This Fruit Store is included in the category of Grocery store.
This place look bad not to say worst, there is no customer service at all however I really like to go there. There is ton of interesting Chinese products and it seems like I find something new every month. Also the price are very good. I would make my grocery there if it was closer to my place:).
Impressive choice of dry food.I found tapioca bubble tea there but the honey melon was sold out.Not the cheapest prices in town
Really great grocery
Lovely service, soothing music, delicious, fresh and nutritious foods at delightful prices~!
Good place where you can find anything you need for asian dishes. Lack of cleanest and of organization but still a wide varieties of asian items . You will what you look for over there.
The food is fresh, awesome and the price is freaking low for the meat !!! Like i buy i big bag of oyster and its cost me 8$ !!! in grocery it cost me 20$ for less than that !!! Same thing for the fish they are 3 time more fresh than in grocery wich they can keep it 3 days and you dont even know (i've work 2 time in fish at provigo and that disgusting) I van easily can exit with 4 bag full of food and it will only cost me betwen 100 and 150 $ and i have for 2 week of food for 3 personne .
It has a vast variety of Asian foods, however the freshness of the meat is not always there. However, if you need something exotic like pig ears or chicken feet, a go to, definitely.
Generally good selection of Asian groceries in Montreal; prices are decent; place is a bit hectic
Great place to get Asian ingredients from.
Not big Chinese Supermarket but you can get most things here. They have fresh produce, fresh meat counter, live sea food in aquarium & usual dry goods. Been coming here over the years and never disappointed. The till girls work hard, could do with a smile, but more, now this place can be easily missed by all together by the restaurant at its entrance, that has queues of customs waiting for tables and blocking the supermarket entrance. Well, why cook it if you can stay at the queue and try the tasty noodles before going down to buy it for home cooking.
Large selection of asian groceries and located in a very convenient spot in chinatown! The prices are worth my weekly trip at the store.
Very nice supermarket in Chinatown; I always stop by to pick up certain items at a reasonable cost that cannot be found in regular markets. There are just 2 things that management needs to work on: 1) since this place is located downstairs of a soup shop, a divider should be set up for clients for the supermarket to get there easily instead of clumsily going around the restaurant patrons and 2) the sign that debit/credit card transactions must be a minimum of $10 needs to be more visible to clients instead of being a small 4"×6" card by the cash register.
Its good spot with a great variety of goods and prices are okay . You save a bit of change
Giant and takes credit cards!
One of the best supermarket for Asian supplies. Has a very good selection of both imported and fresh items.
Nice chinese supermarket. I've been there with my chinese friends and they said it's ok!
Small Chinatown groceries. A little pricey compared with large Chinese groceries.
One of the larger grocery stores in the area, with a good variety of vegetables, sauces and (especially) ramen and noodles. Prices are good (they aren't the lowest, but they still beat most brand-name grocery stores by a healthy margin). Hard to find if you don't know where it is (take the escalator downstairs).
Lots of produce going bad, not sure about the meat section but seem to have good selection. Great place for hard to find Asian spices.
Great variety and hard to find interesting items.
It’s a supermarket-sized Asian market that manages to be large and exist downtown by virtue of its subterranean location. You’ll have to make your way through the line of a popular noodle shop to get downstairs; don’t get stuck there if you want groceries! Downstairs, the place itself is on the older side and definitely leans more Chinese rather than other Asian countries—there are some Korean, Japanese, and Thai staples that they don’t stock or have a very limited selection of. Produce is not outstanding, but does appear to be fresh and they have most of the herbs and such you might be looking for, either fresh or frozen. I come here specifically because it’s the closest place to me that carries Paradis brand fake meat. I’d give it a solid 4 stars, but sadly, last time I was there, the freezer was malfunctioning and the fake meat I’d come for was half-thawed. I also picked up some hot pot soup base that ended up being expired. Still, the employees are always very pleasant and helpful. So in the end, not a bad place, but not a luxury experience either. Just plan on going to pick up mostly Chinese stuff and keep an eye on expiration dates and such.
Go to spot for groceries
Very tasty chinese restaurant just super. Wow
Great selection of food for a good price
Excellent selection of Asian dried and preserved goods, good fresh produce and freshly made firm tofu. Keep an eye on the refrigeration section- we brought home one package of fresh noodles that were spoiled.
Went there to buy some exotic fruits which they had! Prices are good but they have a minimum of 10$ of you want to pay with credit card or interac.
Great selection of products. Good service.
Pretty good for a basement supwrmarket
Awesome place to get cheap Asian products in a wide variety. Disregard some smell/dirty issues, they're "normal". Some products aren't always there but might be at a later time.
After being informed they were under the restaurant, I was quite pleased with their varied selection. Friendly/helpful staff too.
Good place to go for an Asian grocery store downtown, lots of selection, veggies are fairly affordable (for the area).
g&d is fire
Great selection of asian products.
So many choices and products available kn this spot! Totally recommend if you are looking for Asian products at good prices????
Bad service... nonsense
Nice Asian store
Very awesome store
It has pretty much everything, but often vegetables are not fresh. They also keep storing the korean pickled daikon on the shelves, but every where else it is always stored in the fridge.
An Asian supermarket but sells almost all daily need grocery items.
Could be cleaner and have more staff who at least speak English. (None of them speak French)
I go there for dill, thai basil, dumplings sheets. Everything else seems a bit overpriced especially meat since it is in Lbs and not in KGs. Drinks too expensive like a convenient store. No real specials
Entrance is inside the Lan Zhou noodle resto. This place is great. Huge selection of Asian groceries. Fun drinks, bubble tea, instant noodle, pocky, international flavors of chips like honey butter chip that you should try cuz it's delicious, ready made sauces, fresh produce and veggies, fresh meat and seafood. They pack a lot in here! There are boxes in the way often though so it can get a bit tight. Price is great too, king oyster mushroom for example is usually 3.99 elsewhere and it was 3.29$ here. They also take card after a minimum of 10$
Always coming here for the groceries I get back home. I love that they have bags of fresh noodles and dumpling wraps.
????????????????
The service here is very good.
Five stars products Five stars service Five stars cleaness Five stars experience (even the small fact that you have to pass trough a restaurant ) ????⭐????⭐????
It is a good Asian supermarket and you can find pretty much everything you need for Asian products.
My favourite place to shop! The best place to go for Thai ingredients
Ok place. Not many choices
Good underground spot ! If you know you know !
It's a charming underground Chinese grocery store with most Asian ingredients with the many variations and brands you'll want and need. You'll find your staple Asian fruits and produce, dried goods, sauces and seasonings, frozen foods, and so much more. Be adventurous and try a variation of what you're looking for - especially noodles, snacks, and drinks. There's something about this style of supermarket that is very nostalgic for anyone who grew up in a southeast Asian household. Staff are pleasant and helpful when you ask them for help.
Wide variety of Asian products. Frrsh fish.Always double check the chicken before buying
Get some groceries while you wait for noodles. Recipe for success. You're going places! ????????
centre of Montreal Chinatown Chinese and oriental grocery fresh fish and meat counter reasonable price
Its good
Bad smell but good variety of things to buy
Great variety of Asian food products, with competitive prices.
Found everything I needed to make homemade kimchi ramen! Prices are very reasonable. Good produce section. Easy to find the store. Quick and friendly staff.
A little secluded to the average person, but they are PACKED with anything asian you may want to find. Makes for an excellent exploration if you wish to answer the question "what do the asians eat?"
This place is kind of magical you can find a lot of surprises here. I found my childhood soda in this store. It brings back all the good memories. Thank you ❣️ Only downside is the store is not so well organized. But I still recommend this store
Great basement place. This is my go-to spot for snowpea leaf and good cheap canned Thai curry. And, a great noodle counter at the top of the escalator that heads down to the store.
Got food poisoning from meat section
G&D is the best place in Montreal to shop for Asian groceries. They have a little bit of everything from fresh produce, meat and fish, seafood. There's more varieties of packaged noodles than you could try in a lifetime. Plenty of ready to cook frozen items and tons of snacks and candy. Tons of instant ramen choices too. If you are cooking an Asian recipe they probably have what you need, if they don't it might be hard to find in Montreal.
Very legit Chinese supermarket. I get all the same sauces, oils, noodles, and everything from when I used to live in Shanghai.
Not cheap but a good place to find specialized Asian products.
Conveniently located at the heart of downtown Montreal on Saint-Laurent, underneath a noodle restaurant. Interesting assortment of Asian products. Staff is friendly but many don't seem to understand either English or French. Prices are on the higher side compared to other Asian grocery stores in town but that's what you get buying at a prime location like this one. Parking nearby may be a hassle, it would be wise to go using public transit.
Has all the essentials, good prices.
Great low priced grocery store with a selection of fruits and vegetables, dry goods, frozen meats, and a live butcher to cut fresh meat to your liking. While you won’t have a huge variety of food here, you’ll find the staples. Accepts cash and Interac. Would definitely go again.
A lot of products to discover. Friendly staff.
Food are fresh
You can find most of the stuff you are looking for here. I love the fact that they carry a lot of Asian products I can't find anywhere else.
we need more supermarkets like this everywhere. I buy all my food here and they always have fair prices with quality produce. you can find almost any thing and everything. it's like a Kim phat.
a lot to see ,a must for tourists
Good for Asian products.
Everyone is rude, the staff could be robot I can't tell and if you need any kind of assistance you'll regret it. You need to know what you need do your thing and get out Edit: I when there today and the staff was more helpful and nicer so I added few starts
A rare one stop shop.
seems more expensive than other Asian supermarket
Always a good service, thank you.
Good place to shop Asian grocery
Great selection of Asian food supplies.
Has every asian product you could want the most groceries don't carry as well as the ones they do. Live fish also available.
Small little super market in the heart of downtown, edge of Chinatown, access from St Laurent. They have most of the essentials and some fresh meat and fish. Might not find exactly the brand or product you're looking for, but definitely main staples you'll find. Cashier was super friendly to interact with and staff stocking shelves were consider of distancing
Authentic and well stocked Asian food supermarket. And the upstairs beef noodle restaurant is pretty great. One of those rare 'not much choice, but what we do, we do very well' places!
Lots of authentic Chinese groceries.
The most complete supermarket in Chinatown. May not not have the best prices but they'll have almost everything you're looking for.
It’s not easy to find this place, Asian supermarket, in the basement.
G&D serves as a replacement to T&T in Montreal, but don't expect to find exactly everything you're looking for. It is much smaller, and it isn't a chain, so you won't find much of the conveniences that you'd find in a larger market. Their variety of Asian goods is decent, as they'll have a small variety of foods, drink, and personal products from throughout Asia, but it won't be enough to serve everyone's needs
My favorite spot to buy Asian goods. The veggies are always fresh and they have a great selection of fish. Also well situated, close from a metro. The only downside is the lack of parking.
Good supermarket for asian products! They have slot of stuffs! Could be more organized, but can’t complain.
The lady at the cash refused to let us use our credit card because our bill was $9.99 and not the minimum store mandate of $10.00 - and guess what? When we gave her $10.00 in cash, our bill was rounded off to $10.00 (and no pennies returned, thank you very much)! Talk about customer service, and the mythical El Dorado of customer service is located right here close to home!
very nice and full of diverse materails
Got a good variety of Asian fruits and veggies
The best supermarket of chinatown
They have lots of instant ramen from Asia. it's my go to place.
Great asian supermarket. Decent selection and clean.
i always forget to come here. and when i do, it's amazeballs
Staff could be friendlier, floors could be cleaner. But good selection of specialty Chinese foodm
Its ok, the fruits are not fresh. The meat is less expensive and alright.
Great prices great variety of Asian imported/Asian style products and other food.
Love that place!
good food and quality
they have everything you need
My favorite super market in town! You can find so many things here! Flavored kitkats! Durian for a pik Nik! Frozen dumplings? Fresh Kimchi?! Much much more! So many things!?
Good choice of tea
Best supermarket in Chinatown!
The place was not very clean but they had a variety of asian products. Rices, sauces, vegetables and even candy. Bought a good amount of Tofu (round package, pandas printed on the lid) for 1.90 CAN, pretty good deal.
One of my favorit asian/chinese grocery located in chinatown. Various fresh ingredients, meat, seafood, chicken as well as fresh veggies.
Has very good prices for most things and I can find items there that I don't find elsewhere. Great place to load up on essentials.
Average supermarket with expensive green veggies in winter time. Environment filled with low vibration, drama, jokes etc, not the cleanest surrounding for grocery shopping.
Conveniently located in Chinatown, and is probably the largest Asian grocery store there. Very limited brand selection (mostly from mainland China with comparatively fewer products from other Asian countries, compare to most other Asian groceries), minuscule fresh meat/fish selection, very long checkout time. Has a large selection soy products and dry goods.
Well lit and spacious, a great place to shop or to stop in for one or two ingredients.
I went here on February 27 and bought some drinks. I drank one that night and ended up getting extremly sick. Turns out it had expired in january. When i looked at my other drinks, they were all expired! If you shop here, please look at the dates.
Good price and accurate delivery and no assembly fee and free delivery over a certain amount!
there are many choice ,good for asian food .
They have a great variety of imported Asian ingredients. Prices are hit and miss for some fresh produce.
Best Chinese supermarket
Vast range of Asian food selection, from fresh vegetables/meat to snacks. As a pescatarian, I was excited to find they sell fresh/living shrimps and fish.
Really good selection and variety of Asian foods, it's a little hard to find but definitely worth the effort.
Variety is interesting but could be cheaper!
After living in the area for about 2 years and passing through the store countless time is never imagined I missed this treasure trove. I recently got the idea of making my own dumpling with as authentic flavors as I could. Being a novice I thought let's get some premade dumpling wrappers, and searched for places I could buy one. This was on top of the list and pretty close by..as soon as I entered the store (expecting it to be tiny) I was amazed by the collection they have for all the south east asian products..ended up buying some ramen, kimchi, veggies, silken tofu, thai curry ingredients and a lot more. This is a staple go to shop for me.
Love the selection of Asian products.
Great place, nice food, cheap prices. Unusual ingredients
The variety is rich, the holiday does not rest. and the cheap price
Substandard Chinese grocery. They try to come off as the premium Chinese grocery in Chinatown, but the staff inside don't even help bag your groceries.
Average Asian market
We found the food and fruits bought here were often not fresh. They should have a better quality control.
Great selection in an underground supermarket, just below a noodle shop. Awesome
Are you a foodie looking for an adventure? Give this place a try. Incredible diversity of Asian food products, meats, seafood and vegetables. Great diversity of protein alternatives for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. I shop here at least once a month. Here are "must buy" items: black sesame Japanese ice cream (the ginger one is also amazing); green shell mussels; dried cubes of fried gluten; frozen dumplings; fresh and dried asian mushrooms (lots of choice); purple sweet potatoes; egg noodles; seasoned sunflower seeds for snacking. There is a lot to discover here; a real taste of Asia in Montreal.
good market for Asian people.
So much variety! I love shopping here because of all the Asian foods you can't get anywhere else. Everything from vegetables to desserts and large choice of spices and sauces. A large variety of noodles too. The cashiers don't smile much but they are very quick and efficient. So all in all, this is my favourite Asian store. Highly recommend!!!
amazing asian market in Chinatown
A place for Asiatic groceries.
Awesome place for Asian food supplies.
Nice!
Fantastic grocer, huge selection of pretty much any ingredient you need for chinese and other asian cooking. Great selection of vegetables and fruit, all are fresh and well packed. Good prices too
Good Chinese food supermarket
If you are at Chinatown, want to do some grocery shopping, this is the place, not as big as some of the asian stores in suburbs, but it has almost everything you need.
It always amazes me how great their prices are <3
Great place, great selection of goods, only downside. The cashiers will openly talk trash about you assuming you don't understand the language they speak.
Asian here. The cashiers are cold as hell. No smile, no word, just cold attitude. I enjoy going to Chinatown and can do groceries elsewhere. The store is only located at a good place, but their price and service are under par. Customers like me give a few chances but I believe that is it - going somewhere where prices are also better.
Hidden gem
This place only accept cash. I know the places that don't accept cash they don't do the taxes properly. There is no sign for no credit card or debit card.
No cards bellow 10 Dollar. No go in pandemic times
All there
Awesome Chinese supermarket
I only go there to get rice and soy sauce. Questionable sanitary standards.
GOOD
Great grocery! You can find typically everything you need from a Asian store ! Price of product are fair and always open !
Always have what I need. Good quality Japanese and Korean ingredients. Friendly people and clean place.
Small store hard to find. Unless you know it is there it's hard to find. The entrance is through the entrance of a restaurant. You have to take the stairs and head downstairs. They have a good selection of products considering the size of the store.
Fast service and nice products
Produce often not fresh and missing some basic stuff but wide choice of dry goods.
seafood not fresh, smell terrible .
Lots of yummy products I cant find anywhere near
Great prices and choices. Staff was not overly helpful though. I would have spent lots more $$ if my questions seemed important.
They have good selection of fresh vegetables, fruits meat and fish. They also have bulk bins for dried ingredients like straw mushrooms, dates, lotus seeds etc...
Very conveniently located!
Good selection of Asian snacks but very limited fresh fruits.
Personally one of my favourite places to visit in chinatown. You can find real products such as tea or grass jelly or durian. Really fun to explore and to get a genuine idea of chinese shopping.
I like going here because I can find all the asian ingredients I need but also because it reminds me of Chinese supermarkets from when I was in China, especially since the fragrances from the restaurant upstairs is so good! But be careful that smell makes you want to shop even more :p The prices are really good compared to other places and everything is really well organized. The only thing is that most of the staff barely speak English or French, so it is a bit hard finding something when you ask for it. But they are helpful and do try to assist you.
Very Good Very Cheap
Good place to by Chinese food, vegetables and fruits.
Always check the chicken before you buy
Bought a rotten and moldy pomelo fruit there. Disgusting and almost made me puke. They kept it on the shelves since around February 14th because it still has a valentine's day packaging The place smells funky like expired meat. The fact is when meat is fresh, it's not suppose to have a strong smell. They would do everything to make profit (use plastic to make rice in china).
"They have good prices for italian products like coffee, pasta, cheese, etc..."
Great price and service!
My grandmother who doesn't speak french or English got robbed by the cashier. She gave the cashier a 20$ when the bill was around 10$, she was due to get back her changes, but the cashier later said my grandmother only paid with a 10$ and not 20$. Unable to do anything she gave up on the changes and left. She only told us about it recently because she saw other customers arguing with the same cashier that robbed her. This is outrageous.
Not good condition
Like any Chinese supermarket
The vegetables are comparily not so fresh and the price is a bit higher than other Chinese supermarkets. Most importantly, yesterday I went go shopping one hour and a half before the store's closing time, the madam in the meat section refused to sell me those meat that need to be cut, clarified that she has to clean the machine first and asked me to go back in half a hour. I felt it ridiculous. Then I left without buying any meat that I needed. This supermarket has a great location but they are less crowded than any other big ones. The should have offered better service and as well better quality grocery in order to attract more customers.
Underground market with very little selections for groceries
Black sesame- and green tea ice creams, large selection of foreign candy, and imported versions of Starbucks, etc.
Don't let the entrance fool you. This place is a gold mine for people looking for Asian foods. Plenty of imported authentic dried, fresh, packaged products, and meat, vegetables, and condiments. The selection is not only limited to Chinese foods, but other Asian foods as well. Very reasonably priced, and smells cleaner than most Asian supermarkets.
Very friendly staff! Great store to go.
The price is nice and can get Japanese food.
Exactly what you expect plus great selection of living sea food
Great spot to pick up imported asian snacks and drinks
Awesome place to find imported asian goods. Good supermarket in general if looking for common cooking needs (vegetables, meat, spices, etc.). Amazing snack section.
Amazing prices, good selection
Good organized asian Supermarket
Good for veggies, fruits, some fish, meat and Chinese sauces and snacks, courteous service too
After giving some many chances... is enough! The quality of the veggies and meat are bad. They know it and they will still sell it to you even is past due, color changed and smelly, never again will shop there.
Wide range of Asian produce and spices, hidden beneath a lamen noodle shop. Price is not the cheapest in town, but it offers good variety.
Great selection
Overpriced for what is essentially an Asian market full of goods of varying reliability. Selection is not impressive either.
One of my favorite Asian Market. They don't have the best prices but so have the widest variety. I never walk out of this place empty handed.
The worst Chinese store ever! The cashier doesn't know how to count money and doesn't want to give back my money. What a thief! Not even one star!!!
Great market for all sorts of asian imports and fresh seafood, fish, meats and veggies! A little bit expensive but that's what imports cost. I wish they would expand the snacks section though.
Love going there. Decent freshness and prices. Fairly spacious, have nice hand carts.
I almost go there every week!
Got expired items on shelf.
good grocery in those areas, varies products and almost all I want can be grabbed there. Nice staffs and nice cashier, good quality of foods and vegetables.
Nice collection
The food here is fresh and cheap! Asian things are all! it is good!
Nice little super market in the middle of chinatown. You have to go through a ramen restaurant and it's in the basement.
Okay for Asian cuisine ingredients however lacking some important items and fresh produce
Best super market in Chinatown!
This grocery has imported products like the Lay's & Kitkats from Asia, but the price for the products aren't as competitive as other Asian groceries like Kim Phat. The aisles are also tight.
Very nice place, they have a lots of items
An entire aisle of just noodles, all kinds of sauces, specialty veg, good quality tofu and bulk size staples such as rice vinegar. Prices are very reasonable for city centre given that one doesn’t have to go very far to the larger Asian grocery stores. I was so happy just to come here. The cashiers don’t smile but they don’t have to for me, as long as they do their job well. Will be coming back!
