As you know, we don't usually stop to put opinions when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

I had my wedding this past weekend at Lions Garden and all I can say is wow! The venue is absolutely stunning! We got so many compliments on it! This place is honestly a photographer’s dream! Due to covid we’ve had to make many changes to our plans including date changes. Rene and Klaske were amazing to work with and so supportive through the entire process! We had a small covid friendly ceremony and cocktail hour and it exceeded our expectations. We look forward to having our wedding reception out there next year and celebrating with family and friends! Thank you so much for making our day magical!
We had a family wedding at the Lions Garden. The owners and their staff were very helpful in getting all the details looked after. We will glad to recommend this place for wedding and other such occasions.
We are writing to acknowledge how amazing the Lions Garden was for our wedding. Staff was very accommodating and professional. The venue/location is breath taking (we were fortunate to have amazing weather +27, no rain and sun). Overall the day ran smoothly and all of our guest were raving about the venue and service. Would highly recommend the Lions Garden to any one wanting a unique, stunning and rustic wedding.
though its a huge farm. Take 10 minutes walk around. Around 50minutes drive away from Edmonton. Only one thing at the barn if they can put more lights will be great.
Had my niece's wedding. Large complex with lots of horses. Plenty of room photography. Indoor & outdoor location. Excellent service
Great venue
Rene & Klaske were amazing from start to finish. Staff was professional and well organized and made sure everything went smoothly! From the getting ready room to the barn and the grounds it was just mesmerizing !! It was a very memorable day and an experience we will never forget. Absolutely perfect! ❤ Jesse & Robin
My DJ company, Market Sound Entertainment, has performed at this venue numerous times over the last couple of years. This has to be the most gorgeous venue in the Edmonton area! Rene and Klaske are very nice people and provide an excellent service for their clients. They do have rules, which are very clear, if you follow them I can assure you that you'll be more than happy with the experience of working with them for your big day. Highly recommended!
Such a unique venue!!! Absolutely beautiful landscape and such friendly owners. The barn/reception area is perfect for every wedding. The brides getting ready area is very big with cute decorations and lots of light once the barn doors are open. I’d recommend this venue to anyone as their space for a special event!
Lions Garden is an absolutely stunning venue! The owners are very welcoming and helpful people and the floor manager, Shadoe, is amazing! I highly recommend Lions Garden for any special occasion.
Absolutely incredible wedding venue. The Lions Garden is the perfect mixture between rustic and glamour, with a whole lot of outdoor beauty in-between. As a photographer, there are never-ending photo possibilities on the property and it's always a pleasure to photograph weddings there!
As a Professional Event Producer, I was so impressed with this venue! Its a gorgeous space that is clearly owned by a very proud family! They have created a unique space with the style, quality, care and attention you would only find in a metropolis but with the customer service only found when working with a family, yet they offer the professionalism of a high scaled business. Its the best of all worlds if you are looking to book a beautiful space with the experience of a rural area. Well done to this family for being vulnerable enough to offer a space they love! BONUS: There's a community hall right across the street with a full kitchen, ball diamond and space for guests to camp for a price that can NOT be beat!
Last summer we had the pleasure of visiting this amazing venue all the way from The Netherlands to attend our cousin’s wedding. Our experience at the Lions Garden Barn Wedding Venue was awesome. From the fountains at the outdoor ceremony, to the beautiful scenic countryside, to the amazing wooden barn (where the reception and party was held) with real rough cut timbers. We really enjoyed everything about the wedding day and really appreciated all the help you and your staff provided. You contributed to a very special moment in our families lives. Thanks Andres
This venue offers a unique, rustic and ideal setting for an unforgettable event! The owners do an impeccable job of keeping the property very well maintained and organized. When we set up for a recent event there we didn't even need to set up a backdrop for our booth because the beautiful wood on the wall was perfect for our photos!!
You have to get married here! The Lions Garden is an unbelievably beautiful venue. Rene and Klaske are absolutely wonderful and did everything they could to make our day unforgettable. They are honest, fair, easy to get a hold of or communicate with, accommodating, and helpful. Our wedding was a dream and went by flawlessly. I will always recommend this venue to anyone getting married!
This wedding venue is breathtaking I got married here in October of 2019 and I am so thankful to Klaske and Rene they were so warm, welcoming and helpful I can say this woman sat by my side while I was having cold feet (as all brides do on their wedding day) while also dealing with a drama queen I called my photographer she listened to me sob/scream and gave so much comfort and got me up and down the isle for what was the best day of my life and I will never forget how amazing they made our day????
As wedding photographers we really enjoyed working at Lions Garden. You have the option for an indoor or outdoor ceremony plus your reception can also be held there. We loved the chandeliers in the barn! It makes for one of a kind first dance photos. The owners are René & Klaske and they are so friendly to work with. Klaske even took the time to walk us around the property to show us his favourite spots. Highly recommend Lions Garden for your wedding venue.
An absolutely beautiful venu, ceremony and reception on the grounds so your guess don't have to drive around to enjoy weddings. The place is stunning for pictures and the staff have always been kind and helpful. I've photographed a couple weddings there and my couples have always loved their experience at this venue.
All I can say is that this venue is STUNNING. Rene and Klaske (the owners) were wonderful to work with from the first day we communicated with them. They were prompt at responding to emails and phone calls. They were so helpful on the day, making sure everything ran smoothly, directing people, and vendors to where they need to be. No need for a wedding planner. I had ZERO worries and stress on our day. They put a lot of effort into making the venue beautiful, it’s one of a kind.
Rene & Klaske the owners were great! They communicated well with us and the venue is nothing short of spectacular! We had a fantastic day, the atmosphere, photos and people were amazing. The pictures are breathtaking and well worth the trip out there! They do not have running water but it was easily planned around, the grounds are very well maintained! We only had a short time frame for set up the morning of the wedding but, many hands and preparations ahead of time made it go quickly. We fell in love with Lions Garden from the photos and could not have picked a better location for our wedding, we were so pleased at how well everything came together! The reception setting is a rustic barn and I've seen comments about the boards being uneven on the dance floor, which is true and why we came prepared with flip flops for our guests to wear during dancing. It was not an issue for us. Klaske was extremely helpful and gave rides on the Gator from the parking lot to the barn and from the barn to ceremony area when it was needed as well as giving the kids rides! People have also commented on the long walk from the parking lot to the Ceremony/Reception areas, it is not that far and adds to the character and charm of the experience out there! They are very accommodating so if this concerns you with some of your guests I suggest going to view it prior to booking. They do shut down by 12:30am and you need to have your decor taken down by 1am so they can clean, again if you prepare and have enough people this will not be an issue. We loved Lions Garden and would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a rustic/romantic location. Thank you Rene & Klaske for making our day so wonderful!
This business is run by a family NOT in the HOSPITALITY business. They don't want you on their grounds, because you will just make a mess or wreck something. It seems like people are an inconvenience to their business plan.
We had the pleasure of getting married at Lions Garden this summer! It was everything and more that we could have ever asked for! It truly is such a beautiful venue and René and Klaske are such great people to work with! They are so kind, professional and helpful! If you are looking for a great venue this is your place! You will not be disappointed!
Absolutely gorgeous and unique venue. Perfect for both outdoor and indoor ceremonies . This is a hidden gem.
We can not rave about Rene, Klaske and the entire staff of Lions Garden enough!! The level of professionalism is unmatched yet remains to be personable and approachable. We booked our wedding at the venue prior to covid, and originally had it planned for June 26th, 2021. However with everything so up in the air over the summer, we were faced with the decision of do we have a very small wedding of just immediate family or post pone. My now husband called Rene to move our wedding to 2022, 11 days before we set to be married, when they offered us a spot for July 3rd,2021 with out hesitation. They knew how important it was for us to have all our family and friends present since we moved away from our home town and rarely get to see everyone. The wedding day was absolutely perfect, not a single thing went wrong and if it did we did not know about it because Rene and Klaske are outstanding venue owners and diffused situations for us. As a bride the normal nerves set in once I put my dress on the bridal suite but Klaske was right there with a bottle of champagne in hand and open arms. From the time we got there to the time we left, we did not feel rushed or bombarded as they had everything under control. Almost forgot the mention, the property is a photographers dream, so many different locations and golden hour at the barn is breath taking. Unfortunately the washroom house was not up and running for our wedding, but future brides and grooms have that to look forward in the years coming!! Thank you again to Rene and Klakse for the countless phone calls/emails and last minute changes, we owe you guys the world xoxo Mr & Mrs McRobb
Recently myself and wife had our wedding at this stunning and beautiful venue. The lead up to and the wedding itself went seamlessly well with the Lions Garden. The owners were nothing but helpful and warm to us throughout the whole process and on the day of the actual wedding. On the wedding day, the owners went beyond the call of duty. In the usual stressful set up with alot of moving parts, we forgot to take with us roses for the tables and we couldn't arrange a short notice replacement, however, the owners provided us with some hand cut apple blossoms from their own garden for the tables. Ironically they looked better than the roses we had arranged! The gator service operators were on point through out the day & night, with a few mobility restricted guests and sub zero temperatures, they provided on time & as requested shuttle service between the ceremony / barn & our shuttle bus with blankets. Furthermore, the bar staff were professional and fun. They engaged our guests in a friendly manner and even topped up our Coffee urn with water despite not really being their scope of work. We had an incredible day and was largely due to the Lions Garden team. Thanks guys!
We were going to book our elopement at this stunning location however, we decided to go a different route in the mountains. I still wanted to mention that Rene & Klaske were so easy to deal with and were very accommodating when it came to the vision we had for our elopement and were very quick to respond to our inquiries. We would definitely consider having a future event here!
My fiance and I are getting married here in July. The venue is gorgeous and the space is large and open! You do need to put effort into communicating with the owners ane thoroughly reading their guidelines because there are quite a few rules. We asked the owners to move a piece of farm equipment away from the barn entrance because that wasn't the style we wanted and it's taking up a fair amount of space. Hopefully they will accommodate us with that as it's been our only request. :)
Although the owners are fairly difficult to deal with, the venue itself is breathtaking. We had a lovely experience the day of the wedding, everything ran smoothly. However, we did put a lot of effort into trying to line everything up with the owners so things were clear the day of. They have some odd rules, and are very particular about their grounds. I would recommend them, only if you are prepared to put in the effort of following through with emails/phonecalls and making sure you are very clear and organized. Their communication is not the best and you will need to be persistent. You will need to be creative with set up, as you only have access to the grounds at 9:30am the day of your wedding. The more you tell them about your plans, the more things will run smoothly. They are very nice people, just a bit challenging.
Me and my husband are so happy we chose to have our wedding at Lions Garden. They have a wonderful ceremony and reception area and even a place for the bridal party to get ready! The entire venue absolutely beautiful and René, Klaske and everyone else there are so kind and professional!! I highly recommend them to anyone having a wedding!!
Not only is Lions Garden a breathtaking venue, Rene and Klaske go above and beyond for their clients. From taking the time to throughly answer our initial email inquiry very quickly, to giving us a private tour of the entire venue complete with ideas and options for how to utilize the space and all the extras they offer, to ensuring booking was as easy and seamless as possible and being available for any additional support. When you choose Lions Garden you are getting so much more than just a place to have your wedding or event, you are made to feel like family, that they really care about their clients and that everyone at Lions Garden truly wants to make your dreams come to life. I would recommend this venue and working with Rene and Klaske over and over again.
Lions Garden is a must see wedding venue!!!! The moment I saw it I knew it was where I wanted to get married, and I got about a billion compliments about the venue at my wedding this past weekend. On top of being absolutely gorgeous, the venue owners are the friendliest most understanding and helpful people you could ever imagine. Planning my wedding was all over the place with Covid, and we even ended up changing dates at the very last minute!! Rene and Klaske were amazing to work with every step of the way and really went above and beyond for me. The staff they use for preparations and the bar are equally great and they made the wedding flow seamlessly. Thank you guys so much you’re the absolute best!!!!!
She ain’t pretty she just looks that way. She’s a three dressed up as a nine. I personally feel sorry for all the brides currently booked with this place for their upcoming wedding. I sincerely believe that your product is only half of your business and the rest is your customer service. The grounds are gorgeous and my photos turned out beautiful. That being said, if I could turn back time I would have gotten married at a hotel downtown and taken my photos elsewhere. The owners do not lift a finger and essentially make YOU PAY an exorbitant amount of money to work FOR them. The cost of the venue, at the end of the day, is comparable to that of higher end venues in the city. However those other venues we explored included a wedding cordinator, decor and setup in their cost. My wedding day was unbelievably stressful and the owners just stood by and watched. We had to pry at them to grab the decor we rented, that should have been at the barn before hand. The earliest they let you in is 9am, but for most people it’s 10am for set up. If you’re planning any elaborate decor, press the back space button at the top of your search bar now, and keep looking for another venue. My day was so rushed my makeup and hair didn’t get that “perfect wedding day” time that it needed. what a Nightmare. The end of the night was also a disaster with the owner (husband) yelling at my guests to get out while aggressively tapping on his wrist (gesturing time). Everyone was working so hard to get things put away, but the rush caused my guests to frantically throw things in the u-haul, which in turn, caused many things to either be misplaced or broken. I’m sorry, but screaming at me isn’t going to magically make my legs work faster. With the amount of unorthodox rules they set in place, they are in the wrong business. Myself nor my guests, have EVER heard of this. Night-of clean up? closing at 12:30? No driving up the GRAVEL road to the venue? No table set up? No help? No table take down? Just watching, inappropriate yelling and, screaming. APPALLING. What kind of a venue makes you pay to clean for them? This is someone’s wedding day. This is the most important day of their lives. Most of the people getting married here are young couples establishing themselves. People are being used and abused here. You can’t charge THAT MUCH and include NOTHING in that cost. Not to mention that for the price we paid — a leaking ceiling? SEVERELY uneven floor boards? Bathrooms with urine all over the floor? (we were told these get cleaned throughout... FALSE). Owners inspecting my guests throughout the night, waltzing into my wedding? My family is rather tame and definitely on the classier end of the spectrum so I take high offence to this. Nothing on their property was disrespected or ruined at ANY point. All in all, we were very disappointed. This venue is the personification of a pretty girl with an ugly personality.
The owners are so hard to deal with, there's way too many rules and you'll get charged for everything. We were charged for every little extra thing they could think of. We were charged $150 for not taking some tulle off the ceremony gazebo right after the ceremony, it was removed at the end of the night while we were cleaning and packing up and we had the whole venue rented for the day so it didn't bother anyone. You're not allowed open flame and I had candles in lanterns for decorations and agreed not to light them and they still decided to cut every single wick off each candle (overnight after we left once the decorations were put up) which resulted in all of the candles being useless for personal use after. We were gonna have a sparkler send off and they saw the sparklers and lighters in the barn and stole them to ensure we wouldn't light them even after we specifically said we were not going to light them on their property, my sister had to argue a lot with them to get them back. They walk around during your wedding, even though they are unwanted. The bartenders is their daughter and a friend, you can't even choose your bartenders! My sister was about 2 weeks away from her due date and they wouldn't let her husband bring the vehicle down to the barn to pick her up. You aren't allowed real rose petals for any decorations, you barely have any time to decorate and if you go over time, you're charged. Even though no one else was coming that evening to see the venue, We had to leave. They email you a list of everything they need (a lot of unnecessary information that doesn't make sense why they would need) and I sent them what they needed and asked if that was everything. They said yes we have everything from you, well the afternoon before the wedding, I get a phone call saying we don't have event insurance (which is stupid that we need to get it because they are already insured) and said if we don't get it to them, we will not be able to have our wedding there, after they told me that I have provided them with everything they need. Thankfully we got an insurance broker to help us out in time. Beautiful venue but absolutely terrible customer service. The most stressful part about planning my wedding was dealing with Renee and Klaske.
The Friesen wedding on Saturday, June 27th, 2020 was absolutely amazing and we were very grateful for being allowed to have it at Lions Garden. It a beautiful wedding venue and many beautiful photos were taken here. I want to thank the family that own and run this venue. They were a tremendous help ensuring the day was a success. Thank you for making this very special day the “The Best Day Ever”! Thank you again????
We had a family wedding last week at the Lions Garden. The owners and their staff were very helpful in getting all the details looked after. We will glad to recommend this place for wedding and other such occasions.
Originally my Daughters wedding was Aug 2020, then bumped to May 2021. Then constant changes in restrictions, cause even more change. Lions Garden was nothing but accommodating to us. Day of the ceremony, again the service we received was top notch. It is a beautiful venue run by caring compassionate, people who made us feel very special. We are now looking forward to the celebration/reception in 2022 there as well!
Absolutely beautiful venue, and wonderful owners. We recently had our wedding here and have had nothing but positive feedback from our guests. We would highly recommend lions garden to anyone! Thanks again for everything.
Lions Garden is beautiful venue with many breath taking options for your wedding day. They have been wonderful to deal with. I would recommend you check them out.
Klaske and Rene were so great to deal with and their facility was perfect for our dream country rustic wedding!! They went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed and were very helpful in the planning process and the day of. Their grounds are well kept. Lots of thoughtful and creative landscaping makes for gorgeous pictures. We had a beautiful wedding!
Although the place is beautiful the customer service is terrible! The owners are very rude! Mutiple guests, weddung party and caterers had arguments with them. We were told that we would have professional bartenders and they ended up having their daughter and friend doing it. We had to argue with them about taking a vehicle up to the venue when we were taking decorations down, they wanted us to walk them out to the parking lot which is quite a distance away. They also suggested that we would be charged for property damage because of a torrential downpour that made their grass parking lot almost impossible to get out of. The cars tore up the grass, as they were getting stuck and they wanted us to pay for the damage. I think that if they are making $10000-$15000 a weekend they should be able to build a real parking lot. There were multiple other issues, to many to list. Overall the place is beautiful but not worth the terrible customer service!
Would highly recommend Lions Garden to any one wanting a unique, stunning and rustic ourdoor ceremony with a barn reception.
My husband and I just got married at Lion’s Garden this past Saturday (August 10th, 2019) and couldn’t be happier with how everything went. We chose to rent the venue for the additional hours on the Friday, as well as the Sunday for set up and take down. We definitely recommend choosing this option as it allows for stress-free set up and take down. From the first time we visited Lion’s Garden, it was extremely apparent how much pride Rene and Klaske take in everything they do and how they maintain their venue. Throughout the entire planning process, Rene and Klaske were very easy to get a hold of and always quick to get back to me with any answers that I needed. When we first started looking into booking this venue, we noticed they do have quite a few rules in the contract. However, we appreciated the clear expectations and it allowed us to plan accordingly ahead of time, and despite the rules they were more than accommodating in any areas we asked to adjust slightly. We also found that it is due to their high standards that their venue has been able to be kept nothing short of immaculate. Rene and Klaske were available during planning, set-up, the wedding itself, and takedown for any suggestions/recommendations, or support that we needed. We had a handful of guests with mobility issues, and Klaske was always right there ready to drive them wherever they needed to be in their side-by-side (Gator). We did want to take time to address some of the negative reviews we had read when we were choosing Lion’s Garden, because we had such an amazing experience and want people to have specific feedback regarding our experiences on the issues we had read about. 1.We had read some reviews that claimed the owners presence was too much during set up, take down, and the wedding. Our Experience: we found this was absolutely not the case. We found it was the perfect amount of involvement. We would see them occasionally to check in if we needed anything but otherwise they left us to ourselves. 2. The cleanliness of the porta-potties Our experience: The porta-potties were very clean, and were consistently maintained throughout the evening. The washcar we had rented for our wedding broke down half way through the night, causing an increase in the porta-potties being used, and still they were always clean and consistently checked throughout the night. 3. There were some other concerns we had stemming from other reviews. We chose to discuss them directly with Rene and Klaske, and they were more than willing to discuss them with us, which left us feeling reassured that we had only read one side of the story. We encourage you to talk to these owners because it will leave you knowing only how much they love what they do, and how much they want to make your wedding day the most amazing experience. Overall we felt that our wedding could not have gone any better than it did, and would recommend this venue to anyone we know. We have already spent the week following our wedding wishing we could relive it over and over again! Throughout not only the day of our wedding but the days following, we have received continuous compliments from all our friends and family about how amazing our wedding was, and how incredibly beautiful of a venue it is.
My experience with Lions Garden was amazing! With all the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, Rene and Klaske went above and beyond to accommodate and help me and my now husband with our changing wedding plans. The ceremony garden space is beautiful (which we were able to use this year with our 70 guests) and are looking forward to celebrating our reception in their stunning wedding barn next summer!
Would not recommend. Owners really tough to deal with. Stated that they could do catholic ceremonies outdoors, though this was not true. I called around and confirmed this. They would not refund the extra 700$ we payed for outdoor ceremony even though we gave 6 months notice and it was based on what they originally lied to us about. They like to walk through the event and monitor the guests frequently. Though they cannot upkeep portapotties throughout event. Setup had to be the same morning and cleanup on the same night. If you can’t clean up drunk and in half an hour then there are even more charges. They come in yelling “get out, get out” while pointing at their watch. Wouldn’t even set up chairs or tables though they ask you for a floor plan a month prior. For such an exstravagant price, they don’t give you any service. Also flooring is not high heel or elderly friendly as it is quite uneven. A really bad experience to have on YOUR “special day”
Thank you again for hosting us for our wedding in August. We had a wonderful day, and our guests were in love with your spectacular property. Your eye for detail and all the extra help was really appreciated. Thanks again, Joe and Marissa
I am a Marriage Commissioner and had the honor of presiding over a ceremony at the Lions Garden Barn recently. Not only is the venue itself stunning, the management was friendly, efficient and professional. I couldn’t recommend this place more!
