Here is the best advice I can give you... do not ever do business with spano paving. Excavated our driveway in November 2017. Promised to pave it in May 2018. Finally finished the job August 23 of 2018. They kept telling me the paving crew was not working in simcoe county. Based on this I assume they only have one paving crew? Worried the driveway will not stand up to test of time. Spotty edging and uneven roller tracks. Consistently frustrating to try to contact or get a straight answer from. Like other reviewers I believe they really don't care about smaller jobs or Simcoe County. Which is fine. But then don't tell customers you will do the job!

I am so impressed by Frank and his team. I had emailed for a quote and next day he showed up to give me and estimate. It was the long weekend when I emailed him to tell him I'd like to proceed as his quote was extremely well priced. He emailed me back right away to say he could come that following week to lift my old driveway out. The lines of communication were fantastic. Very responsive and professional. His team of guys were very respectful and left my area tidy after removing the pavement. 3 weeks later he called to say they would be coming to put the new asphalt down. I was amazed at how quickly they worked (it was a large team). They were in and out and didn't disrupt anything. I HIGHLY recommend Spano Paving!

Frank stayed in touch with us over several years before we decided to proceed. We were able to see Spano's good work in the area. We felt they did a fantastic job from the very beginning to the end. Fast, clean, professional. Initially they removed the old drive, put down a deep layer of substrate and we drove on that for a month or so. Frank also worked closely with our landscape contractor Credit River Landscapes, who we also felt did a fantastic job. We can't say enough good things about Spano's work - highly recommend! Fair pricing, top quality work and really great to work with.

I had Spano Paving replace my driveway four years ago and they did a fabulous job. I recently noticed a small crack down the center of my driveway so I called Frank to get his opinion. Not only did he answer my call immediately, he showed up at my house within 24 hours to repair it himself. I highly recommend Dealing with Frank and Spano Paving!

This is the worst company I ever worked with. They Asphalt my driveway in Barrie. After two weeks weeds started to show up. I have been calling all available phone numbers to somehow fix the problem. But nobody answered. Don't work with this Company. Never.

Spano came and tore up our driveway and said they would be back in 3 weeks to put the new asphalt. After multiple phone calls and it’s been almost 7 weeks now... still nothing. Only to find out today that it will be another 2 or so weeks. Absolutely ridiculous.

The worst company I have ever tried dealing with. They came to measure and look at redoing my driveway. They came after a while of asking and gave a price. We agreed and booked it. After 3 weeks of the expected install date not hearing anything back or no one reaching out we called one last time and promised someone would be by next week. No show Monday, no show Tuesday and then were promised Wednesday, two guys showed up looked at it and then left. No one ever reached back out. I sent a final email expressing my displeasure and disbelief how a company can run like and still no answer. Please be careful if you choice to deal with this company.

I engaged Spano to do our rather large driveway as early in May as possible. The quote was a bit sparse but competitive. All the other quotes lacked either a reasonable review or were higher with no apparent benefit. I got a call from Spano on Monday in 2nd week of May and the driveway was finished by lunch on Wed of the same week. The quality level was very good with much better drainage than the old drive, good attention to detail such as micro swales, straight lines, edges and edge tapers. I would recommend them.

Driveway cracked less than a review and so far Spano is refusing to fix it, as per their warranty. Completely unprofessional in their approach. no customer service and nothing but misdirection by the sales person. Incredibly frustrating to deal with a company like this

Spano Paving responded quickly to our request for a quote and scheduled a time to check our driveway, whereas many companies didn't even return a call. Frank answered all our questions and that of our neighbours, who also had their driveways done with Spano. On the scheduled day, the crew arrived early and ready to go. Frank was here overseeing his crew and ensuring everything was done properly. HIs team worked like a well oiled machine and were also very friendly. We needed our commercial parking lot redone and Frank, from Spano Paving, returned our call promptly to schedule an on site visit. He came twice to plan for the project, explain the scope of the work, and answer all of our questions. He coordinated with us to make sure that all the necessary prep work was completed to ensure the crew could start on time. The day the project began, he was here at 6:15am, overseeing the various trucks and workers, making sure the work was completed with efficiency and excellence. When the clock struck 7am, the well-oiled Spano team kicked into high gear and worked with flawless precision and perfection. When unforeseen little issues were encountered, the trouble shooting was efficient and the problems were fixed and dealt with without any additional charges added to the quote. The whole process was seamless and we were educated throughout all aspects of the project. The outcome looks fantastic and I have no doubt it will last for years because the quality and experience the company delivered was obvious. Lost a lot of money last year not using the right contractor. Met Spano Paving this year and have done a number of driveways and honest to god these guys are killing it. If your looking for a company that will tell it as it is, that will take care of your best interests and obviously do really nice work, call these guys all day long. This review has been posted due to Spano paving’s professionalism, or lack thereof. It appears several of the Simcoe County paving companies can benefit from a clinic in professionalism, not to mention time management. After 2 other paving contractors failed to show when promised, Spano was conveniently in the area and left a flyer at our door, this rather impressed us! I went outside to greet their agent and inquire as to how soon they would be able to complete our already demolished driveway; all that was required was a grade & pave. Their agent, identifying himself as the manager for the Barrie region advised us the job could be completed in as little as 1 hour; we scheduled immediately for the first week of July. As the date came closer this individual requested a $30.00 sum for purchasing a permit to pave our driveway- the job seemed to be imminent… Spano paving arrived early, only to be stopped by the rain. As rain will understandably delay any outdoor work, we empathized that their crew needed to pack up and reschedule for a dryer day. Our frustrations started as several 28 degree days, all without any rain in the forecast came and went: The follow-up (much like the original companies) became non-existent. We learned in dealing with several contractors that a $1500 to $2000.00 residential job pales in comparison to massive, better-paying commercial contracts… Everyone looking for driveways gets placed on the proverbial “back-burner” in favor of building developers, plaza parking lots, roadways, etc… The rain was not responsible for the inexcusable delays, pushing larger contracts to the front of the line was! Spano paving was called out on such practices and requests to speak with the operator or General Manager fell on deaf ears. Several messages (as many as 6) went unanswered until the individual we’ve been dealing with from the Barrie location called back to berate us for trying to escalate the matter with senior management. This individual used several profanities and foul language inappropriate in the context of a consumer complaint. Fast forward to August- Spano paving did complete the work after 4 delays almost a month behind schedule. Their next move was to try and extort additional funds, or threatened to “come back and excavate our new driveway.” When I showed the signed contract and assured them no additional monies were forthcoming, they relinquished their claim to this mysterious $300.00 charge not found anywhere in the contract. While working, Spano contractors also used and dirtied our hose taken from the rear of the home without permission; we now need to purchase a new hose used (exclusively) for the Hot tub. We also feel obliged to purchase a gift certificate for our neighbors who graciously allowed us to use their driveway in the midst of this fiasco. I have left another message with Spano paving’s Toronto office to which no response is forthcoming- seems par for the course. Regardless of the paving company one selects, be careful to ensure these organizations are taken to task concerning total amounts due on completion and dates promised- avoiding Spano paving for future work is also a safe bet!

Spano Paving did our driveway two years ago and did a professional and clean job. The staff was friendly and quick and used high quality material. Frank consistently visited us for several years, built up a rapport with us and when we were ready, we hired Spano Paving. Frank is in sales but he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty and knows this business. He has answered calls quickly and has come back twice to look at and advise us on developing cracks that are problem due to tree roots and an unavoidable sinkhole that was dug up and filled to the best possible result. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Spano Paving!
