I’ve purchased many plants from here over the years but now I go to The Root Cellar in Thomasburg because the people are nicer, the plants are better, and the prices are less. I once returned a bush that died immediately after I planted it and a woman in her 40’s was so rude to me about it and lectured me, and blamed me. I must have planted it wrong and it was my fault, she told me angrily. Another time I stopped in to ask questions about sprays and there was a meeting upstairs with about 15 staff. Not one staff member would come down to help or say hello or ask if I needed anything so I went outside and wondered around to give them some time and came back and couldn’t get any service.

Facility is nice, there is a pretty good selection of plants and trees on-site (some/quite a few of the plants/trees listed on the connon website as supposed to be at the Trenton location were not there or even at the farm in stock), and nice grounds. The plants/trees, mainly the plants, are very expensive compared to some other garden centers and nurseries, the place is generally understaffed and the staff that are there could be taking care of more tasks when they idle....Because many of the plants there are under-watered/very dry soil, and some plants/trees are diseased as I saw a few weeks ago and I went back a week later they were still there and the trees next to them were getting diseased from the first ones. I heard a few other people commenting on that too. Also there were many plants that were tipped over and no one who worked there put them upright again. Lastly the manager Stephen S. as I remember his name being has a pretty unfriendly tone and an attitude issue, kind of jerkish. Anyway, nice plants, for more info look above. Now a reply to the reply from owner I got on Google Reviews. Firstly, yes, I'm sure many of your diseased plants are removed from your yard, I'm just saying that when I went there were a few that weren't and that disease spread to plants of same species close by, mainly referring to trees in your center section on left. Also I used to be in landscaping, gardening, and have university level education in plant/shrub/tree diseases, pathogens, and wildlife/insect problems, so yes I am sure my judgement was accurate when identifying a few of your trees as diseased. Second, I know it is not possible to expect every plant/tree/shrub on your lot as seen on the website, but when I have a long list I am looking for and most are not there and the two or three main ones are not even at your farm, and that cannot be communicated to me from the beginning, yeah I have reason for my complaint. What I write is very in-context and justified, and whomever replied to my review talks about "unkind words"? Oh I could speak of unkind words and a terribly rude attitude from your manager there, 'during what is going on in the world'. The way I was spoken to from the manager was absolutely unacceptable, so for you to not even ask me what happened, that is so wrong. As a customer and member of this community I find it disheartening to be treated like this. And just because I have an experience at your lot that does not sound exactly like many other reviews you want to have my review taken down? Freedom of honest respectable speech so others can have an idea of the place. And just because he was there a while doesn't make his attitude any nicer, his work habits were not reflected in my statements, only his tone; so yeah, I think more people should know. Thank you google for letting me share my negative experience here.

Very friendly staff and a great selection of plants. It's worth it just to walk through and see what's there even if you aren't in the market for more plants. You'll probably find something you like anyway. Make sure you get the loyalty card because you can get a free plant once in a while.

This is a wonderful nursery! There is a wide array of plants available - veggies, flowers, fruit, even trees! The space is wide and beautiful. There are excellent safety protocols in place. The workers make the process run very smoothly and efficiently during peak times. It was wonderful.

This is a terrific garden centre with a large selection of flowers, herbs, perennials, bushes, trees and garden supplies ..... even after the great rush in May. It is open for in-store (or on-site) shopping. Customers and staff were practising good Covid guidelines when I recently visited.

I have been to Connon nurseries more times than I can count and the staff have been very friendly and knowledgeable. I've always been greeted by multiple staff throughout the nursery. They have a wide selection of plants, and trees. Their stock never seems to disappoint. Any time there has been any issues, it has been dealt with appropriately and always goes above your expedition. Great environment and great customer service! I highly recommend Connon Nurseries for your outdoor planting needs.

I love this place as this was my 1st trip in this year was very discouraged by the response I received upon entering as I was told that the cart that was out front was not sanitized very rudely. The sanitized carts are inside as all the customers should know this by all the signs that weren't posted. So I asked where where the signs that says this so customers don't take these carts and are to take the ones inside. I was told customers don't read the signs anyway. So this thinking that I might have missed one I asked is there one there ,she said no someone is making one now...just a suggestion the carts that are clean should be as soon as you go in as the elderly or people with disabilities don't want to double back or have someone standing there telling people everything . Upon leaving there was still no sign.. Great customer service from the cashier and the other lady who helped me with some questions I had about plants.

Quality plants ... but on the quiet day that I was there, while seeking advice from a staff member, someone took my cart, unloaded the plants I spent 30 minutes picking out, and left them jammed together on a nearby shelf. Frustrated, I politely mentioned this to a staff member, checking to see if perhaps carts were not supposed to be left unattended for a few minutes. Immediately, she went on a rant about how it wasn't her fault --which didn't help! Arriving home, I discovered that two of the perennials I'd chosen were missing. An unsuccessful trip. People can be so disappointing!

I’m appalled after leaving Connon Nurseries / Connon Nurseries in Trenton today. My wife and I bought some vegetable seeds and the manager followed us out to the parking lot and accused me of stealing! She said she saw me put something in my pocket. When she realized she was wrong, she said sorry, she was just going with her gut. How do you accuse someone of stealing on a guess or gut feeling?? I left very upset, and decided to turn around and go back to return the seeds and get my money back. We are senior citizens who have shopped at Connon for many years, and spent many dollars. Never been so insulted. Will never go back. This is the woman who approach me claim she is the manager.

Great products and great service. In early May I phoned this nursery looking for a Korean azalea (azalea mucron). I spoke to Marina who said she would check and call me back. The next day she called back indicating that there were none in stock but she would do a wider check of suppliers and would get back to me if she found any. About 2 weeks later she called again to say that she had found some and that they were at the nursery and would hold them for me, not even requiring my credit card. I drove 325 km (one way) the next day to purchase them . I even got a three year guarantee. Great staff and service. Thanks so much!

I have not been impressed with customer service when I purchased a new plant with a small portion from a store credit, it did not warrantee the plant because $14 of the $52 dollar plant was from the credit. On two previous visits I brought in two malfunctioning sprayers for deer blood and the suggested solution was to sell me a spray bottle because their poor product!? I got better service at Home Depot and Canadian Tire in Belleville.

My husband and I will never shop there again . The service was terrible. We returned our dead apple tree with a 3 year guarantee. We got the nth degree thrown at us, as if it was our fault or we were lying ????. Never again. We moved here from Pembroke and have never had any problems in the past.

Exceptional service! It is may 17th and most other places were already sold out of almost everything but they have alot of selection still. I was particularly impressed at the way check out was organized. Very friendly staff, clean, sanitary, following all guidelines strictly, and the organization is 10/10. Well, well, well! What a surprise reading some of the other complaints about your Trenton site, only to find them practically identical to our poor experience (they are practically interchangeable with ours.) I’m thinking that the problem is deeply systemic. The idea that you would speak rudely, or use sarcasm when apologizing, or blame the customer’s reaction or behavior, when really, it was your employee’s fault, is beyond comprehension. My husband and I DID complain, and we DID send an email about the manager/employee that was so rude. The response/apology turned out to be a couple of self-serving paragraphs of lip service, with a heavy dusting of passive aggressive “mea culpas” thrown in. There’s trouble in Trenton, Connon Nurseries and, from the response/apology we were given, it doesn’t seem likely that you have any intention of fixing it. Don't forget, it starts at the top and makes a greasy slide all the way down. There are many other garden centers in our community that are NOT as expensive, are knowledgeable, and still appreciate and know how to ensure a happy customer experience. I know, because we left Connon’s immediately following the, “miserable ‘blame the dumb customer’ employee, vibe,” and went elsewhere.

Our visits to the Trenton location over the years have always been very good, however this year they have been exceptional. The staff from the greater who is cleaning carts and welcoming customers to the nursery staff to the information counter staff (especially Jane) all seem to have made an exceptional effort to rise to the challenges required to keep their customers and themselves safe. Really well done you should be proud of how your are helping a 'locked down' public lift their spirits through gardening. We appreciate the effort, thank you.

Stay away from this place!!!! They will over charge you for items (the manager even said out loud admitting that she knew those have been coming up the wrong price of 2$ higher all day) and when I asked for a refund and brought up the SCOP the very rude manager Debb Poole, said “we do not follow such practice here, you can take the 2 refund or not” and continued to laugh in my face making me feel like I did something wrong even though I was 100% in the right. Honestly how much money have you stolen out of people’s pockets doing this shady business move? As someone who has already spent over 500$ here this year I will make sure I will never ever come back.

Went today to get two standard trees and requested some help. The woman that showed us some was asked by another worker to help another customer so she walked away and never returned. Not a “I’ll be right back”. Just went and served other customers. So, they lost a $500 - $700 sale. Won’t be back.

Not happy with Connon this year. Selection was really limited, although I know it's not great anywhere. Their covid response is not very well organized. Not enough staff to manage the crowd. Management blaming customer for speaking out at the chaos telling people they need to be patient and more tolerant of their poor management. I won't be returning anytime soon

Quality inventory and generally great staff. Covid19 response needs work. Clear signs and understanding of how to enter facility. When I arrived there was no one at the entrance, walked in and was turned around by the late attendant. Picked out my purchases with great assistance from staff. Then rudely told to stand on a little blue dot by a rock, but leave my cart in another location not clearly marked. Again attendant was not there initially. Let’s clearly mark things guys! Don’t worry, you are much better than the Root Cellar in Thomasburg.
