Tom's Your Independent Grocers is a convenient store. It's not far away from a bus stop and the prices are reasonable. They have a bakery, a delicatessen counter and a pharmacy. There is disabled parking, bathrooms and friendly assistance. I recommend it!

I Like this place, their exlent food selection, the option to use the earned PC points, 1) I guess it's the time of day I go shopping and 2)the store wants to keep thier carts clean with the Covid and all but it annoys me that people can bring their carts out to thier cars to put in the cars but I can not keep my bought items in the cart while waiting for a ride or cab, I many a time have to surender my cart??? This is why I do not give full ratings.

Had to stand in line for fifteen minutes. But didn't seem to be that many people shopping. Didn't know why were asked to wait? But when we did get in the store several shelves empty. This being the fourth time I stopped by over the last 3 weeks looking for instance yeast still "none" though there was yeast extract? What the hell is yeast extract??? Lines at the tills were so long that people were leaving their grocery in their cart and just walked away. Also noticed several packages of raw meat left sitting on fruit. That people tired of standing.

Quality and selection diminished, lack of staff present to assist guests during peak times. I often find myself driving out of my way to Co-op, Safeway, Sobeys, Save-on, Superstore, or Walmart as we have a large family and even with a high-low business model, we require decent reasonable and competetive pricing on staple items. A good stop for a bag of apples when you hit Dollarama, or a quick restock in one stop parking lot, booze, mix, ice, gas, groceries, and head out of town.

They don't always have good stock of things that are basic. Chicken wings, coffee creamer, poutine gravy. I feel like I always have to go to another grocery store after I leave here but it's a good place to go for just a few things.

A great store opens quite early for the senior People and gives out great services to every customer Moreover during this Pandemic, they even got 2 guards standing right at the entrances which just allow a certain number of people to get in( just to maintain social distancing). The fruits are fresh and different types are available. Moreover the Cashiers communicates very well and the services offered by the staff inside are at its best. I would love to visit the place again for sure.

Perfect idea to double price all loblaw merchandise just because you don't have competition nearby... Sometimes rotten salad and bread like a rock, but if you come at the right time, veggies and bakery are very good, croissants are amazing. No lines and store looks clean, cashiers are friendly and a bit slow because they pack your stuff. I've changed my opinion, I rated Tom's as 2** star at first time, it's not that bad actually if you know it's pros and cons

I am a cripple with a walker so I don't move fast. I asked teller to wait until I was ready and she was good about it. However I went back to buy some more and went to the side counter. LORI pushed me through before I could even get prepared. Shame. Why must the elderly and crippled have to be pushed like cattle. If you have any understanding of what it is like then don't shop here. The prices are way too high as well. Just another "No Frills" fiasco! Cripples are people too.

Although the store is usually kept somewhat tidy and stocked, they always seem to fail to keep the washroom clean. There is literally fecal matter on the rolls of toilet paper that they leave on the railing, I'm not sure if they're just too lazy to load the dispenser or if they've lost the key to load the dispenser... The paper towel dispenser is never loaded, instead they opt out and put the roll on the counter to get wet and full of germs. I really hope they have a staff washroom in the back because... yikes.

Very convenient location for groceries on the go. Their prices are slightly higher than most stores, but offer a great variety of products including produce, bakery, to-go meals, canned items, baking items, meat products, mi products and frozen items. Staff seem friendly and knowledgeable and the checkout lines go fast. The parking lot is large, so there is lots of space to park. In spring and summer they have a garden centre in the parking lot.

Disappointed this afternoon. After entering the store and finding a impulse buy item to buy. Nobody could tell me the price as the wrong code was on the huge bin full of this product. Cashier tried paging different people but nobody came around. I then spotted something wiping carts down . I said “ is that a manger” . She could come over as she was not masked up but wiping carts down! She had no idea of the cost just stood there looking at me

Overall, I have been very impressed with Tom's. I once wanted a customized fruit tray made up. While several other grocery stores said they wouldn't do it without 24 hours notice, a young man at Tom's got one made up for us while we waited, going above & beyond! Their produce, prices & product selection are usually pretty decent. My only complaint is that when I called to ask if they carry Dairyland (Our regular brand) or Beatrice (disgusting) milk products, they told me Dairyland, So I went there for my groceries. I get to the last aisle, the dairy aisle, only to find that the majority of their milk is Beatrice and that only the organic milk & chocolate milk is Dairyland. So disappointed. Overall, despite that issue, I would still definitely recommend Tom's Independent.

This store is reliable for all the basic groceries at decent prices. You won't get a lot of super fancy stuff, but that's not its target market. Produce can be great or iffy, depending a lot on season (ie not entirely within the store's control) but they could stand to be a little more vigilant in monitoring and removing produce that's past its prime promptly, which is the only reason it's 4 not 5 stars. One of the best things about Tom's is the owner, who cares about his staff and has worked incredibly hard throughout the covid 19 experience to ensure that his staff and his customers are safe and have access to options like increasing capacity for online orders, working with suppliers on items in high demand, etc. He cares about his community and his staff and it shows.

I regularly shop at Tom's and have been very satisfied 99.9% of the time. The odd time has been when they are out of stock on a much needed item. Recently however, I went shopping to pickup some staples I've always been able to find here previously. Nothing in stock/no sign on shelves that they even carry it any longer. My trips will reduce even further if this continues.

Always disappointed that Tom's never has the same prices as superstore. I understand its privately owned but I still believe they should match each others prices especially on PC brand groceries. Instead Tom's is drastically overpriced. I also find they have the least amount of staff working during the busiest times in the store! The meat department is fantastic, the fresh produce area is good but often lacking in stock which is too bad as it used to be fantastic. I will not go near the deli the people who work the deli department have been extremely rude all the times I have gone there and their selection is minimal. The people working the tills are generally very friendly. I used to shop there all the time until I got tired of the lack of customer service at the deli department and the lack of stock in the produce.

I find it is a good place to find items that are hard to find in regular grocery stores and also has a nice selection of locally made products. Terrible experience! Dangerous! They sold me expired baby formula, which could potentially seriously harm my baby. Fortunately, I realized that after my son drank only a few bottles. After reporting to the store, the owners called and apologized and promised I would be refunded and compensated with 25,000 pc optimum points. It seemed low for such a severe mistake, yet I didn’t mind it. I accepted since I initially contacted the store to get a refund and make sure they take the expired baby food off the shelves. The fact that he apologized and took responsibility was enough for me. That all changed when I got to the store, and no one had any idea what I’m talking about, even though the owners said, “come anytime, my manager would take care of you.” They took my information once again and promised to call back and make this right, but to my great disappointment, they never did. Incredibly disrespectful. I'm still considering my next steps, but one thing is sure - I don’t recommend visiting this store as they are negligent and obviously don't mind customer care too much.

Independent in the normanview mall is a good place for me to shop because it is close. I will say though. It is a little too pricey for my liking as I usually shop at superstore. Sometimes though, they have some sales.on items that are great! The deli is amazing as well. All in all a good place to shop for certain items.

This is a good grocery store located in a mall that is well thought out/set up nicely. You can also get in and out quickly. The pricing is competitive and they have a well stocked pharmacy. You can call ahead to book a time to come in for a COVID-19 booster shot at this pharmacy. WARNING: They have allowed unmasked people to be in their store. I witnessed it on December 23rd. The individual was blatant about it and did not practice any social distancing or respect for others. A manager should have been notified and action taken.
