I called ahead of time to confirm that 1 of the 2 items I needed was in stock. I arrived slightly unprepared without a shovel and asked for assistance bagging sand. I waited for 15 min but no one showed up to help. I then borrowed a shovel and bagged myself. Went in to pay for both items then was told that 1 of the items was not in stock even though the inventory said otherwise.

The best deal here for material is to buy a big bag and haul it yourself. You can reuse the bags many times. Edit: This is no longer a good deal because there is now a $10 loading fee and no more airmiles. These changes are not posted visibly on the website or on premise. Bait and switch pricing isn't customer friendly.

Over the years this has been our go-to spot to buy tens of thousands of dollars worth of landscaping materials, and have always been pleased in the past. However, today we got nothing but incompetence and negligence. We understand that things are a bit different with the current health restrictions, but when we asked about inventory of an item we were just told they didn't know. No follow up. Asking if they had any other locations that might, they said they didn't know, but they might have a store in Kelowna that might have some, but we'd have to find out ourselves. We did get one item on our list, 24"x24" cement pads (7 of them). Because of the restictions, only the staff is allowed to load the product. The guy we had to help us was not strong enough to lift the block and it slammed against the new tailgate of our truck, scratching and denting the edge of it. I had to step in and do the rest myself because he clearly couldn't do it. When we left the store we looked up the site in Kelowna and saw that they actually have another location 15 minutes away, in Surrey. Nobody knew this location existed. We called them and they were incredibly helpful (but we're also out of stulock of what we needed). Going forward we will be looking elsewhere for our materials.

Ordered a Burnco bag of garden soil (veggie mix). A lot of wood and other objects such as little pieces of tile, rocks and little balls of sulphur (gross). Not sure where they are getting this from but for the $200 per yard delivered I would expect something better.

We are solar contractor, we don't purchase a lot of product but when we do they are large orders. We were given great pricing for the last 5 years on the product we have purchased. Now dealing with a sales supervisor Im not familiar with our prices all of a sudden doubled. We were given a quote at the end of October which we liked and now that were are ready to buy that product the quote doubled in price. In just a month and a bit. Makes it tough to choose Bunco now that we can get the same product for much less at the large chains stores.

Try to buy a bit of crushed gravel here for a small landscaping project, have a canopy of my truck. Ask if they have any loading options get a rude "nope" and an eye roll from the woman at the counter and laughed at by the yard employee sitting with her behind the front desk. No options to shovel it in myself, pretty horrid customer service from arrogant staff. Have bought hundreds of dollars of products over the years and recieved the same kind of service, finally had enough. Go to the competition.

Make sure you check their prices online before ordering from Burnco. I was overcharged by almost $100 when I went in to order a big bag of limestone rock. When I got home, I called Burnco and they said they would refund me the difference and send me an invoice confirming the refund. I never received a refund invoice and had to follow up with them to get this. I also was never told why their employee overcharged me. The only good thing about the service was their driver placed the bag where I had requested it.

Couldn't have had a Better Experience!! The office staff was amazing and friendly, the delivery driver was also a gem, we live in an older neighbourhood (Grovenor) and the power lines in the back alley were causing issues and he was calm, cool and collected with a smile on his face the whole time. We ordered the delivery for a Thursday, they called before the truck left the yard. In addition, I ordered 2 loads of rock but realized after the first load that I was going to have too much. We called the office and because the load hadn't left the yard they were able to cancel the 2nd truck and refund us the difference. The experience and service that I received was some of the best that I have ever experienced from any Industry. Thanks West Edmonton Burnco for making my experience!!

Burncolandscape.com . I was looking for rocks, so their pricing is per bag, per yard, including delivery. The bag option is handy if you just want a bag or several put down in your yard, and you can do with it as you choose. I take it they come back for the bag? Wont pick up the phone before driving all the way down and twice now after some rain won't load top soil. Only company in town now and they definitely act like it. Also when it's slippery the store that literally sells sand just tapes off the wheelchair ramp so no one can use it.

The gentleman helping us was polite and thoughtful, however the man who seemed like the manager was disrespectful to and of his employees, whom were doing their best to help us with our needs. I’m sure they are great if you can get a hold of them... my wife called 2 weeks ago and was on hold for 45 minutes, emailed them with no reply and I’ve been trying to get a hold of them as well. It’s frustrating not being able to get anyone on the phone or email during covid because I don’t want to go into the store unnecessarily when orders can be made and questions answered over the phone. We ended up using another landscape supplier in Edmonton and they met our landscape needs immediately. Burnco has some serious work to do.

I was put on hold for 10 minutes while driving to burnco. The lady finally answered and I tried to preorder some material. She told me it was too busy to take an order over the phone. When I got their I spoke to the same lady who told me I should have preordered over the phone. Her reason for not being able to get me 2 big bags was that they were helping other customers. I was basically told my order was too big and they had other customers to deal with. I have never dealt with a retailer who would pick and choose who they would help and when. Absolutely ridiculous.

My husband purchased a yard of black mulch from burnco West ed. We finished spreading them on our yard and noticed alot of road crush mixed in them. We called and emailed a few pictures. Their response was to RETURN the mulch. They wanted us to shovel all the mulch back up load it into our truck and return the mulch to get a refund. That will be the last time we support them and I will suggest people to go elsewhere as well.

I picked up 3/4 of a yard of compost from the West Edmonton location to add to our garden. My wife took one look at it and said it was terrible stuff. Mainly, it was full of ~1-2 inch rocks (like 8-10 rocks per shovel). There were also very hard chunks of dried material and didn't look like much in the way of organic nutrients. I was already aware of their no returns policy, however we hadn't even unloaded it so I called back to see if they would take this substandard product back. Nope, they wouldn't even let me take it back and dump it for free. Now I have a pile of unusable dirt on my driveway I have to figure out how to get rid of. Not very happy at all. Much better experience at Riverstone Garden Center a little further south.

Ordered rocks for the front yard. They delivered and unloaded the wrong rock. I had an excavator ordered to spread the rock. Was too late to send them back as the excavator had to be returned. Suggest that if you order truck loads of rock or soil you be at their site to ensure you get what you ordered and paid for.

Went to BURNCO for a rock landscaping project on my property. Staff at the front desk were knowledgeable, willing to help, offer suggestions and courteous. Pricing was better than the other options i had compared, such as Home Depot Bag Delivery services etc for raw materials. On my quest for sod that the mindless corporate sheep at The Home Despot failed pathetically to help me with I made a call to Burnco. Even though I was looking for a very small amount (just six rolls) I was told they would be very happy to acommodate me and then it would be added to the order that I could pick up Friday morning. This was on Tuesday so I asked if there was a chance I could get some sooner. "Maybe tomorrow, we will let you know by the end of the day". A few hours later I got a call and was told I could pick up my sod Wednesday morning. To my surprise it was cheaper by more then a dollar a roll! And of course much better quality. It's common knowledge that the corporate stores carry mostly low quality products and have terrible customer service, but are they cheaper? Do some research, you might be surprised!!

I half expect Mr.Marbles to run through my place in the middle of the night. Can't say anything for the product or staff, but I hate that open sign. Edited to 4 stars because of owner response. However the light is left on at least once a week still so I couldn't go all the way up to 5.

I bought less than a half pallet of concrete slab, about $200 value.. To deliver that, in local Langley area (5 km distance), the clerk Tammy charged me $152 plus tax (order # 260110/55). When I asked to add 1 yard of crushed stone as well to deliver, for which she added another $80 for delivery!! Why can't she put in the same truck to avoid extra delivery charge? So, I cancelled the 1 yard, though I needed. Hope the owners look in to this matter if they care about integrity. Harry Follow up: To my surprise, owner Barry called me on 2/2/2018 saying he regret that the clerk was not aware of right transportation procedures followed and offered me a fair resolution (gift card) to my satisfaction. Well, obviously customers and the vendor if both willing to listen and respect each other there is always a fair solution provided if both the parties are fair to each other. Burnco owner Barry proved himself he has excellent business ethics. I will continue to shop/buy from them. Harry

Went to pick up 1/2 yard of gravel and they loaded me . I was also Pulling a trailer. I didnt think that 1/2 yard was to heavy with the trailer attached so when they finished loading the trailer was dragging . I called the front counter to see if they could take some of the truck and the comment was we can let you have a shovel. Took me 40 minutes to off load by shovel well gate person sat by gate waiting for yard to empty as yard was closing . I am a 55 year old women with 2 fake hips so was not impressed and I will in future get my product elsewhere . Cristie

My husband uses burnco for all our landscaping needs. He was busy so I went in with my son to fill up some buckets with lava rocks. When I asked where the stones were he responded "somewhere back there". I asked if there was a shovel he said " probably somewhere back there". Very poor customer service. I walked out thinking "there's a man who hates his job" .I will not be returning. Maybe he is nicer to men.

Was my first time today; and I already can't wait to do a return visit. Professional, clean shop inside. Nice displays outside, well priced tools and materials in. Just came to pickup some washed sand for kids sandbox and landscape fabric. Short wait due to covid restrictions on customers inside office/store, little to no wait in the yard. I operate machines for a living, and their operator for the articulated loader was on point. No mess, slow dump into the truck bed. I give ya a 5/5 boys n gals. Thank you, kindly.

Great selection service but you need to deal directly with the store itself. The call centre is absolute garbage. I am a contractor who knows exactly what i am looking for every time I phone the call centre but they always talk to me as if I am 5 yrs old. Very rude and condescending. Also a good place to collect some Air Miles.

The only reason I am giving even one star is because a few weeks ago I talked to someone who was wonderful and helpful. I have never had a great experience there, but today was the last straw. Today I phoned to order stone through my contractor account. The lady who answered was completely disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. While trying to explain how I set up the account a month and have already ordered there previously, she had me on speaker phone and would talk to other people while I was talking. She refused to offer any help or solutions and just HUNG UP on me. I am very disappointed at the lack of professionalism that was shown. I will go out of my way to the east burnco and HIGHLY recommend others do the same.

Ordered soil to complete my final grading. Initial request for delivery date was cancelled due to weather, fine. Second drop off date, 2 days later..I sat around for an entire day, as I had thought, my delivery day was to be resent. No. I had to call in the last 5 min of Burnco to close for the day to find out my order is being sent another few days from the original drop off date. All I got was excuses and I asked for a refund. To add, this was a planned weekend to complete my project which wasn't a day before decision. So it should be understood the frustration I am making public before you start questioning this rant. Terrible service. Would not recommend.

Went in looking for a recommendation on type of rock to put in for a gravel driveway. Both women were very rude and acted like I was bothering them asking them a question. I had some follow up questions on material and they told me to go look for myself. Terrible customer service and will never use them for any project again. Wasted my time coming to this company, do yourself a favor and go somewhere that cares about their customers.

First time landscaper. Did plan based on Burnco website pricing: crystal white rock for $269.99 a yard or $130 half. Barrowed son’s truck to save delivery fees. At shop, was told $303 a yard and $193 half including penalty. The cashier said they don’t go by the website price. That’s false advertising. Workers are helpful. Must be management issue. Gilbert

Original call to burnco for dirt (seems simple right!?) Took 20 minutes of time just to be told that the other location would call me back... Next location called nearly an hour later to take the order. After giving VERY EASY AND DETAILED delivery instructions for the driver, and making sure that the order clerk read them back to me correctly. (East side of the north facing driveway) the order was paid. First delivery on Saturday was cancelled for weather, but not rescheduled. Finally at 5pm on Thursday someone named Curtis Martel phoned asking to deliver it just an hour later. Again I told him where it needed to go. As I pulled up to my house, less than the hour later, I observed the truck drive across two lanes of traffic and cut off nearly three vehicles while they blared their car horns at him. Two minutes later I pulled up to my house to see that nobody even read the delivery instructions, that the trucker had instead cut across the brand new sod that was laid the week prior (when we actually placed the order) with his semi truck and dumped the full load of dirt partially on the new lawn as well, but also entirely blockading completely the back alley for the entire block of houses to enter their homes as they got home from work. I know that the driver had my phone number because he confirmed the new delivery time an hour prior, yet to ask where to put it, even though he had delivery instructions, he couldn't even pick up the phone. I had to spend the next three hours with my girlfriend loading dirt out of the alley and putting it exactly where the delivery instructions said it should go, all the while getting dirty looks from my neighbors while they drove into my neighbors driveway to get around the pile. Pathetic service and moron truckers! Just use a different company of you don't want a headache like this to happen to you!

IF you have a truck and IF you have the time, you could save a few bucks and do it urself. But for the rest of us, Burnco’s BigBag is an awesome alternative. The products are high quality and the delivery is quick and pleasant. Great place to get road base even if you don’t own a truck. They can sell you bags that you fill yourself and carry home in the car. Its great! Cant beat the price of filling your own bags. 10 bag is about a half yard. I was out shoveling and one of the works came by, he showed me a trick to speed up my efficiency using a plastic conduit. Super friendly, will be back for more stuff in the future

I got what I came for, but your staff was very grumpy. The old guy at the till was rude. One of the girls finally showed me some buckets I could use to measure out the half yard of product I was buying, but without having a truck to pick them up (I used bins), I felt like more of a nuisance than a valued customer. I realize you're not making a lot of money off me, but who knows what I might need in the future. If you're not interested in selling to a single mom trying to make a nice little back yard for her kids, then you should probably only sell to contractors.

Ordered materials to be delivered and was given a four hour window. Four and half hours had passed and still no sign of delivery truck. After 5 phone calls, was finally told truck on the way. I live 5 min away and I was told that it is due to traffic. Its Wednesday in the middle of the day.. What traffic?

I spent $160 on Basalt rock ( 1 yard) and they gave me rock which was absolutely filled with dirt. So now there is a solid layer of dirt underneath the rock. It completely voids the weed control fabric I put down. Staff at Burnco didn't care. They said it was a bad batch. Nothing they could do.

Lots of rock, brick, pavers, etc. This place is a little disorganized - a large yard with no directory of where things are, inventory piled everywhere with no labeling, no prices and staff too busy to help. The yard was dangerous with loaders driving among customers wandering around. Parking was limited.

Product is good price is below average. Bought 1/2 yard of rock before they closed and wasn't quite enough. Next morning I tried to get another 1/2 yard for a yard price, but they wouldn't do it ($20 cheaper). Not impressed with customer service won't buy dirt,mulch or rock there again.

Ordered garden soil on their website, easy to order and straight forward. No issues there, and delivery was as requested. However the soil is full of huge clay pieces. I spent an extremely long time breaking up what I could, I have never seen a garden soil mix (including large orders from other landscape companies) this full of huge chunks of clay. I ordered paver gravel online and never received the product. I called to complain and they lost my order somehow. I was calling multiple times a week trying to solve the issue. I explained my order to them around 6 or 7 times over the phone, just trying to figure it out. Each time I called it was like starting from the beginning all over again, like they dont communicate or make notes regarding customer issues. I finally arrived in person at their store, since obviously over the phone was not working. They still had no idea what the order was, even after all the explaining on the phone. The supervisor seemed like she wanted to poke holes in my complaint rather than actually help me at first. Saying that the math doesn't check out, as somehow they were convinced I was ordering a bluebag, which was never mentioned on the phone. This was what was causing all the delays. The funny thing is if they had just listened to me over the phone (at least once out of the several calls) the math would have checked out. Oh and might I add that each call, I was on hold for at least 15 minutes. Maybe one call was answered within that time frame. The most frustrating experience. I did finally get my money back on May 7th, however it shouldn't have taken 3 weeks of hounding them down to solve it. I ended up just getting my gravel from Quality Landscaping Supplies who delivered the very same day, at a lower price for both the gravel and delivery.
