I love the lawson heights Safeway. They were quick to add in COVID-19 safety measures and have been diligent to add more as time goes on. The arrows on the floor are very clear and easy to follow. The produce here is always fresh and well displayed. They have a wide selection too. The bakery is great and everything else feels well organized. The shelves are well stocked and the staff are usually pleasant and friendly.

My wife and I just love the new Safeway store at The Mall at Lawson Heights! It is a nice bright store with an updated design compared to the former location in the mall. We especially like the cafe area right at the front with all the big windows. It is a great spot to enjoy a Starbucks coffee or a lunch form the many offerings Safeway has to offer at their food bar.

Shopping early on Sunday Mornings is great - - very slow in this store - - we get to beat the crowds. Always friendly helpful staff. HOWEVER - - I am disappointed to see all the "Self Serve" stations. Safeway ( and other major retailers) have forgotten that Seniors (and many others) don't like this type of treatment - - and it is intimidating for many to say the least. I am a 79 year old, worked for Safeway back at store openings in the late 50's and early 60's when the world was much different. I am very computer literate and astute at modern technology not intimidated in the least by self check outs. I just see it as erosion of employment for the corporate GREED. I don't and WON'T do self check out - - why should I given the extraordinary price of groceries ? When there are no more cashiers in your stores - -guaranteed I'll not be a customer any more!

This Safeway is pretty good. It's a go-to location for grocery shopping. They've got a nice health food section with a lot of options to choose from; From baking with almond flour to cauliflower crust pizzas! They don't have everything of course, but that's expected for a grocery store as they cater to their brand specific items. They have a lot of cheese. Their deli department makes pretty good sandwiches and its a quick fix for when you forget to bring a lunch. Its hit and miss though with some employees being more nitpicky than others, so choose the time you go wisely. Mornings tend to be better than later in the day. The produce section has a lot of options for fruits and veggies. Look out for the local produce guy, he's a treat; makes lovely conversations and puts the customers first! Wouldn't want to shop anywhere else for my groceries. The produce guy makes it worthwhile.

Awesome deli hot food, lovely ambience to sit and enjoy coffee or food before or after shopping. Fresh produce is always in stock with exclusive natural food section . The bulk section is so well maintained that it is always easy to find, weigh, grab and go! I love the fresh seafood collection of the store ! Finally before leaving I always feel tempted to buy a stick of rose or a new pot of lovely green plant for my home. Overall it is a place to enjoy for me while I shop ! Keep it up !

Haven't had bas customer service like this in a long time! I was looking for cheese in the deli when a lady who worked in that department marched up to my partner and I and accused us of spreading covid all over the deli. My partner took his mask down to drink his coffee and she said "you need to have a mask on in this store and I saw you touching your nose then touched all the cheese" then stormed off. We picked up the cheese that we bought and touched nothing else. My partner also didn't touch his nose, he simply pulled down his mask to drink his Starbucks. She was obviously having a bad day. The cheese was great though!

I'm not sure why the web reviews of the redesigned Safeway don't reflect the other current comments on Google Reviews, but Lawson Heights Safeway is simply the highest quality grocery store currently in Saskatoon (A.D. 2020). No coincidence or financial interest in the name 'Lawson,' in this instance.

There has been twice i was very upset about how I was treated buy a employee and I needed a manager. I apologize if I spell the name wrong. Vas, was there and helped me both times. He was very caring and considerate despite how up I was I left the store both times feeling really good. I understand people sometimes have bad days but it was really nice to have Vas, there to help me. I have not had a problem since then. Thank you Vas.

This Safeway Location has hard working & Friendly staff. The staff have commonly helped me find products I am looking for & helped me with issues that have occurred. The interior is clean & welcoming. I always feel safe & like a valued customer when shopping in this location. The design of the store & layout of the products are well thought out. There are commonly excellent deals on the products that I frequently purchase (Energy Drinks & Ice Cream, among others). The large cans of Brisk are 88 cents at the moment. The Blackberry & Peach Flavors are delicious. The price is wonderful for the amount of product that one receives. This is the best grocery store in the Lawson area & my top choice for grocery shopping in Saskatoon

Safeway at Lawson Heights mall moved out of its old location into this new one. It's much, much bigger, beautifully (and artfully) designed, easy to navigate and prices seem better than we've been getting at other places. A great grocery experience!

One of the cashiers was very rude. She was on till 1 and she is a shorter older lady with white hair. She practically gave me an evil eye and said she needs to clean the till (rude sounding) But was so nice to the non-aboriginal person ahead of me. Decided to take the self checkouts after that.

Great selection. Just don't go before 5pm on a week day as this seems to be the hip place for all the elderly in Saskatoon to congregate to. This store offers a good variety of products. The store is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The produce is always great. I prefer to shop at Costco or coop for my meat but will purchase meat there in a pinch. Last night I bough lamb kebabs and they were delicious.

Lettuce and radishes in poor condition. They have a huge store but continue to put useless displays at the end of every aisle making it difficult to maneuver around. Plastic bags are difficult to open. And it is expensive. Friendly staff though.

The salad bar was so good when the new location opened but now all the veggies look like they've been sitting there for days. The lettuce is in huge leaves that you need to cut up after and there are never containers. When asked if they had some they said they weren't sure if they had any then went on with their work without trying to find out if they did. The staff in the sandwich/hot food bar always seem so grumpy so I don't even bother asking for help any more and completely stopped buying anything from there anymore. So disappointing when I was so excited to have a fresh salad bar close to where I work!!

The new deli area looked amazing for the grand opening but then after a week of being open the salad bar area looks awful 90 percent of the time. The lettuce is always wilted and half the time it's barely cut up. Lately there isnt containers to put the food in. And on top of it the majority of the deli staff are miserable. It's seems thing haven't changed much in comparison with the old one it's just a nicer building.

This is a pretty clean store and has everything your looking for. I mainly use the deli. There isn't a dedicated person to work the deli desk. The person(s) at the deli desk is usually grumpy. It's often you look behind the counter and one persons working. They don't work as a team or help with the till. I have talked to other people that have had similar experiences. The food they makes good or else I would go else where.

Worst customer service at this store. Was here on May 7th. Saw nestle 24pk water for $1.97 online whereas the flyer at the store didn’t have that page. When I raised that issue with the customer service the acting manager Cody argued with me that Safeway.ca is not their website and it’s a bogus and asked me to check sobeys.ca as they were bought by sobeys. I’ve never faced any employee from an organization argue that their company website is bogus to avoid honouring their website. Worst experience and above all that they are trying to fool the customers.

Usually frequent Lawson Heights Safeway alot but tonight wasn't impressed at all . Bakery section and meat section was pretty much empty . The cashier had to ask us 3 times if we knew the price of some items because she couldn't find it . Plus had to bag our own groceries .
