Finally, an Edmonton Contractor that knows what they're doing. Classic did a great job on my large backyard project. Some challenges with weather delays at the start but can't control the weather. Some communication issues as well until Liliia took over my project. Immediately felt some assurances and a new confidence in Classic. Late season but they managed to get it done before the snow arrived. Looks amazing too, very very happy. I would recommend Classic for sure.

**UPDATE** So......this company commented on my review saying they would check into it...blah blah blah. What they really meant was that they were going to make an even bigger mess for us residents! Horrible company that hires inexperienced cash workers, minimal supervision, and sloppy work. I uploaded more pictures of the finished work with the chips and stuff around the trees and shrubs and the HUGE mess they left in their wake! They even left pieces of wood and debris lying around and this is a family neighborhood. We, as the residents should not have to clean up after these guys. They should be cleaning up their own mess behind them. It's just lazy and unprofessional. I talked to a couple of their laborers and even they don't have nice things to say about their company. They said the term "good enough" gets used alot, or "just leave it". This company is doing work for the builders in our area. They cut a bunch of holes in the grass patches on the city side of the sidewalk in Spruce Grove, and not only are they super slow, hire guys that haven't a clue what they're doing, but leave a big mess in their wake. We keep our neighborhood pretty clean imo, but these guys come through and make a mess and don't clean up behind themselves so we track mud into houses on our shoes and our animals cus they leave all the sidewalks and road full of dirt/mud. I watched one of their workers level raking topsoil on the same 2-3 foot patch of dirt for a half hour. Lol. Then I watched him raking a foot wide 30ft long patch of topsoil just to level it. Guy took so many breaks to stop and just look around and rest I swear he took more steps than working. Lol. And then his supervisor came along and had to redo it all anyways behind him. Lol. The part that pissed me off the most was I seen one of the little local kids trip over a metal bar they left laying on the grass and almost hit her head on the metal bars to support small trees.

Good place to go if you wanna get the dirt on something... Or rocks, mulch, boulders...... Large selection of landscaping materials. The staff was pleasant and helpful EDIT - the "Garden Mix" we got from them turned out to be very clay heavy and hard to work with in our raised garden... required much incorporation of lighter bio materials to make the soil workable and not like cement.. Our first year garden in that soil did not grow well at all. After we incorporated a lighter soil into the mix we have a much better garden this year.

Project began around the dinner table when as a family we talked about what we would like to see to improve our front, side and rear landscaping. We selected Classic from a group of three based on references, cost and availability. Liliia with Classic reviewed our initial ideas and offered suggestions and insights based on her experience. On the second meeting we settled on a design, which Liliia then put to paper for our review, which included a rough cost estimate. These discussions were during winter with snow on the ground but we were able to provide summer photos to refer to. Some minor plan changes were made afterwards coming from each party. Final plan on paper done to scale was received for our review and sign-off on the quote. After this point in time, changes to the plan having an affect on cost resulted in formal change orders via simple exchange of emails. Work began on schedule. The crew on site was clearly experienced and were familiar with the plan. They were excellent at contacting us in person or by text message when decisions needed to be made on the fly as to how to accomplish a particular component of the plan when there was more than one way to do it. They would frequently have their own recommendation on how to proceed but as much as possible they looked to us to be involved in day to day decisions. Liliia made three site visits during the project, which was completed in early August 2018. A hard landscaping issue unanticipated by neither us nor Classic took some time to understand but was ultimately completely resolved. In May 2019, of the approximately 130 shrubs and perennials Classic planted in 2018 there were four that did not survive the winter and we utilized their one –year guarantee to have them replaced at no cost. We chose to do the re-planting ourselves. Post-winter all three paving stone patios were solid with negligible shifting or settling. We continue to receive positive comments from neighbours on the design and execution of this landscaping project and are very pleased with the end product. Even with not-yet-matured shrubs and perennials we were nominated by our neighbours for a Front Yard in Bloom award!!!!

I need to leave this review in the hopes that it prompts someone at Classic Landscaping to figure out being able to order online or at the very least, see prices on their website. When I went into Classic last year, their team was very helpful and offered me pricing sheets to go with the products I was looking at (so these sheets exist, they just need to be uploaded to the website). We've also picked up road crush here in the past and the yard people were awesome, too! So basically I'm saying this is a 5-star place with a 1-star website. I'm looking forward to changing this review once they put something up on their site that would help with planning. Hopefully the right person reads this!

Lainy Abbott , a professional Green Thumb assisted me in purchasing over 40 different plants, trees and shrubs. With a simple drawing and photo of my project she was quickly able to pick plants most suited for the location. To think I'd initially come to purchase 5 pieces of sod lol. .. That's great sales ????????. Today, I went to this place, paid for one cubic yard of cedar mulch, and when I went to load it in my SUV, I was told I had to go back to pay for a bag. I went back, and I was told the bag is $15, and I had to also pay $15 for filling the bag. Since the back of the SUV does not fit one cubic yard, I have to make two trips, and if I bring the bag back, I have to pay another $15 for filling the bag. I thought I should have been given the information when I first paid, so I didn't have to go back to pay for the bag. Second, why should I pay twice each time for filling the bag half full? I decided to cancel my purchase due to the unpleasant experience.

This place offers a variety of plants that are in good conditions. I could go to Home Depot or Canadian tire to pick up plants but I go here when I need a healthier and well maintained plant (or specific plants you are looking for other than whats offered on the shelf) as well as great customer services. The staff here are very knowledgeable about what they are doing and they are super friendly. I put my name on for the rubber plants and they called to let me know when they arrived. I expected one kind of plant but they came in two different types of rubber plants and I end up getting all. They provided a care sheet and useful tips. I will definitely come back for more plants to complete my living room.

Having some things going sideways in my "mature" yard, I've needed advice. I've asked for it from every greenhouse I've been to in the last couple years but I never got any real useful information. Then I had the good fortune of meeting Liliia Khomich. Wow! She walked through our yard, observing every leaf and twig, and with a stream of rapid-fire information I learned about pruning, fertilizing, disease, cross-pollinators, watering. I got a quote for my backyard landscaping project from Kirsten. She has been very nice since beginning, however their management seems to be very greedy in nature. First, organization is super busy to take any more contracts. Getting someone out to view the scope and providing the quote is very time consuming. Second and the most unpleasant part. I was quoted an amount initially, and 2-3 weeks later I got an email that their manager made a mistake in the quote for labor pricing, and now the new quote is 30% higher from the original quote. I would have been more pleased if they notified me of not taking my project due to unavailability but escalating price is not justified from any viewpoint. Why a person would give more than $4k+ for their increased labor cost? There have been several rounds of quote for various material but they realized their labor pricing in the end when I asked to prepare drawing and scope of work just before signing the contract. Classic landscape not only lose my business but also any future reference that I could have done. Very disappointing.

Their plants are a little pricey but they are good quality plants. I have bought my blueberry plants in spring. I try to get 1 every year there, and they have all survived winter with no problem. And produce good sweet berries. The plant I bought at Wall M died in the winter time. The staff are always nice.

The grass would not grow well along the basement wall and we wanted to disguise some of the vents and pipes. Albeit a small project, Liliia had a proposal back to us within a week and gave us exactly what we asked for while applying her extensive knowledge and experience. They don't deserve the 1 star but it's the minimum in order to post something. If you are offered a gift certificate from your builder and do not plan to spend above and beyond the gift amount I highly recommend you negotiate out of the deal. Do not take this deal with your builder!!! We met with Classic back in March to do the design. We asked to get scheduled in as soon as the snow melted so we could enjoy our backyard this summer and we were told no need to schedule anything and to just call and they would be out within a week or so to do our landscaping. We called in June to have our landscaping done and it is now end of August and still have no firm date. To make matters worse, 95% of the time they don't answer their phones and when you are forced to leave a message they do not return your call. Forget about emails as they don't respond to those either. I even made a trip there and the person responsible for our file couldn't even be bothered to come down to speak to me. They make you literally beg them and they will give you some random date or ridiculous time frame that they will show just to get you off their back. Once that time frame passes, you spend weeks trying to get a hold of someone again to give you another made up date and the cycle goes on and on. Like I said, we are now at the end of August and still have no clue if and when they will come. I've never been so frustrated dealing with a company. I probably wouldn't be so upset if we were kept in the loop with things but no one has ever once called us to apologize or inform us of their schedule delays. They just expect you to sit there and wait for when they feel like coming.

I have been working with Liliia Khomich of Classic Landscapes with respect to completing the landscaping in the backyard of our new home. Unfortunately our developer left the site incomplete because of going bankrupt which has resulted in many delays etc. Liliia has been very helpful not only to us but also other owners in our adult community with a view to getting our yards completed. Liliia also has been very helpful in meetings and phone calls with the City of Edmonton as a result of the bankruptcy of our Developer and the resultant process. When asked she has never hesitated to help us out and provide the guidance we need to get the project finished. Liliia is knowledgeable and took the time to explain how the design plan came together and listened to our choices for all the plantings. She explained the landscaping process and what to expect when the work is being done. Her design plan is absolutely beautiful and we are looking forward to many years of enjoyment in our backyard. Liliia has gone the extra mile for us from the very beginning and we would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone wanting landscape design and installation.

This greenhouse is an excellent option for any gardening needs, both commercial and personal. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and willing to go that extra mile to find out what you need to know if they don't have the information off hand. The selection is spectacular and the prices are reflective of the quality of products that are on offer. This is a gem that doesn't feel as mashed together as some of the more mainstream greenhouses and provides a unique experience if you're looking to spruce up your backyard or garden. There is also a wide selection of indoor plants and products which are excellently arranged to suite your needs (low light, moisture levels, or whatever your specific needs might call for). They also carry some unique plants that might be hard to find at other retailers. A++

Our Landscape Designer Liliia did a fantastic job of designing our entire yard from front to back, including Rock work and a FirePit. Liliia took our wants/needs and designed us amazing colour combinations so our yard will have colour through the four seasons. Her on site crew lead by Carson, worked long days getting the FirePit and Rock work just right.They spent many hours each day for nearly 3weeks, getting the yard prepped, graded and planted with the various Trees/Shrubs/Flowers and Grasses as well as laying our Sod. The Rock Work took sometime to get just right, but Carson made the adjustments we wanted without issue. The Crew worked even when the weather was not ideal. Liliia came on site to verify the plantings and to make some minor adjustments. We “Highly” recommend Classic Landscaping and we will call on Liliia once again when we design our patio.

Classic Landscapes just finished a wonderful complete landscaping project at our new house. They built our deck, built our fence and did all the landscaping at our house. What started out as communication problem, Brandley Payne, (the general manager) took the time to come out to our house and listen to our concerns. Brandley proceeded to take over our project and revived the plan and saw it through to completion. Brandley brought the project back to life again, fixed what was missing, fixed some of the fencing issues, and listened to what my wife wanted and added some extra landscaping requests as the project went along. Brandley kick started the landscaping part of the project right away. The deck and fence were already completed. The crew of two guys started the next day and finished all the landscaping in a week. We watched in amazement the care and thoughtfulness as they worked on our landscaping plan. As this was a rather large project, Brandley was in constant contact with us and made numerous site visits to make sure everything was proceeding as planned and made some changes as we went. All I can say is WOW! I guess this review is much about Brandley as it is about our landscaping project. Brandley's approach, maturity, experience, and willingness to communicate and honestly listen to every detail is something I have not seen in many years. Brandley has made us believers in Classic Landscapes. The material is touch notch, the workmanship from our crew was professional and exceeded our expectations. I know Brandley is not an everyday designer but he took our vision and turned it into a beautiful creation that everyone talks about. Thank you Brandley, and Thank you to Classic Landscapes. They really put the effort and care into our project and definitely shows.

I had a warranty issue that I was trying to get solved which was two years old. I was asked to go speak to the ladies at Classic I was very disappointed that it was a warranty issue that I was trying to claim for two years as they never had the stock. They called the tree farm and said I had to go there and get it or they would charge me between $25 and $75 to have it delivered to Ellerslie. These young ladies were of zero help and quite frankly didn’t care if I was happy or not. If it was not for the wonderful staff at the Ellerslie gift and garden who went above and beyond I would never support this business again!

Writing this review for two terrible interactions with Classic: 1) We called and had Classic come out to do a quote for some landscaping in our backyard. After coming out, we were told we would have a quote in two days. After trying to email the young woman who came out to give us a quote and calling several times, we still have now had no response. It’s August this weekend, so clearly the timeline given to us for a quote is beyond late. 2) I ordered “garden soil” for my garden planters and it was full of weeds. I know it’s the soil because I also used it when I was short soil for one flower pot as well, and the same weeds that keep growing in the garden are only present in that one flower pot as well. Definitely do not recommend Classic and will not be coming here in the future for any supplies or landscaping needs.

We hired Classic to look after our new home landscaping. Liliia, as one of the two landscape architects with a Masters Degree in the Edmonton area, was professional, friendly, and completely committed to the details of our project. Her crews (one for the hardscaping and one for the soft landscaping such as soil, plant material and mulch) were hard-working and open to all suggestions. This company does not work cheaply, but must be at the very top of landscaping companies in the Edmonton area. We love the result! And, with their guarantee on all plants, we know that if anything does not survive the winter they will replace it without question. Highly recommended.

Delivery of our tree took more than a month and then it died, and despite many phone calls and emails we could not get a response from the company regarding their one year warrantee on the tree.
