I don’t review grocery stores often but this place is phenomenal. Every fruit and vegetable you can think of fresh, with reasonable prices. They also have a great fish and meat counter. Unfortunately, the baked goods and packaged food selection isn’t great. My favourite of all is by the cash they have a great selection of exotic fruits. I always try to grab something new to try (picture included)

This is a great place for fresh food, I get my chicken from here, also fruits and veggies are cheap here. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because it taxes some produce, which is not what I'm used too. Also some items are cheaper in other stores. However it is a great bargain and if you buy in bulk, you don't have any taxes to pay

This store sells spoiled fish: cod fillet has strong ammonia smell to it, mackerel was thawed and frozen multiple times before they sell it, salmon has a sour, rancid smell to it on the day it was purchased.

I would've given it more than 5 stars if I could I literally found everything I was looking for and MORE ( fruit & vegetables wise) Large scallops????. I paid ONLY 1.99$ for a bunch of Aregula (sold in bunches instead of expensive 3.99$ plastic boxes (double the amount for half of the price)) Store is super clean and neat, staff is highly professional. For some items , it can be even more affordable than Walmart. Wide variety of fresh and Organic veggies and sea food to prepare some special dishes

I think a tad pricy, but products seem fresh, it's very straightforward and easy to find groceries you need. They sell meat in tiny portions as compared to other stores, so don't be fooled by the lower price, but it's good for people who don't want to buy a lot at once.

For years I have been shopping at Produce Depot. It's absolutely the best place to get fruit and veggies in the South end. Friendly folks, always great variety, Ottawa-owned company so you know your dollars are staying here in Ottawa, and they also have lots of great fish, deli and meat. You have to wrap your mind around not being able to bring your cart bask to the car, but it's well worth working around that for the savings and the feel-good factor. I love going there and I save SO MUCH money compared to the big chains. They also have amazing items like fresh turmeric, pickled turnips, sugar cane and many other specialty items you can't find in other places. It's a gem in the South end, and I have put tonnes of my clients onto it!

This is a family owned small business. They have superb quality as they take out everything less than perfect to donate to the foodbank. Apparently they donate tons per week. Because of the fact they are locally owned and have only a couple locations, you might think they do not have the buying power to offer good sales but this is not true: being small they can take advantage of low volume good deals the other stores can't. Some things may be more expensive but others are really good. The sales of the week for fruit and vegetables are good and they also have great deals on fresh meat and fish. They get really fresh and inexpensive pitabread. The store has an upscale feel to it but without the same cost as a much more expensive produce chain here in the city. The location at South Keys is larger and has a bit more. If you are looking for exotic fruits and vegetables ask them, they might bring them in for you or already have them. I know a few people who tell me that for their exotic cuisine needs this is the only place they can get what they need.

Food is almost always high quality and fully stocked. Prices are also always cheaper than other produce stores such as Farm Boy or Market Fresh. It's a great shop for 'naked' chefs. Complaints: Although I love this place for it's simplicity, my spouse isn't a fan because there's not as much 'haut couture' or rare foods such as German deli meats or pre-made foods. She also likes things like the hot bar at Farm Boy. She really likes the 'love' salami though! Recommend: More ready to eat/cook pre made stuff.

Produce is fresh for the most part, similar to farm boy but farm boy is a little better. Prices are competitive and acceptable. Nor the biggest fan of the parking or the fact that you can't take your cart beyond the front of the store. You either have to leave your cart at the front of the store, go to your car and bring it to the front of the store to load it, or you ditch the cart and carry all your groceries to your car no matter how far it is parked.

A great place for good quality fruit, vegetables, and fish. There is always a good bread on sale for $2. They have a great deli and also make very good sandwiches at a very reasonable price. You can also buy packages of deli ends and pieces at a good discounted price. Good selection of seafood including fresh shrimp, mussels, scallops and frozen as well.The also have a decent selection of meats. I also buy my corn tortillas and fresh herbs here. Good selection of hot peppers and of dry beans. This is my go to store for everything I list above.

For the compromise of better prices and on availability of produce comes the risk of no customer capacity limits, running out of stock on some items for long periods of time, and market manipulation. The careless hands on nature of this store and its limited hours almost certainly forces you to shop elsewhere for certain items, and I just can't recommend this as a first or final stop for quarantine shoppers.

Not wheelchair accessible. Going out the exit there's sections of fence/metal barriers. The gate is locked. So if you're using a wheelchair, or a walker, you'll have to wait for someone to unlock it. Which is inconvenient and could be uncomfortable to have to request to be allowed out. In addition it doesn't seem very safe in case of a fire.

I went during an evening, an hour before close. Store looked clean, hand sanitization stations at the front of the store, easily accessible upon entry. All staff had their masks on and even though it was at the end of shift, the ones I spoke to were polite and able to direct me to locate the few items I couldn't find on my own. Check out was speedy as well. I would go back, especially because they have such a large variety of vegetables and fruits. They looked fresh too.

Lives up to its name. One of the better places to buy produce without sacrificing an arm and a leg. The seafood department staff are always knowledgeable and friendly as well as the deli counter. The cuts of meat are good and well priced. Great selection of "less common produce" such as Thai basil, lemon grass and a variety of other "exotic" items. Parking lot situation isn't ideal as it is a bit small and can be cramped while busy. Overall, a great one stop shop for grabbing a few ingredients for dinner. Waits are usually minimal.

I have been coming to this store for almost a year now and this is the first time i’ve had a bad experience with a employee. I mostly come in for deli and one day I had waited in line for minutes without being served even tho there was a employee not doing anything. She is a tall, young black lady with long black hair and seems to wear a band-aid on her neck. Her costumer service is horrible, she didn’t say hello or answered any of my questions, all she did was stand in silence, i then had asked for 200 grams. She gave me 100 grams and when i told her i asked for 200 she proceeded to say “no” very quietly. Service was slow, costumer service was poor and i truly hope that lady does not serve me again. Luckily another employee came to help me because of her horrible service.

Produce Depot is a hidden gem. Everything is so fresh and high quality, and many of the prices are as good or better than large discount box stores. They also have far more produce variety than regular grocery stores, but are still a "one stop shop" with reasonably priced seafood, baked goods and meat. There's a fairly extensive deli section too.
