The ease of accessing the parking lot and the store itself upon entering the city is a relief for this small town girl!

This place is terrible!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK!! I went to buy food for our work bbq. I was half done my list and the manager grabbed my cart aggressively and said next time you come in don't come so early I said excuse me the door was open he said we open the doors for our employees. How am I supposed to know. To me if a business door is open then they are open I looked at the clock and I was 5 minutes early. There's a right way of talking to people and there's a wrong way that was completely rude!!

The produce almost never lasts more than a couple days, and I think that Safeway has a better selection of a variety of items. As well, it tends to be pretty expensive. I just go here occasionally, because it's so close to my house.

This is ok grocery store. I prefer it more than the one located in the east side of the city because this one is a bit larger with larger inventory. Also I like the organization of the items, everything is on its place and clean. I like doing groceries here. There is also Mobil gas station nearby. I also like the long hours of operation because I am night shift worker.

Slightly higher prices and lower selection than Superstore, but when items are on sale they are generally very highly discounted. Nice clean new building. Have never seen an expired product on the shelf. The staff is generally friendly. They don't charge for bags. The best place to go for groceries if you're staying in the North end of town. Also the only place in town that I have seen brick Parmesan cheese other than Bulk Cheese Warehouse.

As an employee of a grocery store where I live I have a little different look at grocery stores when I shop at them... More of an Insider's look... I am always impressed with the selection that this grocery store has right from the produce to the deli to the meat department and everything in between it's all well-stocked and different products than their competitors. It also is a big plus that they have a wine store... this is my go to store and Sudbury and it will continue to be!

The best grocery store in Saskatoon’s North End. I have always found this location to be extremely clean, the produce is fresh, there is a kind and cheerful staff, and they have done a spectacular job of putting COVID-19 protocols in place. However to any and all shoppers going here with kids; do not bring them here before they’ve had breakfast!! What was meant to be a quick, 15 minute grocery trip turned into an hour and a half of “no, we can’t buy 5 boxes of Bear Paws” and “We don’t need 3 gallons of ice cream!” I guess that’s just a testament to how tasty everything looks to a hungry kid. (To be fair, we did end up leaving the store with many more packages of Bear Paws than I had intended)

Every time I go here to buy cakes for birthdays no one is ever in the back by the cakes! Beautiful looking cakes but I waited 15 minutes a few months ago for help and just now it was 5 minutes..which turned into 10 which turned into 20 minutes!! I should have given up way sooner. I went and grabbed a worker who didn’t even seem to want to help me ???? I ended up just leaving and going to Sobeys, Sobeys is wayyyy better! Save yourself the time and just go somewhere else ???? Update it’s 3:54pm still waiting Update 4:05 pm I’m leaving ???? Waited 20 minutes 2 workers came up to help both left to find someone else other staff just walked by and didn’t even ask, even though i was looking right at them to help. ???? The 2 workers who did talk to me didn’t come back! what a day i just need the birthday cake!

I like shopping at this store since it switched from Extra Foods to the new Independent Grocer format. It’s still a Loblaws Brand so all the PC products are available but it’s so open and clean! Everything is super well laid out and easy to find unlike so many grocery stores now. I can be in and out very quickly. They usually have enough clerks working so the lineups aren’t bad at all. The staff is very friendly. I would recommend this place!

This grocer is the standard for daily grocery needs. It has a wide variety of goods for a good every day low price. I personally wanted a birthday cake for a friend and an attendant walked me through their stock, helped me pick a cake, and modified a more affordable cakes decorations and put a message on it. Their motto "I promise you low prices" should be permanently removed. This is one of the highest grocery priced stores in the city. When they took over the Extra Foods space, the prices doubled. Now I shop at Walmart. I can never find a deal at Independent Grocers, even in their flyers that are overpriced.

I was looking for a particular beef item in the meat department. I asked to speak with someone and a man came out. I asked him my question and he just looked at me. He didn't understand me because of his poor understanding of the English language. He called a female over and she had an accent. I thought she understood me but she was quite rude and directed me to the fish bunks when I was asking for beef. I have since found I can buy what I was looking for at Safeway, so won't be back.

Great place to stock up on groceries and goods. I was pleased with how patient and kind and helpful the cashiers are, especially during this pandemic. Definitely recommend going there for all your grocery needs if you live close by to it. They were one of the great branches that kept up with the stock of meats, paper, and dairy products during the pandemic as well as the one hour before opening to let Seniors obtain what they need first. Social distancing is mandatory right now, so I placed an order on Friday to be picked up late Saturday. Around 4pm on Saturday, I got a call saying "Yeah, it's not gonna happen". It wasn't delayed, it wasn't rescheduled, I wasn't told when I could try again, I was just told that they were not going to fill my order so don't bother showing up. I know the store is busy. I know it's a crazy time. But don't offer the service if you can't actually provide it, and definitely don't PROMOTE it (they're offering free pickup right now). If you don't have enough staff, hire more. If people aren't applying, offer to pay them more. Very disappointing. I'll be remembering this for awhile. Fortunately, Saskatoon has plenty of other options for grocery stores.

So much stock! Great variety, friendly staff and huge free parking lot! Check flyers for deals and sales before shopping to optimize your dollar, they always have great deals! Had a terrible experience. Got followed around the store and stared at for 20 minutes while shopping for snacks with my partner and our two toddlers. When I asked the cashier if they had security/secret shoppers because they had made us feel very uncomfortable, we got laughed at repeatedly. Not recommending this place to anyone ever. Would give 0 stars if possible. Never felt welcomed as a shopper at all during my trip here.

Prices are much higher than the rest of Saskatoon. Just came through at 8 AM (completely non-peak hours). The entire store actively tried to look away from me instead of greeting. There were two women up front with no customers or registers open, just yakking with each other. I asked them if anyone was actually running a register and all they had to say was a sarcastic 'yes'. Left my groceries there. If you can't get a guy who lives right down the street to shop here, you shouldn't either.

Attempted to make an online order for pick up. I received a notification that my order would be ready at the designated time. Only to find out the payment did not go through. No notification there was an issue with the payment. Card used was a “the perfect gift” MasterCard, this store was on the website as one that accepts this type of card. I called into the store and talked to someone who was no help. She told me to come in with the card, I told her I’m a Paramedic that is on home isolation and coming into the store is not an option. With no help from customer service I had to cancel my order.

Have been using the PC online shopping option mostly since March - that has been very helpful and good service for the most part. However today I went into the store and was deeply disappointed to see no one on staff/patrons wearing masks, patrons were NOT following the arrows on the floor and staff were not following social distancing despite the overhead announcement to do so. Also had to look to find items to clean own cart. We will have to rethink where/how we shop. I worry about the well being of the staff...

I like stopping there. I like the way the store has a deli with fresh hot food and they always have 30%-50% off on multiple items. The people who are working as well as the security are very friendly and willing to help me find items that I'm looking for if I have trouble finding them. There is plenty of parking spaces as well.

Seafood is my favourite and twice they have sold me expired seafood. I bought shrimp that was cooked and packaged by them but when I went to eat it, it was bad and I was trying to eat it the very next day after I bought it. I gave them a second chance and bought a salmon (neither of these items were on sale or close to their best before date). Went to cook the salmon a couple days after it was bought but it had a terrible odor so that was garbage... in total $25 went to the garbage... dont buy seafood from here... other items may be better.... I could've returned and got my money back but I live 1hr out of town and didnt think it was worth a drive to return....

I used to love coming here for my groceries however, over the last few months every time I come here there are absolutely no carts available and no baskets. This makes it very difficult for anyone to get more than what they can carry in their hands. I am a younger person and can easy carry a few items around the store with me, but it wouldn't be as easy for elderly people or people who have mobile issues. Once I enter the store I always see many employees walking around with shopping carts for what I can only assume is for online orders. It would be nice to have carts available to the people coming into the store to shop as well. Lately when I get there and see no carts I immediately turn around and go elsewhere as I live out of town and often need more than what I can fit in my arms. I've also noticed that they used to have multiple tills open and now they only ever have one open at a time when I am there.

They need to stop putting the ready-made chickens away before close... I have often stopped to grab one for supper just before close and they're "put away"... So frustrating when they carry something but you can never get it... If I could get it earlier I would... I will usually quickly grab a few other things I need and I'm out before close... Not convenient if they do this! Will go elsewhere!

Independent is one of my main grocery centers. They do not seem to be limiting customers, but keep the premises sanitary and carts clean. They have arrows on the floor to direct for traffic within the store, and 6ft. Spacing at the tills. Keep up the good work!
