I have lived in the Yukon my whole life, I have raised 4 children, celebrated many bdays, fathers/mothers days, Christmas, Canada days, Halloween’s etc here. I like to go all out and make every occasion a good time???? This store, though over priced, has happily seen many of my hard earned dollars spent here. That all changed this weekend when I, and my well mannered daughter were shopping for pride decorations. I over heard an incredibly rude older employee telling my young daughter in a very mean tone that she has to buy the nail polish she had opened to look at the colour. I called the lady out on it, told her she was nothing short of a bully. I left my full cart there and went to Walmart instead. Funny thing is, had she just explained in a kind/humane way to my daughter or myself that she shouldn’t open them to see the colour I would have apologized and gladly bought the nail polish along with all the other things I had planned to purchase. The store is ok. A good variety of items. The staff are friendly and helpful. BUT to call this a dollar store is misleading... Everyone calls it the TEN dollar store. And they have a door chime that rings every time someone enters or leaves, driving everyone inside crazy!

Okay, so most items are actually a few dollars, but they're still more affordable than you'll find elsewhere in town and considering how far most goods have be transported to come here, I'd say their prices are more than fair. They really do have some of everything, from crafts to party supplies to kitchen ware, hardware, pet supplies, snacks, and seasonal stuff. Staff are great as well. They even had pool noodles in October.

This Dollar Store is way better than an other dollar store I have ever been to. Not sure if it is a Canadian thing or if it is a US thing when it comes to selection and quality! Something for everyone and everything it seems! Like a Dollar Store's the name itself is very misleading no matter where you go. You will pay the same price on the more quality things that you'd find at a hardware store or even Walmart. However, this store you will find ALOT of variety from spice iers, candy, piggy Banks, socks, costumes, cups, even pinyatas and animal treats! The only thing I did not like is that the American flag was stored improperly. In a rectangular box. When it's supposed to folded always for respect. Other than that this is a fun store!

Most of the people in there are very friendly there is one that's a bit rude and won't let you put your kids down but overall it's not super expensive for being in Whitehorse and the lady we mostly see there is extremely friendly

A few years ago, I happened to regain acquaintanceship with an old friend. We’d been apart for years, so I was taken aback by the fact that he was currently homeless. He showed me where he slept, how he ate, etc. it was eye-opening. He might not have been rich, but he lived well. Anyway, I had (embarrassingly) forgotten about this experience until recently - as soon as I entered this store. It made my friend’s dumpster seem like Shangri La. This store has worse selection than a dumpster in an alley.

OK, so it is mostly just anorher store filled with cheap imported Chinese junk but it does have a good range of craft, travel, camping and homeware needs at good prices.

If you’re expecting everything to be a dollar, this is not that. But, there is lots of variety in this store...great for kids birthday party supplies and kids craft supplies. They also stock a decent selection of Wilton products if you’re into baking and a whole lot of other stuff.

They have no business calling themselves a dollar store when many products are not a dollar, or close to a dollar, and are sometimes a lot more expensive than elsewhere. I was looking for a cheap insulated cooler bag and found one for $15. I thought it was a bit pricey and looked at the Canadian Superstore nearby and found a similar capacity one for $5.

Lots of product at this Dollar Store, maybe too much. Aisles are overfilled and disorganized. Store feels dark and the chime on the door is very annoying since it is going off constantly. If you can find what you are looking for, there are some good deals available.

Over priced for the quality of goods and service. I was there today and a older woman at the till was very rude. She would not let me or my partner see the amount we purchased on the debit machine and grabbed my partners bank card out of his hand and tapped it on the machine herself. When I called her on it and said that it was done incorrectly, she said the owner of the store trains how to use the machine in a very snotty tone. I have never ever seen a store clerk take your card out of your hand and tap it without showing you the amount you are paying for! And when asking why it is done this way, She was Extremely rude, I will be calling the owner tomrorow and making a complaint and will not be shopping here again without a formal apology from the owner and grouchy old woman at the till.

Great store and would visit more often but the constant ringing of the door chime annoys me. I feel sorry for the workers that have to listen to that all day. I could never put up with that.

Love the dollar store. However, their craft section has gone downhill tremendously over the last six months. They need to bring in more sticker variety, more buttons and more, much more paper crafting embellishments etc. Now that Walmart has reduced their crafting section you would think that the dollar store would take advantage of not having the competition.
