Simply the best veggies & fruits place in the Mcgill ghetto - if you're into that green stuff. The quality is always good and the prices are very reasonable. Your pay a fraction of what your would at the super market down the street.

Roger Sanders

Great little store, inexpensive fruits and veggies. Save at least a roller per celery compared to grocery stores right beside.

Patience Cobbinah

Cheaper fresh produce available. Lots of middle eastern options. Customer service could be improved but it's still worth it for the prices.

Nikita Nayyar

Good place to get Indian(desi) items and its cheaper too. I recommend buying spices here since there are a lot of options. Although I don't buy much from the frozen section but its my go-to place for daily cooking ingredients. The staff is polite not too friendly. I wish they could keep the place a bit cleaner too.

Doug Rogers

Consistently the best prices for lettuce, tomatoes, other veggies, even in the depths of winter. Very good quality too. Not the most friendly staff though - often busy talking to one another so the customer seems like an annoying distraction

kunal rakshit

Very nice little store for almost all grocery needs. However pleas note that they accept only debit cards (no credit card) and they will charge you 25 cents if your bill is less than 7$.

Great store. Respectful staff. Awesome location in the Ghetto. My regular place for shopping vegetables & fruits. Good deals on yoghurt always.

Love love love this store for its health food options, fresh produce, excellent prices, and classical music. I feel very comfortable there while shopping and there is just simply no stress and no rush, I can take my time read all the ingredients, calculate prices, weight my produce without someone else waiting around and trying to push me to hurry up. Prices are Excellent ! Great for people who eat very healthy, like I do. Btw, I found it difficult to find milk that I could heat up in the microwave without it turning into cottage cheese. ( that was IGA milk ). But the 2% milk I have purchased at this market, does not curdle and I can finally have my coffee the way I want it in the mornings.

Great for halal meat. Don't accept credit card and some staff is rude. I have been going to this place for close to two years now. It's the only store I know of that sells great halal meat. There's lots of other food options here including teas and middle eastern sweets. But some of the staff here is unfriendly and condescending... especially to international students I think. My experience has been mostly positive except for my interactions with a certain tall middle aged person who wears glasses. He certainly must hate his job. I once didn't have cash on my debit card and he just put my shopping basket away, no communication. And they don't take credit cards for payment.

Honestly, if it weren't for the cheap produce and non-perishables, I wouldn't shop here. The staff are mostly rude and unkind. Once, while picking out tomatoes, two had dropped and I had only noticed one of them, having caught it in time, and I put it back. Instead of just letting me know I had dropped the second one, one of the employees grabbed it off the floor and started yelling at me, telling me that I was careless and stupid. I had been totally caught off guard by this and I apologized, taking the tomato from him and putting it back onto the display. (It hadn't burst or anything) Earlier today, I went back because I needed a stalk of celery for a recipe. While I was there, I decided to buy some grapes and while I was picking out a bag, I had taken out a small vine that I wanted and set it onto the shelf so that I could go grab a plastic bag and bag it (since the displays are so small, there's no room for me to really do this on the spot as my hands were both full). But before I could go get the bag, the same employee from before comes storming up to me (he was literally stomping his feet and fuming) and says, "Why do you do this? Who's going to buy this? Why?" and points at the grape vine I had put back onto the shelf. I kind of just looked at him and apologized again, because I'd rather not argue with someone of such short temperament and no manners. I usually avoid this place unless the prices at Eden or one of the bigger chain grocery stores are really unreasonable for produce. I hate giving my business to stores that have zero sense of basic manners.

Unpretentious little market with very fresh fruits and vegetables. Honey there is really good with fair price. It surprised me with a variety of natural products and good variety of tisanes. Be aware that they don't accept credit cards.

Perfect small store for a quick shopping experience. Good quality vegetables at competitive prices. Well stocked. They also cater to South Asian and Middle Eastern needs. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and sanitised. I am a regular there

I have been shopping here for at least 10 years. I love their selection of middle Eastern food products; great selection of other ethnic products of high quality (Bulgarian feta cheese is wonderful). Lots of syrups and interesting juices; the pomegranate syrup is ideal for marinating meats for the BBQ; there is a sparkling organic pear juice from France that is incredible and is a perfect alternative to an alcoholic beverage for people that don't/can't drink (i.e., my pregnant friends). If you cook well and like to experiment with exotic/different ingredients, this place is for you. Good selection of fruits and vegetables for great prices. Coffee is well-priced, too. Sometimes the cashiers can be a bit rude (especially with snot-nosed, entitled McGill University students... see other reviews) but it is easy to develop a cool relationship with the owners over time.

I wanted to ask is there arabic coffee available in your store?

Yohan Gautier

Excellent place. Vegetables and fruits are que cheap, mostly because they dont look perfect or are well ripe. Still worth it! Also a good selection of middle East/Mediterranean products (spices, feta cheese, nuts...) and really cheap but close to expiring date pitas. If you're ready to give some time for some well picked/thought groceries, it's conveniently well placed between the two close grocery stores.

When it comes to groceries this is my first option. It is the closest place there is in park Ave where you can find eastern (Persian, Arab, etc) grocery. Despite its small space it has a good variety of items on popular categories like meat, bread, rice, jam, honey, etc. Also there is good variety of fruits and they are almost always fresh. The owner and cashiers are very friendly and gentle. I guess I could complain about the prices of some items, but again when it comes to groceries it's my first option.

This message to the owner: I criticize this store cuz I like it, but the owner seems like doesn't care about his business neither his loyal customers. If your background is out of Canada that doesn't mean your standards be low!! Why don't upgrade your standards to the medium level of Canadian standards: renovate your store including the dirty floor, upgrade lightening, improve hygiene standards in general, educate your staff how to be professional in dealing with customers; staff keep talking and chatting in their own language while customers are waiting!, ...etc. One more thing, you are the only store in Canada who have a lot of customers and don't accept credit card :(.

Destination Nature

A very nice store with plenty of produce and health food at reasonable prices. They have the best organic vegan chocolate Benjamissimo. The owners and staff are very friendly too. Highly recommended

I saw a bearded cashier with his mask pulled down. Not a big deal since no one was at the cash and they have plexi-glass. He then proceeded to cough in his hand and there was definitely mucus ,saliva and whatever that was transferred. He did not even wash his hand he just wiped it on his pants. Regardless of covid this is unacceptable. There was even an antiseptic liquid on the counter for customers.I can only imagine what happens when he uses the bathroom. I was just too stunned to say anything but it's all coming out now.On top of that he has a perma-frown,does not even greet you or say hello. I don't expect anyone to have a perma-smile either,a neutral look is just fine .Anyway if you go there, make sure you double, triple wash your produce! It's been two months since last review. Now the same cashier is telling people to hurry up and go to the cash. We are closing ,we are closing ,go to the cash. Repeatedly ,constantly, very annoying! The fact is that the store closes at 7 p.m. and he does this for one hour starting at 6p.m. Like W.T.F.

I am shopping here for a year and I was happy with the price and fruits usually. But, some of the cashiers are very rude and they do not know how to treat the costumers. They need to consider this as soon as possible. Unless, it will cost them the costumers including me and many others. I am so sorry for them.
