Very disappointed I ordered the dinner for two which is usually good but this time my 3 year old daughter complained about it tasting gross so we tasted all the dishes and notice that the beef and greens smelled very sour and rotten so we dumped it in the garbage where it belonged then we called and informed them of their foul dish and they just asked if we wanted a replacement needless to say we declined because who wants more rotten food right, and they refused to do anything else about it except ask us to pick the food out of the garbage and bring it in for the cook to see and when we said we didn want to pick anything out of a our garbage they hung up on in me I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN , ROTTEN FOOD AND VERY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A RECIPE FOR DISASTER, .I HOPE MY CHILD DOESNT GET SICK

We booked a party for my mother's 75th birthday and the reason was that her favorite dish is the Phoenix nest. The restaurant was pretty empty at the time of order and we were told the kitchen was too busy to make one for her. Had we known this we would have picked a different restaurant. Not quite sure what kind of customer service this is. Maybe take the item off the menu if it is too difficult?

Food is average. Service is one of the worst I've ever experienced. The guy told me on the phone the take out will be ready in 20mins , but when I got there after 20mins, I ended up having to wait for another half an hour to get the food. And they give me the “well this is the way it is” look when I ask how much longer it's gonna take. Im sorry but Never again.

We ate here twice during our stay in Hinton. We shared a large soup between two of us hungry working guys, and each ordered a combo. The meal filled me up without the usual heartburn I get after eating too much. Plus it tasted fabulous. The staff there are friendly. We had a late day at work and didn't feel like eating in the second time, so we ordered out. I would rather have stayed to eat just because the service was so good. The hot and sour soup was just like it sounds. There were a few more ingredients to it than I've had in other restaurants. I thought that it added more depth to the flavor and texture. I love ginger fried beef. Their version was more like I expect: crunchy, without being overcooked and dry. The vegetables were crunchy, but not undercooked. Just like they should be.

Terrible service. The server asked super personal questions which were very invasive. The food was very bland and I noticed they use the same type of chicken in all different dishes. I had asked for hot sauce not realizing it was going to be an extra charge until the bill came. Plus, the server didn't inform us of the standard service fee and would have basically stolen a tip from us had we not scrutinized that bill.

We were are group of five who individually ordered combination plate. The food was not good at all. Deep fried wontons were all pastry and square in shape with a fine size amount of meat, the ginger beef was hard and served cold, chicken balls had more batter then meat, wonton soup came with 3 little wontons and a large pile of ichiban noodles. The service wasn't bad as there was only 3 other people in the restaurant. We do not recommend this place.

(Translated) My friend and I are both college students in BC. For this shop, two words: spicy chicken. I'm from Jiangsu, this is the worst service shop I've ever seen. Not to mention how bad the dishes are, there are two tables in the shop after the first dish, one white, one table for us. The owner blame the aunt and the dumb waiter (can speak Cantonese) all kinds of ignoring our table, pour water to pour only the white table, and also a white table that the Chinese people have gone, kneeling and licking the white. Friends still urged tipping at checkout. I haven't seen a few of them in Vancouver before. I am either glass-hearted or unable to discriminate against Chinese. My friend was very polite and gave a 10% tip. Besides, there is no chicken in this restaurant's Kung Pao Chicken. You read that right. There are a total of seven or eight chicken strips. The bone of garlic bone is not as good as kfc, and it has no garlic flavor. Friends who don't like garlic can order it. In summary, everyone thinks that experiencing discrimination can go, a very unpleasant dining experience. I have negative points for negative points. Hope you like it. If I could give this place a zero I would. We ordered 100$ worth of food and received what seemed like 40$ worth of food. Our spring rolls that we ordered were literally spring roll skin with a hair-like sliver of meat. The chopseuy we ordered were literally just a mound of bean sprouts, two pieces of celery, and a single piece of brocolli. The kalamari we ordered had a generous amount of 4 and a half pieces of kalamari with 50 tempura veggies that were soggy and unappetizing. If I was the only person on Earth and this restaurant is the only place for food, I would rather starve to death than eat at this restaurant.

For a small Chinese restaurant it is really good with great service as well. When we went there was a huge party of 28 people and all of the other tables were full as well but they still made sure we were looked after and continuously checked up on us! It is a great authentic Chinese restaurant that is a small gem close to Jasper national park! After eating amazing Chinese Szechuan restaurants in Toronto and elsewhere we were very surprised to find a great authentic place in Hinton. We always order the water boiled fish everywhere we go and it tasted great here as well!

Too expensive and no quality at all. We reached there around 9.30 and they were about to close.. not sure thats the reason. Also they added the service charge along with the bill and didn't tell us. We gave them tip on the top of it. Whoever going there please check before giving them the tip

Not the worst I've ever had but definitely not the best. Chicken chow mein and the pork fried rice are your classic Chinese food dish the spring rolls don't even look like spring rolls they're not terrible but they're not great the beef broccoli the beef is mushy and the sweet and sour pork is just okay but we literally only had seven pieces in the container.

We went for dinner on Aug 1 2021 Sunday at around 9pm. The restaurant was open until 10pm. The staff took us to the table for 2 and gave us the food Manu. She return after few minutes and we were ready to order. But she told us that no food in the kitchen and the sheaf will not cook again. She asked us that they cannot serve any food. We were surprised. This never happened to us in our life. Once you take the guest in and give the Manu, you must serve the food. Really a bad experience in Hinton. We will never recommend this restaurant. Stay away from this place.

My wife and I are going to the mountains on our honeymoon and decided to stop by the Royal Garden restaurant for some Chinese food,my wife likes the western style Chinese food while I like to try the authentic Chinese food but they have taken it off the menu since not many people like trying different foods, anyway my wife ordered the won ton soup ( which does have noodles) I have to be honest with the flavor, it was kind of bland and could use more broth like flavor in the water. My meal on the other hand was awesome ???? it was the seafood chowmain I believe, it all was brought out separately (fresh chopped onions, noodles and the seafood dish) plus a hot skillet. The waitress started by putting the onions on, then noodles and after the cooed seafood and noodle mix. All the juices seeped through the noodles to the skillet cooking the onions and noodles with the heat, I would totally recommend getting that dish if you go, I had to take the rest home.

I would like to put no start for their service but unfortunately it’s not possible. Their service is terrible. After seeing a big group coming, they left us on the dirty table, when we ask to wipe our table, server told us we are not the only guest, she ask us to leave if we can’t wait, because she doesn’t have time now. Money minded people. We had to leave with my hungry baby to find a different place. Horrible person doing this to a hungry baby.

This restaurant took in my group of 13 people and absolutely delivered. Everything we tried was amazing. The red curry chicken in particular was wonderful. The server was very pleasant and friendly and all around this was a great stop on our mountain vacation.

First of all, the food tastes no better than those in a food court. For a small group of 5 adults, we were surprised to see a mandatory 15% service charge in the bill and the owner was expecting additional tips on top of it.

Worse customer service over the phone. All my money goes to garbage we were sooo hungry but didn't eat anything just taste and throw in the garbage. If u don't know how to cook u should close this restaurant.

I use to love Royal Garden, however the food has dramatically lost its value. The rice is bland and mushy, the chow mein noodles are not what they use to be or should be; they literally seemed like they used overcooked ichy ban noodles. This was a complete waste of money for me and as a single person eating out is something I rarely get to enjoy and this was far from enjoyable. Not happy at all. I’ve grown up eating Simon’s food but I’m afraid that has come to an end today. Two stars for the deep fried shrimp being decent, wait time was okay and the front counter staff was friendly.

Literally, im wasting my time already making a comment. We ask for spring rolls but recieved a shrinked meat like chees sticks, sweet and sour pork but we recieved a sweet and sour soup, we ask for calamari but we recieved a small amount of squids but full off battered veggies like seriously ? We ordered a chopsuey but full of bean sprouts like wth?. We paid 100$ for everything we ordered but its not even worth that much with their servings is too small! Since we were so hungry, we just dont have any time to drive back 20mins just to return and make arguments and waste our time even more. Dont even try ordering thru phone. I rather check in person if its worth your money! Overall, i am not recommending this place for those people who is desperately hungry that wants a good food fast!. Just go to a real fast food like mcdo, a&w etc. Maybe you can make ur money a little worth it.

Throughly unimpressed... I just spent $70 on not great Chinese food. -Wontons were just fried pastry... no meat. I have never seen that before, ever. But they were $11...? -Green onion cakes were doughy and uncooked on certain portions. -The ginger beef was grey. The taste was okay, bland and not very spicy. -I was disappointed with the Singapore noodles, the shrimps were very fishy and tasted a bit off. Too bad, because right now local kitchens and restaurants should be providing great food so the local community continues to support them through difficult times. Would have loved to order GOOD Chinese food again in the future, but sadly this place has lost my business.

Ordered the Vietnamese beef noodle soup which was a complete disappointment. It tasted like salty hot water with noodles and bland tasting beef. When I asked for hot sauce (to very obviously enhance the flavour of my meal ) they charged me $1.59 for a spoonful of hot sauce...... so needless to say I will not be returning.

Great place in Hinton, along the highway. Great Chinese food. Good prices. Such a friendly wait staff, too. I think our waitress was Irene. Really like this place.

We had a waiter who was new and had a few uncertainties about the menu - service was also extremely slow (after ordering it was a 45 minute wait with a nearly empty restaurant). However, excellent Chinese food - we ordered some of the food from the 'chinese' menu.

We went for dinner to this restaurant and ordered chicken chow mein, chicken with red curry paste, and rice. The restaurant has beautiful ambiance with real a 17 year old real bamboo tree! Our server was quick to attend our table and brought the food quite fast. Food tasted quite good but my complaint is that there was hardly any chicken in any if the two chicken items. The vegetable pieces, especially the red and green peppers could have been little in size.

If you aren't of Asian descent, you won't get served. Plenty of asians being served and plenty of empty tables but we were told rudely that no tables were available. Go elsewhere!

Very slow service. Kids chicken strip was one single finger. The fish and chips were small. Chinese food was good and salads were decent.

Food was good, but the service was bad. They never smile and feels hostile. On top of that, they charged extra tip without any notice. I would request anyone who would try the food there to be careful of this.
