UPDATE #3: An office representative has been in contact and has notified me my new panel will be delivered in 6 weeks since it's a custom order. I will keep updating until the repair is fully completed! UPDATE #2: Michael, the repairman, came and semi-fixed the door on site! To fully finish the repair they had to place an order to replace one of my glass panels. For these reasons I've given them 3 stars and will continue to update once the repair has been fully completed. UPDATE #1: Tony called right away and is sending someone to take a look at it. Original Post: Where do I begin, I purchased my new front door on December 2016. It was fine at first but we noticed a small gap at the bottom of the door. We called in to have it looked at and they told us that "It needed a gap for the summer months and it will tighten come winter". It did not tighten. Winter came and the snow started blowing in through the gap! We called again but no one got back to me. With every summer and winter the door has loosened and tightened on an angle. Which means now, four (4) winters later, the door needs to be pushed hard in order to close it because it is super tight at the top and super loose at the bottom. So much so, that it has ruined the paint job and ruined some of the insulation (see attached pictures). Wish I could post a video because I do have one. I believe it was not hung correctly during installation and all I want is for it to be fixed because I paid $6,000 dollars for it! I'll keep you posted if they end up fixing it but for now I cannot recommenced Kempenfelt windows and doors to anyone. FINAL UPDATE: Fixed and it's perfect!

The installation crew were excellent. We are very pleased with the installation, quality and great workers. The entrance doors and windows are very good quality and well installed. Our house is more comfortable now, no drafts at any of the windows or entrance doors. We have actually lowered the thermostat a degree and house is still more comfortable than before. The improvement is so good we have now ordered the rest of the windows, including basement ones. Now the rest of our new windows have been installed. A different crew, just as professional and great quality as the first installation crew. We definitely recommend Kempenfelt Windows and Doors.

We are high maintenance clients with a lot of concerns and questions. Brent was patient and took care to ensure that our answers were resolved and even made site visits. We consider ourselves lucky especially considering our large order of 29 windows, a front door and patio door. From consultation/quotes to measuring to installation, Kempenfelt has been very communicative, responsive and professional. There are no sales gimmicks, their costs are their costs. Other companies we got quotes from would offer 5-15% over Kempenfelt's but then say, they'll give us 25% off or "free doors" or "free windows." Kempenfelt windows are great alone, but the quality of installation is of equal importance. Dave & Jesse's team were punctual, highly skilled, thorough and respectful. This company has pricier windows/doors but they come with peace of mind and are so high quality, both of which I truly appreciate, especially these days, you know pandemic and all lol. Thanks again! Now we have to work on our landscaping to match our lovely windows/door ????

Had a terrible experience with Mike. Came to measure and quote our windows and doors more than 2 months ago now, still haven't even received a basic quote. Said the windows were going to be ordered and would take 2 weeks to arrive... nothing, more than 2 months later. Completely unresponsive for weeks on end. We called the office to find out for ourselves and nothing had even been ordered yet. I get that it's a busy time, and maybe it's not the most valuable job, but its very unprofessional to promise something and give a timeframe of when it can be expected, and then to not meet that promise and drop of the face of the earth. Terrible customer service, I will never use this company for any of our future homes. Moving on to a company that actually wants our business.

Sept 16th 2016, We installed 5 new European tilt and turn windows (1 main picture window, 4 in the front 2 upper bedrooms)1 rain glass awning window, 2 frosted windows, 2 emergency escape windows and 1 fixed frosted window. We got 5 quotes previous to contacting this company...their quote was reasonable and we used their financing option. The installers (contactors) installed 12 windows and pre primed window trim on the interior as well as Charcoal color metal trim casement/ matching silicone on the exterior. TOP notch...thank you Side note*** 7am this morning I picked up 2 tubes of color matching silicone for my doors from their contracts site on Mills st in Barrie (arranged by a simple call to their office) The gentleman I received the silicone from was very nice and spoke clearly and respectfully. Thank you to the installer. I would recommend this company to my family & friends, Cheers!

We ordered our windows from Kempenfelt in Aug of 2020 for a new home build. Unfortunately due to COVID, the windows were severely delayed. Kempenfelt provided regular status updates to the best of their abilities, and even came over to install poly over the window openings to improve the situation within their ability. Tony the shop manager was truly fantastic through this process. When we eventually got the windows, they were stunning, and exactly what we had hoped for. For such a large and complex project, the windows were all made exactly as expected. We researched over 6 different window manufacturers including aluminum, wood with aluminum cladding, fibreglass, and vinyl, and I would definitely go straight back to Kempenfelt for future projects. A huge differentiator for us was the steel reinforced vinyl. It allowed us to do very large single piece glass windows which turned out amazing Would highly recommend

This is the second time we've used Kempenfelt Windows and Doors - first for all of the windows and doors in our home - and this time for the garage doors and openers. Both times supported why these guys are number one in Barrie. We had multiple installers over several days as our garage doors and older home presented some challenges. Darryl explained everything clearly. Darryl and Josh completed the work today. Darryl and Mike were involved previously as was another Mike and several other guys I neglected to get the names of. All of them very professional, skilled and courteous. The one time they were a little late, Darryl called to let me know in advance. Once completed they explained about the weather protection, cleaning of the door and all aspects of its operation. They helped make sure that my new code worked too. The job site area was very clean after they were done. In the future if I need my windows done I will be using the same company and I hope they are the installation team for that too.

You can tell when someone cares about doing the job right and these guys took care of us. They installed mostly casement and awning windows in our 1920s era double brick home, and it looks fantastic. ALL ABOUT THE SERVICE... When we decided to replace our garage doors we purchased through Scott at Kempenfelt. He sold me a quality Garaga product with a great wall mount opener package, suggested a colour I wouldn't have tried, and we love it! When we had some concerns after installation and put the name to the test, Mike & his team were there, listened and acknowledged all my concerns. A visit was quickly planned and when Darryl & Josh showed up I knew I was in good hands. They listened and agreed with my few concerns with the expressed goal of my total satisfaction! I was so impressed with their knowledge, desire and attention to detail, I relaxed knowing I had chose the right company. We visited Kempenfelt Windows and doors Barrie showroom a few weeks back to look at front entry and patio doors. We obtained a quote, on a patio door, one that was in the showroom and a front door system. We left to continue price comparisons and finally decided to go ahead and have the patio door installed. I called the sales rep, talked over the phone about what we wanted and scheduled an appointment for him to come out and provide a final quote, after confirming measurements. At this appointment, I was quoted a price almost $500 more than what we discussed in the showroom. When I asked why, I was told the price quoted in showroom that day was for a white patio door and not the espresso colour we wanted, the same colour on the patio door in the showroom. The sales rep reply was that he always quotes basic white as the base price. ???? I didn’t ask for white, in fact, I don’t think they have a white patio door in their showroom and we made it clear we wanted that exact door in that colour. I had already decided that when I replace all the windows and patio door, I want something other than white, and asked about that while booking the in home estimate with the sales rep. I asked if the colours offered with the patio door are the same as the windows. No miscommunication there, or so I thought I was also informed that the colour is only on the exterior of the door and if I wanted espresso on both sides, that would be an additional $1000. None of this information was provided in the showroom where we made it clear the exact door we would like and inquired then about lead time for install. I felt it important to write this review. These window and door companies stress the need to come into your home to “measure” and sum up the job…. What a joke. It’s all about in your face, in your space sales tactics and I’m not buying it…literally! I will seek out a company that manufactures there product and is knowledgeable on those products they make and warranty AND able to offer proper, valid quotes for the ACTUAL product the customer is looking to purchase. In the end Kempenfelt, you’ve wasted enough of my time and will not get my business or referrals.

He has been accessible every time I reached out to him, and invited me to call should issues arise. We went there to ask about installing a garage door, the owner did not like what we wanted, said he knows what looks good and what not. He said ‘fine I’ll take a look at your place, took our address and never called back assuming we were not mature enough to afford to buy from him anyways.

Sales person was great, came prepared with a large catalogue and pictures for choosing from. Installation was significantly delayed (4 months from purchase) but the crew was efficient and tidy. This company unfortunately limits the amount that can be charged to your credit card to a total of 5000.00 per contract. It is not clearly explained during the purchase process and can be cumbersome when final payments are due in excess of the 5000.00 (including initial deposits). I would not recommend this company to others due to the limits they impose on credit cards.

Highly recommend Kempenfelt Windows & Doors, we had 7 windows and a new door with side windows installed recently. Both crews (1 crew for the windows and 1 crew for the door) were very professional very careful with protecting our hardwood floors during the installation. Both crews got along and worked so well together which was great because more often then not when you have a crew that big, some don’t get along with others and it comes out in their workmanship, not in this case the workmanship was top notch, after inspection of the windows and door we found absolutely nothing to complain about. The quality of the windows and door is also top notch. It’s only been a couple of days and we’ve already have had many compliments (specially the door). I gave them 5 stars, if I could give them more I would.

I have been replacing my windows using Kempenfelt Windows and not only are their windows second to none but their quality of service is as well. I recently reached out to them about an eavestrough issue right above one of the windows I had installed. The eavestrough was causing excess ice to form down the window. I called them looking for someone they could possibly recommend. Although it’s not their core service they went out of their way to have a technician come over and access the situation. They then went above and beyond any expectations I had of the company and they rectified the issue. Daryl, the gentleman that did the repairs demonstrated incredible customer service. My sister has always loved her backyard, her definite "happy place", however she has recently become wheelchair bound. We found that the sliding patio door was too narrow to accommodate her new wheelchair.
