The place is kind of small so there isn't a huge, grocery store level of, selection. But the produce is fresh.... The bakery is 2nd to none... And there are almost always samples of something tasty out somewhere. Be warned. They put wonderful butter tarts by the cash registers as impulse buy items. Irresistible!

Good place for fresh vegetables and organic products. Fresh and nice bread. Premium olive oils, pastas, sunfarm honey(which is made locally near Leamington is available here). Salads bar is little not upto the mark. One can find good sauces here. Meat is well cleaned and packed. Friendly service by the staff. Garden area is not visible and kind of hidden at the back of the store. Moreover good place for fresh condiments, fruits and vegetables.

Purchased 38 dollars in fruits and vegetables. Everything I opened or cut into was bad..whole bag of black moulded potatoes, pineapples that were brown inside..red and yellow peppers..all black on the inside...nectarines and peaches were brown on the inside. Even oranges..everything I puchased was bad except for 6 purple plums. .do not know where you get your products but something is seriously wron. ..third time this year at your establishment and similar experience each time. I will no longer waste my money..obvious it is an ongoing issue..very sad.

UPDATE: 1/30/18 I'm changing my review to a 3/5 because of an experience I had with some meat I had purchased, put in the fridge for one day and the in the freezer for 7 days. When I went to get it out of my freezer it was green and smelled horrible! I called Fred's with high hopes as this has been one of my favorite places to shop in the city and they told me they could not replace the meat due to the amount of time I waited to call back. I was also told they had no proof to prove that I didn't let the meat spoil carelessly. This is very disappointing and a waste of my time and money. From now on I will shop at Remarks and Superstore. I'm giving five stars because its one of the only places like it in Windsor and its a local family buisness. The staff are somewhat helpful. The selection is decent. I enjoy their ready made dinners!

They did a fantastic job! I just wanted a nice fruit basket for friend I'd met in the hospital who's going to be there a very long time she follows a vegan diet which is a bit difficult to get in the hospital but she loves her fruit. Tina at Fred's Market did a wonderful job. I gave her a price limit and I told her that she loves green bananas and figs.. the basket was Simply Amazing. Thank you so much, Tina.

was visiting from Toronto and I expected high prices but was pleasantly surprised especially with the variety and quality of the produce/meats/cheeses. The day I was there, they had beautiful Azalea trees selling for just $20 - normally see them costing at least 40-50. The meats and cheeses are top notch - I am glad I have a daughter living in Windsor - it'll give me a chance to go back ! PS - I seriously question Laurie McNeil's 1 star rating - she is either a competitor or confusing this place with another !

Freds's farm Fresh is located off Huron Church road in West Windsor. This upscale grocer offer fresh produce, meats and salads and an outdoor plant area. The products are fresh and the staff is friendly for the most part. If you want to shop here expect to pay extra for your groceries. I find their prices a bit too high most times. $12.00 pumpkins? You just have to pick and choose your items and price match. It is a refreshing shopping experience from your average grocery store in Windsor. I do enjoy the summer shopping here and the pre-grown garden herbs and veggies they offer for planting. They have fresh pies. If you want high quality this as they place to go on the west side.

Great customer service and the quality of the produce can't be matched. There is a Frescho and Food Basics nearby but this is my go to place for groceries. Leamington Fresh Strawberries are a must try. I'm glad I discovered this place. Close, convenient and best value for the money.

Meat and produce is a bit pricey but definitely fresh. Bought cooked ribs and a cherry pie, they were awful. Ribs were mostly bone and bristle (cheap cut) and dry. Pie was dry and crusty. A bit overpriced as well. We ended throwing about a 1/3 of each out. No one wanted them. I won't go back there for food. Just plants.

I like Freds, bit expensive but good products. I was there buying plants a week ago and one of their staff had their mask below their nose and was walking amongst the customers. Either stay away from the public in an office somewhere or wear your mask properly! Use some common sense!

Grabbed a bag of apples. Was anxious to have one when home. They were terrible. Spongey and tasted old. Strawberries as well. Put them in the fridge and was having them for breakfast. Or so I thought. More tan 1/4 of them were mouldy and the ones that weren't mouldy were squishy and rotten inside. If they are bad. Don't sell them. Rest of purchase was okay. Staff was anxious to leave but that's understandable. Generally i inspect what I am buying but felt uncomfortable.

I went to this store for the first time yesterday and was absolutely appalled at the state of it. The produce was mouldy, the fridges were not cold, food in the bakery section was unsealed, and staff (including the owner himself Fred) were all wearing masks incorrectly. I felt completely uncomfortable in the space however ended up buying meat from the butcher because it seemed like a safe bet... WRONG the meat is either out of date or was poorly stored because it tastes like absolute garbage. I would not advise anyone shop here especially not in a pandemic

We shop at Fred's quite often for various items, including the salad bar (which is currently closed). But I was extremely disappointed with their meat department recently. I bought what I thought were tenderloins. It was marked as such in the counter and the price was reflected in it. They turned out to not be tenderloin but be mini roasts, including the twine. I will continue to shop there for convenience but will never purchase anything from the meat counter again.

Great place to shop for fresh produce. Breath of fresh air compared to your usual run of the mill big box store. Been shopping here for many years while I am in Windsor for business and staying in at near by hotels. This time I needed a quick charge for my electric vehicle and manager was kind and gracious to get a vehicle moved quickly for us. Saved the day as we had little charge left and our hotel charger was broken!

DO NOT SHOP HERE IF YOU ARE BLACK. On April 16th, 2021, they followed my friends and I around the store and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. The cashier tried to fight me at the register because she claimed that I had stolen from the store. Just because I'm Black and wear a hoodie, that doesn't mean that I am a thief!! In the greenhouse area, I receive kind, helpful service with a smile every time I go. Their plants are well cared for. They have the best selection around for plants etc. I've even had help with my gardening questions from them. They are definitely my go-to for anything garden or plant related.

Thank you Fred’s for being the best grocery store in Windsor. I was not a panic buyer and was having a hard time finding regular every day items. I didn’t visit your store before cause I thought it would be more expensive. First off it really wasn’t!!! Prices averaged out. Also after going to over 10 places in the last week to buy a little bit of meat I experienced some really bad shopping experiences. Everyone in your store was so nice. You had everything I needed and the quality of the meat, fruit and veggies I got was 10x better than I’ve had in a long time. Like you even had toilet paper. I’ll be honest even after the craziness slows down and stores are all stocked. I will go out of My way to shop at your store.

If I could give zero I would. Picked up alfalfa sprouts to make wraps and come to find out the sprouts are 2 weeks expired so I wasted all of our food! Called the manager and offered me a refund for the sprouts..... Thanks!!!!!! I guess the $50 worth of food wanted was no biggie in there eyes.

Went in for some paczkis and they had fresh pre-packed boxes from both Blak's and Lakeside bakeries. The produce was fresh and my son picked out a beautiful bouquet of roses for valentine's day. On top of all that the customer service was top notch and I want to thank the staff member that wrapped our flowers and gave my son a bag of candy. Highly recommend this place.

Excellent produce, clean and well organized store and friendly staff. Freds really stocks a wide variety of seasonal fruit. Although their watermelons seem a bit high ($), they were delicious (2020). Their variety of plums are unmatched. This year in 2021, I was surprised at their mangoes from Columbia. They also have sushi, salad, soup and sandwich fridge for a quick carry-to-office lunch. They have a fresh meat and cheese deli but I eat only halal meat. So for everything else in their produce is a full 5 stars. Excellent Farm Fresh Grocery.
