Cozy little grocery store, the prices are similar to Foodland prices! Go straight to the back and you will find subs, croissant sandwiches and fresh pizza slices!! Awesome customer service, now I know where to go for lunch when I’m there!!

Went to purchase a coffee & snacks and the customer service was horrendous. Not only did they get my order wrong, they were not helpful at all. Since when is it sanitary to place your foot in the cabinet to prop the door open while you are using tongs to take the baked goods out? If you are so concerned about keeping people safe, perhaps you should focus on proper handling practices and efficiency with your service to get customers out the door instead of making them do multiple extra steps and wait unnecessarily while more customers come into your small space. Additionally, I would suggest you become familiar with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms Act. Your business policies do not supersede the rights of individual Canadians. Your staffs treatment of my husband who has a medical exemption was unacceptable with your ignorance of the legal rights of your patrons.

Absolutely incredible experience! Wasn't expecting such an amazing atmosphere and just so much to offer under such a small roof! We went to the deli restaurant and oh boy was that ever a treat! I cannot say enough about this place! I live in Barrie and my sister lives in Barkway. I go past Canoe whenever I go there. If you are looking for delicious baked goods on your way north. This is the place to get them. Their store baked cookies are to die for! As you walk through the store you notice this is not your average small town store. The prices on produce and general groceries are on par if not cheaper than big company super stores. Make sure to make your way to the back end of the store where you will find the deli with some of the best sandwiches/subs you will find this side of Toronto. I give Canoe two thumbs up and can't wait to stop in again. Oh I need to mention the staff is very friendly as well and you can tell they want to be there helping you find whatever it is you are looking for.

Unexpectedly found this location while attending a retreat at Pura Vida up the road. We were amazed at the variety of food available. The sandwiches were made fresh and delicious and the bakery was out of this world. We indulged in too much but enjoyed every moment. Totally worth looking for off the Hwy if travelling the area.

I love this store. Yes the prices are a bit higher than the grocery stores in near by towns but you pay for convenience and the simple friendly country side service. If you do the math it cost more in gas to go to town than to pay a couple extra bucks and have a shorter drive if you live in the area. Plus you won't get the same quality and service at metro or food basics.

Not cyclist-friendly. Needed some water after cycling for nearly two hours. Brought my bike into the store so it wouldn’t get stolen by leaving it outside. Was promptly yelled at by someone in the store to leave. Asked if I could just buy some water, and was ushered out by the same staff who yelled at me. Disappointing.

Visited today - Sept 3rd 2018 labour day Monday. This store had everything for last minute camping: Plastic cutleries/cups, paper plates, wooden stirring spoons, tongs, can-opener, firewood, ice, seasoned meats, produce, prepared food, bakery and deli. It's a store that really has it all. The hours are great as well for a holiday, 8am-6pm.

It's convenient but over priced on many items. Most cheeses are double the price they are at no frills. The selection of fresh ingredients are limited. A redeeming factor though is the bakery. Their baked goods are tasty and they serve good coffee.

I have been a customer for 7 years or so and the food is delicious and the service was very good. However, this year the service has changed. The staff seems bother to serve and it has been twice they picked the wrong items (turkey pie instead of beef and raspberry muffins instead or apple). Only found out later on.... If in doubt please ask to someone that knows, I pay for what I want not for your guess.

This is a real bakery!! Everything is fresh - the carrot cake is the best I’ve had. The banana cake is moist and delicious. Donuts, danish’s, the peanut butter brownie is other level heavenly. So many good things to choose from. And to top it off, it is also a high end coffee shop quality at very reasonable prices. A MUST STOP HERE if you are driving through Washago!

The Canoe has everything you could ask for - grocery, baked goods, coffee, and an amazing deli where you get your 10th sandwich free! Staff have been great throughout covid and I am thankful to have such a great store to support our local needs. Thank you to all Canoe Staff! However the hours are not the best closing so early on weekends. I would love to be able to come in and grab some items till 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday and even 10 pm on a Friday would be beneficial to your business and customers. Just like a typical grocery store they have everything you need and more!

Outrageous prices, you are better off crossing the road and going to the Muskoka Grocery variety store, they have most of the every day needs at almost half the price. Kraft dinner for example will run you almost 3 dollars a box, Campbell's Soups are almost 2 dollars. 5 dollars for a package of chicken wieners. They claim they bake their own bake goods in the store but they don't and a lot of the time it's more than a day old and stale. Again across the road is Hoopers gift and coffee shop. Much better pastries and great coffee, they DO make some pastries and pies in house and are great tasting, not to mention fresh sandwiches and great soups and chili. This store prays on the tourist crowd, avoid if at all possible!

Saw amazing professionalism watching the owner deal with a Q-Anon Anti Masker today. Kept calm, thought about his customers first and dealt with the guy without grabbing him and Chicken Winging him out the doors.. Which he deserved. It may be someone's right to not wear a mask, however that doesn't mean you have to have access to the store. You can be served curbside if you do not wish to follow a stores policy. I had to leave and didn't see how it all ended, but I was impressed..

Clean store and friendly staff....however, selection (especially for meat) is limited and items are overpriced (eg., cheese costs about twice as much as it does in Toronto). Good for accidetally missed items on the way up to our cottage but we generally avoid shopping here as groceries for the day for two people will run you up $50-$60.
