Haven't had good experiences with meat here lately. Chicken is always slimy even after washing it. A sign it's likely going bad. Doesn't seem very fresh. Prices have also gone up. I'll still go there for some stuff but the meat just isnt the quality I expect.

Really cool store! Employees said hello to me and asked me about my cycling trip (i was in full gear). Cashier was super nice and talkative; even other customers were chatty and engaging! Amazing sausage deal and donuts. Only problem is their limited selection of crunchy peanut butter. The Soos don't like crunchy peanut butter? It's the best! Smooth is nothing!

Food great as always but security guard at the door let people in without masks and didn't ask them any questions. When this was pointed out he said it wasn't his job to do that. Ok, so why are you at the door during a pandemic when your local health unit has recently started requiring masks at all indoor locations? Never in my life saw a guard a Pinos before that day. I wont be back if local health regs aren't being followed.

In terms of fresh meat and produce you will not find a better grocery store than Pino's ANYWHERE. Last winter I was in Florida and went to different grocery stores to stock up on food since we were staying in a Condo. I was so disappointed in the selection and quality of the meat and seafood - especially the seafood being so close to the ocean. Let's just say that if you have any complaints about Pino's, go shop somewhere else first. It is true that some other products in the store are a bit pricey but it's hands down your go to destination for meat and seafood. Also they serve up great fresh ready to go pizza's at a great price!

There's only two places to get sausage in Sault Ste. Marie. They are both Italian and they both start with a P, paesan. Not only does Pino's carry great quality meats but they have a wonderful hot foods section for when we want a quick pizza, chicken and potatoes. They also have some of the best baking in town at the bakery. On top of all that the place always looks clean and the employees always look happy to be there for the most part.

We were travelling on my birthday and needed to find a birthday cake. Late evening, my son's and a friend of their's surprised me with a cake. Our hotel was not able to provide us with plates or even forks, so we put the cake in a fridge for the night. The next day the cake went into our car for the 8 hour trip to Thunder Bay. Pino's is a higher scale grocery store. This is evident as soon as you walk through the door. The quality of food and presentation is second to none. Pino's is most famous for the meat department where you'll find everything you need including their famous pork sausages made fresh every day. The bakery department is also second to none. The doughnuts are made fresh everyday and are the best in town. There's also a large variety of Italian baked goods. None of which will disappoint. The hot foods counter is always busy as is the pizza counter. The pizzas are very well made and also to order. You can also enjoy your shopping experience with a cup of coffee from the only Starbucks in town right inside the store. Beer and wine is also available. The staff at Pino's is always very friendly and always appear very happy and happy to help you.

My wife and I went to pick up a few things we needed. Our usual type shopping. I searched for an item I needed but couldn't find it. I turned down an isle, saw a staffer I knew and before I could get out my question, he verbally started to attack my wife and I because we were shopping together. I was floored as he wouldnt even let me talk. Yet.. every other couple shopping never endured what I did. He kept angrily telling me I shouldn't be shopping with my wife. One should shop not both. I finally said I dont care, I'm shopping with her. He then mumbled something I couldnt make out and told me to f off. I told him how bout I put everything I have in my cart back? He got up and walked away. I will NEVER shop there again.

We stopped in hear on a road trip. A great grocery store with an amazing variety, especially of fresh food. We decided to make it our lunch spot. Lunch was good, but really, the dessert took the show. We ate the most FANTASTIC donuts. Really... it is worth the stop just for the donuts. I can't stress that enough. I would take a detour again any day to have those donuts.

I wish I could give it ten stars. Great meats, great fruits and vegetables, fresh fish, frozen foods , name brands ,great house brands. As a grocery store Pinos has it all. But there's lots more. Pinos has a full deli with hot items to go. Try the meatballs in sauce. The chicken is fantastic. Another station makes fruit plates salads and sandwiches to go. Counters full of seemingly hundreds of varieties of cheese. I love this place.

What a nightmare. A grocery store owned by a butcher and operated by surly managers who will harass and belittle you. It is not clear to the author if the owner is aware of this behaviour but ostensibly it is condoned as the owner has a reputation for heavy handedness. An oafish security guard hovers near the entrance. You can tell who the managers are because they walk around in white lab coats, implying they are educated instead of idiots. The "Starbucks" isn't a genuine Starbucks - it's a makeshift counter cobbled together in the middle of the entrance and controlled by the grocery store's angry staff. The baristas are untrained and obtuse and service is hostile. This is definitely not the Starbucks experience and violates every normal standard - there is obviously no accountability and should have its licence revoked.

This is what we received today, around 4:30 pick up. This is 7 pieces of chicken from their take out. I don't even want to give it any stars because it was totally disappointing. We ordered the 9 piece but 2 (also small) were taken out to be eaten. The thigh was not much bigger than an oreo cookie.

The owner is a piece of trash who sells rotten food because he's too stingy to throw it out when he can make a sale off of it. Also, he employs basically none of his employees as full-time, because why shell out for benefits, am I right? Oh, and remember when he engaged in price-gouging with toilet paper at the beginning of the pandemic? Having moved to the Sault this September, specifically 365 Lake - right between Pino's and Metro, I must say, it does appear Pino's is coming out on top. In general, my experience has been that you can find all the same products at both stores, but Pino's seems to do better on cost. As well, they have the only Starbucks in the Sault inside (which is nice), and their store made spicy burgers are fantastic. The one area where Pino's loses out to Metro is that it is not 24/7, which is very convenient. For this, I will drop a star, but don't be fooled: this place is top notch.

I would like to convey how disappointed I was to find that the store was not providing sanitary hand wipes at the entrance to the store. In other stores I use these hand wipes to wipe down the handle on the grocery cart to minimize contact with viruses. In the face of a worldwide pandemic don't you think it would be wise to offer this convenience to your customers to help insure their safety?

Former employee here: Mr. Pino used to take expired packaged deli meat and give it to us to ‘sell’ with the new cuts after removing the green parts. If you ever see a ‘sale’ in the deli – don’t buy it. It’s likely expired. As for any store vacuum packed cheese, we would simply remove the stickers once it had reached the expiry date and put a new label on it. If we found mold, we were instructed to cut it off and re-vacuum pack it. One time he showed up with an expired box of chicken from the meat room, told us to bread it and serve it in the hot case. It smelled so bad I nearly gagged and threw it out once he had left because it was going to make someone sick. Mr. Pino also used to walk by and throw out any of our coffee drinks (not reimbursing us) that weren’t purchased at the in-store Starbucks, because according to him “we are a Starbucks store!”
