This Fruit Store is classified in the category of Grocery store.
Easy to find items, clean and very friendly staff
Just as good as any other Sobeys. Clean and tidy. Never seen much staff around the store..
Best Sobeys in town. I was really impressed by the customer service especially in regard to their employees are who always seem to wear a smile and ready to assist your every need. Absolutely loved the Deli Department best samosas I’ve had.
Convenient Grocery for all customers. Friendly staff. You can find out most of the products there. International sections are also available. And a wide range of Dairy, vegetables, and of course, near to bus stop.
Going their for a while.nice people
Great staff wonderful service wrm friendly staff
You don't sell cannabinoids that it's this place at four out of five
Nice small grocery store with all we need. I prefer it to the larger ones.
This store suffers from poor management, because of this i have noticed a huge difference with this store compared to other chains and also other sobey's stores I shop at. For one thing they do not hold to what the flyers state,if you think you can go buy a full stick of bologna that was advertised as on sale think again, they get it and cut it up to sell for more. My wife has a rain cheque for over a year now and hasn't been able to buy a single full stick, there are countless other points on that topic alone such as terrible selection of comparative foods. Just go check the freezer section for burgers, breaded chicken products etc...it's laughable. The one star i gave is for the great staff.
My
Staff is consistently friendly and helpful. They have chocolate covered jujubes! They usually have the free run eggs and soy milk that I go there for. They carry Silver Hills (sprouted wheat) bread, and lot's of gluten free breads. Produce section seems smaller than other supermarkets.
Super clean and organized! That crowd has it together!
Great supermarket with an even better NLC store. Great location for the downtown crowd.
Staff is great. Amazing customer service.
My wife and I from Winnipeg are in Newfoundland with our four grand kids. We rented a house which is slightly over 1 km from this Sobeys. This store is convenient for us so we have been to it every day to date. The store has everything that we want. The service is excellent.
Best supermarket in town. I wish I can find more vegetarian options.
Excellent place for daily life shopping.
One of the best supermarkets in the city. Plenty of choices.
Pretty small sobey's. I usually go there if I am in a rush cause it's close to my house. A lot of times they don't have certain produce in stock.
Clean and well stocked with a large selection
Good selection. Friendly staff.
Typical Sobeys experience. Good selection.
It's a decent grocery store. The vegetables are often lacking in quality. The staff are helpful if not the most cheerful looking bunch.
It's a good store, it doesn't have quite the selection that dominion has, and has hand sanitizer and directional lines.
Well played out center of the city, starting to build out speciality and organic section
Great prices, flyer specials are usually in stock and very friendly staff.
What can I say or do about this place? Grocery shopping do not exist for me anymore because everything is gone threw the roof for All Food and it is truly Sad that I can't afford to buy any food ????. But unfortunately I'm not the only one who is Starving.
A busy spot for sure, great staff including my son that works there . Sometimes they have good sales and its kept clean & organized.
Another day, another Sobey's. Clean, well stocked, fast lines. So sure they're a bit more expensive than Walmart but it's worth it. Some actually pretty decent baked goods (and I'm from France so i'm used to good bakeries). Cake service was good both times I used it. Also, this one is right between downtown and MUN, so good location ! Nice big parking lot too, though careful it does get icy during winter. Definitely recommend it.
Nice food. Nice staff. The elderly are more hostile there.
Nice grocery store with a liquor store attached
Pleasant Staff. Usually well stocked with hard to find find food items. Quiet times for people with Autism and seniors. Plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessible.
Extended hours are a good feature during the Dominion strike
Good location, parking, and good selection
Young staff didn't know where what I wanted was. I had to find older staff who did.
Staff is awesome! However compared to other Sobeys the selection is poor.
As good as grocery stores get I suppose. Clean, always well stocked, friendly people working there. It however is a little more pricey then Dominion or Superstore.
We recently ordered the large wrap tray for a small gathering and they were absolutely delicious. It was a great option for a very fair price and it was done super quickly as it was a last minute order. We did ask for some vegetarian options which were not included, otherwise the order was great and was the perfect amount of food.
Nice prices Lack of vegetables It has a Liquor Store nearby
It was a great experience everyone was super friendly and helpful!!!
Celebrity Sobeys? The selection is decent, and you may run into a local celebrity.
Clean. Not crowded. Mostly has what I need.
Has a decent variety. Nice location too.
Huge collection. Price is competitive. Overall a good neighborhood grocery.
It's a standard Sobeys. But they've made efforts to have a nice international food section which has some cool choices.
Friendly staff, have most everything, and the produce is better than most.
Just the right side grocer, pedestrian friendly in winter, friendly fishmonger, helpful produce staff.
Fresh and quality product get easily
It is clean bright with good deals and good people
Always friendly staff, great selection, sunny days!
Great neighborhood supermarket, with a large variety of food. Usually have what you need, good parking lot. Only really bad thing is that they have odd Sunday hours, closing Sunday evening.
Good grocery store conveniently located for downtown B&Bs.
A nice sobey's with attached liquor store!
Not a big selection of fruit/vegetables especially the trays :(
This Sobeys has easily one of the best fish sections in the city, also the second best grocery store bakery in town after Belbin's (not the best bakery mind you, nothing beats Georgetown Bakery, just best grocery store bakery). Everything else is good in this Sobeys, but the frozen dairy section is pretty weak with poor selection and usually badly stocked, the one weak part of a solid neighborhood grocery store.
This place has a decent location. And a liquor store. They are also small so for that reason they alsolose a star.
Friendly staff, fair prices and great vegetation.
A Regular Grocery store shopping visit. Good verity of food here.
Grocery store at a comfortable location with ample parking space. Things are bit costly when compared to Dominion and Costco. Not so crowded. You've some Indian items sold there.
Good selection of quality products. Wonderful to see a large array of local produce. Such beautiful bunches of beets, on my most recent visit. There are health-ish foods, including a very good kombucha from Nova Scotia, Cove. There ar also some British sweets, and heritage Canadian brands of biscuits and such. Fun. Strange and disappointing, though, that the wholesome / eco-friendly items, like a fair trade chocolate bar ($3.99), are more expensive than a large box of’cookies ($2.50). Says more about our food systems than anything, tho.
Horrible GF prices for someone who is Celiac. Prices increase substantially from one Canada Pension pay period to the next. Since my income doesn't change, I have no choice but eat less & less.
The pharmacy staff are extremely helpfull with explaining medication usage. If not in stock, they will order it in for you.
Location is pretty good for MUN students and you can get pretty much anything you need.
This is a very nice supermarket, the staff is kind and helpful, fruits and veggies always fresh and they have pretty much everything you need.
Good prices, friendly staff, clean store
Best Grocery store in the city, you can find things at this store that you cant find anywhere else in St. John's.
Awesome staff. They recognized my desire to get some essentials and helped me along. Thank you you for all the help ladies.
Some of my favorite foods is available here
I had to make two actions on bank cards for tampons over 4 cents they wouldn't let me off with two cents I had to make another transaction on a bank hours two different bank accounts cuz I was 4 cents under cost
Gorgeous place and friendly staff.
Love the collections here. Their meat sales are pretty good!
Fresh and different things to try!
Clean store and friendly staff. At merrymeeting road.
Well stocked and nice staff! Lines for checkout look long but go quickly
Going there for last four years.. always organized.. Tuesday is best for students as you get 10% discount
As with most places in NL, vegetables are way overpriced although they do try to compensate with some BOGO deals. Overall selection of goods is average.
Would rate zero stars if I could, staff are rude and judgmental, don’t expect good service if your under the age of 18. Treat students horribly, clearly the “undercover shoppers” have nothing better to do harass students during the lunch hour.
they did not accepted olde 5$ bills..
Always a nice store to shop in.
Overall good, could up there choices, especially in the deli.
Best buys around, just moved in St. John's , tried a few different places & never got the food for the amount I spent Good job! Looking out for your sales!
Good produce. Nice lunch counter. Washrooms are a little iffy.
Fairly large grocery store. Health food section.
Mixed bag of people. Some helpful, other not. Normally can find what I'm looking for.
They need motorized carts for people who can't walk far
large new sobeys with everything you could want.
Love Sobeys Merrymeeting Great service good produce and LIQUOR STORE
Small store with limited selection. Biggest issue is that there are never enough lines open, so be prepared to wait for a while to pay.
Friendly helpful staff and a well stocked, clean store with a good selection of vegan products.
Pure garbage--lack of selection--high prices--even the sobeys on Elizabeth has a better selection---legit, go to the dominion
Poor attitude from front end management. The rest of the cashiers are phenomenal!!
Go to supermarket for downtown. Usually have everything I want but sometimes could have a better selection in the meat department.
Fast checkouts. Pricing on some items like yogurt not honoured at checkout.
It is good place to purchase grocery and dairy products, and better rewarding air miles.
Prices are too high. Hand sanitizer always empty have to use spray from carts.
Most notable is that the store connects indoors to a very large liquor store, government owned.
Always well stocked.
On last visit, I ripped my tire in the parking lot.
Gotta go on tuesdays to get a 10% discount with student ID and air miles
Couldn't find makeup or other basic pharmacy items I'm used to. Walking distance to dt so not bad.
Not one of the larger Sobeys there are larger and more feature rich stores within a couple of kilometers
Nice well stocked and clean location
Dandy place to shop they did upgrades recently and the stores looks amazing
Our regular grocery store. Very good selection. Prices are on par. Friendly staff
Basic grocery store with nothing out of the ordinary. The produce seemed to be a little old.
Laid out like most Sobeys with a few differences
They just need to get Halal food section for Muslims in St. John’s, NL
Clean store. Lots of staff to help us find what we were looking for.
Visit their liquor store for Screetch great selection
Love it close to home ... staff are really nice
We are visiting from B.C. We easily found everything we were looking for. Our cashier Agnes was friendly and capable. The store wasn't very busy so she had a very helpful conversation with us about what we could see in St. John's. We really appreciated her time and attention.
Great place for groceries
The stated phone number brings you to Sobey's, Ropewalk Lane. The correct phone number is 726-2242.
Nice lady at the billing counter. She helped me to find Wheatley (fine wheat) .we had veg pizza .the lady at this outlet also very nice and kind. I feel at home.at this Sobeys. Thank you.
Great store , with a good produce section. Almost everything in the produce section is always fresh, the prices are decent with lots of sales happening to help as well as having a student discount day . One thing lacking in the store is there are not a lot of vegans options in the freezer section
Ok.l would like to see products consistent for availability. Asidefrom this sobeys has and is myfavorite grocery store.
Wonderful place.. friendly people work there .. lovely.. the isles are all labeled .. even a pharmacy area is around the back corner.. love it.. love my Pringles and cold fried chicken . Lol
Just a usual grocery store. A bit pricy as compared to Dominion. You have to watch for the deals otherwise you will be paying too much
Good selection, nice baked goods, plenty of international foods .
Small outlet, but neat and clean.
A favorite. My mother prefers the French baguette bread there. She says it's the best she has found. I am happy that they carry the pocket size soy milks as those are not always available.
Great service. Excellent meats. Reasonable prices.
Great customer service, staff were always helpful.
Great selection and quality of foods
Clean neighbourhood store I like their rotisserie chicken and cooked ham. It has a well staffed pharmacy
One of the employees here is racist,He is responsible for managing meat
It's a grocery store. Some very friendly staff and good variety. Great in store bakery.
I went there 2 days ago, on the 19th of March 2019. Amongst $102:68 I spent there, i bought 4 pork chops in a tray. Yesterday when I tried to wash them to start cooking, I realized the other side in the tray of 3 of the pork chop, were green, sticky and smelling. I quickly called them to complain. The lady I spoke to, said I must bring the receipt and the product. When I went to look for the receipt, I realised that that cashier who checked me out, didn't put in my receipt in any of the bags. So I lost $7 of my groceries and nothing I can do now. They ruined my dinner, because clearly the packaged the pork, knowing it was spoilt or someone isn't monitoring or inspecting their products properly.
The "made in store" items are reliably marked down when the shelf life is about to end. Exactly what I'm looking for in a grocery store.
Pleasant and helpful staff. Most foods available.
good value groceries at Sobey's today.
Sometimes they have huge pieces of ginger
Very nice people and great variety
Nice store.but being next to a school .makes the back side of property dirty.and where the kids park.they thrown trash around.and the meat prices are crazy high.other then that it's a ok store.
Quick visit to pick up a few items. Clean and efficient stop
Everything with good price. Also good sales. Has liquor store too.
I like sobeys my friends work their and it in my old neighborhood
Poor parking due to hockey game in the arena next door.
Brilliant! They went above and beyond to make it easier for shoppers while under this State of Emergency!!
This store is walking distance from lots of residential neighborhoods. The variety of fresh produce is limited. Most of the sale products is sold out by early afternoon. Pharmacy section is small with limited variety. Staff is very helpful and courteous. You must bring your own bag as the plastic bags are not available in the store at all any more.
I like this supermarket. It's clean, with friendly staff, and I can always find what I need.
I was looking for a specific item and the only place that carried it was Sobeys. So I also did some grocery shopping while I was there.
24hrs. Need I say more. Lol I work shift work, overnights. Love that I can go here anytime and get what I need.
Looked for items were available and reasonably priced
It's a good place for shopping, good prices
Great place and the liquor store at the other side
Very excellent place to shop friendly services ????
We've only been in Newfoundland for about a week and we've gone to Sobeys atleast 3 times already. As a Supermarket it has everything we needed, the staff is friendly and it is clean and well kept.
Big store and staff were friendly and helpful. Prices are okay and lots of free parking out front. Good location and not far from downtown and close to where we stayed. Will even cook lobster for you while you shop. If you are starting in the area, this is a good place to visit to pickup some food as it's cheaper than eating out all the time. Did not notice any international food though.
Decent but not great selection, produce area always disorganized, sale items typically stocked
Excellent service. All checkouts open
It was very good place for shopping.
Slow but fine selection of food
Pretty good grocery store with low traffic in peak times
Freshest produce in the city if you can't go toma farmers market
Nice store!
Good selection. Found one item(Turkey breast) I couldn't find elsewhere. Not busy just right for a quick in and out shopping experience ????
The locals say one Sobeys HAS food...the OTHER ONE dosent. We went to no food apparently.
Beautiful store with beautiful fresh produce. Great variety to choose from.
Very nice bakery. quick service
