I never would have expected such a fine meal here! Our server was friendly and nice and my friend and I enjoyed a glass of a good wine with a great dinner. It may not look from the outside or walking through the gift shop to get to the restaurant that a great place to eat was here but stop in for a meal. Well worth it!

Food is pretty on par with cafeteria quality food. Fries and onion rings were from the freezer and meatloaf was pretty bad. My son said the burger was dry and had no taste. I would not recommend eating here unless you are okay with fast food quality for table service prices.

Great gift shop to stop at that has just about everything you would want from a gift shol on holidays. We didn't eat at the restaurant, so i can't speak for that part. We did also play a round of mini golf. It was fun, but the course is in need of some general maintenance and updating.

Great deal on mugs. But regular prices on most mugs are high. Prices on small wooden lighthouses with no door or window painted on them were also too high. There was some new stock in store which is great..the previous stock was there way too many years with very little new stock added. Perhaps lower prices would result in more sales.

A waste of a drive and money. I had the grilled haddock and the fish was very off. It didn't really even taste like fish. The veggies that came with it were over-cooked and bland. At least the potato salad was OK., because that's all I ate. My husband's lasagna was just ok.

It's a gift shop. I love the local feel to it. The talent of Cape Breton artists is on display throughout. The 2 ⭐????are due to the restaurant. Terrible, terrible place. Took 25 minutes to get a kids burger that was tougher than shoe leather. Overpriced, awful food. Go for the local flavor of gifts. Avoid the restaurant!

Excellent dinner. My quiche was great and my daughter had the meat loaf which she said was delicious. Sadly we had no room for dessert because they looked very tasty. After eating we browsed through the gift shop and then played miniature golf. The course was fun and a couple of holes were challenging but definitely provided fun for our family.

Very mediocre meal. Kids’ meals were $8 for small portions of deep fried Sysco frozen food. My kid’s burger was small, dry, and had some kind of weird spice combination that tasted like cloves or something. Mussels were over-cooked and rubbery, fishcakes were way too salty - as if they used straight-up salt fish without cooking or soaking out enough of the salt first. Last year I had the lobster roll and was super disappointed because it was made with some sort of salad dressing that overpowered the lobster. The waitstaff were fantastic. Fast and friendly service. Too bad about the food. We won’t be back unless there’s a major kitchen/menu overhaul.

Party of 3 had to ask the wait staff yo take our order twice and when food came out it was cold we did let them know there was an apology......offered a 20% discount for next visit......that's good but not from here and the discount no good to us as don't open till 11:30 am so to layer for breakfast. So 2 stars is plenty as to us the staff was not friendly enough to go back a second time to try for the prices they wanted.

Adorable two-story giftshop, home to a wide variety of assorted treasures. The restaurant and public washrooms located inside make this business a convenient stop run by friendly staff. We didn't stay long as we had our toddler in tow and fragile knick knacks in arms reach at every corner! From what we did see, apparel, home decor, entertainment, food and drink, and local keepsakes, can all be purchased here. Something for everybody! Despite all the pros of this giftshop, it is not at all kid friendly which is why it earned my three-star rating. There were signs posted everywhere to not let children play with anything, even in the toy section. It made me feel almost unwelcome with my child.

I stopped here on a dreary morning. The clouds drifted over the mountains and each time their bellies touched ground rain would start falling. Around the bend we saw a red barn and decided to go in for breakfast. The ladies that worked here are the BEST. So warm and sunny with stories about the area. Go in and buy something or have something to eat.

Was making reservations for supper with the family and the place was packed. They gave us a free round of mini golf to pass the time. About 45 mins later we were told that they were later because the people before us ordered dessert as well. When we got in to order, they apologized about the delay and took 30% off the order and a free round of golf the next time we are coming through . Great service, friendly staff and very accommodating. Food was great as well ????. Thank you to the great staff. Highly recommend.

This is a great spot for food, souvenirs, mini golf and stretching your legs! Been coming to the Red Barn for my whole life when we we go camping, go to Margaree or come back home to CB for a visit. Big enough driveway to pull in a 32 foot RV and comfortably park it.

Nice little spot, lots of stuff, prices off a little, we were going to buy a 6" lobster pot $15, then saw a 12" lobster pot $20 much better made. Staff never spoke to us until ready to check out.

Only about 1/2 the menu was available, rest were either out or unavailable due to the fryer not working. The large glasses of milk for the kids were what most places consider a small glass, plus no refills. Burgers were very plain tasting. Staff were friendly. My wife did enjoy her seafood chowder.
