We've been shopping here for over fifteen years. To the person who said prices are too low to be organic, i'll point out the owner & her family have their own organic-certified farm. I don't think i've ever seen anyone complaining about low prices before. As for high prices, if you shop around you might find some items cheaper elsewhere, but then you've had to go elsewhere. And yes, the owner has a personality, but which of us doesn't? :D But she'll order products in specially for people, and you know, if you don't have the common courtesy to wear a mask, i don't want you near me either. I have no problems with a Masks Required sign. It's great that a town the size of Picton has three stores serving the needs of people with organic/health/bulk foods, and they each have their own strengths (Taste Your World and Penny's Pantry being the other two). It's also great to find a store where you can ask the staff their opinions or recommendations on the products, and they know about them. All three of these stores are such places.

It’s really difficult to write a review for this place. I love little places and I am always supportive of small businesses. Same time I am very appreciative of the service side of every business. Both myself and my partner were to the store many a time, I am rating it at 1 and that’s what I have to say. This store has a very good selection of organic produce and at a good price, too. That’s very rare in the area. Simultaneously, you’ll have to put up with a horrible, surly service from the owner.

I’m so sad to say I also must give this store a low rating. I used to go pretty frequently, as it was the only place around to get many of the items we use regularly. The selection is good, points for that, but the service is horrible. The prices on some things are also suspiciously good - I’ve often wondered how I could be getting an organic bulk item x, y, or z at such a price, and wondered if it really was organic as labeled. The vibe of the owner didn’t give me that wholesome health food loving feeling of trust that would normally dispel such suspicions. I have had a couple of negative interactions with her over issues with their credit card machine not working, and she was quite rude and unhelpful despite it being their issue. During the lockdown I only made it over there a few times early on - before masks were mandated everywhere. I wore one as requested and didn’t have any too-bad experience around it. It’s probably been over a year since I’ve been down there, and I was getting ready to go there today when I opened up Google to check the business hours before going since it’s a bit of a drive for us. That when I see the horrible star rating and think WOW finally people started acknowledging that this place is kinda questionable and rude!! I wasn’t at all expecting to see the images of the horribly unacceptable mask sign in the door. But the sentiment there didn’t surprise me it all. Just solidified and validated all the weird feelings I’d had over the years going there that these weren’t maybe such good or nice people. It’s such a shame because I really value being able to buy those products - it has left me with major gaps in my pantry, not going there. But I won’t be making the trip today unfortunately. Not interested in supporting anyone that feels entitled to be so crass and nasty to people with different needs or opinions. I respect and support their right to set their own rules around their comfort level for people coming into their store - it’s their store after all. I don’t agree with their opinion at all, but it’s their right to have it. But it is NOT okay to display it with such contempt and vitriol packed into the messaging. You can politely and respectfully set your boundaries, which would have kept me as a customer. But this is quite too much. Sorry to say I won’t be going there :(

Not sure why they're being attacked on google when many places around the county don't allow for mask exemption. I am disabled and I appreciate their strict policy around masking. They do allow curbside pick-up unmasked...They are affordable and stock valuable supplements in the county. Sometimes the owner can be uptight but the other staff are friendly and helpful.

If I could give this place zero out of five I would, horrible customer service, the owner was rude ignorant and totally non-customer service oriented, I asked a few very basic simple questions, and she got all rude and uppity, I wouldn’t shop there again ever

Unbelievable that a health food store would not understand about true health and discriminate against people with medical exemptions...and be proud of it! And to try to charge you $50-$75 for attempting to have any sort of discussion. Obviously in the wrong line of business!

I purchased a vegan based spread only to get it home and noticed a horrible taste. I checked the expiration date (yes, should have done BEFORE I purchased), and the spread was overdue by FOUR months!! I had also purchased spices, however, with that lack of quality control I tried to return my entire purchase.When I attempted to return the products I was told I needed a receipt. After telling her that it was just purchased yesterday (different clerk), and stating that I do not want any of the items I purchased whether she refunded me or not, she began to 'change' her mind. Telling me they don't normally do that. Well, I don't normally expect perishable food to be sold that is extremely expired. Very disappointed. And I no longer trust this store for ANY perishables.

The owner has supported our local bird observatory over the past 10 years by selling our shade grown coffee. The owner takes no profit and gives us the full cost, which goes directly to migration research. Shopping at County Sunshine is always a pleasure. Great prices and a wide variety of products that are often hard to find in a small community.

I wouldn't ever shop here if they paid me. It's one thing to refuse vaccinated people, or medically exempt people service. It's an entirely different thing to charge someone between 50-95$ to explain YOUR perspectives to them or hear their response. Marxists to the extreme is the obvious conclusion for these small business owners selling health food! I think they're in the wrong line of work if they think it's OK to treat their customers that way.

A great small business that I stop in to when I am in the County. Outstanding and helpful staff who willingly share their knowledge, and it is just cute as a button in a world of soulless strip malls and sterile overly modern new builds. Throughout the pandemic they have been responsible citizens and very safety-minded. Ignore the recent negative reviews - they are a concerted and organized effort to drive down the ratings, undermine County Sunshine's great reputation, and harm a business for nonsense reasons.
