I dropped off my Toro tractor with blower for auger repairs on Monday morning, and they hand everything ready by Friday afternoon. I was back blowing snow by Friday evening and it was just in time for all this record snow we received Thank-you!

Very nice people, but my snowblower was stolen from their delivery truck when being returned to my residence. I concede, the machine was older, but it was purchased from a family friend that was meticulous in taking care of it (there wasn't a scratch or any rust whatsoever.) I appreciate the fact that this is a very strange and unpredictable situation, but I am out the $300+ for the repairs and pick-up/delivery charge and the $300 I originally paid for the snowblower. They did present a replacement in working condition, but I do not feel it is in anyway the same quality as the machine I lost. I did accept it, but I really had no options other than receiving a credit for the work that was done which could be applied to a new machine. Furthermore, I could not afford to haggle and drag this on during the winter season. I have a heart condition and my wife has MS, so shoveling by hand is out of the question. Again, I do understand that this was a very different type of situation that was out of Mercer's control, but I am not fully satisfied with the way this was handled. I will conclude on a positive note by saying that the staff are really friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. I would recommend them for repairs, but would advise on establishing what coverage they have in place for rare instances such as these.

I have ordered parts from Mercer many times without issue. on the last order they said 3-5 days. 11days later I phoned and they said they don’t know when they will arrive. Fair enough I asked for a refund because I could get them from another supplier the same day. They refused my prepaid refund, and just lost a repeat customer over $27. Poor customer service from Mercer!

I dropped off My Toro snowblower for maintenance and when I picked it up it wasn’t running right. I called and let them know I would drop it off the week after due to my work schedule. They made it a priority to look at it right away and called me with the issue and went over and above to earn my business. My schedule is busy and they had no problems accommodating me during this time of year. My Toro now runs like new again. Thank you Mercer equipment.

Last summer we purchased a lawn tractor from them, we needed to send it back in for some very minor adjustments. We called them on a weekly basis to see if it was ready and they said it was not ready. A month later my husband walked in and the technician told him it had been ready for weeks, yet the owner told us repeatedly it it wasn’t ready because of other people ahead of us. Then we stupidly bought a snowblower from them, we have had to send it back for warranty repairs (belt tensioner , pulley and belt) it has been there for five weeks!!! They said it will be ready for February 24. This place is a joke and we do NOT recommend!! You’re better off buying from Walmart.

I wish I found this place awhile ago. Shelly is great to deal with and very knowledgeable and friendly. I’m sure they are busy but the mechanic had my unit looked at the same day and ordered the appropriate parts to fix the problem and it was fixed in a couple of days. Runs just like new now! Will return in the future for sure.

Great experience with recent purchase from the young lady P showing different types of snow blowers to Steve answering mechanical questions-P just forgot to call when it would be delivered-however it came the next day --Shelly helped with noise problem having Jamie stop by and look at issue--overall unless knocking sound from high speed to low speed becomes a further issue when in put into usage once snow arrives it has been a great experience dealing with Mercer equipment --all staff are wiling and eager to assist the customer with a very welcoming approach. Just sorry cannot remember the young lady's name who welcomed me into their show room but believe it started with a P.-sorry do not remember the name of person who delivered machine but he was very cordial as well. --Mercer Equipment keep up the excellent customer interaction.

Not impress with customer service. Had to go in twice to pick up parts that I had ordered because they forgot to give me the full order even when they had it in stock. Price quoted over the phone for parts doubled when I went to pick up and I was told that they quoted me the wrong price from an old price list.

Amanda helped me track down all the parts for my exploded axle on an old 2004 Tecumseth lawn tractor, which is made by Briggs and Stratton and sold under the Craftsman name. (I know...) This tractor won't give up so I haven't either. I think the parts cost me less than $20. Due to the complicated product lineage for the tractor and really crazy part numbers throughout 3-5 manufacturers and distributors it was not going well for me on locating correct parts. Amanda did a super job. She also had a range of parts onsite once she narrowed in on the engine. Based on my time with Mercer I will keep going to this business for service, parts and advice. With the Sears parts location now closed it is a good thing Mercer is in Barrie. They are also really pleasant to deal with! Highly recommend, Martin

I’ve just found Mercer Equipment on Currie St in BARRIE. Needed a part for my whipper snipper. Very helpful over the phone & in person. Staff were happy to help me find the model # and order my part. Best part of the experience was meeting Nala, the shop dog, who greeted me with a smile at the door & walked me to the counter. She sat beside me the whole time I was there. I had taken my Stihl 038 AV to a Stihl dealer since the pull cord could not be pulled. They said there was not a problem with it, that I likely wasn’t strong enough to pull the cord anymore. This didn’t strike me as a reasonable explanation so I took my saw to Mercer as I had had a positive experience with them the other time I had dealt with them. Dillon tried it in front of me to confirm that the problem existed. It did. Shelly fixed the problem and gave me a good explanation as to what the cause was. She said in Service they didn’t see the start problem either and that the cause could have been something slightly out of place or a foreign object preventing the cord from being pulled. Now it starts as easily as previously. I want to thank Dillon for confirming the problem in front of me and Shelly for her clear explanation of the work that was done .

From their south end shop to their North end shop I have to say I have never been disappointed, the employees at Mercer Equipment have always helped me with every inquiry I have had regarding parts, repairing my lawn mower and servicing my snow blower's. All in all an excellent experience and highly recommended.

Avoid this place at all costs, they ruined a good lawnmower after I brought it in for a basic tuneup. Paid for them to fix it twice and still doesn’t work right. Do not waste your money, try somewhere else. All they had to say was tough luck, and offered no solution other than another paid service. Brutal experience Dear manager, thank you for your timely response. I had to called your location three times in the last few days to get a response/calm back as the mower again didn’t function properly after your second attempt to fixing your first mistakes (engine ceased). You ended up charging me again for the additional parts you had to install to fix it the second time (likely caused by your first service failure). After I didn’t get a response back fro my messages , so I drove to your location today with the lawnmower. I expressed it’s inability to do the job properly as the lawnmower engine no longer has sustainable power due to the first service that was completed that ended in ceasing the engine after 1.5 cuts and covering myself and the lawn in oil. Yes you did take it over to a small patch of grass and pushed the mower 10 feet and said there it works, but believe me when I say that I would not have taken the time out of my day To load my lawnmower up and drive it 25 minutes over there Had there been no issues! It was the worst it’s ever been! Barley cut our grass and sputtered out every 5 feet at the house. I asked if there was something we could do about the charges for the lawnmower, and then I politely asked if we could make a deal to buy a new lawnmower from you in efforts to make things right and you said sorry there is nothing you can do. you had the opportunity to sell today me a new lawnmower today and instead you told me there is nothing you could do and for me to leave with the machine the way it is and maybe sell it on kijiji. All I can say is that I am disappointed, my machine does not work, I spent roughly $300 in repairs and even purchased a trimmer from your shop in my last visit. Good thing I did, as that Is what I will have to use to cut my grass with now moving forward. Wish you were at all fair with me, as after 3 trips to your shop, $ 300 in repairs , getting covered in oil, it’s the principle of it all. You were not fair with your customer, you did not fix my machine as you said you would (and was paid for), you cost me time and money, and I think it’s fair to let others know about this experience so that they don’t go down the same rabbit hole. It was a total waste of time and money.

This place was the biggest joke in barrie. Would never return phone calls, had my lawn mower for 3 months and kept trying to blame the ridiculously slow service on covid. I wouldn't let any of these people work on my wheelbarrow.....I've really tried to give this company the benefit of the doubt, but each time I call I'm confronted with disappointment. I've tried to get parts for my stihl trimmer and every time I call the stihl website is down. So not only can you not get parts. But it looks like old habits die hard with this company.
