I was part of the 'Learning in Retirement' group who were given a great tour of the coop this morning. I particularly liked the power-point presentation and talk, reminding us that we members are a 'we' who look beyond just the price of food, but towards the many ways that a unique food coop such as this works for and with the Community, unlike the large profit making chains. I have particularly enjoyed, in the last year, eating in the café. The self serve option lets me take as much or little as I want that day and the food is delicious. I see so many enthused and happy people working at the co-op and am continually finding new and wonderful things to try. Keep up the great work.

Coop is what's up, all local organic products, knowledgeable staff and all super friendly. Prices are high but products are very high end. If visiting from out of town ask to use guest membership to get deals. Cheese selection is excellent and the variety for natural hair/beauty products can't be beat.

I still don't really get the lay out of the store. But really great produce. Best I've seen in a while in a grocery store. But there was nooo way I was gonna pay $30 for a cooked chicken. I don't care if it was fed organic kale and whole grain sprouted wheat. But good store.

Lovely staff throughout the store. An amazing abundance of food and non-food items and a good selection of pre-made take away items. All of which to the well traveled consumer seem overpriced and inaccessible to the average shopper. I have been in the store only a hand full of times and one of those times wanted to buy a healthy handful of unsalted bulk nuts that came out to $9 at the register. I politely to the cashier no thank you and walked out. I rarely go into this store. I only go in if I can't find an item in other stores.

Not the Co-Op you’d expect when you are familiar with the “normal” coop grocery stores. It looks super clean but the prices are extremely high. Ice cream, few peaches and milk... $35! Turns out it’s more of a health food store. Wish I went to Save On instead. Mainly for the 6 peaches that we ended up paying over $15 for!

A bit too 'granola' for my taste. We were traveling and could not buy a carton of milk. Only glass bottles. A huge cosmetic department in the center of the store makes finding things a bit awkward. That being said, the meat department and salad bar were good.

Visiting Nelson this is the MUST SEE grocery store. Tons of delicious local goodies. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Always clean and well stoked. Heaps of variety for all dietary needs. Glad this place exists....and their chocolate selection is on point.

My first venture inside the store since the onset of the Covid pandemic. I noticed that there was no line up to enter which normally seems to be the case, and I was rewarded with an easy and worry free trip through the store. As usual, there was no shortage of staff, which are knowledgeable and well trained. Unlike most of the other food stores, prices seem to be steady here, although nobody would say they are cheap. The most notable change, is the absence of the self serve buffet, which was a hugely popular feature of the new location. The parking lot is cramped and difficult to enter and exit, let alone park and is worth avoiding.

If you're selective about food, like organic, or Non-GMO verified products, the Co-op is your best one stop shopping place. Lots of bargains if you're a member. Many grocery items are cheaper at the Co-op than at regular grocery stores. The staff are friendly and helpful too...and there's free parking. It doesn't get much better than this!

The soup bones and meat organ when they are on sale are great, go to the freezers. But other imported organic food is overprice. Watch out for case lot sale in april and october. Some bulk food items are priced fairly and some food items are way overprice compare to other grocery stores.

This is my favorite kind of store to go to. This place was brimming with fresh options and delicious treats. If you come here and leave without trying some of the macaroons in the bakery section (the mocha one is amazing!) you are missing out. I love that I can get loads of good products that don't have corn syrup in them. If you like to eat real food, buy it here.

Not so local. OK, so it's December and fruit & veg don't grow abundantly in Canada, but this is BC! Onion, zucchini, tomatoes (large and cocktail) were all from Mexico. Even Calgary Co-Op in Alberta has locally grown zucchini and tomatoes (greenhouse grown) all year round - now if they can do it... A very nice store in terms of shopping experience. Unfortunately prices feel like robbery in broad daylight, that no local to Nelson could afford.

Pretty much the mecca of organic local, and specialty foods, nowhere else will you find such a good variety of healthy choices. They also have a great coffee bar , lunch bar , and deli. The only thing similar is whole foods, also they pay their staff well which in my books gives bonus points.

Super friendly customer service, and the team in the nutrition section is incredible with their knowledge and willingness to do research with you on specific questions if they don't have the answers. I asked a few questions about how they source supplements after having a bad reaction to supplements I purchased on Amazon, and was told all the qualifications that go into purchasing for the store. I haven't had any issues with the supplements from the store and the team has even helped me understand some new ways to deal with different health issues - amazing. The grocery and home goods have a lot of fantastic artisan or small brand products you don't see in the bigger grocery stores. I've learned a lot just by shopping here. I'm so glad I don't have to research every brand and label when I come here because someone else has done it for me. (Thank you!)

Haven't checked their regular grocery section but the prepared food section was great. If we had this store in my town I would never make lunches again. Very interesting combinations of ingredients in salads. Hot buffet was very fresh and smelled delicious. Even got some ideas for salads and dip recipies from their packaging to make at home. If you are travelling and looking for a quick and healthy lunch look no further.

Great place in down town Nelson to pick up fee groceries, or get a quick bite to eat. My spouse loves their selection of natural toothpastes and deodorants. Don't forget to check out their cheese section: they have some "mini" pre-wrapped cheese pieces if you want to buy a small amount to try at home.

If you've got cash to burn this is the place to go. Food to go and bakery rocks, other then that, not much selection unless your into the overpriced, nouveau foody fads. Ethnic food section sucks, herb section sucks, definitely not whole foods. Most stuff you can pick up at the other grocery places for 30 percent cheaper, and it all comes out of the same food chain.

I shop at the Co-op somewhat regularly, and almost every time I'm there, there's music blasting out of the produce department. Today it was audible throughout almost the whole store. I do like the store, but I'm tired of the loud bass all the time. It's very unprofessional.
