Gourmet grocery and foods, lots of ready to eat and heat and eat options. High quality stuff, in house butcher and bakery, and lots of specialty items and ingredients. The deli section has amazing stuff ready to go, including salads, meats, entrees, and sides.. everything ive tasted so far has been incredible. Prices are higher for sure, but so is the quality of items. Definitely not the every day grocery store for the average person, but if you want to make something special, this is the place to find it.

I decided to check out the grand opening today. I've seen the coming soon banner at the mall and have been very intrigued as their opening approached. The staff was very friendly and made me rethink my grocery buying experience. Personable staff like Stacie were happy to show me products that I couldn't find anywhere else in Red Deer. They were proud to have small business and family owned products on their shelves. I tried their Alfredo in the hot food section and it was delicious. I look forward to trying more from their menue. If there is something you are interested in or want to know more about how they are different, don't be afraid to ask a staff member. The manager Ravi was very happy to answer any questions I had and made me feel like I was already part of the Sunterra family. I can't wait till they start their cooking classes so I can learn some new things!

Christmas Eve I drove the half hour from home to pick up some Turkey and some all beef salami. The turkey was great. The two ladies behind the deli counter were hard to understand but one of them told me that they throw out the first slice of the discolored salami. When I opened the package as soon as I got home the entire batch was green around the edges and smelled way off. Impossible for the lady that sliced it not to realize what she was selling me. I'm extremely disappointed.

So excited to get my birthday food here! Ended up to be a nightmare! The worst organization ever went to get hot fresh food and walked out cold uncooked chicken, burned pizza, a family size Prosciutto Carbonara, that is supposed to be creamy pasta but ended up to be an uncooked pasta mixed with fried eggs. Gross! Just unacceptable! All went to the dump! I complained but got ignored! No manager/leadership on the floor?Please return my hard earned money back! Over staffed that are just standing and talking to each other and very impolite! No social distancing is being followed at all! Scary! Will not recommend and will not come back!

Loved this place at first but my feelings shift with each visit. Aisles are very narrow and overwhelming. This place is like a maze. I go when it's dead and can't imagine what it must be like with crowds. Produce section is amazing. That said, check dates and product before you buy. Also, watch prices. This place can be expensive. Other times there are decent prices as with the bottled teas. There are some great lactose free items but as others have pointed out, the selection of GF items are so-so. Not a lot of cheaper snack options either, which is frustrating. Everything is crammed together so you want to check ingredients beforehand. Haven't bothered with the hot meal area but the cold meals I purchased were good. Be aware of the prices on the bagged meals, however. Staff are friendly but last visit it bordered on overly friendly. A guy was with the cashier and he grabbed my bags and tried to take them outside for me. Had to explain that I don't drive. I want this place to do well and will be back but maybe not as a regular grocery destination. They are best for niche items or groceries in a pinch.

First time I went to Sunterra a couple of weeks ago. I was very pleased. It's something Red Deer needed. However, my second experience yesterday was so bad that I could hardly wait to get out of there. There are no staff implementing social distancing. The area where the pre-prepared meals are is small and was so cramped that a member of staff pushed past me, and hit me as she did so. The two other staff who were stacking more food, were not asking people to wait and were not even getting out of the way for customers. Unless they can manage the crowds better, and train the staff according to these scary times; then I won't be going back again. Unfortunately to add to the whole experience; the pre-cooked pasta meal I ended up buying had tiny chicken bones and grissle in it anyway.

When we purchase from your meat department, we have always been happy. Travis is always polite and helpful. I have a severe citrus allergy. Travis always checks the marinade recipes to make sure it is safe for me to consume. Your steaks, lamb chops, pork chops and chicken are always trimmed properly. Thank you for having butchers who know what they are doing.

Every time I come here to get a coffee I wait in line for 5 minutes to never get served or even greeted. I work in the mall so I’m here about 2-3 times a week. Honestly starting to get ridiculous that you guys don’t prioritize customer service. Won’t be back.

It's nice to have a big employer move in to Red Deer and draw more people to the mall. Good ready prep meals at a reasonable cost with lots of different choices and it's nice that they try to buy local as much as they can. Social distancing protocols could be followed a little better though! Put arrows on the floor, keep traffic moving in a general direction instead of the free for all that it is

We tried it out for the first time yesterday. It was a great experience. Great products and great prices. We bought a few premise meals and they were exceptional! We are excited to go back again. I quite like this market. They have a great selection of unique foods. It's a bit of drive for me to get here, but I come most everytime I am in Red Deer. In particular they carry a great selection of juices. My only complaint is I have to be careful to look at the expiration dates as I have purchased spoiled produce that was in a sealed packaged. I live too far away to return it so, I just piched it out, but now I make a special point to look very closely to confirm fresh. Otherwise, I love the selection and the friendly staff.

Road trippers! This is definitely worth a stop. Our family wasn’t in the mood for fast food so we grabbed pork and beef sausage rolls, a turkey provolone panini, clam chowder, fresh squeezed orange juice and a rice krispy square. Everything was delicious! The young blonde woman with tats at the ready made food counter was super friendly and helpful. People complain about the prices here but we only spent slightly more than we would have at the golden arches. Give it a chance, Red Deer! P.S. our 5.5 year olds loved the turkey provolone panini! That says A LOT.

This is an excellent location, with great produce, some of the best baking I have ever had, including the pumpernickel Rye bread. The staff are very customer service oriented, and very polite and they know how to work hard and provide customers with what they need in a market. Customization of food in this location is Excellent, and I find the quality to be a very high standard. I recommend this market to anyone, especially those who are in need of excellent produce.

I was very excited to see Sunterra come to Red Deer as I was a frequent customer in Calgary but was disappointed. I am now Gluten free and Vegan and they had very little options for me and my family. I do hope they add some options as they have a lot of meat and dairy products.

Not quite sure how to rate this place... decent selection of some interesting products for a small City like Red Deer. But your staff profiles customers, choosing to harass those who look grubby. My husband and I had just got done a days work on location with our company's crew and we got asked if we need help several times by different emloyees who watched us suspiciously. Just because we wear steel toes and dirty cardharts does not make us riffraff or thieves, folks lol Thanks. We'll probably just go to Sobeys next time.

I decided to check out the market today. My first thoughts were that the shelves looked neat & fully stocked. They had a very good selection of products, and was a well organized store. I was in search of a product and found a grocery clerk, his name tag read Brett I believe. He was very personable & knowledgeable, and was able to help me find what I was looking for efficiently. He was professional & his customer service was incredible. I will definitely be coming here again, due to this great experience!

They are interested in what I am cooking and how, and I always leave with some great tips on how to make my dishes even better. From the made-to-order breakfasts that are available all day long to the ready-made meals for supper, the selection of meats and specialty items…there aren’t enough superlatives. We have received service on such a personal level that I could literally weep. This place embodies a culture of happy and kind. I wish I could name everyone because they each deserve recognition. Aesthetically pleasing, welcoming and friendly staff without being intrusive, a wide variety of interesting products. The Orri oranges from Israel were excellent! Can't wait for the cooking classes to open up. The hot food ordering/pick-up/payment system was very confusing for a first-time user, and layout of the tills at the inner mall entrance made for a very crowded space - this may change once public health social distancing measures are lifted provincially, and the gate can be fully opened.

I was at the coffee bar on Wednesday and another lady was in front of me. we both waited for about 3 mins as Cami was on her phone texting and did not even look up to see if anyone was standing there. I was so angry with this behavior the fact that she felt it was more important to be on her phone than to look after her customers. Thankful Carla came around the corner and was eager and excited to help and took our orders. Cami brought me my coffee and I told her how ignorant it was to be on your phone texting while people are waiting. I was very upset and angry. Cami than came outside to where I was sitting enjoying my coffee and she said to me that it is my job to be on the phone. She upset me even more and i asked her to leave. Was in on Saturday to pick up my chicken from the free coupon we received. First off thank you for the coupon and 2nd make sure you have chickens to give out. There was none! went over to have a coffee and it was the worst ever....it tasted like someone just cleaned the pot and forgot to rinse it out. There was a lady there and her reply was extremely abrupt and she should not be working in customer service with that attitude...she wore a different colored shirt must have been the manager...to whomever it was the ignorance is not necessary ...tried again Sunday and got my chicken!

I was so excited to shop here as I have heard amazing things. First thing I notice stepping into the store is no sales associates around by the dry goods. I ask a baker lady for help, she rolls her eyes but finds me someone, because she "couldn't help me" I thought this was supposed to be about customer service? Then the girl, Kayla her name tage read, that comes to help me was extremely extremely rude and ignorant. I have never met such an unprofessional but entitled worker in a store. I left not buying anything but was excited and let down. I won't be back aslong as you employ these rude workers. Kayla, maybe get a chill pill.

We were very excited to get a Sunterra having moved from Calgary a few years ago. Sadly disappointed to find there are virtually no vegan and gluten free options for the meals ready to eat. Every pizza, pasta place I know has GF options. The menu appears to be from 1995.

I was very excited when Sunterra opened. I waited many times in line but I will never shop there again and I will definitely not recommend this market in the future. The staff and service is terrible. No knowledge. I spent so much money on cakes only to go home and take a bite out of a slice of cake and find a plastic piece in it. The latest time was the last. I bought 6 pico de gallo in one day and offered them to friends only to be told later that all the containers were expired and that was not the first time this happened, so check the best before dates. Lastly I called to advise management and was treated so horribly, disrespectful and again no concern no knowledge. I also left message to management and no one took the time to address my issue. So frustrated and disappointed. Never again!

Wish I lived here so I could go all the time, I am visiting from another province. Went today and had a delicious lunch- one of the flatbreads. I also bought a dessert. They have such a wide variety of fresh foods including a butcher. There is a fresh juice bar which I tried, very delicious. In the market section they have some neat products like bubble tea with pearls in a can YUM!

Very poor management overall. Right from the start very little effort was put into ensuring that team members received proper training, especially in the customer service department. A large portion of the management staff were in general very disorganized and employees were treated unfairly. Many of those in management seemed incompetent in taking on their roles and often refused to take any responsibility for the problems the store was encountering. Never experienced such a toxic work environment.

We went this morning to get breakfast and take a walk before our grocery shop. I got a sausage roll heated from the deli area and my partner ordered a breakfast sandwich from the cafe area then a latte and Americano from the coffee area - everything was DELICIOUS. Afterwards we had a lovely shopping experience, lots of people checking in to make sure we were finding everything and they are all SO friendly. Special kudos to Travis at the meat counter who ground up lamb FRESH on the spot for me when I couldn't find any, he was super helpful. Then Stephanie and Brooklyn at the checkout were wonderful. Brooklyn took such care bagging up my groceries (something I hugely appreciate) and then walked them out to our car. Despite not having a couple little things I would normally get on my weekly shops this is definitely my new go to grocery store!

We were very excited when this store opened. We would go for breakfast almost every Saturday and then go for a walk in the park. But I noticed that quality and freshness of some food we would buy there aren't good. I am tired to spend money for expired groceries. I already returned soup and a beg of coffee. Also some food that my husband bought were expired - tofu, sour cream. Or when you spend $45 on peace of bacon and expiration date in 4 days. Just frustrating. I called couple times and everything that they can say- please come back and return. What if I don't want to waste my time and always come back?! Always good customer service, but it isn't enough to keep people coming back.

Hi there...never really write reviews however i feel this is one that needs to be recognized in hopes it can be fixed. I frequent the coffee weekly and everyday i am greeted with a huge welcome from Carla. I mean she makes you feel like a million bucks. She makes you feel special. Appreciated and its all the time from her.....I came in on Sunday for my coffee and Olivia was so ignorant and rude and it made me feel so uncomfortable to even order...like i was a inconvenience to her ..She rang up my coffee and I really wanted to add to my order but felt i better just walk away and leave her be. Its a coffee place!! its suppose to be fun! I will just come when i see Carla there....

Just moved here from PEI. They have Cows butter...how cool is that! Just amazed at the quality of baking and culinary delights that are available there. And the little coffee shop is my new addiction! If you have not been there yet ..go see it...worth the trip!!

Rudest experience ever, felt rushed, felt like my time was not worth it and asked to sit at the furthest table because another family may want to occupy the bigger table whilst sat a previous 1 party customer at a 4 person table. Inconsiderate and disrespectful, staff> Chris

The Manager reached me out and replaced the chicken with freshly cooked one. I love it. Thanks Ravi *** I was so happy on my first purchased of food, however on my second visit, bough chicken breast but, its quite overcook and dry.

I just wanted to share with you my situation at the coffee stand yesterday afternoon...I feel this needed to be said for someone else could have gotten quite ill. I ordered my large latte with LACTOSE free milk. I paid than went over to the other side of the counter to wait for it. I watched the lady make my drink her name was Cami and she did not use LACTOSE free milk.....I saw the milk she used it was Micro filtered ....she brought the drink to me and i said "you did not use the correct milk"...she read the sleeve on the cup and said to me with such a ignorant voice....Yes this reads Lactose free and that is what i used. I replied i saw you...and you did not use the milk i requested. She actually said to me Fine...i will make you a new one....rolled her eyes and went back to the machine to make me a new drink.....I later watched her hand the fella behind me that exact drink she made the first time to him.....that is not good at all and i feel frustrated for i could have been very sick the whole day had i not watch her make the drink...that is not ok at all....I will not order from there again...
