Really frustrated with the customer service in the automotive department. What originally started out as some brake work has turned into 5 days (so far..it's not over yet). It's been like Groundhog day, everyday I phone them just to hear "it's not ready" and "tomorrow for sure". Is it too much to ask that they phone customers to let them know if they aren't going to be finished when they told you they would be? I really want to use Canadian Tire for automotive work but customer service has been a big letdown....Now to figure out how I'm going to get to work again tomorrow!

Called ahead of time to confirm #04095550 was in stock (was told yes we have 3). I drove to this location from Fort McMurray as our location didn't have one in stock. Get here and am told "it says we have 3 but sorry it's not on the shelf". Doesn't get much worse than that.

Went here to get a couple of extension cords and cat food. Actually I've been tothis Canadian Tire store three times in the past week. They always seem to have whatever I need. Great place to pick up little odds and ends. They have an amazingly varied selection of tires, tools, cookware, sporting goods, electrical and plumbing parts, space heaters (for in your home or garage - not outer space), pet supplies, garden tools and plants, and of course they have a huge variety of Christmas decorations. Lots of staff scurrying about keeping the shelves filled. Oh, I forgot to mention, they have a full service auto repair shop.

Terrible service!! Waited over 20 minutes for a stock person to get a wiperblade from the back, that is, after spending 10-15 minutes trying to find a store associate. Should have driven to another location, it would have been quicker.

Longtime CTC customer but won't be shopping at this new store in Emerald Hills, Sherwood Park anymore. Was only looking to exchange a windshield wiper that had the wrong fittings (was not "OE" but should have been). No receipt but they have always been willing to look up purchase date in the past. This time, I NEEDED to know the date or at least the month. When it wasn't found in the month I thought, nothing they could do - again, only wanted to exchange it. I ended up leaving and told them to keep it, no use to me. I was never loud and stayed very polite. Now I'm just disappointed but I will still shop at other locations, just not this one.

My partner and I had been looking for an AC unit and had bad experiences with customer service at different stores. When we saw there were 3 available at this location we called and asked if they did actually have 3. The guy on the phone was awesome and actually went and physically checked for us (not just checking online inventory which could be not up-to-date) He came back right away and said that they did have 3. He put one on hold for us to pick up later that day (a new one that had never been bought and returned). When we picked it up we weren't sure where to go. The guy on the phone said "customer service" but the sign just said "customer returns" (or something). The lovely lady that was there asked if we needed help right away, and we said we were looking for customer service and she said "I'm right here for ya!" She was very sweet and gave us our AC unit and offered to have someone help us bring it to the car. Didn't catch her name but she had shoulder length curled hair and henna on her hands. Shout out to the guy on the phone and woman at the customer service desk!!! We were very happy to have such good service :)

I ordered a car part on the Canadian Tire website that said the expected delivery to this store would be 2 days, or September 6. When the part didn't arrive on the sixth I called the store and after a bit of back and forth was able to find out that the actual expected delivery date was a full week later, the 13th. This is not the fault of the store team, but the person I spoke to on the customer service line for Canadian Tire corporate was so completely unhelpful about the situation that this is my only recourse. If you're pressed for time getting a part in quickly, go somewhere else. Don't bother with Canadian Tire's online system. I ended up ordering from Rock Auto and paying a whopping $120 to get the thing shipped to me this week. Thanks for nothing, Canadian Tire.

Went in to get new tires installed on my vehicle and a wheel alignment, booked an appointment and picked tires they had in stock. The day comes to have my tires installed, they had my vehicle in right away and up in the vehicle lift. I waited around from 2pm to 430pm to find out that there sales associates have already sold the tires I had on hold. Then had to wait an hour for them to put my old tires back on. Then, when leaving, the desk person tries to charge me for the work they didn’t do… and had issues finding information about the lack of work done to my vehicle so I could take my keys and leave. Finally did around 530pm with nothing done. This waste of time and inconvenience could have been avoided Simply by Checking the work order to make sure you have the parts to have it done. Proper communication and procedure so that parts on hold can go with the intended person and when service (or lack of service in this case) is completed a person can leave in a timely manner without seeing the worker scramble around asking everybody what’s going on with the vehicle.

They use self checkouts, at least they have each time I've gone. Large store which takes a while to get to any of the sections. For some reason I get static shocks every time I'm there... I can't push the carts, oddly, without constant shocks. It's a nice clean store, typical Canadian Tire.

Awesome brand new store! Staff are friendly and helpful for the most part with some being more-so than others. The prices are standard for Canadian Tire but this store is huge and has a lot of selection. The garden centre is awesome and the plants seem to be well taken care of. The store is also super clean and most shelves are completely full. The people in the automotive section where very helpful and helped me find the products I needed. Overall a great store and I will happily be returning.

I was extremely excited to have a new Canadian tire open so close to home. Unfortunately, I have been hugely disappointed since and make a point to avoid this location. While the store is large with plenty of selection, product is often mislabelled with inaccurate prices and the staff is anything but accommodating nor friendly. I have escalated my concerns in regards to staff conduct to the management level with no luck as management conduct is just as poor. Absolutely would not recommend shopping at this location.

This a huge store. It’s fairly new, built within the past year. It’s clean and well lit. The store has it all as general merchandise is concerned. From auto parts to hockey sticks to pots and pans to tents. There is just an astounding amount of stuff on this store. It’s part of a national chain of stores. This is in a good location and is easily accessible.

Horrible experience, we ordered some bikes in order to get out of the house during an already difficult time. I passed up some other opportunities thinking CT was a responsible and long standing business (big mistake). I even called in to check, since I had other options, if I could come to pick up my order and was reassured that all I had to do was wait for assembly. Next thing I know I get a call and am being told my order isn't available unfortunately meaning either dishonesty or incompetence. Basically a giant waste of time for me and complete lack of consideration or sense of responsibility from CT. So I would avoid making any substantial purchases here if you are looking for any reliability or integrity in your experience.

He was kind enough to do it for me before going on his break, and he was just such a kind, wonderful and helpful employee. Thank you so much for accommodating me!

20 minute wait to talk to someone at parts desk. Discussed over which belt I needed for the car 3 times, the one with AC. Still get given the wrong belt, it’s way too short it’s for the car withoutAC. Have to drive back across town again to get the right belt. Get to the store wait another 15 minutes to talk to someone, they can’t find the belt I need even though it’s in inventory. Now I have to go to customer service waiting in another line to get a refund and go to another store to get the right belt. Massive waste of time, horrendous service, too low of staffing, inaccurate inventory. Do not shop here for parts.

Awful. Was driving to work in emerald hills right across from this canadian tire. I had my front passenger tire go flat. I take it to them to look at my front passenger tire solely out of convenience. I leave it with them. They than call me and tell me all these other things I need . They performed inspection without my permission or knowledge or consent. I say no to most things said conidering I have a mechanic I always use and trust what he says,but I do have them clean my battery and put in my new headlights i already purchased and change my flat with a spare I have. Well they clearly performed electrical diagnostics as when I get in all my presets are gone and my lights are acting funny . Well I'm driving home my car when stopped now just goes dead my dash lights up like the fourth of July and I'm scared to drive it which it has never done before you touched it. I call around to find out if these things can happen if electrical diagnostics are preformed . I'm informed they definitely can if done by someone who doesnt know what they are doing or are incompetent. I will be taking my car to a mechanic I trust to see what the hell you guys did to my car and I assure you, you will be paying for it and if not I'll be seeing you in court to settle the matter as I assure you I will not be going away quietly. You will never be touching my car again so offering your guys is not an option. Beware take ur car anywhere but here or pay the price.

Terrible customer service, took forever to find a competent employee after asking 2 incompetent ones who had no idea about their own store layout. Once I found a competent employee who knew the store, (who was overworked and underpaid for picking up the slack of all the other employees) there were 4 people waiting to talk to him, following him around the store. Took 1hr35m to get 3 items. Stock was all over the place, not a single aisle was tidy or clean, and I've never been to a worse canadian tire overall

I had picked up a box of windshield washer fluid and the price rang through differently at the check-out. Turned out that two different product were stacked next to each other and they looked the same. They still gave me the discount. One star off for their sluggish computer terminals. Some are out of order.

No respect for their customers. Went for some tools and watched some employees CHASE down a super pregnant woman who had her other small kids in tow because she wasn’t wearing a mask. Overheard she was trying to buy her kids a pool, and mind you it was the hottest day of the year. She claimed to be fully vaccinated and couldn’t wear a mask and made her leave from what I had heard. Very embarrassing for Canadian Tire, last time I checked they weren’t doctors. Won’t be back to this store again.

Had probably the worst experience at Canadian tires service department. Phoned in and asked for an app to get the winter tires swapped over and they told us they had time at 2pm. So we came in for 2, and we asked how long it would take since we had our 4 month old daughter with us and no other vehicle. They told us no more than an hour to hour and a half. So we decided to do some shopping around the area during the app. 1.5 hours in they give us a call about some info on the truck, which whatever, but by the sounds of the call they hadn’t even started working on the truck. So by 2 hours we went inside to ask how much longer and the guy just said “ya, we will get it done when we can” ... so we ended up leaving for another half hour with our already fussy 4 month old; and once again. Still not done. Truck was still up in the air with no tires. By 4:40 we had went in and seen them rushing to get the work done at that point ... we then waited 15 more minutes to get cashed out while they helped 2 other customers that came in after us. I feel like if you don’t have the time, don’t book the apps. I would not recommend because their customer service was very poor. No apologies for the delay just told in a jokingly manner that “oh look, it’s done”. It does not take 3 hours to swap tires. Also we noticed they completely destroyed the lock nut and bolts. Thanks a lot !

Called multiple Canadian Tires in search for a certain item. Emerald Hills location were the only ones to have it. After confirming inventory, we drove across the city to buy their remaining stock. We arrived at 7:30pm and looked around for the items. They we're not inside the store. We approched a friendly staff and asked where these items might be. After about 15 mins, she confirmed the items were at the garden center outside, which can't be accessed from inside. We exit the store to go around arriving at a closed gate at about 7:50pm. We see the boy who had closed up and was carrying the till drawer from his cash register. We make eye contact, but he proceeds to enter the main store from inside the garden center. We walk back inside and asks the lady at the front desk if there was any way to get the items and pay for them inside (still well within operating hours). We we're told bluntly to come back the next day. Thanks for wasting our time. If your operating hours are not what is advertised, why post a time at all? If I could give a 0 star raring, I probably would.

Only ONE girl who was racking carts at the front today (late afternoon) acknowledged that I needed assistance and was kind enough to answer my questions and resolve my request immediately. Other than her, you practically have to wave your arms in their faces to get their attention to get any kind of assistance here. 95% of the employees in this store actually avoided customers for the fear of being asked a question or put to work.

Managed to get a Christmas present (toy) in late November that was on sale. Turns out, after opening on Christmas, one part of the toy (a motor) didn't work. So, fine, I'll return it. But, because it's been opened, and it's been a month, only get store credit. I'm not sure how I could have known about the faulty motor without opening it. Just to add insult to injury, the store credit expires after 12 months (assuming I understood correctly - what the employee wrote wasn't entirely legible, and all the masks and plexiglass made it hard to understand), so if I don't go back in time, or I forget the card, I'm SOL - with neither the money nor the toy. Basically, once I find a way to use up this card, I am not intending to return to Canadian Tire again. I'll be sure to purchase only from retailers with reasonable Christmas return policies. Especially during the pandemic.

Absolute terrible service in the parts and service department. Would not recommend to anyone. Ordered tires was told they would be here in two days paperwork was lost and never done properly tires took 8 days to get here and multiples phone calls trying to get a hold of someone who could get me an answer only to be told nothing we can do you’ll have to wait for a manager to call you back and three times being told this the manager never called. Finally manage to get through to one on the fourth call he told me the tires were in we made an appointment for to get them swapped into rims. An hour and a half after my appointment they call because they don’t know why the truck is there or what they are supposed to be doing with it. An absolute joke. Will never get work done or recommend this place to anyone

I usually get pretty horrible service at any Cad Tire I've ever visited in my life, so I call in advance to try and avoid any hassle (has historically proven to not be able to avoid an inevitable nightmare). This was wildly different. Called sports and got Kelly on the phone, he found the product I was looking for (and searched for it across the warehouse while on the phone), held it and brought it behind his desk. When I walked in I headed to the sports desk AND WAS ASKED IF I NEEDED HELP BEFORE I GOT THERE!!!! I was blown away. Awesome customer service. Never thought I'd say that about a CT.

I phoned to see if they would be able to squeeze me in to balance two tires already off the vehicle. I was told they would be able to get to it between 9:30-10am. I showed up just before 9:30, was ignored for a few minutes by the service advisor, who then told me I would need to leave them for several hours. This would not work for me. Had this been explained on the phone instead of being told a half hour window, I wouldn't have loaded them into my truck, and pulled my trailer out of my way in order to make the timeline. Service advisor was rude through out the Interaction. This is the last of several unpleasant interaction with Canadian Tire service. My money is appreciated elsewhere.

After my two(2) new front tires were installed, I noticed a "shimmy" or vibration in the steering wheel. When I called to talk to the on-duty manager, Richard, I explained I thought the balance was off in one of the wheels and he was sympathetic and got me in, right away. The technician, Michael did a great job re-balancing the wheels and personally came into the waiting area to let me know that I was right about the balance, and that he had corrected it and also inflated all four(4) tires to the right pressure. This is outstanding service! I am very pleased with the service at the Emerald Hills location! :)

About 50% of the staff I dealt with, the other 50% were clueless and didn't care at all. The last 4 visits the inventory they confirmed that they had was not there. Probably the worst managed Canadian Tire store I have dealt with. The other Sherwood Park store is way better, but the Emerald Hills store is closer and larger, but a big disappointment.

I bought something that I thought could not be returned. Canadian Tire website said it had a 1 year warranty so I called the store for clarification. Customer service asked if I had used all the product. When I said no, she said to bring it back for an exchange. I made a special trip to do that and was told by another customer service staff that I could only exchange it and to get the item I wanted to exchange it for. I did that and when I went back to customer service she now said she had to speak to the manager then when she got off the phone she said they couldn’t take it back. I wasted over 2 hours to find out that their website is not correct and staff are not trained properly. If the first CS I spoke with had said no or even if the second CS had checked with the manager when I first arrived I would not have wasted so much time.

Very quiet hence going at 9pm, so I could avoid people Mask warn by staff and geared up for Social Distancing. Bought Led Bulbs for porch. Multi colored Very nice. Great bright huge Store. Something for everyone if you had time to look around. Stock look up station gave us what we needed so we were in and out the store. Look up online what you need to make your visit Safe.

I usually have a very good experience at this specific store, but tonight was treated extremely disrespectful by two young male staff members. I asked for assistance finding a specific type of duck tape on the shelf in which there was very limited selection. I searched the product in the self service machine in the store and it said that there were 12 available. I asked the staff members for assistance and they told me they would go look in the back and return within 5 minutes. I was waiting for over 10 minutes in the same place I asked for help, I decided to look around for them and I seen them standing at the paint desk doing absolutely no work whatsoever. As I walked past they just gave me smirks and laughed. Extremely disappointed with the way I was treated today.

This newer location is big and has tonnes of stuff. Wasn't all restocked in the section I visited but the staff were aware and were amazingly helpful. COVID protocols were all well executed too. Somebody here cares to get it right and it shows. My new home away from home.

Went to the Emerald Hills location to pick up a 4 pack of furnace filters. They were sold out of the ones on sale at Manning. This is very much the same as my usual store. Organized and clean. We were at the Emerald Hills Canadian Tire looking for a shopvac that was advertised on sale but the one that was beside the sale price tag was the wrong one. When we got to the check out there was some confusion but Robin who was on her break but passing by took the time to lead me to the correct vacuum and make sure it was the ‘as advertised’ one. Had she not intervened we probably would have left without a shopvac! A very close friend suffering from Cancer just got out of hospital FRM having more surgery. Her family finally got her gazebo built and all she has wanted to do this summer is play cards in their wth her family but she needed lights to b able to see in there. I’m not sure what is going on with this store but the employees are pretty rude. I went in to buy some bags for my food sealer. I was walking out when a young man told me they were closed. I asked if I could ring them up and that I was done shopping. He said I couldn’t and that they were closed. I handed him the bags and walked out. The tills had a few people in line. That’s just one time. Too many experiences with rude employees so we are not shopping there again. Lowe’s is the opposite and has everything we need.

Be careful if you buy any hunting equipment here. I thought I was buying a clip for my rifle. Salesman sold me the wrong clip. Was not told that it was considered final sale and I could not return if it did not fit my rifle. Now I have a $70 clip that I will never use. Update: The Manager contacted me and i was able to exchange my rifle clip for the correct one. i am thankful it got resolved.
