Great sale prices and available stock. EDIT: Since posting initial review it seems that this store can't keep stock of food for my dog. He is a large breed, and I was put onto the Authority Large Breed food by store manager. After the first time I bought it, I could rarely find it in stock on the shelf. Sometimes it would be in their back room with TONs of other stuff that obviously needs to be put out, more often they didn't have any at all, forcing me to go to another brand and putting my dog through upset stomach with the change. I switched to another brand on a sales persons recommendation when I mentioned that I can never find the house brand on the shelf that is more expensive, but she said is better managed for stock levels. I'm now having the exact same issue, when I need it, that one is never on the shelf either.

I got my puppy groomed today (first grooming ever) and he came back looking clean, (smelled like wet dog, no nice scent?) and was shedding a lot, but that's because I didn't get an extra "furminator," which was quite a price difference! I noticed two cuts on his right arm which were not there before the appointment. I am slightly concerned that the groomer cut him accidentally and didn't tell me about it. (I would not have been angry as he wasn't in pain) I'm slightly unimpressed with the grooming itself though, the only thing you may notice are his nails, which I also had to pay extra for smoothing them out. I do wish they would have cut the fur on his legs as I asked for, and used a nicer smelling shampoo as he just stunk up the car with his "wet dog scent." I love PetSmart, but I don't think I'll be going there for grooming again :(

The dog training at the North Bay PetSmart is AMAZING! Our trainer is so knowledgeable and makes each class upbeat and fun and gives personal attention to each dog's issues. She's also been flexible about making-up missed classes. Also, the PetSmart learning environment is great for young dogs - and potential therapy dogs - because it exposes them to so many other dogs, people, smells and busyness in a public place. I highly recommend dog training at the North Bay PetSmart.

This place is great. There's literally so much stuff here for all different kinds of furbabies. From cats, dogs, fish, birds, gerbils, hamsters, mice, so so much more. If you can't find what you need there is always at least one or two employees around. It's not a lot of workers but it's a pet store. Lol. I love looking around for whatever I'm looking for because I always end up getting something more. ???????? A lot of people probably don't like that but I, personally, love it. And just before you leave there are loads of cookies for your puppers right beside the cash register. I always get my girl one or two of those. And you can buy a tag for your cat or dog. There's a lot to choose from, male or female ones. And you also get to choose what goes on the tag. You can put their name on one side and your info on the other. It doesn't coat that much either. This is an amazing store!

I love our Petsmart, they have everything we need for our fur baby and the staff is so nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Our puppy loves the Authority brand food and can always find a new toy when he visits. I will never have my dog grommed here, I was treated so rudely when I requested a nail trim for my puppy I would hate to see what happens if I ask for a bath.

Today I went in to get food for my cat and heard one of Pet Smart's trainers telling a group of new puppy owners not to spay/neuter their pets. They said that vets don't know what they are talking about, that spaying and neutering affects your dogs development, and more. This is BLATANTLY untrue. It has been proven scientifically over and over that this is untrue. And if we forget the animals dying in shelters due to a low spay/neuter rate, pets can have serious health issues from not being spayed or neutered. I've known dogs that have died from uterus infections. Hope PetSmart deals with this issue promptly. Such blatant misinformation cannot be spread to owners from a place of trust.

The neon tetras I bought from here were so incredibly malnourished, all of their colours were completely faded, they looked almost albino compared to my current neon tetras, one I noticed had developed a bent spine from poor nutrition. I thought they had neon tetra disease at first because that's how sickly they looked. When the faded colour was pointed out we were told "oh, that's just the bag messing with their colour, you'll see their colours when they're in the tank" Employees need to stop lying to customers. I've only met one person working in the fish section who was completely honest with me when it came to questions about fish. She had no problem telling me what she did and didn't know instead of feeding lies to me. If your employee doesn't know, don't make them lie to us. I'd rather hear "I really don't know" versus "oh its all good" and suddenly have twenty dead fish at home. When you're fish are sick, you don’t put them up on discount. If you're going to discount SICK neon tetras due to your own negligence, that is something a customer NEEDS TO KNOW!!!!

I'm new to North Bay and my mom surprised me with a fish as a gift so I would have some company while living up here. My fish, at the time of purchase, had a problem with its swim bladder. It's too inflated and has pretty much crippled the poor thing. My mom wasn't aware of the issue when she bought him (being new to care-taking bettas) and we only noticed he was sick a day after purchasing him. Since then, I've been trying everything I can to remedy him (fasting him, feeding him skinned peas), but it's gotten to the point where he floats (almost literally) lifelessly at the surface of the tank unless prompted to do otherwise. It is very, very difficult to get him to eat. I'm hoping he makes some sort of recovery, but if he can't, I'm hoping that I can at least try my best to make life okay for him before he dies. TL;DR: These guys sold us a betta fish that is severely sick and I will not let his memory be in vain.

If I could give negative stars I would! This north bay location does not take care of their fish properly! When you bring up an issue they blow it off and lie through their teeth! Within a week I’ve had 8 guppy’s from their store die. I purchased Rosie minnows from them like they told me to as feeder fish for my oscars, within 48 hours after eating the Rosie minnows my oscars died!!!!! They only do water changes on their tanks once a month! They are supposed to do daily water changes!!! Terrible store!! They don’t deserve anyone’s money! Don’t worry, head office will be called as soon as they open!

I've been a regular at this location, and since this guy started working there; I've not only been profiled and harassed for months every single time I go in. So of course I didn't feel comfortable so left without getting any of what I needed, leaving empty handed every time he was working there. Then the final straw was a few weeks ago, I didn't see him at 1st and was like finally I can actually shop, I'm about to check out with my item and he shows up and starts threatening me and accusing me of things. I ended up in the emergency after this, the staff there lately make things super uncomfortable, and it's not a safe atmosphere anymore, never had issues before. I will be taking action on this, the behavior is truly disgusting. It took my a long time to find the courage to write this, it replays in my head, like another trauma memory (I'm disabled, and have PTSD, so having someone following me around etc. and then become aggressive towards me was horrible).

I went in that god forsaken store and had a terrible experience like is the staff friggen high? I could not believe how they treated me and my friend, just with complete ignorance. I'm just a fish starter like I expect some frigging decency. Yesterday I was a calm fish beginner and today im a very angry fish owner. I would rather buy fish off the back of a friggen truck. I was 5 minutes late and as I was pulling into the parking lot I received a call saying my appointment had been rescheduled for being 7 minutes late, the call was placed at 12:06PM so that was clearly not true. I explained that I was In the parking lot and that I would be right in, I was told that because I was late that I couldn’t use my appointment and that I would have to reschedule. When I called management, he explained that there was a 15 minute waiting period and this wasn’t something he was aware of. Nothing was done or offered to remedy the situation. My previous experiences have been not great because the staff complained about my 4 month old puppy not liking the blow dryer and being difficult to deal with. If you’re not equipped to handle puppies, don’t offer the service. Super unhappy with Brianne and the staff here, won’t be back.

Very disappointed with lack of knowledge demonstrated by this Store with regards to lizard care. They do not sell Calcium without Vit D3. I was told the reason was because many people were not purchasing it. So apparently, education is not something this store feels is important. The girl stated, 'You can put it in their water', my only problem is that many of the lizards do not drink ' water ' from a dish and am not about to start spraying their body and face with calcium water. These people , if selling lizards, need to provide the proper supplements to keep them healthy.

Its a large brand pet store. Good for cats and dogs, and hit it miss on small animals/fish depending on who is in the department each day. Has most of the things ive needed and the staff try even if they dont know the right answear right away which isthe best you can hope for

This past weekend, I took my dog to get groomed, when I came to pick him up the store manger pulled me into his office which I was very thrown off by. From there he told me that they had to take my dog to the animal hospital because he got a cut by his eye while getting groomed. He then said we are going to have to transport him there ourselves ASAP. As I was in such shock that this could happen at such a well known pet store, that they should have groomers who have professional training for all types of dogs. I told him that he will not be taking my dog anywhere until I see him. When they brought him from the back of the salon, there was blood all over his face, way more then too be expected. From there he was taken to the vet where Petsmart covered the cost of the bill as they should. Thankfully my dog didn't need surgery to fix the damage to his lower eyelid. He nows has to wear a cone for two weeks and go for a follow up hoping things heel properly. I will not be going back to petsmart to get my dog groomed, they need to hire professional groomers and have the proper harness to keep dogs still.

We tried to get a kitten for my 5 year old daughter for her birthday,she had picked the one she wanted and even named her. 1 week later finally get a phone call(3 days after her birthday)we were informed that we could not adopt be cause we might leave it outside!!!its they’re strick policy that no cat should leave the house and go outside. We have a cat and dogs that go out and have never been in any harm what so ever. They are actually pretty happy pets . Not recommended for adoption and you have lost a customer for life.

The groomers in the North Bay store are simply amazing and our larger older dog needs some special attention..... we bring her in looking a bit shaggy and she comes out like a “princess” lol. They really do an excellent job with bathing, double-coat hair trim and clipping and filing nails. It’s a busy place but staff are always pleasant and friendly and we have taken our pet there many times over the years and have always been very happy with the results. Thank you!

I had my dog groomed at PetSmart today and he was treated like a little prince. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The power went out part through the process so we had to leave but once power was restored, they called us back to squeeze us in to finish the appointment. The power failure was inconvenient but no fault of PetSmart. We will definitely be back.

Normally I love coming to PetSmart for all of their toys, accessories and good deals. But I had a very bad experience. I have a hedgehog who I buy mealworms for. Normally, I get them from somewhere other than PetSmart, but this time the usual person I buy from was out. I picked some up from PetSmart. I began feeding them to my hedgehog who was initially fine. About a day after eating some, he got really bad diarrhea and green, slimy poop. This usually means a bacteria infection for hedgehogs. It did not resolve itself and I had to bring him to the vet a couple of days later and get him checked out, a stool sample done and ultimately have to syringe feed him medication for about a week now and hope he gets better. I've been told in the past not to buy bugs from PetSmart for the poor quality, but never thought they'd be so bad as to make my hedgehog very ill. I don't think I'll be returning.
