I used to love the Hong Kong style bread and egg tarts from T&T but not anymore. Their quality has been constantly dropping. The fillings inside the bread become less with a huge air bubble. The egg tarts I bought yesterday were not properly cooked. The pastry was soggy! Very disappointed!

Today is the first day it opens. It seems that the entire Chinese community in Waterloo region showed up here! I wish the store could be larger to accommodate that crowd. Great selection of Chinese food, especially the hot food bar. Vegetables are fresh. As expected, many food items are pricier than those in New City but they do have a bunch of discounted goods. They also have a great selection of organic grains! The staff were very friendly! When we checked out, the cashier lady said "it's great that you brought reusable bags. It's good for the environment!" How nice! The drawback was that we ordered some stuffed buns and hot soups but the buns had dry and thick skin. Soups were too sweet. Nevertheless, it is still the best Chinese store in town.

T&T is a place I go to whenever I have the chance, yet I can't say I ever fully adore the experience. There's no doubt that it has an AWESOME selection of food to purchase. I don't have any Asian supermarkets near me, so it fulfills all my needs for ingredients. I love it for that. It also has some really great snacks and canned coffee, if that's your thing (it definitely is mine). However, I often find it immensely cramped in there. The other day the line went all the way across the store, and having to push past people just to get to an aisle and then do it AGAIN is really nerve-wracking. I've never had someone get mad at me there, but I'm always worried someone will. I always feel pushed to get through the store as fast as possible. Due to this, I kind of dread going whenever I do.

Went to this location to pickup some local Asian groceries and I was surprised how unclean this place is. It's like you're walking into the Wet Market in Wuhan, China - no joke. Dirty floors, food contamination, and unorganized. I was not happy to learn that coming back from this store, less than a week later I fell ill. Avoid this place as it is dirty dirty DIRTY

The first day itself I went there and parked my car at the parking lot in front of the super market. One guy from super market came and asked me "who are you and who gave the permission to park here". I didn't see any "reserved for t&t super market" board there. I went there to see the new super market. But my experience was horrible because of their attitude.

Generally love T&T. This is a franchise with locations in a few places. When this place opened, there were line ups around the building! This particular branch has a very large seafood section. They also will often clean fish you buy for you. There is an option for particular seafood to be picked by you, and cooked by them (eg lobster, mussels, etc). It can be a bit hard to navigate the store if you have allergies. Read products carefully and note that even though a product says it’s meat, it may actually be soy (for me this is a plus). There’s a lot of options here for vegetarians if you’re adventurous. However, unlike traditional Canadian grocery stores, the dairy section is more limited. This is not the place to go for cheese! This is the place to go for soy products! The best part of T&T are the people. The staff here tend to be really friendly and proud of their store. They will advise you on their favourites if you ask.

Smaller than the T&Ts I am used to in the GTA i still found this store great for things I struggle to find in traditional grocery stores for asian cooking. I was able to get hot pot meat and soup bases and picked up some of their pork buns which were absolutely delicious. Prices are definitely higher here than some asian groceries but the store is very clean and the seafood area smells good. COVID protocols are kept better than any other grocery store I have been in.

Had good COVID protocols but the ready-served food felt like it was out too long (some of it had went dry). The produce and grocery section has a good selection and I was able to find everything I needed easily. The store staff were great if we had any questions as well.

Very happy to have a T&T in Waterloo. Service is surprisingly friendly. A person stocking the produce split a bag of ginger into a smaller bag just for me. We've had help finding products, and prompt friendly service at the butcher counter. Prices for chicken breasts almost beat Costco. Loads of selection - everything we've needed for dumplings, hot pot, bibim bap, etc. Also enjoyed the ready-to-eat selection. Tons of choices and a simple charge-by-weight so you can pick and choose.

Overall a good selection of east Asian goods, though I expect a larger variety of instant and fast food as it being near a university which student cook less than average when compare to other T&T in Toronto and Markham (bakery was very limited). In addition, maybe a pet peeve of mine, but I expect worker to reply back in English when I ask them I question in English, and not Mandarin, which is an assumption that I'm Chinese. Obviously not. If not, they can refer me to an English speaking worker.

One of the largest asian supermarkets in Ottawa. T&T is my go to place for asian ingredients and snacks because it’s clean and well organized. They’re usually not busy during weekdays and on weekends the lines aren’t too long either. Lots of options and fun things to try and they have seafood you wouldn’t find at most Canadian supermarkets. They also have some hot and cold food, made in store. I’d stay away from these and just order good takeout though. I’ve tried many of their dishes and have been overall disappointed. Also don’t get their sushi because usually the rice is super dry :’(

The supermarket was huge, bright, clean and had so many things at a great price. Our shopping experience was excellent. Truly excellent. Unfortunately, we primarily came there for dinner. We ordered before going shopping so that it would be ready when we were done.. We had the soup where you choose your own ingredients and they boil it up for you with noodles and soup base. The station wasn't busy. After a half hour of waiting, we checked in. She hadn't started our soup because she didn't know how spicy we wanted it, so instead of making our beeper go off to ask us, she just didn't cook anything. We then waited again. We were there over an hour. We were incredibly hungry and did not appreciate the wait at all. No one apologized either. The soup was delicious, the base was salty, but very tasty. We might not go back for cooked food again though.

Huge selection of meats, produce, snacks etc for both the average household and for specific ethnic foods. I love that there's such a large selection and the store is fairly well organized. 10/10 on social distancing protocols and considerate/helpful employees. I just went last night to grab a few small things and ended up spending $160 ????‍♂️ it was really hard not to buy all the nostalgic things I use to eat as a child or that I missed eating when visiting different parts of Asia. Only gripe is some of the pricing is super steep, but that's pretty normal given all the import duties and long shipping distances. I hope asian cuisine will get more popular and we'll be able to leverage better shipping rates so that at least our asian grocer prices can match Torontonian T&Ts

We enjoy going here mainly because it is the only decent Asian store in Ottawa. The hot meals are a hit or a miss depending on the time of day you visit. We always get frozen dim sum items that we can steam at home. I LOVE the Bakery section and usually buy a lot of items ranging from their individually packaged buns to their almond cookies. We always find something to buy here. There is also a bubble tea place located inside which is great!

Very bad customer service at Waterloo, ON Store. Address: 50 Westmount Rd N Unit B1, Waterloo, ON N2L 6N9. Poor management team. The Store cashier scanner error happened frequently. They charged for extra items, even you clarified error in front of the cashier desk. They still proceeded with wrong charges and told you the item has been removed. Point System steals points if you are processing two separated transactions within couple minutes, please see my attached receipt copies. The second transaction points were lost and deducted your first purchase point balance point by 80 points. Be careful that was with same Cashier, who used the same cash register. Store manager refused to proceed RCC (Canadian retailers, RCC manages the Scanner Price Accuracy Code) although their parent company, Loblaw Companies Limited has joined RCC SPAC code. I requested for case follow up, however it was rejected by store manager. Suggestion: Avoid to purchase multiple or large quantities items. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVE THE COUNTER, USE SELF-SCANNER SYSTEM, CHECK YOUR POINT BALANCE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH STORE CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM AND STORE MANAGER, THEY DON'T CARE FOR CUSTOMERS, THE ONLY THING THAT THEY CARE IS $$$. Attached pictures are the proof of my error transactions which happened on December 31, 2021. And my friend recent error transaction which happened on Jan 7, 2022.

Awesome Asian supermarket! Lots of variety and super colorful. There is a fresh sushi bar and a self-serve food area. Beauty products, frozen section, refrigerated, etc. Huge store. They also have tofu pockets which we haven't been able to find anywhere else! Wish there were a few more vegan items in the freezer sections but some great stuff here. Super convenient to have this right beside the University of Waterloo as well with the large international student population.

I usually like this store. But… I bought a loaf of Raisin plain bread today (Sept 30, 2021), but according to the label it was packed tomorrow(?!!!)… on Oct 1, 2021. There is nothing wrong with the bread, but what is going on with the “packed on” date?

Be prepared to spend a lot of money here! Everything is SO good. Their hot food bar is delish and there are so many fun items to try. The staff are friendly and helpful! Good covid precautions as well. They even have some patio tables out front to have lunch. Definitely go!

Pricey but beggars can't be choosers. When it gets busy you get some choice products. There really isn't much competition on their hands. There's a nice little area to eat food and they have decent priced meals and make your own lunch/meals there. Lunches can get extremely busy. It's good that this place is available in this area. Try to eat the food fresh as possible.

Very big, very clean, lots of selection and there are sections. Fresh seafood, make up, fresh produce abs fruits, snacks, lots of chips and ramen etc. Lots of ready made food to go that is good and quite cheap! You pay by weight. Also a "da-been-lo" hot pot section you chose your items and have a soup to go.

In my experience, T&T has some vegetables that are nowhere available in supershops like walmart. So, for those, I am definitely depending on T&T. They have variety of shrimps, prawns and other seafoods. They also sell some south asian fishes too. On the hygiene part, they are maintaining cleaning and disinfecting very seriously.

Store is immaculate and in a fairly easy to access location (ample parking and on a bus route for nearby university students). Selection is pretty decent but not as extensive as some Asian markets (but I found it to be better than some of those is downtown Kitchener). Great frozen and fresh meat/seafood selection in addition to prepared foods. Prices are fair but you pay for the selection. In house bakery is amazing. I had a still warm from the oven egg tart that was perfection itself. I highly recommend a visit.

Asian Heaven must be this! Every food you need or could think of needing. Their Hot Food is hands down one of the best Chinese style food I've had in KW and so cheaply priced! Their bakery is awesome too and I get the tayaki every single time I go there. Covid: extremely clean and well maintained. Masks are enforced as well.

Love this place, they need to open up more or at least one more around somewhere cause at certain times it gets pretty darn busy and at times products are out of stock and it takes a while for them to stock it back up or they just don't have it for days. So if you're looking for something that you need to buy make sure to go at a time that there isn't a lot of folks or go early in the day and that also goes with their dessert and hot foods area, things disappear quick. Overall though great place to buy asian products that you don't see anywhere at other stores, lots of unique things, decent dessert and good hot foods. Be warned though when you step in thinking you'll buy only a few things but only to come out with more than what you needed.

We host two visiting Chinese students and they love to go to this market to get some traditional food and talk with people who understand their home tongue. There are lots of Canadian selections there too, however, and English is not a problem. Pre made meals are available, and their sushi plates are reasonable. If you want to check out something a little different, be sure to stop by.

One of the best options in the area for getting select items for various Asian cuisines. Their produce is very inexpensive and very good for what they carry but they do not have as many options in their produce section as larger chains such as Sobeys. To give them credit, their produce section still has a large selection though.

The worker was ignoring me for 5 minutes so i was about to climb over to grab the ground pork when another employee realized and then told the other employee to help me. Store is amazing for most shopping needs. Would recommend

I have been a loyal shopper at T& T since they opened. Every time I get what I need and want and it serves my family really well. The cashiers are generally nice and helpful. However, the self-check out section can use some improvement. While doing the self-check out around 11am, the lady with the yellow hair (stationed in Customer Service) was very reluctant every time I needed help with scanning an item. She even reprimanded me for using self-checkout and told me that it was meant for customers with less than 25 items. I'd admit, I may have a few over 25 items. However, I was the only one or two that used the self-check out and did not hold up anyone. I tried not to be needy and only asked help with the scanning three times. Nevertheless, when I complained to her that using self-checkout should be encouraged, not discouraged. This yellow hair lady then accused me that I raised my voice. It then became very very unpleasant. Her attitude and manners do not reflect the image and philosophy that T & T stands for. Helping customers and being friendly should also be the top priority! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I had another visit today since my review (around 2pm 8/31). I did not use self checkout this time. However, I did notice that a friendly and attentive staff was stationed at the self checkout and was much more responsive. For that, I am changing my rating. Thank you, T & T, for listening and making the improvement.

I am so happy that T&T is in Waterloo. I can get most of my groceries here when I am cooking either Asian or Canadian food. I don't need to make two trips to different supermarkets anymore! They also had a huge selection of Moon cakes during mid Autumn festival. I still haven't tried their seafood bar yet but the dim sum and hot foods are at a good price and delicious.

This place is amazing if you're someone looking to explore Asian cuisine from a variety of cultures. Imagine their local Asian grocery shop but on Costco-like steroids. It's huuuge and the selection is amazing. Want noodles? Well here's 100 varieties to choose from. Want dumplings? Spent the next 10 minutes exploring the selection available. They have a real solid bakery, butcher.... even a buffet! Totally worth a trip to explore.

I went there on Wednesday night, the lady in self-checkout was so rude and unprofessional. We buy a lot but the cashier was closed for a moment, we have to pay on self checkout. A lot of veggies we don’t know the code, the lady just went away until we call her again and again, I assume she should stand with us help to input all the veggies with no code. Finally, she has no patience, said “ why don’t you go to cashier.” I said “the cashier was closed when we were there” she said” why are you mad?!” Really? is that the treatment to their customer? This supermarket is well-stocked with almost every Chinese / Asian food you could ever desire, as well as a large produce section. There are also "basic" food items, but the selection is fairly limited. Of special interest are the in-store bakery, live seafood, and prepared food counter (including a dining area). The store is bright and clean, and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Make sure to get a loyalty card at the machine near the entrance, then use it at checkout, either staffed or self-serve. Tip from experience: give them a couple of hours to bake or make their homemade items!

Huge Asian supermarket! All the T&T goodness you'd expect is found here, including live seafood, frequent sales, and hot food with a modest dining area as well. Prices here are not necessarily the best, but sales are pretty good. Service was good too, cashiers speak English and were enthusiastic to help out. Pretty impressed! It is way bigger inside than the store appears to be on the outside. I assume that Chinese is prevalent on the interior store signage (but I don't know if it is), but with all the international food options, fresh produce, incredible seafood (with live King Crab about four feet wide) it literally felt like I had jumped into another world market!! Pricing looked competitive based on the few product brands I recognized, and right now the store is beautifully decorated in red and gold for the Chinese new year! I will be going back soon to spend time doing more comparison shopping, and also to get some points racked up on my new T&T points card!! It is strange how Zehrs, Sobeys and now T&T are all equidistant from our house. Talk about options!!

Lots of great asian treats and food, Asian buffet is back with spring rolls, noodles and fried rice. Love grabbing dim sum, buns and sushi here. Also if you come later in the day closer to closing you can usually get a discount on some sushi and hot items.

A lot of the food there (excluding fruit) is designed that you know exactly what you need and know where to find it, so not the best store for people who don't know much about Asian foods.

A bit of a mixed review. The grocery part of the store is amazing. Clean, organized, easy to navigate. Some prices are a bit higher than Zehrs but they often have deals. The selection is also incredible, any time I want to cook some Japanese food I can find all the sauces, seasonings and ingredients that I need here. There's a lot of snacks, fresh fish, fresh fruit, beauty products (Hada Labo!) and even a small selection of home items. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is the prepared food area. I've purchased food here about 5 times and it has always been disappointing. The rice from the buffet area was like plastic, very hard. The other items I had from that area were dry or didn't have good taste (except the noodles, those were just ok). I also tried the Bento trays and same thing, the rice was hard and the meat very chewy. Also, the few cakes I bought from the bakery weren't very good. The Swiss roll had no flavour and was dry just like the waffles, honey cake and cream cake. I would only buy cutie tarts or cookies from that section. I haven't tried their big cakes though. The sushi is ok just like the little seaweed salad trays and small items in that counter.

This place is huge and full of so much fascinating food you won't find elsewhere. During my last visit I bought frozen durian, frozen passionfruit, dried spicy mung beans, and other fun treats. It seems to always be busy and packed with people, but if you're a foodie and like to explore the tastes of other cultures, this place is worth exploring. I would also recommend their app and delivery service, which I have used a few times. If you want to avoid the crowds but explore the food, you can order stuff online and schedule a delivery.

Love this store! They always have fresh produce that almost no other store would have. Like fresh figs and papaya. Chinese grocery stores have always been a part of my life and among all the ones I've visited, T&T is by the most well organized, well staffed, well stocked and visual merchandised grocery store I have seen yet. Some of their products especially the beauty ones, can be very pricey but most of their goods are very reasonable. I love the adorable tiny carts and how they take covid procedures very seriously. Their bakery is the best! Try the oval shaped coconut buns with white sesame seeds on top; they're individually packaged and if you wait until evening they'll be all gone for sure so make sure to go in the morning.

Sure, you are trucking stuff out an hour but that shouldn't change the prices so drastically. Great service. Good selection. Well priced. Vegetables are fresh. Lots of organic selections for Asian produce. The service here is great. Staff all seem to be happy. Once I wanted to buy a cucumber near store closing and all the cucumbers have just been put away. A few staff tracked down the person apparently responsible for the cucumber inventory for me and the cucumber staff took special care to pick out the best cucumber he could find -- he mentioned the way it was shaped and how the younger ones taste good. All that for one cucumber. Another few times I didn't want to get bags but needed to collect my grocery items to my car. The staff brought a cart to the cashier counter from outside as I was checking out. Staff at this T&T is always helpful. Not much comment needed regarding the selection. Mostly standard T&T fair. I particularly appreciate the organic selection of various food items. Like various beans, roots -- Chinese materials for soup. This T&T offers a unique selection of products that cannot be replaced by other local stores. Price here is great for a variety of things. Sales happen often. And sales here are not gimmicks that lower prices temporary on otherwise overpriced goods. They are not always on low quality items either. This T&T's sales seem more related to the volume of their stock. The best priced products at this T&T are vegetables, fruits from time to time, occasionally beef short-ribs and frozen seafoods. Some of their Asian packaged foods are not easily available elsewhere. Same with some fresh seafood. So price is a mute point for those. I shop at Brady's, Victoria Street Market, Vincenzo (incl Caudle's Catch), 7-day mart, Central Fresh, Costco, Zehrs, St Jacob Farmers Market, the other Asian stores by the University and in Kitchener. When I say their price is good, I mean good compared to every other sensible place in Kitchener-Waterloo. The vegetables at this T&T are particularly fresh. They do appear to receive their vegetables in the morning but they don't finish processing and bringing them out to the counters until afternoon. In any case, the volume here is large enough for all but the last few bundles to be in great condition. Fruits are a bit of a mix bag. They offer some delicate fruits that decay quickly. Things as unassuming as coconut change completely after a day. You just have to be selective -- although all Asian shoppers are highly selective, which means the last 2/3s of every batch is not of the most desirable quality. Thus for fruits, one still need to shop between this T&T and other places. A lot of their other items are unique. Although Walmart does carry a tiny selection of the same products. Walmart's minced garlic for example is significantly cheaper. Another example is ice-cream at Costco vs T&T here. Costco is cheaper. So it seems for processed/packaged food, if another place has the same product, T&T is unlikely to beat its price. For their fresh seafood, don't buy their Tilapia. Don't bother buying Tilapia from anywhere these days. (Quality of farmed fish has been turning towards bad and now towards outright toxic.) I haven't tried their lobsters or crabs. They seem similar to ones you would get at restaurants. I would come here for Sea Urchin and odd things like that which are not easily available elsewhere. The quality for those things is satisfactory. Price is not low. I wouldn't get their Atlantic salmon. The quality is decent but the price is high relative to the quality.

I actually asked someone in produce for help finding an item and they told me “they don’t get paid to do that”, the same attitude I got from the other staff. There are very few helpful ones though. I had a lot to buy and needed a second cart with no coin, I practically BEGGED SEVERALLY all the staff at the self service section and the guy at the door for a second cart as I had no other coin on me, I know fully well they could get me one but they refused. Then when they saw all the things I had to carry, they magically got a cart for me after I’ve lifted everything. Ended up buying almost $1,500 worth of items in 3 carts, and not one single person could help pull 1 extra cart to where I’ve parked. One of the staff offered to help, but another who seems like a senior told her not to. It’s sick people are treated like this, in a place where others stores are always improving their customers experience. Your staff needs a serious overhaul and retraining on how to treat customers. Most even look like they’re unhappy at their jobs and take it out on customers. Hopefully, I never have to set foot here again.

This is a nice little supermarket that's usually bustling with activity. It carries a decent range of east and southeast Asian products and fresh produce. The staff are helpful and friendly and you'll almost certainly be able to find help in Cantonese and Mandarin (English of course, as well) if needed. Some produce sells out quickly, so if you're making a drive, the staff encourage you to call ahead to check first. I visit T&T weekly for everything from galangal root to shaoxing cooking wine, green tea mochi or a solid wok.

Good selection of Asian produce and food but it's rather marked up in comparison to T&T in Toronto so the value isn't really there for regular priced goods. STAY AWAY FROM THE ROAST PORK. I've avoided getting until I saw a decent looking roast one day (it usually looks nasty, burnt in some parts, rubbery skin in others). The flavour was half decent but I practically chipped a tooth trying to bite through the skin. I've also tried the BBQ pork. It's a weird hue of grey all the way through and oddly mushy. I've eaten these meats my whole life in Markham/Scarborough and have never seen such a poor execution of roast meat.

For an Asian market, there is so much variety. The produce is so fresh and clean! I love the variety of hot pot ingredients, too. I am a little bit disappointed in the bbq pork (pork loin, no tenderloin), but that is my preference. We have done hot takeout a few times now and have not been disappointed. This is a very small T&T location so you do need to temper your expectations. The inventory is naturally much smaller than other locations, and it lacks the variety of hot food that the larger stores have. Prices are higher here than in Toronto but are generally on par with other stores in KW. That being said, it's impressive how much they have managed to fit into such a small unit. I go here every other week to stock up on all the things you still can't find in Walmart.

Store is quite clean and stock with many fresh food. Variety is not as well stock as ones in Toronto, but is adequate for most food one is looking for. Price is average, but save you a trip to go Toronto or Mississauga. There is temperature check before entering which is really the only place I have seen enforcing it since start of the pandemic. Before pandemic, their hot table is always nice to have for dine in or take out. They also have a special noodle table where you can pick and choose sides for them to freshly cook for you. Another specialty they do is steam seafood. Again, pick your seafood from one of their tank and they will cook it for you. Overall, very good grocery store!

This week like many weeks in the past they advertised Dungeness crab for $10.99 lb Friday, Saturday and Sunday 2lbs and under. I was there Friday and there was two full tanks of crab priced at $10.99lb as advertised. I figured I be good til Sunday to come back and pick up a few for Christmas. Come 6pm Sunday the price is now $18.99 lb. I asked the worker what happened to $10.99? He said it's all sold out and the ones in the tanks are over 2lbs each but I witness a lady being charged $73 for 2 crabs from the very same tank. $73 divided be 18.99 is 3.86lbs. That is less than 2lbs each which mean she got ripped off T and T is false advertising and it is against the law with $200 000 in fine. This has happened before and often. Next time this happens again I will take pictures and will contact the competition bureau of Canada

First I want to say I have read the negative reviews and they are wrong. I want to write a bunch of insults about the negative reviewers but I am going to move on. My qualifications for this review. I have been in many many many Asian grocery stores. My first exposure to T&T was the Ottawa store. I thought I had discovered nervana. I have done other T&Ts as well and 5 star the Toronto night market, except that one year. I was so happy when the chain announced a waterloo location. It has a great selection, I buy mostly Korean, and fresh groceries. If you buy by the lb don't forget to have it weighed and priced in advance. Hot food is great, hot seafood is crazy. My only complaint is it is small compaired to other T&T and that limits product. Prices are medium but quality is higher. T&T is a worthy visit, but know what you are buying and dive in. And treat the staff well, they are kind and hardworking. Note: The bun seller in the corner near meat is fierce, everytime I open my fridge full of buns I ask myself why did I buy those?

I love this grocer. Ample parking and pay to take carts are always handy and ensure people return the carts. They have a great selection of fresh, frozen and pantry items. This is the only place in my area where I can find jackfruit for a decent price. Great bakery and a very good seafood department offering scaling and cleaning services as well. You do need to know your prices in order to avoid over paying. I do recommend this grocer as they provide excellent, ethnic food choices.

A wonderful gem for Waterloo! Super clean compared to other Asian markets in the area. Staff is always very helpful and nice. If they don’t know exactly what you are saying they find someone immediately that does. Today my wife wanted a drink out of a cooler an employee was stocking. She said excuse me to the employee and he apologized for being in her way like 6 times thinking he made her wait. I had some questions about produce and the guy there was super helpful finding everything I needed. The lady at the produce weigh scale handed me some fresh ginger she just processed seconds before, weighed it and priced it in seconds with a smile. Today the cashier put an elastic band around my eggs just to make sure they arrived safe and sound! Overall great place with quality items and staffed by awesome people. A breath of fresh air in the area!

LOVE this place! This store is amazing and I wish we had gone sooner. The place is so well organized, so many different Asian foods and my gawd is it ever clean! The place is immaculate!! I can't stand the smell of fish and I cannot believe how big of a fresh fish section they have and you can't smell a thing. Last time we went to grab a bit to eat first before shopping and the ready made food was really good and reasonable priced. You just fill your container and you're charged by the weight. Only complaint is the place to pay for the dine in food also rings out groceries. We had to wait in line behind several people with FULL carts while our food was getting cold. They have a nice little bakery in the back and so many thing there we can't wait to try. The prices are very reasonable and they have a really great flyer every week.

T&T Supermarket on Hunt Club road is a great place to find asian produce and cuisine that won't be found in most western grocery stores. They have delicious in-store prepared Sushi, Dim Sum, roasted Pekking duck and various types of noodle soups. The store and eating area is reasonably clean and the staff are friendly and polite. The best prices can be found on asian goods, but I have found that produce like milk, eggs, juice and cereal to be a little expensive. I love T&T! There is no supermarket anywhere that takes Covid as seriously as this location and they have done it from the very beginning. Their store standards here are extremely high as well, before and during Covid. Their selection of produce, meat, frozen goods and bakery are huge and they also have a hot food stand where you can fill containers with premade food. This is shutdown due to Covid but its awesome - like a mini buffet inside of the best supermarket in KW region.

It was very crowded in Saturday afternoon. I was using the self-checkout and when I put the code number of the leeks it showed a different item on the screen. So I had to wait for the staff and mentioned I need help. However, the staff just pass by and on the way she shouted the code number to me. As I needed to cancel the wrong item first I asked her again to help me out. She said that she gave me the code number so I had to figure it out by myself because she is busy and went away. I was speechless of her rudeness. Was really disappointed of the bad customer service. More badly, I realized on the way home that she did not cancel the wrong item. As many reviewer agreed this place is big and clean and the employees are friendly. It offers free parking and it is on some major bus route. Take note that on a busy day you may still need to circle around for a few minutes to park your car. The price may not be the best but you get what you paid for. There's plenty of unique things I'm happy to try, but there's no way I'm going near the seafood area. The Asian way of keeping fish out in the open for who knows how long, sitting on a bed of ice just doesn't work for me.

I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the high prices mainly on their produce. Grapes at $16.88 / kg is not affordable. Perhaps they are a rare delicacy but, way out of my budget. I saw a guy grab 8 grapes only. Even the bananas were higher priced than most other grocery stores. Regardless, I would highly recommend.

I was impressed with the overall cleanliness and friendliness of staff and the establishment. I had walked for an hour to do my shopping at the mall and was in need of a washroom. There was the usual signs, alcohol, distancing tape but also there was a person monitoring temperatures as well. The thermometer was on a tripod and safe distancing adhered to. The washroom had just been cleaned. It sparkled and had a very fresh smell. People were masked and not in a hurry. There were lots of friendly people to ask for help or guidance if I needed it. Checkouts were busy but I prefer self check out anyway. Self checkout is 25 items or less. There is also a person ready and able to help with the checkout process.The quality and freshness of veggies, fish and meat goes without saying and price competitive. There is a vast selection of home grown and exotic fruits and vegetables. I chose a piece of Norwegian salmon for dinner, yummy. The take out food service is varied and replenished fairly often. Hot items are at times difficult to keep piping hot for any length of time. Cost for your meal is by weight and a tasty lunch can well come in under $10.

Please have bags readily accessible at the bakery. I had a bad experience today with a rude cashier at the front of the store and I would like to explain this in detail. I want management to read the entire review, please. Some of the staff at this store are weird about bags. There used to be a heavy-set girl who worked in the bakery. A few months ago I was buying buns and I requested a bag. She said "you don't need one." Sorry but I did need one because it's impossible to carry multiple buns in my hands. Then she told me to go to the front of the store and ask for a bag, I said no and she finally gave me a bag and proceeded to cough all over my order. I did not shop there again for a month. Thankfully, I don't think she works here any more. The ladies who work at the bakery now are very polite and accommodating with bags but they are usually busy working hard at the back of the store, so I have to wait to get their attention. Today I went to the store to get some buns but all of the ladies were busy working. I tried to just carry them without a bag. As I walked by the hot food section, I decided to grab a meal. I looked around for bags because my hands were full and all I could see were the normal plastic shopping bags so I grabbed one (keep in mind, this is what the heavy-set girl had told me to do months ago). As I went to check out my items, the cashier (light brown hair) was very rude and reprimanded me for using a bag. If I wasn't hungry, I would have just left and not purchased the food because I normally do not reward rude behaviour. Have bags readily accessible in the bakery, otherwise do not complain when customers request a bag or grab the nearest available bag. That type of attitude towards customers is unacceptable. I am a regular customer here but I will stop shopping here if this bad attitude continues. Also, a good example of great customer service is the older woman who usually sells the sticky rice wrapped in leafs. She is very friendly and polite. She has the right attitude and knows how to encourage sales. She should train this cashier on how to speak with customers.

I’ve been waiting for this market for a long time! I lives in UWP right now and there is actually a market in the plaza near by but I don’t like it! But I have no choice if I want to cook Chinese food or eat Asian snacks, I had to go there! Things are a bit expensive there and some goods are not sold for a long time and became a bit dusty! The BEST Covid protocols in place.I am always impressed by how hard the staff is working. I've seen people cleaning the glass corners of the freezer/chiller units on multiple occasions and they have always been meticulous in their work. As a POC who is not of Asian heritage I can often feel out of place and a bit overwhelmed as a lot of the products are orientated towards certain cuisines but I've never had trouble finding what I need.

Came with my 3 year old and husband the lady greeted the woman ahead of us with her young daughter that looked about 3 years old or so went above and beyond by giving the little girl a balloon but when it was our teen the lady did NOT greet us nor did she give my 3 year old a balloon even though my daughter cried the lady ignored my child. I was embarrassed to say something to the lady over a balloon that she bluntly ignored a 3 year old saying do I get a balloon too. The woman was either racist or just doesnt care about other cultures we are not asian but the lady ahead was. Will not be returning and I will be telling everyone about my experience here.

Great store but I had a negative experience last time I did a curbside pick up a few months ago. When I arrived at the pickup parking spot, two male employees were standing at the front corner of the store horking and spitting on the sidewalk while smoking (one of them was a heavy-set guy). This is very unprofessional and unhygienic, especially during the pandemic, as customers regularly walk on this sidewalk and grocery orders are brought out along this side walk. My father wanted to wait until these guys went back inside before calling for our order, as we were both disgusted by their spitting. As soon as they left to go inside, I called to pick up my order. I specifically told the person on the phone not to send the two guys who were smoking and spitting on the front corner and he said ok. I guess he ignored this request because the exact same heavy-set guy came out with my order (wearing sunglasses this time). I doubt that he even had enough time to properly wash his hands. We had to refuse the order because of this employee's unhygenic practices. Afterwards, I tried emailing T&T but there is a problem with the email form on their website, it is virtually impossible to communicate online with the store. I also send a direct message on facebook, explaining what happened but I did not receive a reply. I was eventually refunded, but I never received any acknowledgement regarding my complaint or an apology. I have also stopped receiving promotions from T&T (I guess they assume I no showed my order when I actually had to refuse it due to hygiene concerns involving this employee) I was a regular customer and I truly love this store, but this last experience was enough to turn us off of ordering from here. I strongly recommend having an area behind the store for employees to smoke. When they are smoking on the front corner, it looks unprofessional and it is technically illegal to smoke that close to a store. When some employees are spitting all over the place, it makes it even more off-putting.

T&T is just amazing. And in many ways. Hard to know where to start - their vast spacious produce area, fresh sushi platters, hot prepared dishes, in such a variety. Their prepared meals are really popular before dinner time. And variety extends in many ways ... for example ramen packages, that are delicious and available in so many flavours. Their bakery that includes egg tarts - various types at different times. They're incredibly health conscious and have been much stricter with their safety measures than any other grocery store by far. Staff is really helpful too. All of this makes me totally confident in shopping there, and makes me feel we're really fortunate to have this grocery store in Waterloo. Always a pleasurable experience and full of wonderful surprise treats to the palate.

I've been to this store a few times. I shop here often. I've had a few positive and negative experiences here. The negative is their Instacart employees. Instacart employees are the rudest people they have. I was with a employee asking him questions about a product, then this Instacart worker interrupts demanding where some products were located. He didn't even say excuse me or nothing while the employee was explaining the product to me. On another visit, the same thing happened again. The Instacart employee rudely interupted and asked for 5 to 6 items without even trying to look for the items themselves. Loblaws needs to train these Instacart employees better. Instacart needs to stop taking the employee's time from real customers who actually need assistance. I've been to other loblaws stores and Instacart employees do the same there too. A positive about the store is the variety of products. There are so many and a different variety. I love the seafood area and how they can cook your seafood for you to take home. The ice cream section is wonderful. I've never even seen or heard of these flavors before. I love the fruits and vegetables. The variety of dumplings is amazing. Overall there is always room for improvement. The check out line is too long sometimes. My experience here is great except for the Instacart employees.

Let me preface by saying that I enjoy shopping at this place even though it's a bit more expensive than New City Supermarket, that being said, HOLY FRACK is the PA system in the store broken or are they just masochistic? They have an announcement to encourage people to keep their distance due to COVID, but it's on a loop and playing constantly. They 'll play a message in English, then a message in Chinese with NO breaks in between OVER AND OVER AGAIN. It is pure auditory torture to be shopping in there right now, I'm surprised none of the workers there has gone stir crazy, because I usually spend about 10 minutes in there shopping and all I want to do is get the frack out of there. At first, I thought it was a one time thing and that they'll play it once every 10 minutes or so, but NOPE! Been there a couple times since and it's been the same each time. Like, I don't even know what's the point of looping that message CONSTANTLY, is this what the Uighurs are experiencing in the concentration camps in China right now? Is T&T trying to raise awareness of the brutality forced upon the Uighur population? If so, then congratulations T&T, you've gotten your point across. Thank you for raising awareness of the horrible conditions the Uighurs are facing in mainland China. For now, even though it's farther away, I'll be heading back to New City Supermarket to get my Asian groceries, because I like to not lose my mind when I go shopping. Plus New City has much better BBQ pork.

I just moved here from Toronto and was missing some of the regular Asian produce I m used to so I came here. Safe to say I’m never coming here again as my experience was terrible. My spouse and I got to the self check out and started scanning our items when the young lady there told us we both couldn’t scan and load our groceries as it was one person per cash. So we said sure, even though I have a disability and cannot lift certain items very well I tried my best. And even though literally every other couple checking out were checking out together...maybe because my spouse and I are not an Asian couple and we are interracial?? Then, I was buying bean sprouts, I accidentally selected the wrong type because I was entering it as per the sign they had in their produce section which turned out to be wrong. I felt like the employee was a accusing me of trying to steal or pay less for the bean sprouts but I was just trying to enter it as per THEIR signs...I told her why I entered it like that and didn’t believe me so she called someone from produce and I had to SHOW them where they messed up their own job..she didn’t say sorry or anything...really upset that I was pretty much treated like a criminal. Not coming here again

I am very unhappy with the service of this company. On Mother's Day, a huge sign was displayed at the entrance. The company offered me to spend $ 100 or more to get a $ 10 discount. But after receiving this coupon, I found additional conditions to obtain a discount. According 'new rools' I must to spend another $ 50 to get the promised discount. So I have to spend $150 but not $100 as indicated in the primary information. I'm sure this is wrong way to keep customers. It was my first visit to the store and I'm sure last one. Nice Asian supermarket in Waterloo. A little smaller than the GTA locations but it is a nice addition to the grocery stores available in the region and I will probably be back regularly. The food court area is nice but does not have as good a selection as I am used to from the Markham stores. Some of the check-out staff seemed to be struggling to keep up, but that makes sense considering the store has only just opened.

The majority of their stuff is unique to Asian supermarkets but they do have a few of the products I'm used to seeing at any old grocery store too. They have great produce and frozen meats and will kill and clean live fish so you can have them super fresh. They also have hot bar food that seems popular. This location is brand new so that might he why it is always crazy crowded.

Very well stocked. Huge selection of live seafood. Unique offerings not available elsewhere in KW. Staff is not very helpful, only the 3rd person I found could help. However that's the reality of going to an authentic Asian supermarket so I'm still giving 5 stars.

Finally a T&T here!! Kind of tiny ... To T&T Management, Is there no way to close the front door when it's too packed with people? Went there Saturday and I couldn't move my cart around, people were bumping into me, kids were getting hit by carts etc. It was very hectic and the isles were also full of people waiting in line to check out. So some isles were basically out of bounds. I would have enjoyed the shopping experience if the store wasn't so packed and hectic.

Nice and clean store with good variety of asian food and seafood. Lots of parking and convenient location. They also have ready to eat meals and a dine-in option as well. Live seafood is amazing.

Overly crowded. Should train staff better customer service skills. Terrible experiance. I will be contacting the manager. I hope to have some compliance. Or I will file a report. Awesome Chinese store, with a great selection of food and other Asian products, the live seafood tanks make visiting a fun experience in itself, seafood bar have great potential, but the price is a bit high now. finally don't have to go to Toronto for grocery shopping anymore.

Great selections on food. Love the easy access to hot ready to go meals. The prices are okay for the general produce items you would find outside a T&T supermarket but what can you expect. Overall nice!
