The Bakery is super cheap, and great. Big variety of vegetables, for a decent price. I was able to get some high quality tomato paste, and balsamic vinegar without breaking the bank. I honestly never knew this was an Italian grocery store, I would have been coming here more often. The name threw me off, but it's really good. They basically have everything. The one thing they could improve on is the fish department, not enough fresh fish.

They’re alright but for some reason they don’t carry cilantro or they never have it in stock? that’s a staple herb why would any grocery store not have it Also as another reviewer mentioned, they often have rancid meat on their shelves. I personally have bought meat from there that went rotten well before the best before date, and once I was buying chicken when the cashier smelled that it had already gone rotten as I was checking out. I wouldn’t buy any meat here if you can avoid it!

Just discovered this store not far from home (recently moved to Ottawa), and we are so happy. We are Italians, and this store is full of Italian products. In particular we love the selection of pasta; and the fresh bread is so great, even better than in many bakeries in Italy. We'll be regular customers.

Great selections with more hard to find stuff than the bigger chains. Better prices on the basics, plus it's shopping local. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is due to the bakery. Everything looks amazing but the bakery is a separate, CASH ONLY check-out. It's very inconvenient when the rest of the store uses one checkout and accepts debit/credit.

This place is a gem!! I moved to the area just a few days ago and was walking around the neighborhood when I spotted it. Nothing that grabs your attention from the outside. I decided to walk in and check it out. Wow!! Wow!!! It put an instant smile on my face. Everything is so fresh...the produce, the bread, the meat..and the variety of cheeses alone simply blew my mind. This is where I will be shopping for groceries from now on. :)

I live right across the street and they’re always having really good deals as well as having products a lot of mainstream grocery stores don’t carry in terms of snacks, drinks, and cheese for example. I decided to try a deli sandwich today and the worker made me a custom one because I only wanted spicy salami as the meat, it’s definitely worth the price, tasted really good.

So on a normal day I go here for my groceries. Today I didn’t want to make food so decided to try one of the deli made sandwiches and OH MY GOD!!! The best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life and it was HUUUGE!! So so so impressed !!! Will definitely be purchasing again!!! If you haven’t tried them yet you HAVE TO!! 5 plus stars!!

Cons: -Expensive -A lot of times they put a sale on something, and you check the original price and it's the same thing. Also, I wish they opened like an hour extra or something. The place is great for meats and cheese. Extremely fresh produce as well. They have many different brands from all across Europe and Asia. One thing I will note is that the customer service is not great. The cashiers will not say a single word to you, not even a hello. All in all, I would go again and recommend anyone to check it out. But, if any of the staff are reading this, please be more friendly towards customers, it really makes or breaks an experience!

This is a little gem hidden in an unassuming strip-mall. As a grocery store it has everything. The meat department covers everything; except perhaps the high unaffordable prices! They offer a huge variety of pastas, cheeses, and preserve. Very friendly staff as well. They close at 6:00pm.

I came here specifically for the “Italian Bakery”. What a disappointment. Almost every case was empty, and what little was available was less than appetizing. I have never seen an in store bakery with “cash only” at the till, either. I picked up some really nice parmigiana, and some lactose free ice cream, but I won’t be making a trip back.

I'm surprised how so many people have a good experience with the costumer service. I for one, havent experienced that myself. For example, multiple times when I have gone the cashier doesnt greet me, continues her conversation with the other cashier and I stand their awkwardly. I butt in and ask if shes open, a simple "ya". No have a good day, thank you for shopping with us, nothing. The place is good for grocery shopping, just wish the costumer service was a little more, in my experience.

Can’t beat their prices on fresh produce and meats. Their homemade Italian sausage is some of the best I’ve ever had. Their selection of pastas, fresh cheeses and deli meats is also excellent. The in-store bakery has some amazing deserts and breads of all kinds and their deli has the best sandwiches in the city hands down! It’s always busy but I’m surprised it’s not busier yet for the price and quality!

I'm surprised one of the reviews said that social distancing protocols are in place. First off, they do not clean the shopping carts at this location. They absolutely do not limit the number of customers in the store. I was there this weekend and the place was packed. Clearly they do not limit the capacity to 25%. They do have a good selection of cheeses and deli meats. However, I would not shop for regular groceries here as they charge substantially more than other food stores. Won't be returning.

Love this grocery store. The produce is always very fresh and often locally grown. An amazing selection of cheeses and the bread is fresh made. Good deals regularly. Never met the owner myself but the cashiers always give a genuine smile and are quick. Never had to wait long in line.

I have found expired cheese on their shelves, I’ve been sold a bag of moldy shredded cheese still within the best before date, I’ve purchased meat that went absolutely rancid within 24 hours of purchasing even though there was plenty of time left before the “best before” date. The last straw for this store was when I bought ground meat last week, cooked it the same day, and my stomach is only now feeling better. I’m willing to support local business, but Farmer’s Pick does not seem to care much about the health of those of us who support it. For the benefit of your health, I seriously recommend buying your meats and cheeses somewhere else.

I have been coming to this store frequently since moving to the area a few months ago. The produce is always fresh and the store's products are reasonably priced. However, everytime I get deli meat, I am served by an employee who comes off as rude and not willing to engage with customers. I brought my mother who is elderly and he was nothing but cold and unwilling to help her. English is not her first language and she left upset. He appeared to have a more senior role in the deli so he may be a supervisor or manager. He also had an overwhelming smell of cigarettes. Hygiene and customer service is awful.

Not so sure how Farmer's Pick can Guarantee 100 percent freshness when I purchased eggs one day and some were spoiled rotten then another day I purchased a couple sandwiches from the deli in which one had a long blonde hair in it and another day I purchased a box of clementines in which 3 were spoiled rotten.

There is no more consistent grocery store experience to be found - consistently great sandwiches, and consistently unfriendly staff. In the two years that I've been occasionally shopping here, the staff/cashiers has always proven to be the worst part of the trip. On today's venture, the cashier did not say a single word - not a "hello", or the price, or ask how I would be paying, as if it was an inconvenience to have to deal with a customer. Again, the sandwiches over lunch are outstanding, but the staff almost always sullies the experience.

As a local I buy all my food groceries here, shopping every two days. Surprised by comments about unfriendly staff - I have always found staff to be friendly, efficient and helpful. Having hand sanitizer at he exit as well as the entrance would be helpful. If you don't like crowds, avoid Sunday morning at opening time.
