Best bang for your buck. 7 years and counting. Very supportive management team. Great amenities - pool, gym, rec area. Excellent location - short walk to ctrain, mall, park, food, schools.

Excellent neighborhood, many restaurants and amenities nearby. The Building Manager was always accommodating when I spoke with him. Numerous times they went above and beyond (i.e., lost keys, same day maintenance, etc.). Very pleased with management's handling of my concerns. If you have a problem, I suggest you contact him before posting a negative review, chances are they can promptly address your concern(s).

I lived in Garden Towers for two years. The office manager Van is wonderful, but building management above him does not communicate. There was always plumbing issues and they had the whole building without water for 10 days in November with no rental compensation. The heating in the winter is abysmal as it’s a steam system from the 60’s, in the winter it heated my apartment to only 14 degrees in -40 weather I was forced to use my stove to heat my apartment. They also raised the rent by nearly 200$ in two years. The apartments are outdated with no work being completed on them but the flooring. All in all this building is terrible.

Affordable, Convenient, Decent Budget Apartment building. I have been living in this building for 4 years and counting. Property Manager is really helpful and accommodating. You might see other bad reviews about this property but no apartment is perfect. What is important is they addressed the issues promptly. I have been to other apartment buildings here in downtown but I found my home with Garden Towers because of its location, practicality, affordability, convenience, and friendly staff.

We been living in Garden Towers Apartment for more than 3 years and counting forward.This apartment building is very convenient to us cause me and my husband is just working downtown and so close to C-train station.There property office manager Van is so helpful, kind, approachable, accommodating on our request and very friendly to everybody. If some issues occur they will solve as they can.Me and my family found home in Garden Towers and we are happy.????????

I lived in Garden Tower for almost a year now, I am very much comfortable with my unit, got a big room and wide living room. The building manager is very accommodating and right away solved my problems. My work is just 2mins.away and my son's favorite place too is just nearby. Since I wanted a location within walking distance of a train station, I rented this apartment. I initially signed a 6 months lease since I was not certain, but later, I stayed here for two years. The staff was helpful & very friendly, and the place was clean & well-maintained. The apartment was very spacious for a downtown location. In terms of maintenance, the management was extremely active and took good care of the apartment. I would highly recommend the garden towers.

I have been here for almost 2.5 years and absolutely love it. Nice and clean apartments, with an amazing view! Great location close to everything in downtown. I think this is by far the most reasonable condo building with great security and amazing management seen so far. There's is a new management company, so all maintenance request gets done in a timely manner, always have a week or more notice for water outages and they are generally completed in less than the quoted time. Will highly recommend to any renters looking for affordable living with mesmerizing view right in the heart of downtown Calgary, I believe Garden Towers is the best. The concierges are very polite and friendly, always willing to help, especially Deepak Shrestha who is very professional and skillful. He is truly fantastic and work hard to stay on top of things. He promptly addressed all of our questions and concerns and went out of their way (as always) to ensure that we felt appreciated as tenants. Thank you..!!

Hmm. I'm just done with this property management company. I moved into Garden Towers in July 2018 and moved out in August 2019. At first glance, it seems like a reasonable place to stay for the convenience of being next to the downtown core, and 8th Street LRT station. However, the negative experiences have sullied my opinion of the place. First was the noise from the train running outside our window for majority of the day and night. I let this go because I chose the apartment and that's the price I had to pay for my choice. But do understand that my quality of sleep was greatly affected by this. Second was the level of disgust shown by the maintenance guy every time he had to help with any repairs (which was a total of 3 times in 1 year). He acted as if there was a conspiracy to ruin his life. Next were the 10 days during winter 2018 spent without hot water that the company had no intention of providing compensation for. When asked about compensation, they said that we had to re-sign a lease to receive a $200 discount. This sounds a lot like exploitation to me, since my intention to re-sign has nothing to do with their failure to fulfill their obligations as stated in the original contract. Lastly, there were the threatening letters from management insisting that we provide banking information for direct withdrawals of rent and bills. Not only did they decide to inefficiently take over electricity billing, they neglected to call QMC to close the accounts they had opened on behalf of their tenants. They didn't even inform us that we had to close the accounts ourselves. I found all this out upon calling QMC to request a refund for the surplus on my account. Garden Towers didn't care to assist with this, considering the fact that they had set the account up and then decided they didn't want to work with QMC anymore. I was willing to overlook all the issues I had with management because I simply minded my own business, but the disregard for tenant rights has left a sour taste in my mouth. I am not here to tell you to stay away from this apartment building. I am simply sharing my experience and emphasizing that this company values only the money. Do not expect to be treated with much respect. All they care about is that cheque clearing (I always paid on time and in full, again, to minimise my interactions with management). Rent at your own risk.

Affordable place to live. Friendly staff. There were some odd days for hot water service shutdown. Looking at the convenience of C train station, Tim hortons, Restaurant, Day care, Gym, Recreation space, Pool, for me this place is best choice.

Poor management, horrible laundry.. The machines are new and yet don't work properly. Theres issues with the plumbing. We went without hot water for three weeks.. We have gone without hot water in the past... And yes the machines are new... Why are they leaking? And why are my clothes still dirty after a wash? No one else is complaining because they know you don't care or won't do anything.

This is where I started after landing in Canada . Van was extremely helpful and supportive in proving me an accommodation suitable to my need.he is extremely helpful. The place is very convent for someone staying in downtown with all transit few steps away. There is a Safeway and Co-Op within 500-700 m distance. Gum and pool have been renovated to make it more upscale .

In the morning, the hot water pressure is obviously insufficient, the water is not hot enough, but fortunately it is usually hot. During the time of concentrated water consumption, the water is cold and hot...it is the bath time at night...Heating is sufficient when the outdoor temperature is high, when the outdoor temperature is low...The heating temperature becomes cold...Cold drops! Basically asking people who are not that big, this frozen apartment is quite good (compared) but it is a bit inconvenient when paying rent, no cash, no credit card, only local bank card deduction and post office cheque (but That is about 1% more handling fee), the public washing machine downstairs is too strong, it will wash the clothes, and I am afraid that... I was washing clothes in my own bathtub, and the office manager downstairs said...you Do not wash clothes in the bathtub. I:? ? What? ? . Administrator: Your neighbors are protesting...water is flowing to their home...! Should you take your clothes downstairs and wash them? ! Weird? Don’t you find it strange? The bathtub is not used to hold water, otherwise what is it used for? ? If we will find you doing laundry one day, then from the day you move in, you will take a bath every day, why is it all right? They also said that because the color of the water is strange? ? ? WHY? There is no hole in the bathtub...I can't figure it out... (Original) 這裡的房子是算乾淨的了,交通又非常的方便,吃東西也方便…但是美中不足的是…隔音非常的差,電梯升降的聲音及在耳旁、不知是樓上樓下還隔避的電視聲,大聲談話、廣播聲都可聽的一清二楚,右手邊的隔壁住了一家人,奇怪的是…為什麼他家的小孩天天時時都在哭…都在鬧?早上熱水水壓明顯不足,水不夠熱,還好平時是燙的要命。在集中用水時間,水是忽冷忽熱的…由其是在晚上洗澡時間…供暖在室外溫度高時時足夠,室外溫度低時…暖氣居然變溫的…冷冷滴!基本上要求沒那麼大的人,這凍公寓算是不錯的了(比較起來)但付房租時有些不方便,不收現金,也不收信用卡,只收取當地銀行卡扣款和郵局當日支票(但那要多付約1%的手續費),樓下的公共洗衣機太強,會把衣服洗壞,更恐佈的是…我在自家的浴缸洗衣服,居然被樓下辦公室管理員說…你們不可以在浴缸裡洗衣服。我:??啥??。管理員:你們的鄰居在抗議…水都流到他們家了…!你們應該把衣服拿到樓下來洗?!怪怪?你們不覺得很奇怪嗎?浴缸不是用來裝水,不然是拿來做什麼的??如果我們一天洗衣服會被你們發現,那從搬進來的那天起,就天天泡澡,怎麼都沒事呢?他們還說因為發現水的顏色怪怪的???WHY?浴缸明明就沒有破洞…這點我真的想不通…

Used to be a decent place, rented a condo for 2 years, but the rental hikes weren’t inline to services, with frequent heat & hot water issues and on top of pest & bugs issue across building decided to move out. Also the parking thefts and car break ins it has become even pathetic, a complaint wasn’t addressed for months. Even to refund deposits the management is taking over two months.

To be fully clear, the staff (the small team that runs this place) is doing an ok job which would have been way easier if the DARN TENANTS were more respectful and caring of the building. There are multiple families that live in unsanitary units which causes the bedbugs and cockroaches you see in other reviews. Most of them are recent immigrants from third world countries and I understand that they’re slowly getting accustomed to life in Canada but as someone who lived at many locations throughout the world, I am very disappointed in how they maintain their living environments. At least keep the common areas clean... there are always foul odours in the elevator from dropped garbage and the laundry room is always dirty with broken things everywhere. The location of this apartment complex is also has a very heavy homeless and drug users presence in its surrounding which could be quite scary. Bottom line, if you need a quick accommodation, its ok, but don’t lease for long term. Best wishes

Horrible place! In November, my kid woke up with these bites all over her body. Bed bugs!!! Highly irritating and they can carry infectious disease. And, after talking to a pest eradication expert, they told me that there is a high chance the bed bugs won't be gone after he's done. Good thing my lease was almost up. And because of that, we basically had to throw away our recently purchased mattress and box, and also our furniture and clothes. We just couldn't risk carrying those critters with me to my new place. And come to think of it, we wasn't even saving that much, in fact, our new place is larger and cheaper. Plus, the water gets shut off on a regular basis, winndows are drafty, appliances are old.

Building is somewhat clean. The residents are nice and not too loud. The main issue is the drunks and homeless people on the street.

the laundry room is a joke! Terrible washers that don't clean your clothes properly, never even heard of the brand of washers , just some cheap washers that still leave stains in your clothes . They have the nerve to charge you $10 every time you want to do load but the money clearly is not going into the laundry room . Im not a negative person but management needs to stop being so cheap & give the residents proper washing machines.....

My Amazon package was stolen right outside the building management office. I called the office, their response was literally and I quote "If you are scared you can go" and then rudely hung up on me.

I don't know what dishwashers there talking about but I've been in some of there 1 bedroom apartments and I have yet to c any dishwashers in them I wouldn't live here thw feeling in this building is very oppressed and heavy and negative yuk !!!

Downtown Quality Living Rental Property that most tenant/future tenant are looking for:" Value for money: Garden tower are great property to deal with rent rate, Van is reasonable as well as the management team who support him. This is a great advantage if you are renting a property with independent owners. Location: Pretty close for all public transportation Safety: You will feel safe in how the the management team work hard to secure and provide security for a massive residential apartments. Customer Service: That is a gem that it hard to find in the rental property,where in Van has no effort to deliver as he is naturally deal and manage Garden Towers in highest level of Professionalism. Remember 12 months of agreement matters when you have a horrible management where you live. I live in Garden Towers for 2 year Unit 3001, and I have no major issues, no complains at all as I know how to appreciate, how hard the worth of every single service provided to me, were beyond expectation the leasing personnel render to us. I don't know y people expect not to encounter homeless people. They are 95 percent nicer than y'all. U would do exactly what they are if u were homeless and maybe worst. They aren't a threat if u avoid them at all cost while been nice. Love Garden Towers. Only thing it's an older building. Price is good. The tenants essentially of some background is quite nasty.

Every year there will be a problem, and management not caring about the tenants. On 2019 15+ days hot water was not there and on 2020 Jan 3rd week( out side temperature is below - 30)heating system is not working as expected. Complaints raised by most of the tenants.. But no use...

worst place to rent, rude management, lots of breakins in parking, smashing car windows, lots of roaches, and bed bugs comes free when you rent here, i advice people to not rent here as management gives a blind eye to any of the problems, never saw such a rude and horrible management, it was good until there was previous management. If you break anything then u pay for it as maintenance doesnt do anything, very dirty smelling building too, everything is old and breaks, avoid renting in this building

Have lived here for half a year and immediately regretted signing the lease. Staff in the building are very nice but there is MAJOR room for improvement in a lot of areas. Apartments are also pretty generous in terms of space, but that’s about it in terms of positive notes. On the other hand, there is a rampant cockroach problem in the building, and despite countless very abrupt attempts at controlling it from the buildings contractors they are still everywhere. The area itself is awful and full of drug addicts. I have a inkling that the cost of rent is reflective of the fact that the building is close to the train, but the condition of the area itself almost neutralizes that. The shower head in the shower is very short, even for someone who is 5,10. There is also no working fans in the washroom or kitchen (despite there being a vent above the stove there is no actual way to turn it on). The main bedroom had no lighting at all (the Pugh switch turned on an outlet instead). The bathtub and sink in the washroom have very cheap and flimsy drain plugs attached to chains that are almost impossible to fit fully into the drain without them slipping out. There is no A/C in the suites and the thermostats are very dated. Windows in the bedroom are the same windows you would see on old school busses with the 2 sliders, and are a hassle to deal with. Blinds are a mangled and broken mess. You have to be a very heavy sleeper to live in this building, as there is constantly noise from the train outside as well as people screaming and sometimes construction being done on the train tracks which will entail them usually working through the entire night with very loud machinery. Also on another note, the traps and pesticide used in the infestation process are harmful to animals and placed in the open. People pulling the fire alarm is a regular thing. The building is patrolled by a security guard at night but cad break ins are regular. The alley is full of users and the homeless. The amenities that the building offers were not in use during covid but that did not seem to affect the cost of rent at all. In my opinion the whole building should be taken down and rebuilt. I am paying way too much money to live with all these inconveniences.

Van, the building manager for garden towers 909 7th Ave building, is an excellent person. He is the best building manager I've ever come across, very helpful and cooperative. I've lived in the towers for 3 years and it was a wonderful experience. Keep up the good work Van, you're the best!!!!

To be clear: the leasing agents who work in the office are TRYING THEIR HARDEST to turn this building around. They inherited one of the most infamous spots in Calgary and have taken steps to address many of these issues. There are crazy tenants, issues outside the doors, and they are tragically understaffed. Many of these issues were not caused by the office staff, and they are actually good overall. If you need an AFFORDABLE place for the square-footage, this is a good start. The review: Despite the lack of advertised amenities, a discounted rent request was refused. Hand sanitizer was put in elevators seven months into pandemic; immediately torn from walls and destroyed by tenants. Outside front door is constantly surrounded by sketch individuals and the "After Hours Security Line" is a single man's cell phone, which almost always goes to voicemail. All of this I could put up with because of the very affordable rent. But now we've got bedbugs - so we've got to leave.

The Garden Towers has been there for awhile - one of the older buildings, 34 storeys. Absolutely incredible views on either side due to location on West end of the Beltline, Downtown Calgary. Easy access to Crowchild and Deerfoot trails makes commute in/out of Downtown core reliable. Views of mountains, big open sky and also two sections of the Bow river give the unit a luxury feel. Most affordable apartments in downtown Calgary due to age of building. MacDonalds, Tim Hortons, Subway, Circle K, and Moxie's Sports Bar all on the same block, with train stop across the nearest intersection. Mangement is very kind and available through out the week - onsite laundry room has more than enough machines, and a pool/fitness centre. Parking available attached to building below. All that being said, the best part of of living here are the friendly neighbors, who unlike most of Calgary, are very approachable and kind.

in the short time I've stayed here in stiff stolen and watched homeless people break in because garden towers don't have good security thay have on call security that is never there and take at least 30 mins just to get to you if you call all of there doors with locks on them can be as easy as pushed in. I loved staying here until I found out how bad of security thay have it's a vary unsafe place

I lived in Gardwn Tower for 5 years, it is a affordable, convenient and safer place to live, with a big room and a wide living room very clean. The building manager Van is very helpful and very friendly with the tenant. Van I would like to say big thank you for such a great service keep up the good work. I will consider Garden Tower in the future and recommended to all of my friend.
