I really dislike how the so called sales are buy two and get one free I am grateful for how they are looking after the customers during the covid pandemic. However it is a shame that sobey's bought Safeway out. I lived in Langenburg Saskatchewan for 2 years and I had problems with the store in yorkton. After that I would not darken the door way of the dirty store there.

Good clerks at the few checkouts they open, but it has deteriorated overall in the last two years. No small carts, often out of stock of basic items, & out of date products still on the shelves. Very poor management, unaware of who their customers are: mostly seniors or small families. Very frustrating.

I purchased 28 trays of food for a memorial service. The staff at the Deli were extremely helpful and kind. They took my order over the phone and had everything prepared on time. They helped load up our vehicles and ensured that everything was properly placed. I’m so thankful for how easy it was to work with this location. I feel the store overall improved in many ways after the Sobeys takeover, such as the quality of produce and meats. The cut fruits (especially papaya, watermelon, and melons)are always a gamble; sweet one day, and crunchy, tasteless another. Service overall is “meh”, but I say that for all Safeway stores I’ve been to.

We shop almost exclusively at Safeway. People are swell, selection is great. What's not to like? 5 stars if they focused a little more on ethic food, wholesome/organic food and foods for people with dietary restrictions (celiac, diabetic, vegan). Its not that they dont carry some of these things, but it's usually a tiny section tucked away...

This one is one of the cleanest Safeway I've been so far, The place is huge, and you can purchase pretty much anything. Bakery with a fresh pasty and bread, of course. Variety selections of fruits and vegetables, Meat selections if good too, Pharmacy is also there, and if you get tired of shopping you can rest with the Starbucks coffee, which is placed inside the Safeway beside to cashiers. And you can play Lottery too.

always rude at this store... Makes a big deal about slicing bread for me on several occasions.... Won't make up value pack cookies packages when they're out. Argued with me about taking back produce that went bad within 2 days . and this time I went to pay and punched in my PIN code and it said approved and the cashier argued that it did not go through and I had to spend 10 minutes arguing the fact and had to bring up my online banking statement to show it did... All for two jugs of orange juice.... Safeway used to provide better customer service but I might as well go to a discount grocery store to get cheaper prices and shitty customer service!

This was a quick in-and-out visit and I found what I want and need. Some shelves areas are a bit disorganized, but nothing too difficult to figure out. Everything generally is reasonably well stocked and organized. The store is clean, with good signage, and everything you expect to find in a grocery store today. There's also a good level of staffing on the floor, so if you need help, it should be possible to get it.

They seem to stock shelves on Fridays so it can be a bit hit and miss for chips and soda water etc. A good location except the entrance to the car park and the proximity to the entrance causes customers to dart across the road and it can be a bit of a hazard when the big delivery trucks arrive ( it's better to just street park around the back).

Unfortunately this review is not regarding Safeway in general however Johanne Hui. The pharmacist… Is dishonest (which was verified), and makes horrific judgment calls. I truly believe if well-being, safety and health isn’t the MAIN focus of a pharmacist’s duties they should never be held in the position. I, personally will be going to another pharmacy as she lied saying my husband was racist? (not logical as they are the same race) a customer should be able to express disappointment without labels. Good to know we have plenty of options to avoid neglectful employees however Safeway as always is and remains a wonderful shopping experience regardless of incompetency. Perhaps a properly educated pharmacist in “judgment calls” is in desperate order as we rely on them for fundamental duties.

Today, I visited Safeway. My main purpose was to buy bread for peanut-butter and jam sandwiches for my two sons' lunch. Upon arrival, I turned left towards the bakery section, and promptly arrived at several stands of bread. The air smelled delicious. I selected two loaves. They both felt soft, and looked very tasty. I brought them to the self check-out. There was no line. I scanned them, used my AirMiles card to gather the token points, then used my Visa card to pay. The tap feature seemed to jinx, so I was prompted to use the chip. I did so. I then left the store without delay. It was painless and easy. 4 out of 5 stars.

Safeway has always been one of my favorite grocery stores. However, this particular location lacks some standards such as a clean restroom. First, why that big of a store has only one washroom (one unisex) that makes customers to line up in front of it. As with everyone, I struggled last year. I found myself displaced with no home, living in my car. My young nephew passed away last summer and I had a stroke, which led to the discovery of a hole in my heart which I, await surgery for. I was blessed with a gift card for Safeway, from friends who celebrated that I now have a new home in the area. Every visit to this Safeway, finds me greeted with exceptional customer service! Theresa has a brilliant memory and I always find help when I need it. My daughter died right before Christmas ten years ago and so I struggle shopping for groceries during the holidays. Once at the till, Ray was wonderful at serving me! Upon giving my gift card, I was still $64.11 short on my food bill. A complete stranger, handed over her card and paid for the rest! In times where it's hard to focus on joy, random acts of kindness and incredible staff at Safeway remind me; of the beautiful purpose of sharing and caring of others!

It is a grocery store. Nothing special. They need more self-service check-outs. I shop here often and the self-service is frequently busy and you have to wait. This visit, i was there when it was very busy and only 4 self-service check-out stations isn't enough. Almost a 10 minute wait to buy my milk.

Alarmed by what a potential Covid hazard this store is. At least 6-7 people walking around maskless, barely any distancing, while I was at the checkout in a space marked for one person, three people (one with no mask) were far less than an arm's length pushing ahead and crowding the narrow path. What a mess. No security counting number of customers to avoid crowding. Won't be back even though this is the store on my way home. A lot of people seem to have no regard for workers who ensure we can have groceries or their fellow community members. On a positive note, the clerks are generally helpful and quick.

Popped in to get last minutes roses for my wife (v-day). Busier than usual at the floor shop but the ladies were super friendly like most Safeway staff. I like this Safeway. Parking also plentiful and wide.

I've been shopping here for a decade, it's always been a pleasant experience interacting with the staff here. Everybody is very down to earth and polite at this location, whether their shift is just starting or ending. The store is well kept and organized, and I have an easy time finding anything I require thanks to a clean and consistent layout. Prices are competitive with the big W and always beat the pants off of Save-On. Anybody having a bad experience here is most probably suffering from a hanger episode and could use a bite to eat, or just has a bad attitude with other people.

One of the worst experiences at a grocery store and it is 100% managements fault. There is no fault to be had with the workers at the time who had to deal with the unfair situation. To the poor staff members who had to apologize to each customer because of your managers I am sorry. Management learn to schedule enough staff. For 5 items I had to wait in line for over 8 min. Could I use self checkout? No because your employee closed it just as I got to the line. Learn to do 2 things better. 1 learn how to properly staff your store and if you cant hire enough staff, a manager better be present. 2 train you staff to be rational. If someone has 5 items and its a choice between holding off on closing the self checkout to allow one more person to get through at a timely matter, or making them wait behind 2 people with full carts. keep the damn self checkout open

I have received in total a number of covid exposure alerts from Safeway-from UFCW 1518. Total of alerts (11) all together within 11 months. (8)of these alerts have been within the last 1 1/2 months . These alerts for covid exposure at Safeway have gotten me very concerned for the safety of the public. This place needs to be evacuated and sprayed down ! Grosssss I won’t shop there . Too risky!

One of the few remaining Safeway stores and one of the best. Selection is great, and the sale prices are as good as Superstore or Save-on. On a recent visit most items I bought were on sale such as blocks of Kraft cheese which were cheaper than the other big stores' prices.

WORST SAFEWAY IN CANADA . The employee punched me in the face at 4 25 pm friday December 20th 2019 and vandalized my car in front of the store. And was also bragging about how he was making 90 000 dollars a year. I tried to call the store general manager named josh to make a complaint and was clearly not interested in understanding what happened but was trying to protect his employee and made it sound like he was innocent. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE AT ALL COST. There is zero customer service from this location they are hiring anyone out of desperation as they are currently low on staff members.

The employees don't seem to have good attitudes either, I had someone at the deli complain to me while serving me that the deli was open too late and she didn't want to be there.

Location is in a plaza with plenty of parking. There's a Starbucks in the store. Makes for easy coffee runs while grocery shopping. I wish the carts had drink holders for the coffee. Otherwise, the location has a great selection of produce and food.

Rented a rug doctor from them when we got it home it still had liquid in it and had to clean it before use. When we took it back they said it wasn’t clean enough so we could take it home and clean it but that would have been late a lose our deposit or they would clean and lose our deposit . So they got to keep our money. I’ve a 30 plus year regular customer but I will never set foot inside there stores again . Hopefully my friends and family follow .

Friendly, clean, good location, ample parking, and u can get a smootihe from booster juice next door, pizza, or subway. Or Starbucks inside safeway, if closed, the one outside is open till around 10pm I think. You can always find a manager on duty. I think most Safeway's now are standard in the their layout and selection.

Had the rudest service ever in the deli department when I was ordering a sandwich. The lady acted like I was inconveniencing her simply because I asked for a panini that wasn't already pre-made, then she proceeded to slap everything together angrily and mash the damn thing practically into a ball. Sad thing is this is not the first time I've had this treatment from this specific woman and I will not be returning the this location ever again.
