When first meeting with Scott, his passion for nature showed through. He was thorough in explaining why the trees had to be cut rather than trimmed. For me, this kind of knowledge and passion is important. This is why I chose this company. The crew consisting of Marc, Greg, and Greg were excellent. The arrived on time, set up their equipment quickly and examined the trees needing to be removed in order to come up with the best and most efficient plan. They work safely and communicate effectively, which is very important. They take great care of neighbouring houses and always put safety first. The work was done quickly - approximately 1.5 hours per tree (and these were big, mature trees). Cleanup was impeccable. It's almost as if they weren't there at all. Communication with the office was easy, as well. They worked really hard to work with my unusual schedule until we finally had a date set in stone. I first heard of Lakeside Tree Experts when my neighbour had a problem with a huge tree in his backyard, which was actually on Steele Street School property. The Simcoe County District School Board sent Lakeside Tree Experts to take care of the job. In the following weeks I saw Lakeside Tree Experts at other locations in our old East End Barrie neighbourhood. We had a large maple tree (taller than our 2 storey house) that had "seen better days" and we knew it was needing to come down but we dreaded the expense and mess! Called Lakeside and they were out the following day to do a FREE quote. We were pleased with the price and extremely fortunate because they were in the area and completed the work that same day! The team of 3 young men who came to our house were professional, polite, safety conscious and extremely efficient! It was exciting to watch them scale the tree, rope off branches to be lowered to the ground and remove all debris within 2+ hours. The staff worked extremely well as a team and the site was spotless when they were done! I was grateful for the advice I was given when asking about other trees on our property. This company does a fantastic job... from Jenn in the office to the people who come to your home...10/10!!! Highly recommend this company for excellent price and service!

For many years our view of Lake Simcoe had become more obscured by a large Maple tree in front of our cottage/home. When the branch started to die and gradually became a menace to anyone below, we decided to do something about it. We contacted Lakeside Tree Experts about four weeks ago. The branch and others involved with it have been expertly removed along with a problem tree in a hedge at the side of the house. Two fellows did this work. They were very efficient in their cutting down, cutting up of the large branches, cleaning up of all the debris, and grinding up of the smaller branches. I hired these people to remove 5 very large dead or dying ash trees along the side of my lengthy driveway. While I have a 14 inch chain saw, wood chipper and wood splitter, major parts of this job, such as accurately felling trees this large were well beyond my capabilities. I asked Lakeside to cut the trees into firewood lengths and split those portions beyond the capability of my 2 ton electric splitter. I told them I would take care of chipping the branches. Based on my discussions with other arborists, I discovered that my job requirements were generally outside the scope of their normal services. In any event, I received a very competitive quote from Lakeside. I particularly liked the fact that they would climb the two largest trees to remove the branch spread at the top of the tree thus insuring there would be minimal damage to surrounding trees as these big trees came down. Attached are video's of the last few moments prior to the felling these trees. These show the accuracy of the felling and the lack of impact to the surrounding trees. Simply put: I couldn't be happier! The video includes a picture of the crew. Both were incredibly nice, competent, young men. They also maintained appropriate COVID distancing with both me and themselves at all times. My dealings with Scott, who provided the estimate, were also first rate. During his site visit, he pointed out a number of helpful items about my managed forest. I received Lakeside's invoice this morning. It was exactly as quoted. Under all the circumstances, I highly recommend this company and will definitely hire them again when needed.

So far very happy with service. They arrived for estimate when arranged. Quote was very detailed so no miscommunication. Work commenced days earlier than arranged but early is good. I will comment on the work shortly as the work is in progress today. Crew is friendly, knowledgeable and they work together great. My property was treated with care. Great crew! We are thrilled with Lakeside's service and highly recommend them. Two years ago we hired another tree service company to trim a majestic white pine that had been on our property for more than 75 years. Even though they told us that they would remove no more than 25% of the live canopy, they actually removed about half. Later that summer we had landscaping done on the property by another company who added 8" of top soil on top of the tree's roots. Within two months the tree died. Neither company would take responsibility for their part in killing the tree. We called Lakeside for a second opinion. Derek, one of their arborists, visited the property in July and said that it was probably a combination of over-pruning and root compaction that killed the tree. He also noticed that one of the new pine trees that the landscaping company planted was dying. We asked Derek if he could remove the dead and the dying trees and plant two additional trees as well. He made recommendations as to what type of trees we should plant based on soil conditions and available light exposure. He suggested that the planting be deferred to the fall when it is cooler and said that the dead tree would be removed at the same time. Lakeside gave us a quote that was very reasonable and we arranged to have the work done on September 23. Derek and his crew showed up at 8:30 on the arranged date and immediately got to work. He consulted with both members of his crew on the safest approach to taking down the white pine so that it wouldn't fall on our neighbour's septic system. This was a fairly simple job and a junior crew member did the actual removal under Derek's supervision. The other member of his crew used a stump grinder to remove the stumps from both trees. Derek noticed another dead tree on our neighbour's property and asked if we would like to have it removed. My neighbour agreed and because this tree needed to be felled precisely on the property line he did the job himself. They removed all of the debris from both trees. The crew took their time, carefully planting the replacement trees and told me exactly how to care for them until they adapted to their new environment.
