and welcoming, and she has made friends quickly. The food is excellent, better than other homes at which my Mum has stayed.
Not long ago we had concerns about Mom living on her own. We toured 4 locations in Belleville and it was an easy decision to pick Quinte Gardens over the others. The atmosphere was lively and upbeat where we found the other locations sedate and far toosubdued. The activities were almost more numerous and varied than the other 3 locations combined! Having a nurse on site 24 hours a day was a key factor as well. Once we moved Mom into Quinte Gardens our contact with all of the staff was positive. We found them to be caring and considerate without exception. Many were quick to learn her name and acknowledged her every time they saw her. Mom was greeted by another resident who took her to many of the activities and introduced her to the other residents which helped her feel at home in just a few days. The food, always important to a senior, was delicious, fresh and well prepared. The menu had enough choices to satisfy her and was varied enough to not become boring. One major factor in reaching the decision to move Mom to Quinte Gardens was the cost. Contrary to what we had heard, we found it to be less expensive than others, and a much better value for the money we paid. All in all, it was an easy decision and proved to be better than what we had hoped it would be. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone!
Serving Seniors at Quinte Gardens If you love the company of Seniors , the stories of their beautiful lives, loved ones they have loved and lost, children they still speak of as young children though some are in their 60’s now .... Quinte Gardens is a place for you to work! As a staff member I have been blessed to work with amazing staff that are supportive , caring, kind and have a full teamwork outlook. I call them my work family and that is exactly what they are. Most of us spend more time with the Residents and our fellow team members then we do with our own families. For most working class this is typical. For us though We truly LOVE the residents here. There are staff that have been here since Quinte Gardens first opened all the way down to an environment that encourages the youth of Belleville to get their “ Very first job” with us. We are encouraged to grow , learn and stretch our abilities to be better at things we never thought we could. The Management team believes in us, they are stronger and better now then it has ever been in my 2 years at Quinte Gardens. The time and effort they invest in the staff, listening to us and I mean honestly listening is second to none. We all care for the residents and look after them and the management team looks after the residents and the staff , we are all made to feel like we are important. If you want to work in an environment that encourages, shows respect, builds you up and you get to grow both professionally and personally then Quinte Gardens is not only a place you should come to work but also a place to bring your loved one to live ! A very happy team member
I truly enjoy going to work each day. I work in the Recreation Department and it is a pleasure to create programming that engages the varieties of people that live in the community of Quinte Gardens. It is a pleasure to gain not only rapport, but friendships with the residents as we build a connection through various activities and events. There is always something going on and the staff are very helpful to new residents who are finding their way about this large but beautiful building. As for programming, our calendars are full of variety which change appropriately to highlight the events of each season. For example, in June we are having a Strawberry Social to taste the fruit of the season. We are also hosting a Fun Fair to raise money for a good cause. We also do events and raffles through the year to raise money for our Quinte Gardens for Seniors Charity. Annually at before Christmas, we hold a work bee where the residents and staff team members put together baskets of items that can be of use to seniors in need who live in Belleville. We also do various bus outings in the town of Belleville and beyond. We go to the mall, casino, and various other shopping locations. Beyond the city, we enjoy going on trips to Tea Houses, museums, music events, theatre performances, and shopping & lunch trips, to name a few. And we always consider new places as they are suggested to us! There are daily Fun & Fitness classes that focus on elements of balance, strength, cardio and flexibility. The morning classes are best suited for those who are able to stand for the duration, and Sit & Be Fit classes (usually in the afternoon) for those who want to stay active but remain seated. We also have a salt water pool for those who enjoy the water, an outdoor walking track on the deck, and games indoors and outside (when weather permits) for those who enjoy other avenues to maintain a healthy active lifestyle. The menu offers a wide variety to all taste buds and the staff are very considerate to best accommodate for dietary needs. I can say from personal experience, that the food is top notch! I cannot touch on all the great things about Quinte Gardens, but I can say personally, that it is a pleasure to work here and be able to interact with the residents every day. I am always learning from them, and I strive to give back to them in any way I can. For those seeking for a place to call home...I'd say this is a BINGO!
We were really struggling to find my mom supports. We were in Full blown crisis at the time and Quinte Gardens staff were very accommodating and understanding of the situation we were in. They acted in a quick manner to get my mom the support and housing she required. My moms health has improved greatly since being at the home. She’s involved in a number of activities and feels a real sense of community at the home. Staff welcomed her with open and caring arms. My family is so grateful for Quinte Gardens and the lovely staff that keep it going.
An excellent place to call home. Thanks to all of the staff at Quinte Gardens for their time, expertise, patience and kindness with my Mother’s transition into her residence. I’m fortunate to be able to visit my Mother daily and to spend time not only with her but the staff and residents as well. Everyone is happy here and seem to enjoy each other’s company. The staff, from the first point of contact, are courteous, pleasant, informative and wear smiles easily. The dining experience is excellent (great tasting food with wonderful servers who are always accommodating). The place is beautiful, bright and has so much more than other retirement residences (saltwater pool, billiards and game room, gym with shuffleboard and equipment, library, movie room, chapel, entertainment room, salon and a beautiful outdoor garden). Very few retirement (compared to the places we visited) homes offer this many amenities. Everyone from the ground up (maintenance, kitchen employees, dining, reception, PSWs, entertainment, nurses and management and those that I’ve missed) deserve to be acknowledged. Thank you from the Malone family.
All the things that give me Positive feelings about Quinte Gardens Quinte Gardens makes me feel confident that I made the right decision to move here. As time rolls on these feelings have been confirmed over and over again! I remember the first day I arrived. The concierge at the time Lynda was speaking to the residents in a kind, caring and respectful way. I looked into the Fireside Lounge and there were residents reading and enjoying each other’s company. In the Bistro others were having coffee and some cookies. I continued to my new suite with my daughter. It was beautiful, bright, sunny and overlooking the garden. There is a gazebo, lots of birds and again people enjoying themselves. At the end of the day I was feeling a-little alone and lost ... but not for long. Marg one of the resident Welcoming Committee members appeared at my door all smiles and making me feel so Welcomed and lonely no more ! She guided me the first few days until I was comfortable but was always there if I needed her. The Dining room and kitchen- ALL great people do everything to please people. THANK YOU! I Love Thursdays! Housekeeping arrives and again they always want to be sure I am satisfied with their work. The Lifestyles group always coming up with trips they also challenge our minds (French, Italian classes). The enjoyment that they have give me goes on everyday. Last but not least. The Management Staff. They are always approachable and I have never heard them say “It’s not my job” Each and everyone of them make my life easier! Positive thoughts make colours brighter and stars sparklier! Put off all you worrying until tomorrow and the same thing tomorrow too! SBT
Quinte Gardens - A family of many I have had the pleasure of being Quinte Gardens in house Salon for 10 years. This being a pleasure is an understatement. Quinte Gardens is for me and many residents here our extended family! Quinte Gardens has a lively atmosphere of entertainment and Dance , expressions of Art with wine and paint night. Residents can enjoy the quieter locations through out the building like the library of hundreds of books for people to borrow and return at their own leisure. I have been included as family here for a long time , I attend the dances, my not so secret passion , Christmas and New Years parties. The feeling of inclusivity is incredible here. The welcoming warm feeling for new residents and their loved ones is what we all pride our selves on , We are family! I would not hesitate for a moment to bring one of my loved ones to live at Quinte Gardens, the amenity spaces are incredible and services second to none. There is a Salon 6 days a week and a tuck shop available , bus and van services for residents who feel the need to get up an go. Fitness , art, entertainment and and intellectual programming , no stone unturned to keep your loved one active and engaged. The staff understand and respect that we work in their home they don’t live in our work place ! I am proud to not only run a business here at the gardens but to call Quinte Gardens my family! Stylist to many...dance partner to all! Linda
I can’t say enough good about the initial experience we have had with the staff at QG! Wow! It’s been a very difficult process helping one’s aging parent choose and get settled into a new place, but Leanne, Kim and Robyn have certainly made this major transition in mom’s life as good as humanly possible. The words Compassionate, Caring, Understanding, Accommodating, Professional & Genuine stand out. I can see it’s not just a job to them! It’s a big thing to trust strangers with the well being of a loved one and from what we have experienced thus far, I can rest in knowing my mom is in good hands. ???????? The industry as a whole should take note of them and do their best to reproduce them or at the very least, emulate them and make what they do, the industry standard.
I believe we will never have true fulfillment until we have learned to recognize the need of our seniors. I work here at Quinte Gardens Retirement Residence as a housekeeper/ custodian/screener and I also do the odd shift as a PSW worker. I love working here because for me spending time with the residences reminds me of my own grandparents and how I always was loved helping and being around them! To me when I look at the residents here I see that I now have several grandparents to give all my attention to which I happily love to give them I have always wanted to work with the seniors and now that I have this chance I am happy right here where I am! For me it means a lot when you take a second of your time and have a conversation with the residents and have a good laugh with them, you see it means a lot to them too. They just want the company from you. I’m always trying to get their spirits up and reminding them that we are not just workers here we are an extended family with lots of love to give! The staff here are awesome to work with , we all work very well together and that makes a stress free environment.
The management doesn’t treat their employees properly which leads to a lack of staff and a lack of care for the senior citizens. The last straw for my family: Our 97 year old grandma was soaked all the way down to her socks with urine one day my Mom stopped in. Obviously hadn’t been taken to the bathroom all day. Not to mention that the contracted weekly bath hadn’t occurred in 4 weeks. Not to mention the outrageous cost of living there. I would not recommend this place to anyone I love.
I am currently a housekeeper here at Quinte Gardens and have worked here for approximately 12 years. One of the main reasons I really enjoy my job is there is a real team environment so there are also times that I assist in laundry. We all work together as a team to keep the resident suites clean at the highest standard possible. Understanding that we work in the resident’s home and that this is not just our work place is very important to recognize when working in a retirement residence. There are always good and bad days for people. When you work in housekeeping you bond with the residents and get to hear all of their amazing life stories, what makes them happy or sad, and their careers and different jobs in the past. Some of these stories can be pretty funny too! Making sure that we provide the highest standard of cleaning is very important but also being a listening ear for the residents is important too. This past year certainly has brought challenges that I do not thinking any of us could have imagined with COVID 19. I would not have wanted to work anywhere else as we have all been dedicated to keeping the residence safe, the residents have been amazing and diligent in helping keep each other one safe as well. There are little things every week that bring smiles to everyone’s face, like a resident that loves to bake and give treats to the staff , others love to tell funny stories. It is like a big family. I am proud to come to work everyday and give my 100% dedication to the residents
Quinte Gardens was a beautiful home when I was employed there, and the dining service provided to resident’s was fantastic. Unfortunately, there was very little understanding of the importance of infection control at that time, and there was no proper equipment for staff to utilize during emergencies. From a health and safety perspective, there were also serious concerns that there was also no formal fire drill training or other essential training for staff to ensure the safety of resident’s,...I hope this has changed Unfortunately, Quinte Gardens terminated my employment with them for raising health and safety concerns. Other reasons included that I wasn’t the right fit for the home because I “Smile” ???? too much, and me trying to organize a Union at Quinte Garden was not acceptable. I’m happy for the employment experience and the friendships I made ....and I’m still Smiling????
This is my first ever google review, hope I do this right ! I need a larger platform then just my voice to Express my gratitude to Quinte Gardens and the Alzheimer’s Society and google seemed right. Firstly, I am a resident at Quinte Gardens and I am proud to call “ The Gardens” home . My cats joined me here over 8 years ago and we have never looked back! To say I am happy living here just doesn’t do the statement justice. My family is grateful for my home and safety. The peace of mind they have knowing I am happy and living among friends is priceless. One of my many daily highlights is my dining mates. One which I have been with since the first day I moved in. The laughs we share and camaraderie at each meal is so important to connect with others. My love for people is a driving force to why for 22 Years I have hosted the Alzheimer’s Coffee Break bridge tournament fundraiser. This year in October we had 72 ladies whom I call my friends attend Quinte Gardens and we raised $2600.00 in donations towards Alzheimer’s research . To say I am Proud of these ladies is an understatement. Ecstatic , emotional , honoured and greatful beyond word . My age makes running an event like this a challenge because I want it to be perfect and when Quinte Gardens offered to stepped up to help organize, prepared the meal and served! I was so incredibly happy. For weeks I worked with the gardens staff to help plan out ever details. In partnership with the Alzheimer’s society the event went off with out a hitch! I am so proud to live in a Community that supports partnerships like the Alzheimer’s Society. I joined the Newcomers group in 1995, and a friends became the Director of the Alzheimer's Society. That is was motivated me to volunteer for them. It is an honour to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research and Live in a retirement residence that supports the passions of their residents. At any age especially seniors they need purpose and drive. I am a senior and still wanting to be a contributor to what I strong believe in and Quinte Gardens is a huge support of this! “ we remember their love when they can no longer remember” Senior in age “ Qeenager at heart” Gladys
Long walk to the building from the parking lot. Rooms terribly small and depressing. A little frightened by the dementia care floor.
After reviewing & touring some retirement residences close to where I live my mom & her partner moved into Quinte Gardens in Belleville just under 1 month ago & so far they are enjoying it. All of the staff members I have encountered have been very helpful & friendly. The meals are very good & I am so happy to have them living closer to me. I cannot comment on any of the activities as they haven't participated in any yet, however, I am sure with time they will.
I have been a permanent resident of Quinte Gardens for the past 1 and half years. Prior to moving in permanently, I spent 3 months here on a respite. I had fallen and severely damaged my knee. I was unable to return home to our family 2 - storey 4 bedroom house with lots of stairs until my injury healed. My wife had passed away 15 years ago and I lived alone. My daughters had made arrangements for me to come here for the respite. It was when I returned home that I realized it was time to down size. I found it very lonely living alone and having to get my own meals after being at Quinte Gardens. I really missed the people at Quinte Gardens. After a few months, I sold my house and moved to a studio suite. This was a huge adjustment for me but I certainly made the correct decision. Quinte Gardens is by far the “No. 1” Retirement Home in this area. It has so much to offer. I enjoy people and love to be busy. I was in the retail business for many years owning a family Hardware Store. There is so much here to keep you busy. One of the focal points is the beautiful garden. Residents are able to work in the gardens, helping to plant flowers, etc. There is nothing in the area that compares to this garden with its waterfall and goldfish pond. It is just like a park. No other Retirement Home can offer anything like this. It is amazing! The activities are great – something for everyone. Bus rides around the area, dinner out excursions and different entertainment, salt-water pool and exercise room with the latest equipment. All of these make a great and healthy living experience. The residents raise money during the year at special events. This money was donated to different charities at Christmas time. We also have an impressive train and Christmas village display that was featured in a local newspaper. Easter time we hatched ducks. I brought my incubator when I moved in. The Residents, family and friends were amazed to see the baby ducks hatch. We will be doing this again for Easter. This was a great attraction. If you are planning to come to a retirement home, check out Quinte Gardens and plan a visit for a tour and a complimentary meal. You will be amazed at the food, activities, friendly staff and more to offer with the independent lifestyle. Assistance is always available when needed. You will be impressed with what Quinte Gardens has to offer. It is the Best!
Why I love working for Quinte Gardens! Where should I start? I have worked at Quinte Gardens for twelve years and have held seven different positions. I have had incredible opportunities to grow not only as an employee but as a person in my time here. With every growth opportunity I have been supported, encouraged and always feel like I am being listened to and my impact counts. More important then my personal growth is the true feeling of family, friendship and inclusivity. The staff are deeply caring towards the residents and that is reflected in every interaction. We are a strong community , work together and know Quinte Gardens is way more then just a place I work! Thank you Quinte Gardens for always being steadfast, committed and passionate about seniors. I am proud to call you my extended family! Paul R
My Father's has been a resident of Quinte Gardens since January 2018. My family entrusted our very ill Father to their respite care program where he gradually began to regain better health. He moved permanently into a bachelor's apartment at Quinte Gardens when he could no longer properly look after his health and apartment. They helped him feel at home and adjust to his new surroundings from day one. He also requires complex medical care which they look after in a friendly and professional manner. Any issues that we bring up are dealt with in a timely manner. Dad has fostered new friendships with fellow residents and staff alike. We love visiting Dad and always feel welcome to engage in any activities going on. There are non stop activities going on every month! You can do lots, swimming, play pool, poker, shuffleboard, movies & music, the list is long! Or if you like to read and chill visit the beautiful library full of books and computers, there is something for everyone. The only complaint we have is with the food sometimes as guests but my Dad likes it lol The residence has recently changed ownership since then is when we noticed smaller food portions and overall quality. We will be monitoring and confident they will improve if we complain. I highly recommend Quinte Gardens! Michelle Brownell
I am a retired nurse, and this is my story. On September 14th 2015 I had a very bad fall, my neighbour found me on the floor at the end of my bed. I was then rushed to Nappanee hospital, I had 20 stiches and a very bad concussion, and I was in the hospital for 4 nights. After I left the hospital my sons and I went in to Belleville to look at 3 retirement homes, as they did not want me being at home alone any longer. This was a very hard decision as I wanted to stay in my own home, but I know my sons would worry about me if I did. On October 1st 2015 I moved in to Quinte Gardens, not knowing a single soul. I have been here now 4 years, and I was asked what do I like about living here at Quinte Gardens? I enjoy the salt water pool, all the different bus outings that I am able to participate in, lots of activities and entertainment, enjoy eating home cooked meals in the dining room where I don’t have to do the dishes, we are also very fortunate to have a library and hair salon right onsite. One of my favourite pastimes was playing cards, I still play cards and in doing so I have met a great group of people that I know call my friends. I do not drive any longer, and there is a van that runs 3 days a week, that takes me to my medical appointments. The staff are extremely friendly, and very helpful. I asked one of my friends what she likes about Quinte Gardens and she said “I like that I am taken care of”. I would like to say thank you to my boys, and I am very happy that they decided Quinte gardens was the best place for me.
I’ve read a few Google reviews and really enjoyed hearing about some of the other residents experience living here at Quinte Gardens. It gives me more of a sense of belonging. For several years my close friend Clarence and I started checking out the Retirement Residences in the Belleville area and found that Quinte Gardens suited our needs and interests the most by far. The location of Quinte Gardens is incredible, within walking distance to the bank, drugstores, grocery store and the post office is right across the road. Clarence and I are both have our own beautiful suites but wanted to share our day’s events and activities together. There is a feeling of belonging here at Quinte Gardens and we feel like we are well cared for. Though we are both very much independent Living residents we like the peace of mind knowing there are supports in place if we were to need any assistances. I grew up in a large family as did Clarence and we love the feeling and sense of Quinte Gardens, it is like a large family and there is always lots to celebrate living here. By far one of the most enjoyable areas is the Garden at the back, with the walkways. fish pond, flower gardens and lovely trees. There is usually someone in the garden on a bench or swing to talk to. We consider Quinte Gardens to be one of the safest places to live. During the COVID 19 Pandemic the staff has been very vigilant in keeping us safe from an outbreak here. Thank you for that and for all the extra steps you have taken to keep spirits up. You wouldn’t think in a pandemic we would be happy but living at Quinte Gardens brings us happiness everyday. A special “Thank You” to management team for taking the necessary precautions in keeping the residence virus free and always being there for us! We all sure make a great family and as we say, “Quinte Gardens is where friends become family! “
