I find David and staff really helpful regardless if it’s full service work or if I need advice and parts when doing the work myself. To me the advice is the most important part of any business, I had no experience with boating and now after a few years of questions and answers I feel really comfortable with my boat and how it operates. Quick, fast service and great hours to go along with it.

Every time I order a part over the phone, the price quoted is always substantially lower than the price on the day I actually pick up the part . If I'm quoted $58.00 for the parts all taxes in over the phone, by the time I walk in their shop the price turns into $70.00 ! IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WITHOUT FAIL. So I finally I said ENOUGH BS ! From Now On I Will Buy All My Ariens Snowblower Parts From Belmac Supply In Sydney. I recommend you avoid their BS pricing schemes and shop elsewhere .

I hired Mackley Equipment to "tune-up" my snow-blower. Two new belts and a carburetor cleaning cost $378 (including pick-up, drop-off, and HST). A little high priced IMO but there was a storm forecast and I was in a jam. Strike one: After they dropped it off and left, I discovered it wouldn't start so called them right away - no answer, of course. I struggled with it for a few hours; finally, after a lot of Googling I found and fixed the problem myself. They returned my call three days later. Strike two: The next day the screws vibrated out of the casing. They had not been tightened enough after the belts were replaced. I had to find new screws and put the casing back together myself. Strike three: Since they dropped it off it was running very rough, difficult to start, and stalling constantly. Apparently after they cleaned and replaced the carburetor they neglected to replaced the gasket and did not tighten the bolts enough. Within a few days the carburetor fell off - yup, actually fell off - I had to find and replace the bolts and reattach the carburetor. Needless to say, it still didn't work after that. I called them back again (on a Saturday morning after a blizzard and there was 15 inched of hard packed snow in my 200ft long driveway). They were very un-accomodating and told me I'd have wait until Monday before they could do anything for me. They offered to call a snow plow for my driveway ... at MY expense! Gee, thanks. Follow-up: They DID repair the snowblower somwhat satifactorily on the second try and returned it to me within a couple of days ... BUT (oh, you're gonna love this) ... They neglected to re-install a wheel spacer on the axel which caused the entire axel to slide about 1.5 inches through the gear box, shearing off a pressure pin in the main drive gear. So, I watched number of YouTube videos and finally taught myself how to fix it. It only took 4 hours, lying on my back on a snow-covered driveway.

About that mower I bought there. It knocks about 30 minutes off my mowing time. First time I used it, I didn't have the side chute and the grass was very deep. It mulched without bogging down much on half cuts. Next time I just did full cuts with no problem. Bonus is the gas tank doesn't leak, so that's a nice upgrade from my old, worn out mower. Thanks for the great deal.

By far the worst experience possible out of a business. They do not diagnose a problem properly they throw parts at the machine, and when it come to to blame they pass the buck. I dropped a boat off there in september for the to fix the carbs. They called me to tell me the jets were seized in the carbs, little do they know the carbs were fully apart and i have pictures. Then told me it needed a fuel pump which i had to by every piece and have it built. It was installed and told it was working. Picked it up and no start, brought it back to them. Was told fuel lines were rotted, replace and over charged me (5 feet used and 2 clamps- charged me for 10 feet and 5 clamps) was told 30.00ish for fuel lines bill was 103. Was told the boat ran for 45mins - 1hr. Called the next day and told oil pump is gone and issue with tank. Tank was cleaned when it went there and when i took the boat back the oil pump was covered in oil. I was told the oil pump was syn to carb. This was impossible since the pump was covered in dirty and grim and could not see the marking. This is just the readers digest version of the issues. So here is a prime examples that the back yard guys are sometimes better then these shop. What better explaination of this visit me (Kris Samson) on facebook for a good part of the story, i made it public.

I am posting this review for my grandfather who is dictating me his story. After dropping off his ride on mower to macklays the first week of July he was quoted a price of $300 to replace various parts. Since he has a 2 acre lawn this was pretty much the only option he had. After being given the run around on when the mower would be finished for 4 full weeks he said enough is enough he went down to get it back. They told him it would be ready in the morning. 2 weeks later he went to pick it up, tried to start it in the driveway, nothing. The price was double the original estimate, very unprofessional, difficult to get a hold of, and a bunch of straight up crooks/liars. Steer clear of these poison scam artists, they will take your money and laugh at you afterwards.

Had a major snow storm and my Ariens snow blower wouldn't start. Called Dave at Mackley Equipment and he walked me through some possible problems and solutions. Turns out the throttle was frozen and the kill switch was preventing it from starting. Dave's advice was bang on the money and we managed to get the blower going in a matter of minutes. I'm glad we didn't have to shovel the biggest snow fall in years!
