Good location next to Vessels and certainly better stocked than the grocer at Strathcona Plaza on Panorama. Interesting selection of President's Choice and No Name mixed with more expensive brands. Aisles are a tad narrower than elsewhere. Fresh produce looks good. We saw toilet paper on sale, which is nice to witness during COVID-19 (Dec 2020). Hope they are able to make this location work as it looks to be an asset to the neighborhood.

This is my favorite grocery store in Victoria. Not too large, not too small. Great selection of fresh produce and promotions offered. The staff are helpful and friendly in ways that actually feel pretty genuine and suggest that perhaps this may be an enjoyable place to work.

Clean, good vegan options, store brand is mostly Loblaws stuff (no name, president choice) a great kombucha section. Owned by neighbouring vessel owners. Good deli and a little cafe you can grab desert or a sandwich.

Just pulled in for some bread, and came out with piles of groceries. I spend a lot of money on food cooking for a family of five. I'll use Costco for bulk but am always looking for a grocer to fill out the pantry. This is the place! It felt similar to a hybrid of Market on Yates and Root Cellar but priced significantly lower. I've walked the aisles of nearly every grocer in town, and this place checked off all the boxes.

This is an wonderful mid sized grocery store. They have a little deli. Great produce selection. All the milk alternatives. The only place in town that I have found that sells 18packs of free run eggs. Level ground coffee and an on site grinder. It's a nice to have a grocery store so close to home that is this well curated. If you were going to head on a quick picnic date I'd stop here because it has a good selection of specialty foods and regular things that one would need. I'm glad this place is here and I hope it stays for decades.

Great but if ppl tear off their masks in a glazed over zombie lemming routine it will become too difficult to manoeuvre around without people coughing splatters of covid everywhere and no right to say "please don't kill me or my family" that's rude.. killing other fine. Great store AWFUL planet and even worse people.

Pros: Cheerful staff, quick checkout, well organized and convenient. Nanaimo bars to die for. Cons: Prices seem a little higher than competitors for some identical brands/products and the selection is a somewhat limited, given that this is a smaller store. Overall, it's a decent addition to the neighbourhood and I imagine it will continue to improve over time.

This is a small local grocer right around the corner from vessel liquor and shoppers drug mart. They have a surprisingly good selection for the size of the store, the prices aren't bad, they carry presidents choice brand, and everything is 10% off on Sundays. I'm here almost daily grabbing a thing or two that I need. There is a very small selection of frozen and canned foods if that's what you're looking for; breads are a little sparse, but the meat dairy and produce are great. The deli isn't bad, and there's a good selection of cold drink and quick lunch options. All in all I love this place.

Their prices are actually pretty good... About equal to Save-on and sometimes the sales are better (especially on produce - holy mackerel they have a ton of great produce as well as many local island products.) I live in the wrong part of town but if I lives nearby it would be my go-to grocery store hands down.

Up until this 2021 snowstorm I had never been to this place. But today I couldn’t drive so I walked to the closest place that would have what I needed. I trudged through the snow until I came upon this Urban Grocer gem!! WOW! This place didn’t just have what I needed. It had EVERYTHING I needed!!! Top quality ingredients throughout the store. Much of it seemed local and amazing!! I’m happy to give this place 5 STARS and will be adding this grocery store to my regular haunts!

What a great store. From the minute my friend and I went through the door, we were greeted with smiles. The store is bright and clean. The staff are so eager to help. The fruit and vegetable area was amazing...so fresh. The deli was wonderful, so much to choose from. I expect to be there at least once a week. Well done Urban Grocer.

Love this new grocery store on Fort street! It is small but has a great selection of products and you can find some nice local products there. They have a lot of “local” stuff I have only been able to find in Vancouver like Yoggu vegan yogurt. I will say, when it’s gets busy it is a bit cramped but it’s worth it for the friendly staff and well stocked shelves.

Highly recommend Urban Grocer. First they have an automatic sensor that counts how many are in the store and if you may enter or not and secondly, you are supporting a local business.

Nice smaller neighbourhood "almost full" grocery store located next to a pharmacy and at a major transit stop (Oak Bay Junction). Long lines after 5p Fridays, usually no or minimal waits, generally, other times. Good selection of grocery items with prices sometimes slightly higher than big name competitors. Most basics are comparatively priced. The offer good selection of cheese (including non-dairy varieties). Offers to-go meal and beverages (coffee/tea) and outdoor seating. Offers self-check option. Staff are helpful. Nice shopping experience. Very good and clearly defined COVID-protocals in place. A valuable addition and option to the area.

Fantastic place. Some of the produce deals are unreal. 77 cent English cukes, 1.88 lbs asparagus. Cheaper than box stores. Everyone is always super friendly. Always stop on my way home. The sandwiches are killer too. The Oxford is my favorite. Keep up the good work.

Wonderful little community grocer. Perfect for the neighborhood! Despite the smaller size they have a great selection, good prices and fantastic staff! The store has good sized aisles, is accessible for stroller/wheelchair and is very clean and well organized. The staff have all been helpful with navigating the new shop, as well as very polite with greetings and thank you's for shopping.

This place has 2 things that set them apart. 1 - they have the ginger & wasabi SEPARATE from the sushi so it doesn’t infect half the food in the box like it does when you pack it together, like they do at most stores. So thank you for that! Also the deli has the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had.

Lovely selection! I love the variety they have. Lots of great local products, and lots of good brands. Prices are fair / competitive with other stores. Some of their items are amazing deals (even at regular price) and sale items are always a good deal. Most of the time I walk here, but when I have driven I've never had any problems finding parking in the area, even when it's busy. It’s really nice to have a store within walking distance. I absolutely love shopping here! Their produce is stellar here!!! It's my go to grocery store.

I was excited to check this place out since I’ve heard they have many vegan products and I heard good things about it. However, when I was just browsing the store an employee came up to me and asked if I was in a bad mood... even after I tried to joke around about it saying I must still be tired and stuff the employee continued to ask me two more times if I was cranky or upset. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! On top of the conversation with the employee it’s very overpriced, disappointing local business.

I just had a cashier throw my groceries at me because she was offended by the smell of my hand sanitizer. Told me to stand away from her while she processed my order covering her mouth and making a big dramatic show of it. My receipt says “Shannon” I’m not sure if that’s who it was, an older lady who I saw earlier in the week get in to some sort of an altercation with another gentleman. Will not be returning here

Upscale market with lots of choices. Very big for it's small size. Reasonable prices on most things, very competitive prices on staples, full deli, meat department (including organic beef and chicken), lots of good quality produce (including organic), etc. Full size market in a smaller footprint. They even have President's Choice White Cheddar mac and cheese (much better than KD)! Very helpful staff, too. Recommended.

Usually have great experiences here, tonight being the exception. Was served by what I can only describe as a cranky old lady who proceeded to go into my bag after I had packed it and started throwing the plastic wrapper for my produce away. I find it incredibly irresponsible to do something like this during a pandemic, not to mention the fact that she has zero right to do it. Would question shopping here again if she's still employed as it would show that management is okay with her actions.
