The lady at the counter clearly has an issue with anyone that can’t read her mind. Very obviously is a miserable woman. Please have a shot before you come to work so we don’t have to put up with your insufferable attitude.

What a great experience!

Macklins is always great!. Sometimes I will pick my own produce, I find it so peaceful out there and it is always half the price which is great when I'm making salsa. If I am in a hurry there is always a great selection of fresh that day produce and grown right here. I will always go there first before anywhere. It is a few extra minutes to drive out there but worth it.

Great place to get fresh produce

Awesome products, ok service

Quirky but good.

I always love going to farmers markets. One for farm to table. But mostly because I know the money is going straight to the farmers not a CEO or chain.

Batshit crazy old lady made us all feel uncomfortable so we left. Didn't seem kid friendly at all.

These people are the most ignorant people I have ever meet in my life. Talk about knowing your the only game in town. We were turned away and not given the right to pick berries because they have a rule that one adult to one child. My 12 year old is hardly a child. I have never seen such B.S in my life. They were rude. no class, cousin loving people I have ever seen.

Lots of produce freshly picked. The next best thing to growing it yourself.

Horrible old lady super mean and just so rude. Will never buy from this place again. If I could put 0 stars I would

We've just been there ealier and that old lady is very rude especially to children. Well at first they should say or put a sign at the raspberry area that no children are allowed! So we just assumed that children were allowed anywhere. But when we are about to pay she said "uh! So u guys went to the raspberry area? And we said Yes! And she raised her voice and said don't u know that there are no kids allowed on that area? And my husband said well nobody tell that to us if we know we shouldn't go there then! And she said now u know and when u come back u shouldn't go there with ur kids and my son just got scared! And my husband said there's no next time! We're not coming back with ur bad customer service and not children friendly environment! ????

They have the best asparagus ever

Owners a mean lady (got to keep it kid friendly) fun to pick berries there though!

Horrible place to go if you have kids. They will yell at them every 5 seconds. I can't believe places like this are still in business. Take another 10 minutes and go down the street to Zekvelds Garden Market instead which is 'kid friendly' and appreciates the business.

Excellant corn

The vegs are fresh. But don't bring children shopping here. They are not allowed to touch anything, even to pick up and bring to you. My daughter was yelled for doing just that.

Always in season fresh produce

Always very clean and top quality strawberries and beans

Fresh, local fruits & veggies! Yum!

Friendly; local

Well that was an interesting experience. We will never be going back. The owner/proprietor was rude, condescending and I had no choice, but to leave. Honestly, take a few lessons in customer service and when people are coming in and obviously don't know the RULES they just follow, you might want to throw a friendly pill down your throat and make it a positive experience.

Fresh local produce Great prices

Opening hours posted here don't represent the truth. Macklin's closes for the season, so we found out.

Apparently you can’t carry an infant with you if you want to pick strawberries. To be clear, an infant who was going to be carried (no stroller) and two adults. No other children. Unbelievable and rude. We wondered why the parking lot was empty when we pulled in but it became apparent quickly. Go to Zekfelds and have a good time.

most ignorant rude owner ive ever encountered...i hope your apples rot in the field - you'll never see my family (or my money) again

Lots of fresh veggies and fruits. Pick your own as well. I have gone there for 20 years.

I read reviews and gave it a shot anyways I was turned away after driving 45 minutes there because I didn't have another adult on a Tuesday to help with my 2 and 4 yr old. I explained my situation and assures they wouldn't leave but they told me to go else whete. What an absolutely ridiculous rule. No one else in the place. Not well run.

Yest, the old lady is very rude and unappreciative. It does not seam she wants anybody to come to get their products at all, and yes, she does not like children. She did not let our friend's, few years back, in with an 18 year old in and 14 because she was with two children, and one was only allowed in. WOW !

One of the worst customer service experience I have ever had. All of the young girls were very friendly but the ol'lady Macklin ( a women in her late 70's) was cranky and rude. I wanted to ask her what her problem was but I was with my father-in-law and I didn't want to cause a scene. And to top it off the raspberries were expensive $5/liter they are sour and not great. I wanted raspberries to eat fresh but because of the taste I can only use them for cooking. I will never go back here, sour berries and a sour taste in my mouth.

We have been going there for years. Love this family run business. The older lady and I have exchanged recipes several times. Love there fresh produce. She recently lost her husband and I'm happy to see they have reopened.

That “ old lady” has been there as long as I have been going there yes she is strict but with good reason I am quite sure she has worked every day of her life on that farm to get it in the shape that it is in. I have to respect that you don’t see that in younger people today. Why would she want to work hard her whole life to have it destroyed in a matter of a couple of days with children whose parents don’t know how to make them behave. Just saying.

Wish I read the reviews before I wasted our time. Old lady, as many said, is not friendly in the least. She asked how many were in my car. I explained I had a baby which I would be carrying and my wife with me. With no explanation, she abruptly said "no children" and backed away from the counter. This is a place I went with my grandparents as a small child so it's very sad that this is the way they treat families now. 100% will not return.

I am an adult and the old lady was rude to me. (I mention this because it seems like she is rude to children by default, but don't think everything is sunshine and roses for adults!) I went there to pick up a pumpkin. There were no signs saying you can't touch them, so I assumed I would get one and bring it inside to pay. (Walking, in plain sight, nothing nefarious) Just like one would do at say Superstore or ANY OTHER PLACE ON THE PLANET, well anyway, she came outside to yell at me and continued to berate for not coming inside and paying for the pumpkin first. Which how do I even do that? "I want that pumpkin 3/4 of the way back, to the left... the orange one." Ridiculous!

Great produce and fare prices

Terrible customer service and very rude. I had my 2 small children with me picking raspberries - one of the employees explained to me that children were not allowed in the raspberry patch - although I didn't understand the rule, I respected it and was leaving - as I was leaving with my children, the owner came up to me and yelled "get off my farm, no children allowed". I kept my cool and explained this is not the way to treat paying customers. couldn't believe I was spoken to this way - even in front of my children

Everything is great! Just picked beans for hot pickled beans and they're plentiful and easy picking. Good job Macklins!

Fresh produce right from the fields

Lacombe, if you "never seen such B.S. in your life" from that experience, you must live a simple, stress-free life. You can't get fresher produce anywhere in Sarnia, and also at low prices.

Beware of the old woman. She can chew you up if you're not careful????

The old lady that works there is very rude and apparently does not like her customers. Its not a child friendly environment as she will usually make snarky remarks about children and raise her voice or snap at them when they as much as go near a fruit basket or a freezer door. All of my friends have had the same experience, and their produce is not regularly clean / fresh with many of their raspberries and cucumbers old and withering. All together this is not a place i will be returning to or bringing my daughters to. Despicable behavior from the old ladies who work there.

I can see that their reviews are consistent. The old lady was extremely rude. She shouted at my five year old for opening the freezer. He was just curious of what was inside and opened it once to have a peep. There were no signs forbidding the opening of the freezer. Even the gentleman there was trying to say that kids are just curious .. but she was not having any of that. Also, she was irritable when we asked what one of the plants were and how it should be prepared. She had a bad attitude and kept tell us "how would I (she) know" Puts the whole concept of "shop local" to shame. Will never EVER go back again.

Mrs. Macklin is a very hard worker. She deserves a lot of credit. The fresh produce is very good. Thank you for your help when we go to your place. We usually pick strawberries but we are getting older now so we get them already picked. Anyone looking for a job they need pickers I think ????. Thank you very much. Happy summer to your family

Produce is good and cheap. Worth visiting. Old lady is a bit grouchy sometimes, but give her some credit. She is 85 and still giving to community.

Great prices

Honest hard working family run business. Some may not like their rules but they are there for a reason. Good prices for fresh produce. Been a customer for over 20 years

Great variety of fresh produce. It was so peaceful picking our own veggies. Their Covid precautions made us feel safe.
