The taste is average, but there is no strange smell, basically it is a semi-finished product and then poured with a sauce. The price is pretty good in the tourist area. The tip of 15 is included in the total price, yes I originally planned to give 15%. And the service is really good. So it doesn't matter. In general, if you want to eat Chinese food, it is a choice, not too disappointed. “Best Thai in Banff Village” Overall -The food is delicious compared to other Thai spots in Banff but the service is just a tad-bit slow, be patient. Good - We ordered Pad Thai with Chicken and Tum Yum Fried Chicken. The portion sizes were average. The food is easy on the spice, so do ask for more if you like it hot. The view from the patio/window is pleasant. One one side you can enjoy the Rockies whereas on the other you can check out the hustle bustle of the village streets. Bad - Parking can be an issue. There is parking on the streets, be careful when its snowing, compact cars tend to get stuck. Service is slow so be patient. You can always wave and get their attention.

Had the special fried rice, black pepper beef and mixed vegetable chicken. The portions are good sized and taste is on if maybe a little extra. You can't expect the same as in Vancouver or Toronto but they get the dishes right. As someone who has eaten Chinese food from those regions the dishes here are on point and filling. Does not feel out of place.

Bleurgh! Let me start by saying this was probably the WORST restaurant experience I ever witnessed. When I was here, I was seated at my table like usual, and then it took over twenty minutes to the waitress to come over and take my order. After that, I had to wait over half an hour to get my food, and it was COLD. The food was also pretty mediocre, a Chinese takeout probably has better food than this place.

We have enjoyed a delicious meal here. This was our second visit. They have a great menu, there are lots of items to choose from. My wife and I got the Pad Thai and the Eggplant, with a medium bowl of Hot 'n Sour soup to start. The food was delicious! While the Pad Thai wasn't the best I've had, both of us loved the eggplant and the soup. The service was just what we needed and we loved it so much that we went back a second time!

The food at Bamboo Garden Restaurant was amazing! Excellent service, the server there recommended many dishes which fit into our palate. The food was prepared very quickly. The server went above and beyond to make sure that we had an enjoyable experience. They put in a lot of seafood and meat into all of our dishes. The fried rice was definitely my favourite.. lots of egg in it! Definitely would give a try again when I come to Banff.

The restaurant in Meteghan is a solid 4 stars. Just went to the new location in Mavillette (beautiful views), completely ruined my opinion of the restaurant. Food was lackluster and took over 45 minutes to arrive with a 15 minute gap between getting food for 5 people. Waitresses looked stressed out telling customers that food was on the way all evening. We ordered orange juice and got a bottle of orange flavored sugar water. I think the owners bit off more then they can chew with the move. Such a shame they ruined 2 nice restaurants in 1 shot.

Very busy restaurant. Lots of people with family. So did we. Very friendly and professional staffs. Not much wait time when we were hungry. ???? All foods are very delicious liked Tom Yum soup. Ate lunch here on Sept. 1, 2018. The food here was easily the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. The portions were very small. And each dish was nearly twice as expensive as our favourite Chinese restaurant in Calgary, the Ho Won. This restaurant has no endearing qualities and we will never be back.

We went here after talking to the front desk staff at our hotel. We wanted Thai food but were concerned about the reviews. They told us we wouldn’t be disappointed. We weren’t! The food was amazing. Our waitress was really friendly and happy. Our food came within a reasonable time. We only ordered Thai but the table next to us really enjoyed the Chinese food they ordered. We ordered the long beans with pork, Classic sweet and sour Pad Thai and the Cashew Chicken. Everything was amazing. The veggies were fresh, bright and crisp. The Cashew Chicken was some of the best food I have ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant. I can’t wait to return.

Arrived here an hour from closing. After a long travel day we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff which seated us and graciously took us in. Fried rice was good, but mapu tofu was spiced with Szechuan peppercorns which numbs your taste buds. Although some people may like taste, I find the mapu was a little numbing and too salty for my taste. Overall a pretty good experience.

First few times I went, I was so impressed!!! It was super! Went last week and was really looking forward to it. Walked in at 11:30 a.m. Started to sit myself and the girl tells me to wait and come back when they open. I said, you're sign says you open at 11:30???? She says open at 12 today. Wouldn't even let me sit at a table the little bit of time to wait. No sign on the door to state opening at a different time that day- just the one that says 11:30. 100 different things could have been happening but a sign on the door, remove the other sign, and perhaps some manners would have been nice.

Lovely place in Banff to try out Asian food. Had both Thai and Chinese food in the same place which was interesting. It also had a lot of vegetarian options to choose from. I went with the vegetarian hot pot. Interestingly, they also had the malaysian Roti Canais which was splendid. We were lucky to get a seat overlooking Banff Avenue and was fun to eat while people-watching. I'd definitely recommend this place.

This one is definitely much better than Silver Dragon in terms of the flavor and size of the dishes. Still as pricey as Silver Dragon but we don't have other choices as my father could only accept Chinese food and there're only 2 chinese restaurants in town. I would not recommend this place. We ordered Beef brisket and they served us Beancurd with a little bit of beef, they should have called it beancurd brisket. My wife asked the chinese waitress why there are more beancurd than beef, she replied: "that is protein". wth???-- We ordered a pork dish but they served us with a dish that has more additives than the pork. The prices on the menu are also expensive but the food is low quality. We will not come back here again.

Took my family to the mavailette location this evening and it was a complete disaster. Our meals were incomplete and randomly served with long waits in between instead of being served all together. When I voiced my complaint to the manager/owner I was told that had we wanted our food served at the same time we should have all ordered the same thing. She was snippy, rude and had absolutely no interest in providing a great dining experience or customer service. Outrageous and ridiculous for a place that commands $8.45 for a small bowl of plain white rice. Never never never again.

We visited the restaurant and ordered take out (dinner). The staff are very cordial and thoughtful. We never asked, but we were offered some much welcome cool water - we must have looked very tired. ???? The food was delicious and portion sizes were large (one portion of rice is plenty for two people)! I like my food very spicy and they were very accommodating with the level of chilli. Overall, a very nice and quiet place to dine-in or to wait for your takeout. I will certainly return for more delicious food when I’m in Banff again.

Just picked up a combo B plate to go. Got home and my egg roll wasn't crisp, my ribs were cold, and the chicken fried rice was hard and stuck together in a big lump. The rice was inedible and hard to swallow. I ate a couple ribs, but it was not good like when it's warm. The egg roll was edible, but not hot or crispy. There was no one in the restaurant when I went in and I'm sure they just reheated the food because I heard the microwave a couple times while I was waiting and I wasn't waiting long. I couldn't eat my food and when I tried to call the restaurant and complain, no one answers and I tried several times. I didn't know it was under new ownership until I just read it in another review. I can't see these people staying open too long if this is how they serve the public. I know I won't be going back, except maybe to complain in person since they won't answer the phone. ????

Went to the new location at Mavillette Beach got there at 17:30 there was 10 of us including a small child. The service was very, very slow. The first to gat a meal was the child chicken nuggets and fries. The next service was for four people. After the four had finished eating. One more meal was served. A short time later meal number eight arrived. After several minutes meal number nine arrived. Once number nine had almost finished her meal I finally got mine. By the time I finished my meal the bills and fortunate cookies arrived and we were advised the restaurant closed in half an hour. Will not be going there again. In my opinion our orders were not placed at the same time therefore we all ate at different times.

My food was nice but when asked for my partner to have plain rice it was a problem and even when receiving the food and explaining what was asked for, the lady who brought it out went to rectify this only to have the original waitress return with the food and put it in front of my partner and say it was our fault and she explained this was plain rice. I dont see fried rice with veg being plain. We explained this to her that this is what was asked when we ordered and the waitress just left. So we left the place and ate elsewhere.

Very rarely would I take a chance with a restaurant that is rated below 4 stars. But in this case, after 5 days on the road with only sandwiches and burgers, the craving for traditional Chinese food overcame any bias. And boy, am I sure glad it did! The portions were HUMONGOUS! (I wish my husband had Chinese taste buds, but I had to order two traditional dishes just for myself, which could have easily fed 3 or 4 people). The flavours were authentic and the service was tip top. ????????Not sure why this place doesn’t have at least 4 stars. Pet friendly patio too - our pup got a water bowl.

Avoid at all cost. This was the worst experience I've ever had in any restaurant. The food was quite expensive for a regular-looking Asian restaurant, but being near a popular tourist destination makes it "ok" (I guess). -I ordered a coke ($3-4), which was poured straight from a tap like in every restaurant, and they refused to refill. -I ordered Combination Fried Rice. Probably one of my favorite Asian dishes BTW. AWFUL!! I am not kidding when I say that the one that I make at home is better after a week in the freezer. (I wish I had a couple of pictures) You could barely find pieces of meat or shrimp, except a few minuscule pieces buried deep in a disgusting-looking white rice. -My mother ordered Mongolian Beef (or something similar). No taste at all, she didn't finish it. Same happened to my brother with another dish. I must say that the staff was kind to us during the whole time we were there, no complaints there. If this had been my first experience with Asian cuisine I wouldn't have eaten Asian food again in my life. Thankfully that is not the case.

I look forward to spending a fortune on Chinese food on my birthday every year and after driving 40 mins round trip from Canmore and spending almost $100 I could have gone to Manchu Wok (mall food court) and had better food. Frozen mixed vegetables in the rice, same mixed veggies mashed up for "veggie wontons", sweet & sour chicken balls was chicken and veggies in sauce rather than actual chicken balls you get anywhere else, seafood was rubbery, rice was dry and flavourless. DO NOT waste your money here, go to Silver Dragon.

Bamboo Garden used to be one the best Chinese food restaurants on the island but now that it's under new ownership, it has complete plummeted. I have tried it many times just to see if they were just having a bad day or whatnot but sadly no. Every time their egg rolls are burnt, their deep fried shrimp are 1% shrimp and 99% batter, and constantly terrible service. Hopefully they get their menu and products figured out soon, this place used to be the best.

Having passed in front 10 days earlier, I noticed a lot of people outside. On my return trip, we stopped in. My wife ordered the pork dumplings, her favorite, but these had no flavor. I ordered the special fired rice, which came as white rice and General Thao, which was chicken balls with a spicy sauce. It should be strips of chicken. There is a difference between pineapple chicken and Gen. Thao. They must think that the customer doesn't know what he wants. Maybe, they just don't care. I'm not going back but good luck for the people who do. Enjoy your vacation.

We got the seat at the Patio which overlook Mt Rundle and Banff Ave and it’s incredible! Food was amazing! Both the pork belly with preserved veggie and the Seafood with coconut sauce are the top-notch and full of flavour. Service was excellent. It’s definitely the best Asian/Chinese food in town.

Food is cheap ish, and for the portions you receive, I'm not sure I would say that it is worth it although it tastes decently. Furniture definitely needs some replacing as most the chairs are very worn and stained. Food takes a little too long to arrive, but service is very good and consistent. Also, it's very hot inside during the summer due to the fact that their cooling system appears to be one Dyson fan and an open door.

We came here because it is the closest restaurant to our friend’s house, and we enjoyed our time here. The food was good but the service was a bit slower than expected. They are one of those Chinese restaurants that serve the egg rolls separate from the meal and we would have preferred everything together, so if you want them with your meal, make sure you ask. Everything we ordered came on its own plate, and came at different times, which is one of the reasons I subtract points from restaurants. However, other than that, the experience was a good one. Good food, great friendly staff, and they even gave us roses for Mother’s Day. You have to give them extra credits for that, putting my score back up to a four. Definitely a business worth supporting.
