This is a pretty good little grocery store. They have a rather small produce section, but the quality of the produce they have is amazing. They also have a wonderful section of baked treats. The staff have always been polite and helpful every time I have been here

Looking for bananas double the price of anywhere else? What about some freezer burnt French fries? Maybe you would like some almond milk that has gone bad? Would you like to take these items to kids who clearly hate their time there to have them scanned? It's extremely expensive! I could get 2 roasts at Wal-Mart for the price of 1 at foodland! The paper bags are so cheap, they have no handles thus when I'm walking home with a few bags of things (when i need things badly but don't have the money for the bus there and back!), i have an EXTREMELY hard time walking home with them. My advice: avoid foodland like the plague unless you like high prices and paper bags with no handles if you're walking home!

Disappointed that the majority of pricing is considerably higher in an area where 70-80% of surrounding residents are those on social assistance of various levels or suffering life's challenges all the while financially overstretched. However, it appears this local grocer is following the lead of the city's mission, to continually lessen the fundamental needs of its community. No matter the contributing individualistic life's influences.

Fantastic customer service. Staff are knowledgeable and ready to help. Always lots of cashiers available... never more than one person in front of you in line. Prices are very competitive. I always spend less at Foodland than the large chain store across town. Open 6am - 11pm. A must try!!

They have no bicycle rack, so you have to lock it to the 2nd exit, which is currently unused during the pandemic. No idea where to lock once the pandemic ends! And today, there was someone already locked there, so I had to squish mine in there too. Then I went inside, and they took my backpack away. Then I started to go in, and they yelled "Sir! Clean your hands!" because they care so much about the covid rules...except...then as I finished sterilizing my hands, 2 employees squeezed by me so close that they almost touched me...how is that 6 feet? Good thing I only go to this store when they have an AirMiles redemption bonus. Otherwise, I'd never go there. So expensive!

I am very happy we have a supermarket in the West end. I have found the staff always friendly, the meat and baked products are superior, the atmosphere is charming and nostalgic, but the thing I like most is that I can park, get in the store and make the bread, milk, checkout circuit w/o walking 3 miles to accomplish it.

It's been said that the prices here are a "tad" high, but when you're coming off of a, "open 24hrs." no win streak, these things have been known to, "chew up the profits"! The good news is that it is a, "small town family mart", and that it will never leave! I realize that it has to go "head to head" with the big boys, but not every senior or "shut in" can make it, uptown! I live over on the north side, but I would much rather shop at "Foodland" or "A&P" (in the afternoon) Mind you, I still can drive (with much difficulty, mind you), and for an extra $18, Foodland will deliver. I realize that is an exorbitant figure when one is on a fixed income, but we all need tweet! Foodland has very fresh fruit & vegetables, as is their meat. I particularly like their selection of foods, and their small bakery. When shopping online, I found that the more I knew about the pkg. size and brand of something, made it easier for the "picker" at the store.

Changing my review from 5 stars to 1 star due to the ignorance and utter rudeness of your employee. Was shopping today in the dairy section at about 12:30pm. Was yelled at in the entire crowded section to remove my backpack like I was some sort of thief. The amount of embarrassment this caused was way more than it had to be. If you wanted my backpack removed you could have gotten the security guard to remove it upon entry? Instead I get yelled at by some ignorant employee. He also then made a compliment to a customer, after the customer congratulated him on embarrassing me. Not sure if I was targeted because I am a minority but it was pretty intentional it feels like. I shop here probably once every three days. I will not be returning.

Apparently the security guard thinks it's ok the profile a shopper as they walk in. Then follow you around the store with the bottle of hand sanitizer and ask you in front of everyone if you did, when yountake some then ask if you even got some. Let alone the girl beside you touching every case of pop on the shelf. As I walked out without buying anything he was telling the manager about it. Like grow up
