The feeling of old time Chinatown. Service is polite and helpful. They have stock for most Asian cuisines. Basic noodles, sauces and some fresh vegetables. Family sized bags of rice. An assortment of frozen dim sum. Small assortment of Asian dishware. All the decorations, including lucky money, banners and such for a happy Lunar New Year.

Staff is always smiling and willing to help you look for what you need. There is an amazing selection of all your Asian cooking needs. They sell expired food if you don't check the shelf life. Frozen seafood kept out far longer then they should. Frozen in Aug 2012 & selling for top dollar in end of November? Should be only frozen for max three months. This has happened to me a few times now. This is why I only gave three stars only. If they made sure their shelfs were fresh and up to date then I would shop there more often.

Absolutely love this small business! Owners are incredibly nice and friendly. They always happily greet you and help you find what you're looking for. I understand prices are a bit higher than what it is in Vancouver, but I understand that they are a specialty store and have to order, ship and transport these items to the island compared to Vancouver where there would be cheaper shipping/transport rates since there are more consumers. We loved a brand of this Thai tea drink, unfortunately they were running low of it so the owner helped us order a batch of it and saved it for us. I truly appreciate the dedication of this small business, and I will continue to show support to my Asian community and this store.

The last time I was in this store I wanted to buy some tofu which turned out to be 3 weeks (!) past the expiration date. The owner said that the deliveries only come through once every two weeks which is why the dates are bad. But if the deliveries are every 2 weeks then why is the food 3 weeks past date? I've shopped at this store for over 14 years and bought some good food here though the years. Nostalgia prevents a one-star review. Just double check the sell-by date on anything you want to buy.

unbelievable selection of Asian and Southeast Asian specialty foods and goods. Looks a bit scary from the outside, but is packed full with imported wonders. Aisles of toys, novelties and food, lots of which I have never seen on the island anymore. great place to get specialty Thai, Malay and Japanese food and ingredients, cooking tools, and even frozen items and fresh produce. I stop here everytime I go by, they always have the things I need to make authentic Japanese and Thai cuisine, the proprietor is very funny and helpful as well. if you are looking for Asian specialty imports anywhere in the mid Island, stop here.

Great place to find all things for Asian, and Indian cooking. The kids love picking out sweet treats from around the globe. The staff are friendly. The produce isn't always as fresh as it could be, but the freezer sections are well stocked. It is also a little cramped, but that's just because they have so many interesting things!

Be aware that many products in the store are over their expiry dates. I realized the instant coffee I bought has been expired in 2015! Now is 2019 so it is 4 years past expiry date!

I've been shopping at Man Lee for 20 years [since their previous Terminal Park Mall location!] and I still find new things to try when I go there! I love just wandering through the whole store and finding fun new foods to experiment with. It's an absolute pleasure to shop here. Their ramen/instant noodle collection is HUGE, good fresh produce, snacks and candies abound. There's also lots of non-food treasures hiding around! Clothing, accessories, jewelry, chopsticks, etc. Basil, the owner, is fantastic. He's always happy to answer any questions I have, he's very knowledgeable about the things he stocks.

After moving to the island from the Toronto area and having T&T close by, every time I'm in Nanaimo I make sure to stop by and stock up on items that are more difficult to get where I'm living now. Will be back, they have frozen vegan shrimp!!! It was really good - plain it was a bit sweet but the texture was perfect and the sweetness was easy to cover up with garlic/s&p and nooch. I got the vegan bacon as well, haven't tried it yet though. There were lots of other products I'm looking forward to trying as well. Shop owner was pleasant and helpful.

A Great Variety of Tea, Tea Pots and Cup sets, Cooking Utensils, Pots and Pans. A Variety of Art and Gifts to select from. Fantastic Service, if you don't see what you want, just ask. The Service is Wonderful and Variety Amazing. Easy access at the standalone building. Handicapped parking and a level entrance. (I'm not sure if the aisles will accommodate a wheelchair, but if you know what you want they can get your items for you., Like I said, Great Service)

It's an experience to shop here. They have everything you could possibly want. Wanted to make a recipe with unique Asian ingredients, handed them my list and they filled my basket with the required items. So fantastic to have a shop like this in Nanaimo(even though we historically should have even more)! Even better than some big city stores to be honest, especially when it comes to customer service.

I'm obsessed with Man Lee's. Their rice toppers are unreal, the incense is fairly priced, they had some really cute soya sauce with hello kitty on it and they carry clipper lighters with the bowl pokers 2 for 5 dollars!!! The staff is also very friendly! I will be back!

Be aware the expire date on their product. I bought the noodle that expired for almost 2 years and they refused to refund. They explained that is “best before date” and safe to eat. Do you know you’re against the law for not to refund and selling expired food?

The male owner was nice and friendly before purchasing. However, A friend of mine told me he wouldn't let you use the restroom no matter you're old or young, emergency or not. Tested, true. Very disappointed. One of the product, the female stuff charged $4.99. Same product, the male owner charged me $6.99. There was no price tag on that product! I like the female stuff. She is reasonable.
