Formerly la Fruiterie de Montreal, and still my all-time fave fruit & vegee stand now in their new awesome location. Teas and spices galore, olive selection to die for, great fruits & vegees, lots of organic, lots of legumes. Eggplant, dried okra, huge pomegranates, mangos of all sorts... Selection of different feta cheeses and various others. Had a samosa on the way home which was tasty too. All very reasonably priced. Yummm!

That being said, the employees who work there tend to moody, grumpy, and sometimes down right rude and disrespectful. Every single time I've been there I've been slammed into by one of the employees without so much as a "pardon".

I would have left a nice review of this store because the range of products is excellent. But the cashier I was served by had his mask under his chin and openly coughed in front of me. A disgusting display of disrespect to customers during a pandemic. It is still the law to be masked indoors in all indoor public settings. As this clearly isn’t being enforced at this business I will not be shopping there again.

This place recently expanded into the old Inter-Marché space on Parc av. No comparison with the dingy, stale Inter-Marché. Variety is strong, place is nicely lit, prices are reasonable, good specials, lots of fine foods, vegan things, olives. Staff are nice, same folks as at the smaller store. This could seriously compete with PA, a couple blocks to the south.

The owner here (Bob) is almost always working at the front desk and is always friendly and knows the weather forecast. Fruterie is a responsible business - they donate unused produce to charities around the mile-end, and they don't shred their produce unlike PA/Provigo (I forget which one shreds their produce). My roommate also dumpster dives at Fruterie and all the employees are very chill with it. Tons of organic produce (and a lot of it is unpackaged), and organic dairy and meat as well - a lot of it is local where possible. Like my friend Ceci said about this place on Yelp, it is truly "an oasis away from late stage capitalism"

EDIT: They do not do anything for social distancing, avoid shopping there nowadays. It's a very good supermarket in the area. They have fresh fruits for vegetables for a good price. I think this place is so charming, the staff is nice and the selection is just great. The prices are good and everything looks good to eat. I work nearby so I like that they have hot options like samosas and Jamaican meat patties. They fill you up and are so good. Also they are a dollar which is unbeatable.

This may be the best alternative on the Mile-end to the Jean-Talon market. The fruits are very well selected and do actually taste something. Otherwise this place is packed with all kinds of other aliments for the daily use. Also, the samosas that you can get at the cashier are very tasty. And finally prices are very reasonable.

We absolutely love shopping here! We go there every Sunday for our weekly groceries and the staff is always so friendly. The produce is fresh and they have a ton of specialty items for people with different dietary restrictions. For such a tiny, local store, they are extremely well stocked. They have everything with an Indian flavour so you actually find some fresh turmeric root and some lime leaves! They are more on the healthy/organic side so no generic brand names like kellogg's or Quaker's or Liptons. The'll have healthier versions of that!! It's community grocery store so people share stories and recipes!! You can buy lots of fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the street which is nice as the inside the rows are a little narrow which make us feel even more close!! Enjoy!!
