The staff at Ava Maria's are truly amazing! Each one of the are very helpful and informative. We walked in looking for MCT oil as we heard of Keto Coffee and thought we should try that to help with burning fat. We couldn't find MCT oil anywhere else in town so thought we should check with our locally owned Specialty Health Food Store...Ava Maria's. We walked in looking for 1 item and walked out with an assortment of amazing products that are all geared to kick start our 2018 healthy lifestyle change. Our family is going to get back to health this year...and this time stay there...thanks to all the information we received today at Ava Maria's. A big special thank you to Theresa... who took the time to explain how everything would work for us so that we could make a more educated decision in choosing the products that would give us the utmost maximum results. We are so very happy we walked in...can't wait to start seeing the results of our purchase today????

They have everything you need. When my wife went there for some health issues asked for help one of the employees told her she's probably gluten intolerant so she went gluten free and haven't had any problems for years. our Healthcare System could not do anything for her

What a fun place! They carry so many products, for so many needs. Friendly and helpful staff. The prices are rather expensive to be sure, but it can't be cheap bringing in all these relatively obscure and specific products (low turns). Online is for sure a cheaper way to go, but you don't get the personal touch, the ability to hold the product before you buy it, and of course, the carbon footprint of your online purchase is much much larger than buying instore from these lovely people.

The store keeps up with the trends: the new Keto section is well stocked with an incredible array of options. They are always willing to bring in custom orders, and seek out new products.

Stephan and his wife Collett were convicted last April for failing to provide the necessaries of life for their 18-month-old son Ezekiel. The boy died in 2012 from bacterial meningitis that went untreated for several weeks. The pair is awaiting the results of an appeal of the conviction on the grounds that the trial judge erred when he refused to allow a former chief medical examiner to give expert advice and by redacting the doctor's expert report.

I bought bread from Ave Maria today, with missing expiry dates.. I rifled through the entire freezer to find anything with an expiry date.. nothing had one. When I got home I realized the buns were extremely freezer burnt, looked old and shriveled and the bag was filled with ice shavings. I took it upon myself to call the company and ask for the expiration dates by the lot number. They told me the dates were also on the beige tabs used to seal the bags, and that the buns had both expired in October of 2020!! Ave Maria is knowingly selling expired items, and to hide the dates, they are changing the tabs on the bags! This is so sad and heartbreaking.. because you can get the exact same bread WITH the date, and it’s $3 less from Save in Foods. I can’t support local, when local companies lie to their customers and deceive the brands they sell. I have reported to the company and they said they will follow up as they do not sell products with blank tabs.

I would suggest a boycott of this store is appropriate. Bringing a person convicted of contributing to the death of his child because of a failure to seek medical treatment as a promoter of a health product shows an unbelievable lack of business acumen on the owners part. Given the product being promoted is manufactured by the owner I can only assume the same lack of business acumen would flow to the product. Given that the owner views his detractors as haters it is obvious that he is unwilling to see the unreasonable nature of his actions so the best way to affect change is by affecting his wallet. I would not use any of their products and would recommend that others do not as well. Just as their are alternatives in health there are alternatives in business.

Won't be shopping here again. I often buy vitamins here if I don't have time to wait to order them online, but that is it. The produce is always old and wilted or soft, the frozen foods are always freezer burnt, and the drinks and milk are always expired or taste spoiled due to not being kept cold. Lastly, you can get all of the same items (at a better quality) for a fraction of the cost and free shipping if you order enough on well.ca or naturamarket.ca.
