This is a great little bistro in a beautiful setting. I highly recommend the unique approach to traditional eggs benny. Sunday brunch is a great time to enjoy the view and the gardens.
Cozy setting with fresh, delicious soups and salads. Excellent choice for a light bite. Small place, so you may need to wait for a table.
We had their golden breakfast + sausage and it was amazing. Super balanced and fresh. A beautiful view of the garden from the patio. Lovely staff. Strongly recommend.
First visit here and I will be back. Amazing service, and wonderful food. I had the Golden Breakfast to eat and the Imperial Sunrise to drink they both tasted so fresh and yummy. I would highly recommend!
Service
Small menu but very nicely done. This is a lovely spot on a warm day to sit outdoors away from the noise of traffic. Check them out.
Not a great location, menu is small. It's saving grace are the friendly staff
Come here often. Cozy little place for Sunday coffee and enjoy the gardens.
Meal type
So delicious! Perfect place to reflect or chit chat with friends and family.
Delish
How else can you beat a tiny space on the outskirts of a garden area. Very well done.
Decent little place, definitely try it out.
Great spot for an intimate brunch when you fancy something a bit lighter/healthier (but still scrumptious!). They also have some interesting hot drinks going on - and I can attest that both the Dandelion Latte and Imperial Sunrise are lovely. Looking forward to trying the Pink Rose Latte next time :)
Different, in a good way. Wish they opened earlier
Great food!!
Healthy place to eat and enjoy the garden..
Beautiful setting, patio seating. The food was delicious and portions very generous.
Lovely clean, organic locally sourced food. Met a woman harvesting fresh herbs in their own garden. Careful and thoughtful presentation. Did I mention delicious? It was
Wonderful, unique & truly local.
Brunch
we have been to lunch three times, this is a total gem. Attentive informed servers, quality creative ingredients and menu items. Imagine sitting out in the country, overlooking beautifully tended gardens, enjoying a leisurely peaceful delicious meal.... GO The sweet potato benny was amazing!! Enjoy!
Delightful and cosy small cafe with great service and food, and homey atmosphere.
Incredible location, and the food is exquisite as well.
The food and service was amazing! Best Kale salad I’ve ever eaten! And the Pink rose latte was beautiful, elegant and delicious!
Quaint cafe with yummy gluten free meals!
incredible tasting, food and beverages, with beautiful gardens right next door, to go for a walk in, enjoy
Amazing food, great costumer service and beautiful place! ❤️
Such a quaint little brunch spot. The service was friendly to the point where we felt like regulars despite it being our first time there, and the ambience/atmosphere was very chill. Their drinks are super delicious and their food is equally tasty. Access to the Gardens is also only $6/pp with your meal receipt.
walked in and was hardly acknowledged. resturant was not full and had to wait a very long time for our food and drinks. bad customer service. Food was mediocre. will not be back.
Great food, friendly staff, sit on the patio for great nature views and atmosphere. Prices for breakfast are on the higher end (local ingredients, organic etc) and can be loud if you have to sit inside (winter), still worth it.
So good.....
Enjoyed a fantastic breakfast on a long weekend Monday. If the weather is nice absolutely sit out on the back deck and enjoy the garden like atmosphere while you eat. The menu is on the smaller side and changes frequently from what I gathered. My "pancakes" were very very good. They're not like any pancakes I've had before but no complaints from me. They were super tasty, gluten free, and paired well with the fresh fruit and fresh whipped cream. Both mine and my wife's choices were both beautifully presented with edible flowers.
Lovely experience, I thought that the menu was well thought out with a small but unique selection. I would really recommend this place.
Beautiful location and delicious sweet treats
so delicious, and a little slice of happiness. needs a bigger selection though. I had the eggs benedict with kale and cashew hollandaise. awesome, thanks.
This place is adorable. Located in the gardens of Quail, BC, it's a perfect place to stop while on a bike ride or if visiting. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and the views of the flowers and garden are very relaxing. A must visit if in the area.
What a neat place. Beautiful gardens outside and incredibly fresh food inside.
Such a wonderful little gem. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. A great place to sit and work, or bring friends for lunch.
Great food and very unique. But portions are a bit small.
Love this place.. but really sad that they have changed their hours and only open until 3pm. I used to go here and study upstairs when it was open until 5pm but can’t do that anymore. Also I’m very confused as to why they aren’t doing dinner anymore??? :/
The food was decent. Some items were overpriced. Nice small place in the HCP.
This is a quaint restaurant in a pretty setting. The menu changes regularly depending on the local resources. There are a number of gluten free and vegan options as well. My wife loved her pancakes
High quality artisan food that is beyond the usual fare served in a lovely rustic setting on the edge of the Gardens at HCP. Splendid!
Fresh, creative, and healthy! Delicious!!
Deli-shus
Wonderful little breakfast and lunch spot overlooking the Gardens at the HCP. Healthy, yummy, local, sustainable food. Save room for the apple cake!!!
Wonderful food. Great service. Gorgeous location
I cannot say enough good things about this place and their sister location Nourish in the Harbour. The concept, quality, service and atmosphere they've created at both places is truly inspiring. The food is fantastic and anytime I am in these parts I will return for the benny and the french toast (both gluten-free). It is, just as the name says, nourishing. Coffee is fantastic too. Highly recommend it!
Charming and cosy decor. Though the menu is quite small it's easy to make a good choice because all the food is delicious.
Small little restaurant at an agriculture centre in Saanich. The food here is amazing and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for somewhere different. Unfortunately, there were flies and a wasp inside the restaurant which made the experience a bit worse. They should install fly screen on the windows.
Great service. Excellent gluten free food
Perfect spot for brunch!
some of the best food I have ever had
Wonderful. Had tea and muffin and wonderful view of the gardens on a beautiful day!
Beautiful place, great day for a wedding I attended there. Best wedding buffet ever!
The servers were kind, and the view was great. But the kale salad had too much dressing. Soupy, almost. Maybe it just wasn’t for me, because a lot of other reviews seem favourable? I set aside the salad and ordered poached eggs and toast which were both decent. There were hits and misses, but for the price to quality ratio I won’t go back or recommend it to others.
Cute, quaint and delicious food
Excellent. Quiet, beautiful garden setting. High quality food and top notch service. Limited seating. Most memorable lunch in recent memory.
Alright folks, this place has a reputation that precedes itself. People drive from far away places, just to sit and eat here and than, walk the lovely grounds of which it is nestled within. I visited this place recently and concur, without a shadow of a doubt, it is indeed, a mini heaven.......
Cozy atmosphere and amazing food (great vegan options) ! I will definitely be coming back
A...may...zing. it only gets a 4 cause the menus were photocopied....use a cool blackboard and we are coming back! Flavours were excellent, place is quirky but good.
I love this place! Healthy food, beautiful view, nicely curated (but not overwhelming) menu, delicious drinks (hot/cold, alcoholic/non-alcoholic) and friendly and professional staff. Indoor and outdoor options for seating is a bonus.
We took my wife for her birthday. The restaurant was half empty and they told us to wait. After 20 minutes, they were preparing a table (we thought it was for us) then a person came out and told us that it was going to take around 45 minutes to get a table. At that moment, all of us were completely frustrated and told them that it was not professional what they were doing. They should have told us from the very beginning the time we needed to wait. What a lack of communication and respect. We left and probably never come back
Who would have thought to put harissa on eggs! Very imaginative and very delicious. Such a great time with lovely people.
Really lovely setting in the horticultural gardens. Limited food menu but what I had was delicious! Beet potato soup. Yum! Oat pancakes. Yum! Nice pleasant outing close to home.
Great breakfast with a very relaxing atmosphere
Very tasty and carefully prepared brunch options using local ingredients in a serene atmosphere set in a garden. If it is your first time, go with the sleeping beauty oatmeal pancakes with Red Barn bacon and the sunrise latte!
Food was quite bland. Egg dish was delivered uncooked, then returned overcooked. Seating was uncomfortable. Menu very limited.
Such a wonderful place to kick back and enjoy some nutritious food. Beautiful views of the garden and their matcha latte is no joke.
I love this place the food is great. Also in the spring and summer it is lovely to sit outside and enjoy the garden.
Tasty!
I love this place. Good food good drink and beautiful view
This is my go-to place for a quiet breakfast or coffee in the amazing horticultural centre. Great food and the servers are warm and friendly
Lovely ambience .ok food
My favorite go-to restaurant in Victoria for healthy vegan and gluten free options!
Nice hideaway spot, good food. Limited menu though, so not good for kids really.
My favourite restaurant on earth. Go here once before you die.
This has got to be one of the coolest places I have been in a while! The coffee was delicious, the staff are so friendly and welcoming (but also super good at giving you space and not hovering) and THE FOOD IS AMAZING! Incredibly nourishing and thoughtfully presented. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this spot sooner, I swear I have dreams of their seedy bread. I will be coming back again and again.
We love this little gem and we're super excited to go back. The food is all prepared with such love, in a wonderful high vibration, it's alive, local, organic and tastes truly delicious. Plus Michelle was a blast. What a great waitress with a super professional, friendly manner - thank you. And visiting the gardens afterwards made the whole day very special. We'll be back very soon.
I love this restaurant. It's tucked away in a beautiful garden setting and the food quality is excellent. If you're looking for quality ingredients and healthy clean food Charlotte and the Quail or their sister restaurant Nourish are two are awesome spots. I would absolutely recommend them both!
A spiritual extension of Nourish, Charlotte and the Quail has a tight looking menu, charming atmosphere, and friendly staff. I stopped in for a moment and had a wonderful time. If ever I am around that area, I will be back!
My Oasis!
Fast and accurate.
The setting was beautiful and the food was delicious, very reasonably priced.
Delicious food and fresh ingredients! Always a delight ????
Beautiful surroundings, good coffee and a tasty selection of desserts was the perfect end to our visit to the gardens.
The food was beautifully plated and tasted absolutely wonderful - worth the wait!! Outside seating was comfortable and relaxing. Staff are friendly and courteous. We'll definitely be back!
Awesome place to work out of. Beautiful place.
The rosemary in the water was weird and made the water brown. The sour cherry spritzer taste off. The food was okay. Seemed like they were trying too hard. But the gardens are beautiful.
Lovely quaint atmosphere. Food always consistently surprises. Great destination for a small group bike ride from downtown. Good service, not rushed, relaxed.
Lovely little spot in rural Victoria, alongside a picturesque garden. Great coffee, tea & drink menu with a few snacks, meals & treats to choose from. I will definitely visit again.
Best food ever and super friendly staff! And the location is amazing.
Beautiful setting, delicious meal! A gorgeous place to go on a Sunday morning, then a stroll in the gardens.

Beautiful food and surroundings, very pleasant service.
Easily one of the best patios in greater Victoria. It's quiet and peaceful here with a unique garden ambiance located right at Glendale Gardens (which is like a rustic Butchart Gardens if you haven't been before). The food is all local and healthy and a nice change from all the deep fried places in Victoria. Also I love the local cat, Charlotte, and all the hummingbirds that come around the patio - they really complete the atmosphere of this place :)
Food was alright, but left me wanting. Really nice place to sit, especially if you're outside in the garden area. Too expensive for what it is.
Expensive and bland food. Poor service
Beautiful setting, amazing staff, and of course the food is absolutely incredible.
Tasty healthy meals.
Delicious food made with fresh ingredients in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.
Lovely spot for food. Patio overlooks the botanical garden. Service was excellent, food allergies were treated well. Food was amazing. It is definitely worth going there.
A natural lovely spot to grab something nutritious and satisfying with someone special. They have interesting drinks like dandelion tea and tumeric chai and daily baked goods to enjoy. We tried the veggie soup of the day with toast. Staff were helpful, pleasant and made our little guy feel included and special with his own little duck cup of moms drink. I've been a few times over the years and it doesn't disappoint. I'd like to try their best hummus toast with eggs and beautiful greens next time!
Very delicious food, had my inner foodie jumping for joy. Nested right at the edge of the gardens at HCP, it's a delight to sit outside and feel the breeeze while you eat your eggs benedict in the sun
This is a small restaurant/cafe surrounded by gorgeous, robust gardens, tucked away in the serene island landscape. The atmosphere was so gorgeous, elegant, and relaxing. The food was so flavourful, organic, and wholesome. I chose to build my own breakfast by ordering two poached eggs, a sausage, gluten-free toast, and a cup of soup. Although it sounds simple, every element of the breakfast was beautifully served (with edible flowers to boot) and absolutely delicious in it's own right. Amazingly flavourful sausage. I also tried the "matchalicious" drink, with almond milk and dried cranberry flakes on top. It was full of matcha flavour and had the perfect amount of sweetness, contrary to many of the matcha drinks I've tried--which are usually packed with sugar. My meal here was beautiful both in presentation, atmosphere, and flavours. The server was attentive and sweet. Would 100% recommend for a daytime brunch, if not only just to eat in such a beautiful setting.
Food choices limited
Wonderful indoor and patio seating, well appointed with various peaceful vantage points. Healthy GF and DF meals and snacks, alternate mylks even in properly made lattes. Hidden gem of the city.
Lovely place, excellent food nice service!
Great wholesome food and a cozy atmosphere!
Wonderful little hidden gem, with quality food and friendly service. Reasonable cost for locally sourced ingredients. Always a wonderful lunch! Open Wednesday to Sunday's.
Hidden away you'll find this beauty. Simple creations packed with fresh flavour and bold colours. Worth the trip either by car or if you're adventurous like me, also by bike! -Tom
Amazing food, service and environment. Can’t wait to come back!
Tummy local healthy food
The menu had barely anything to choose from and what I did order wasn't very good.
Amazing food and service, beautiful setting!
Interesting menu. Great place in the Summer with the patio open to the garden. But sometimes lots of wasps
Beautiful setting, vegetarian menu, clean, no fuss, great service. Discount if eating here and then viewing garden's.
This place is LEGIT
My favourite brunch spot in all of Victoria! Not only for the delicious food, but also the amazing service we always get! I have a heat regulatory issue and today they opened the patio early just for me, even though it was all frosted over. Our server (forgive me as I am terrible at remembering names) always makes our brunch perfect! She is the BEST, hands down, in the city! Thanks again for an amazing brunch!
Really nice place to have a healthy breakfast with great service.
Dine in
Good ice cream, coffee, service, and atmosphere. Glad to be a member! Our family loves it.
Easily one of the best cafes in Victoria. Food is always so delicious and fresh and coffee is great.
Great little place. Food was excellent!
Cute little cafe with tasty food and good coffee!
Delicious food and friendly service.
Basically nourish but in a lovely garden.. wish they could include entrance to the garden with a meal..
I like their innovative food but it was a hot summer day and they had no ice!!
Nice little spot, a bit on the granola side of things but a very nice location with good food and reasonable prices.
Food is unique and delicious. An off the beaten path restaurant that is worth the effort. Service was a little off, but they appeared short staffed. Will definitely try again.
A lovely and quaint space to meet for a beverage or meal and located right next to the HCP Gardens that are well worth a stroll. Plant-based and vegan friendly options. Menu is crafted with integrity and sustainability with ingredients sourced locally.
It took them 20mins+ to scoop one ice cream and a ice coffee. It's not even busy. Useless. I have enough time to drive anywhere else for those two items.
A favorite place for a quiet meeting with great coffee and snacks.
Would love to see some hot boozy drinks on the menu!
Smaller menu but food is unique and high quality. Highly recommended!
Amazing flavours in the Buddha bowl. Went yesterday for lunch and am already craving to go again and try out the dishes I saw served to others.
Good healthy seasonal food in a pleasant garden environment.
