Find it hit and miss. Some of the staff are fantastic, and others give off the impression that they'd rather be somewhere else. I often visit in the morning, and find that the staff is lacking at this hour. If you're working a morning shift, you're often people's first point of contact for the day and it would be nice to start the day off with friendly encounters. A lot of the prices are a bit high, compared to other stores. Sometimes can find some decent sales on items, but overall the prices are high.

Very friendly staff. Limited variety of vegetables. You can only get lettuce, broccoli, carrots, aubergines, sprouts and bell peppers. If you need anything else then you might want to go elsewhere. A little pricey but they normally have deals where you can purchase two for cheaper, definitely helps!

Well, it's a grocery store. Definitely looks dated inside. Despite it being a good sized store, I am disappointed in the size of the meat department. Unless you want ground beef, pork chops or chicken breasts, legs or thighs, don't get your hopes up. I went to get a beef roast and there were none! It was not even a holiday. Steaks can be hit or miss. The produce section doesn't fare much better. They carry the staples but that's about it. I can't even buy jalapeño peppers there, and I wouldn't call that exotic. Overall its an OK basic store to cater to basic needs. If you like to entertain, you'll be disappointed with the selection. Go an extra couple minutes south to the sobeys extra. Well worth it.

Been going here my whole life. Always have a sale or two and they price competitively. Safeway was bought out by Sobey's and ever since then they've only gotten better. There are some really creepy cashiers and the staff have a tendency to talk to each other instead of the customer. But overall the staff is decent.

Have never met a friendly staff member. Really expensive. Considering switching to another chain. Update: went into this store today and was brutally reminded why I stopped shopping here. I heard the manger say one thing, however he aggressively educated me otherwise. Clearly the anger towards customers starts at the top. I really hope they don’t spoil the super sweet cashier I had today. I will actively avoid this store in the future.

A great place to do everyday groceries. Its always very nice to have a store in your neighborhood. We normally go there to buy our everyday needs. Their pharmacy stuffs are very friendly. Our doctor always forward the prescription to them and they make it ready within a day most of the time.

If I could give it zero stars I would. What an annoying experience. There was only one check out open, there was employees standing looking at the giant line up, not giving a care in the world. Prices were super expensive. We eventually just dumped our stuff and left went to superstore, that experience was much better and faster.

50-50 gutshot if you're looking for fresh produce or consistent fruit. 10 registers and only 2 open... Including express. Seniors make regular trips by bus and the stores scheduler either hasn't caught on or doesn't mind customers waiting. If you're getting lunch meat bring a book to read while you wait. Gone way down hill since the Loblaws buyout, like night and day. 2 stars because the original staff was so awesome for so many years and should've got 5,but the store itself looks more like giant tiger these days. It's probably more the fault of Walmart than safeway, but it's brutal now.

Some things are expensive compared to Superstore and Walmart but their fruit section never fails. Customer service is really nice. A lot of $1 off dine tonight meat, their habanero and prepackaged lettuce sometimes are not the best. But you can basically find all you need. Their International section is okay, Not really alot for Africans.

Wonderful staff, by far one of the friendliest chain supermarkets there is. While shopping is not super different from many other stores, the staff are always there with a smile, and ready to help you. Our family actually knows a few people there, because of the frequent visits we make to the store. Nothing particularly special about the products, however.

Never thought I'd get a pre-seasoned piece of meat from a store but in a pinch we grabbed the Maple Chipotle Glazed Pork Tenderloin and it was amazing, Literally unwrap, pop in the over for half an hour, sit with tin foil for 10-15mins and Voila!! Only wish I could have taken a picture!! I did however make homemade Mac cheese with large shells, everything bought from my good ole Safeway <3

Do not use the basket sanitizer at the entrance! The MSDS clearly says avoid skin contact. The person at customer service could not explain how to use this without skin contact: I was told that customers should spray the provided towels and use the towels to wipe the baskets, if you are concerned about handling the sanitizer soaked towels, you can wear gloves. No gloves were available.

Pure negligence. My colleague and I happened upon your establishment after an oft chance jaunt to El Tigre Giante (Giant Tiger to you lay persons). At the sandwich counter I saw a sign for one such sandwich made of both chicken and artichoke hearts. Be still MY heart... artichokes are to DIE for. I promply waited for one of your deli baristas to come fetch my lunch when much to my chagrin, no one came. I even had to move out of the way of a manager who was trying to get by. I saw 3 workers behind the counter, none of which came to help me or my colleague. We left. Nary a sandwich in sight. Completely ignored. Will we ever venture back to this so called "safe way"? We shant. Take your one star and be off. I said good day. I SAID GOOD DAY. One of cashiers (White old lady, working on tuesday) told me "BYE NOW" when I was about to leave the store... I was just a kind customer and did anything wrong but she treated me like that and rushed me. I felt it sort of racism. Won't be coming back. I felt so bad.. but staffs I've encountered in Starbucks are always nice.

Their prices are starting to get closer to par with Sobeys, so still expensive, but not as bad. Their quality is in the upper middle-class for produce, but their meat quality is terrific, and their selection is good. The gluten-free section is fairly sparse, and doesn't seem to be refilled too often, but otherwise, friendly service, and a decent selection of food and home goods

Don't have a custom sandwich station if you're not going to be reasonable. The lady behind the counter at 1:00 on Friday June 14th wouldn't put more guacamole on my sandwich, it didn't even reach the edge of my bread and was paper thin. Then she told me my sandwich came with bacon and cheese (it never used to come with cheese) I said no to the cheese and asked for more guacamole instead she said that wasn't possible. She was ok to leave off the cheese but refused to give more guacamole. She also refused to heat the bacon, who wants cold bacon?? She said it can only be heated if I heated the whole sandwich! She also wouldn't cut it in half because it was already a half sandwich. Safeway sure has gone down hill in customer service, I will not be back.
