Not a very convenient store to try and maneuver around, with food displays stuck in random spots, restocking pallets left in the middle of the aisles. Finding any loaf of bread that doesn't have either one day left to expire or has already expired and nobody bothers to check is a challenge. The staff are friendly enough but to the point of being distracted with what they're doing, especially in the produce section. And from all the conversations I've heard amongst employees on the floor, it's just bad taste and shouldn't be done in front of customers. Save it for your break. The store itself is not the cleanest, especially outside and I don't see much cleaning going on. And they need a better system of dealing with the lineup in the store. Again, too little space. If there's a bright spot, the young man who greets you at the door is always very friendly and polite.

Really great staff, I love this store I truly do. Wish I could come here more often. But there are a lot of beggers and homeless around the store looking for hand-outs and my wife doesn't like comming here because of that. Which is why it isn't a 5 star review. You need to make it more safe for women comming here, or my wife will just keep price matching your prices at other stores to stay away from the danger.

Exactly what I had expected. It's a lower end grocery store but you can't beat the prices on any aisle foods. Meat and produce departments are questionable. My two stars reflect the checkout experience. I believe the store has only two happy tellers, the rest are miserable and seem bothered by having to do their job. This won't deter me from returning, I just prepare myself for the rudeness, much like a boxer prepares himself to be punched in the face!

I purchased a striploin steak for over $9 on Thursday and grilled it last night. It was the worst striploin steak I’ve ever had and I grill all the time. It had no marbling which I noticed at the time but they only had one left so I thought I’d take a chance. Big mistake. Where do they get their meat .. is it stuff all the other grocery stores have turned down? It was really really bland, thin, and disappointing.

Great selection of international foods for a basic city grocery store. The produce looks nice and the shelves are stocked well. The location isn't ideal, in a bit of a dangerous area, so I'd personally avoid this one and go to the one on the Parkway. Much nicer location and safe.

I tell everyone this is the best fresh food section of any grocery store in the area. Staff and security are super nice, don't be afraid to ask for help or just have a little chat. It's a smaller store so doesn't have a huge variety, but the fruits and veg, and friendliness make up for it

This is my favorite grocery store in the world!!! Everything is where it should be. The cashiers are the most genuine anywhere in the world. They are so skilled in difusing the rukus' we have all seen. The security guard, who i really just singled out since the pandemic, keeps everything flowing, and certainly boosted moral amongst bedraggled customers last spring. This place feels like home.

The produce is great quality and fair priced. Freshco is affordable and has a good selection. It often seems like they need more cashiers. On 3 occasions I've been there, there have only been 2 cashiers and the lines were going down aisles and wrapping around the corner, leaving it impossible to get to certain items on my shopping list. On those 3 occasions the cashiers have been rude but I can't even blame them because I know I'd be just as frustrated and exhausted if I worked at such an understaffed workplace. I have not liked shopping here through the pandemic as it's been absurdly crowded inside at points. It seems like they aren't keeping count of customers.

It's a grocery store that sells groceries. The prices are fair, the produce, bakery & deli goods are generally fresh--better than at Superstore, for example--and the store is quite clean and well-stocked. It is an older store, through, which means the selection is a bit sparse and the aisles narrow. If you were born before 1990, you'll probably find it charming.

I am writing this on behalf of a friend who recently went to this FreshCo to buy groceries and was severely mistreated by one of the managers who was working that day. My friend was in lineup for tills attempting to read the COVID guidelines posted in the store (as they had recently changed their guidelines but had not updated the store layout to reflect the changes) when a female manager at one of the open tills directly gestured to and yelled at them to stop reading the sign and to get to their till. My friend was wearing headphones half off their head at the time, so thinking they were unable to hear is one thing but it was unmistakably frustration with them. My friend paid with credit card but the manager did not explain that you have to announce what kind of credit card you're using to purchase, so after awkwardly standing around and then telling them what type they were using the manager insulted them to their face by remarking to a neighbouring cashier that they thought "Trent students would be smarter than this" to my friends face. After leaving the store, my friend saw that there were a number of used carts around the entrance that had not been moved back into place and decided to put them back to make things easier for whoever would have to move them later. While doing this, the manager (most likely on break) looked at my friend and then said audibly to their co worker that their job "would be so much easier if people would stop touching things all the time." This behaviour is absolutely unacceptable in any customer service setting and I am incredibly disgusted that higher level staff would be able to act this way, I feel sorry for the rest of staff that would have to deal with them while they are not serving customers. I implore a response by this FreshCo, I am incredibly upset that my friend, who also works in customer service, was humiliated by staff intended to help them and I am certain that management would not want this behaviour to continue.

It has a good variety of food products at a good price. Particularly I enjoy the section of fruits, vegetables that has things like mangoes, yuca, plantain, chayote squash & others. The only thing hard is if you have an injury or dissability when you are packing your things, you feel really rush andcis not easy. Majority of tellers give good service. The Security fellow is really pleasant and helpful.

D and I try to shop off hours, which doesn't always work! FreshCo were fewer numbers than we feared and more than we hoped for! We are always safety first and high Mark's in this regard. There's no indication that the carts are sanitized but a young employee assured us this was the case. No one was assuring people weren't all over and I was surprised to not see the security person present or no one to remind customers regarding masks. Because of the single line one person just left their car in the line up and still roamed the last 2 aisles. Really? Check out cashier was lovely. Drats forget her name! Sorry.

Great prices and good service no frills on other hand the one on George is horrible someone was accused of stealing an my brother saw him get chocked I came out cuz I saw this big guy run after a lol kid an I missed the chocking but me an several people saw him hurting the kid an said to stop it's one thing to detain but he was taking the anger out on him he dropped him on the ground so I told my brother to video tape with his phone the he stopped he wasn't in uniform but I think he was cuz there was a employee in uniform that running like he was Gona attack him so I said to him ur on camera an he stoped dead in his tracks an said he didn't care but didn't chase him an they wanted the video from my bro we said police will get it but not first time I seen this at dieter an darcys no frills on George I went in to get a bottle of pop they started to close am I went to check out still had 5 minutes am there was a cashier but manager came and floors out bigger guy no offence I'm big also short an I think glasses but always on a power trip also i was with my mom aunt brother lol cousin and gf at independent grocery up on Lansdowne past ashburnham by dog park we bought lots of stuff they followed us out and starting accusing us about the sunscreen under the stroller of my lil cousin not knowing who to point the finger at I think they said my mom first cuz she was so mad then eventually they said it was my gf an then I realized the sunscreen is open so I show them it was maybe half full an this guy said he saw her steal it I forgot to say an them once I made the point it wasn't new he said oh u must of opened it an used it in there my mom was livid she wanted cops there they wouldn't they made my gf cry an probly traumatized her cuz she's always afraid of that an I have bad anxiety so does my bro so we're having a panic attack pretty much so we went home cuz they refused to phone police my mom couldn't let it go so phoned them an they one guy said sorry he's uaaly right so he must just be profiling people cuz u don't get it wrong an he said he watched my gf grab it after switching stories just pathetic stick to freschco or no frills on Lansdowne lol

Well we are regulars at the Lansdowne outlet and this was our first time at Brock. Its pretty much the same with regards to goods and products. The staff were friendly and the showroom was clean - just thought the layout was better at Lansdowne.It feels more spacious, airy and illuminated.

It's an overall decent store, but as some others have mentioned, getting into the parking lot can be tricky given how steep the entrance is. I don't have issues anymore, however in the past when I drove standard I avoided the location at times during winter as it could be unsafe.

+ Staff are very friendly and generally helpful (outside of the new hires who often don't know where things are just yet) + They have milk alternatives including soy creamer (used to carry plant based cheese and whipped cream, but sadly no longer). They also carry a variety of plant-based "meats" + Very accessible via the Trent or city buses at the George and Brock stop + Open until 10 pm on weekdays - Produce is often sold out or off the shelves after 8 pm - Selection of food is very limited compared to other grocers; definitely not a place to pick up any specialty items An inexpensive grocery store to pick up the basics.

It appears that we will never go there again, we will go to the other Fresco store in Peterborough. When we arrived there were no carts outside so we went in and asked some employee where the carts were and he mumbled something to my wife then I asked twice where they were and finally understood “the end of aisle 6” so I asked where is that couldn’t understand his mumbling. We found the store disorganized with pallets in the aisle for restocking, and we considered the place unsanitary. We also could not find what was on our list. With this covid problem I felt this store was not worthy of my patronage.

I always have a good visit to Freshco. I get most of what I want there and have no complaints. I bought a red grocery cart from them to make it easier to get my groceries home and the fellows who put it together for me kept up a happy conversation during tbe procedure. I enjoy the clerks and recently found the name of one of them who always has a smile and kind word to say. I also saw money almost every visit. ????

Doesn't even deserve the one star. I watched as the Customer Service Manager made snide comments about her workers behind their backs, but loud enough for them to hear. And then force a mother to have her autistic child be brought into the store to verify that they could use their Child Disability Benefit to buy groceries. After I told her that the has provided all the legal documentation that this mother needs, instead of trying to resolve the conflict WHICH IS HER PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY! Her response was, "that's not the rules we go by here' YOU MEAN THE LAW?!?! Then I had to go home and explain the situation to my client with a disability why some people don't try to understand other people with disabilities.
