I like Persia Foods markets because they have the most fresh foods and rich products options. I rated 4 stars because I do not like only one thing in this store: shopping carts. That green small carts almost every time are dirty. Especially during this pandemic time I hesitate to touch them. Please separate clean and dirty ones and sanitize them for serving clean and healthy environment to customers. Thank you.

The grocery was not bad, but the worker very rude. I purchased water melon which is $0.49/ pound. Total 19.2 pound.But they charged me as Hami melon $0.79/ pound. When I went second day for shopping I told the cashier and show the receipt. The cashier was ok and trying to understand what I am saying. But there is another one lady was checking the product price with her machine, she came across Nd ask me " what happen?" The tone was so rude. Looks like I did something wrong. I explained again. The lady did not say anything no smile, no sorry. Came to cashier did price adjustment for my today's grocery. Her attitude was looks like did a fever for me. Come on. You guys did a mistake, who knows might me not a mistake, may be by purpose. I did not even complain and you give me that attitude. She even dropped my receipt and left after done the adjustment. What a human being, is that how your nationality ?

They also bring in fresh Pita twice a week. To my knowledge every Wednesday and Friday unless different now. You nay know that Pita bread has no shelf life. Best way to store is in the freezer taking it out 10-30 minutes before eating. You can also leave it in the fridge for the next day!

This place used to be such a great place to buy groceries. In fact mu fav but lately it has become a joke, the staff seem to be more intresred in chit chatting with each other than serving customers. Just finished shopping here and the cashier missed an item so i pointed out that, so she looks at me as if oncommited a crime by telling her and says something in Persian, i told her you missed the item so you might want to cancel the transaction and do it all over. Still doesnt understand a word of english. Whoever is the manager please hire someone who at least knows basic english considering its canada...

Somewhat chaotic store layout added to the typically busy environment makes it a bit awkward to be COVID friendly. However, you can't beat the prices here for most produce items. The selection is less manicured than other grocery stores and you do often have to pick through to find non-damaged items sometimes. Great selection of dried and canned/jarred good as well.

Not sure if it is a language barrier issue but I always go in happy and enthusiastic because I love the food , prices and all around envisoment . However I can't help but notice that they don't / won't even say hi or good by or have a good day to me and my 2 white roommates . I notice they are super friendly with anyone who is foreign that comes in but I'm giving them the 3 starts based on the produce and prices . The customer service needs to improve . I understand it is a Persian market but it's right in the centre of Burnaby and Vancouver is a very diversice place so I lik to give the benefit of the doubt but sadly today I tested my theory and had a brown friend go in line in front of me and he got all smiles and tons of dialog (in English) and then whn I went up NOTHING not even a hello let alone how are you and when she handed me my change she practically threw it at me and didn't day a word . I then said "I hope you have a nice day too' and all I got was a dirty scowl . I will be going back for produce and stuff but will no longer even try to be nice to these people . It's not a language barrier thing it's a straight up THEY ARE RUDE AND FRANKLY SEEM KIND IF RACIST TO WHITE PEOPLE . this has happened to me and my 2 caucasian roommates on a multitude of occasions . If you guys read this maybe say hi to me next time I come in at the very least . Edit : may 22 /2018 I have since making my original review been almost every day because they have the most delicious oranges I've ever eaten, and they have been nothing but nice to me and say hi and smile and speak to me :) - as a result I am changing it to 5 stars End update -

The price on produce foods are too convenient as compare to other stores but the overall quality of the store is not good at all. Really messy and disorganized store overall, the parking lot is tiny, cramped and usually full of people trying to park while people are shopping outside. The entire store feels like it's just cramped full of everything from paper towels to ethic foods but in the most inappropriate places with little regard of how that will store (mould or something else) the inside part of the store is small and cramped and mostly because of poor layout choices, they could easily open some space by getting rid of some of the lesser purchased items ( some of the oils, sauces and so on ) Lastly some of the staff speak little to no english and clearly aren't experienced on till which can make for some very long lineups. Also you need to be careful as sometimes because the cashiers don't know what they're doing will punch in the wrong code and charge you for something else or more, don't expect an apology from them. Pros for the shop include a good selection of fruits, veggies and other items for more often quite a cheaper price compared to places like Save-On, Super Store and so on, but most are rotting or rotten so buyer beware.

Since a few months ago, my favorite place to buy groceries. Persian artisan bread is one of the best breads I have tried and can be bought here. I would like them to have a slightly larger selection of vegetables, especially peppers. Staff are kind and warm and always ready to help. I would especially like to praise the guy with the glasses who is always there and who is, it seems to me, a manager who is very calm and helps his associates in this well-organized shop. Been here a few times. It's always crowded. Some days more than others. My last visit was probably the worse though. This place is poorly organized. The layout is atrocious..if they would make a few adjustments to layout it would make the place easier to navigate. Lots of employees but no one is available to help if you need to ask a question or can't find something. So in other words bad customer service or non existent. I get you're busy trying to keep up with this busy place but the employees here seem to hate the customers and are not friendly at all, especially the cashiers. I find them the worse at customer service. Don't expect a smile, a thank you, please or anything . They just keep talking to each other in farsi instead of focusing on the customer in front of them. Today I asked the cashier a question and she didn't answer me at all so I thought maybe she didn't hear so I repeat myself and she says "No". I ask her what no? She says I don't know in an irritated tone. My question was not about yes or no. Anyway maybe she doesn't speak English ? It was a very strange exchange. I walked out without an answer. She had a bad attitude like as if me shopping there was an inconvenience for her. Then why is this shop open? Close it if you don't want customers. Selection is okay nothing great . Prices are good and reasonable. Please don't say they are unfriendly and not helpful to non middle Eastern customers. I am middle Eastern and they are just as rude to me. So let's not make this about race. They are all just ignorant of how to run a store and treat their customers in general. Parking is a nightmare, I would park on the street and avoid the parking lot all together. I won't return because of repeated bad customer service and dirty shipping environment. There are a few more middle Eastern shops down from them that are way better in terms of cleanliness, customer service and selection. Il just go there .

Produce can be of lower quality at times but that's the trade off if you don't want to pay for perfect looking oranges. This particular location is a bit crammed for space both in its parking lot and inside the store. Be ready to rub elbows with fellow shoppers. Also good idea to check your receipt as prices are often changed and staff work in fast paced and busy environment and can make errors albeit unintentional. The other stores across the lower mainland are more spacious.
