I would not recommend buying anything from them unless you want an unwelcome surprise. I made a purchase as a gift - they sent a much less expensive product (one that I would never have purchased had I known). And, while I understand that some things might be out-of-stock, their own substitution policy says they only substitute products of equal or higher value. I only found out because the person I sent the gift to sent me a photo of it. Not only did Hazelton's not notify me of the downgrade or follow their own substitution policy, they didn't respond to my first 2 attempts to reach them. And their resolution was not satisfactory.

Hazeltons is the worst, you can do better! Ordered early December for a local Montreal delivery on 12/22/21, Hazelton's attempted on 12/24 and location was closed (two days late), then never answered emails, tweets, and decided to deliver on the 29th.

Unfortunately I only saw the positive reviews before placing my order. The mini green Christmas tree that was ordered turned into a poinsettia plant. The 2 cakelettes were not what was ordered as well. Tracking system is terrible. You can't reach a live person on phone and get a standard bs email about delays. Do not order from this company!

Ordered a basket without checking the reviews. BIG mistake. Not only did my $144 basket never reach it’s destination, but it is also next to impossible to reach anyone at this company to follow up/track. Happily I used PayPal for the purchase and the refunded me for the non-existent basket. Unfortunately a family member didn’t get a Christmas gift this year.

Zero stars. This company is a fraud. Ordered a $90 gift basket five days prior to birthday, one week later it is still not delivered. So called customer service says once it’s sent to the shipper it is out of their control. Extremely poor business practice. I asked for a refund since nothing was delivered and they refuse. This place is a total SCAM: don't do it. Ordered a gift basket subscription for my dad with the first to arrive on Christmas Eve and it hasn't yet arrived. Their chat doesn't work, their phone goes to voicemail, half of their posted e-mails don't exist, and an auto-reply blaming their carrier comes from any valid e-mail on their website. After multiple calls and e-mails to cancel my subscription and refund for the non-received basket they- seemingly in retaliation- charged me again. Submitted a complaint to Consumer Protection Ontario today- encourage everyone burnt by them to do the same!

Ordered a basket before Christmas was supposed to arrive in the 17th, didn’t ship until the 27th. Numerous emails to cancel order went unanswered. In the end hi returned it at my cost and they didn’t refund the entire amount. AVOID THIS COMPANY, better gift baskets can be purchased locally.

Too bad I can't post without giving a star. Run away from this company if you ever thought about placing an order with them. Irresponsible and rude customer services. My order was placed 5 days before Christmas and today is already 3 days after New Year and my package was still not delivered. Customer service asked me to follow up with the courier!? Seriously ???? They don't know when the package will be delivered.. maybe until 2022 Christmas. They also don't want to do a refund for me. Such a scam and total waste of time.

How is this company STILL in business? Ordered a custom $125 "Get Well" basket for my ill friend so chose items carefully, especially two rare and expensive cheeses, which I knew she would enjoy once she felt better. Disappointingly, the two cheese delivered were cheap Havarti and Gouda! Also missing were selected dips and spreads, and tapenade. Again, I'd chosen these items because I knew my friend would enjoy them. Alas, when brought to Hazelton's attention, I was sent their "Substitution Policy." Fine, if missing items had been substituted by something other than air!! So, no - never again. And I'm telling everyone I know to stay away, as well.

Sent a gift basket to a client and they didn’t include the greeting card message or even a “from” section, so they had no idea who it came from! Ridiculous. They sent me a picture of the basket and it didn’t look anything like the photo. Now I’m embarrassed and incredibly disappointed.

Dreadful customer service. Do not order from them. Requested a delivery for a specific date. It was delivered 3days early to the wrong address. Half the food went bad. Had to deal with horrible manager who had the rotten basket sent to the correct address. Had to throw out 3 items and all the other food items were damaged. They would not replace the basket. Disappointing. They will ruin your surprise. I will caution everyone Iknow to not use this service. 1 star is one to many. Minus 10 would be more accurate.

100% of the order was incorrect and when I reached out to customer service, they replied with a template about how they have the right to substitute any item, how they have no control over requested products availablility, using delivery in a timely manner as an excuse for sending cheap **** while declaring a customer will receive "similar products of equal or greater value". One of the items was also nearly expired and they advised I consume it as soon as possible. Stay away from this scam.

Hundred times ZERO star. First time I had sent chocolate basket to my family from them and they sent empty boxes of chocolates and some of them filled with bad quality ones. Literally, this was my first time I had sent something to my family on Christmas that turned out to be so ugly. Don’t trust them. They are the scammers, defaulters every bad word for HAZELTON’S.

Last year I ordered a basket from this company. It was delayed well past the selected delivery window and the company suddenly became very difficult to contact when I required customer service. Despite missing the window and my cancelling of the order, the company did all it could to keep its money despite failing to deliver on time, ignoring cancellation and nonexistent customer service.

Biggest bait and switch I have ever seen in a company. I bought a gift basket for a significant other who has allergies to some of their products so that's why I carefully hand picked what was to be in the basket. Little do I know, Hazelton decided to change the cheeses to cheeses with nuts in them because they were "out of the original product and replaced it with similar ones". Without any alert or information! This is absurd and unacceptable. They could have caused my partner an anaphylactic shock - breaking Canada's food and safety regulations. Further more, their terms and conditions state they have the right to change the items around as they see fit. It was my fault I didnt check reviews first. Note to everyone: CHECK REVIEWS.

Terrible place to conduct business with. I ordered 24 baskets as holiday gift to my advisors and there was one basket in particular I wanted to personally deliver. The basket I received was incorrect and missing a greeting card. Trying to deal with their customer service department is a nightmare. From lack of effort on trying to investigate the situation, unresponsive on their client service lines, mis spelling of word within their email responses and zero urgency to rectify the situation. They mentioned substitutes were to happen, but an equal or greater in value replacement will be offered. I ordered Merry Christmas Basket of Treats (TWELVE ITEMS) $117 and received Christmas Tree & Sweets Gift Basket (SIX ITEMS) $56. The claim the basket I received has equal value to my original order, but upon photo and video evidence it was the same content as if I purchased the Christmas Tree & Sweets Gift Basket directly. It took 4 emails for someone to properly understand my concern. Thank you for wasting my time on all these email responses that led no where. I highly advise to look elsewhere for gift baskets.

Do not use them!! I’ve tried twice (don’t know why the second time). Every item you purchase will be substituted with something else that you didn’t choose. The items look absolutely nothing like the pictures and do not look good, especially the baked goods. They won’t refund for any items they didn’t send, or help in any way.

This company is the definition of unethical scam artistry. They will ruin your loved ones special occasion and embarrass you by sending damaged rotten food and dead flowers two weeks past your delivery date. They also replace high value items with cheap and incomparable alternatives. Customer service is non existent and you will get snapped at and hung up on if you do manage to get through to anyone. You’ll lose money and end up being mortified when your loved ones end up receiving the garbage they send. They also leave fake reviews, battle to get negative ones removed and keep changing their google business page to start fresh.

Horrible. We sent what we thought would be a beautiful gift basket to an important customer and it arrived late and damaged. No one answers the telephone and emails go unanswered. I am shocked that they are still in business.

DO NOT order from this place! Ordered baskets worth $160, a strawberry preserve bottle broken, broken glass and preserve everywhere in the basket, soiled the greeting card, left the whole package not in a condition to be gifted. Hazelton decides to refund me $5 for the broken bottle, and that's the best they can do. If you email them to question this refund, they stop replying to your emails to fix the issue.

My first experience with this company was a very late delivery. Weeks late, in fact. I let that slide and decided to give them second chance. Big mistake. This time I tried to change a delivery for a perishable fruit basket 2 days before it was to go out and it had already been sent to the warehouse. Not safe at all! Food safety is not considered. I do not recommend. And will not use them again.

Ordered a bottle of wine as a gift for someone. The delivery driver failed 3 attempts to deliver partly because he didnt read the delivery instructions and i was re charged a delivery fee every time. No choice for pickup either or to get a delivery time.I finally asked for a refund as I could not keep hassling the recipient for what was supposed to be a gift not a nusiance. They refused to give me a refund and my only choice was to keep paying delivery fees. 13$ bottle of wine turned into 100$ and three weeks later my gift still hasnt been delivered. I am still trying to figure out how to get my gift delivered. Horrible service horrible company procedures.

As with what other people have said DO NOT order from this company. Their website looks nice but what the recipient will actually get is a whole other thing. We ordered a nut and cheese basket for a co-worker and they received something completely different and not at all what they wanted or what we ordered and I'm pretty sure was not worth what we paid either. When you try to call customer service they tell you that you have to put your concern on email and then no one will answer you back. RUN don't walk away from this place. I wish I had of seen the reviews before placing the order. Just terrible.

Only half of the gift was delivered. After contacting customer service with a photo of what was delivered, and the order confirmation (which clearly shows missing flowers, a balloon and card), I was told “the items you have received are exactly what you ordered for” like some kind of bad Jedi mind trick. I’m still trying to track down where part two of the order is, and am so disappointed that the order didn’t arrive in whole. Would not recommend.

They also own: Hops Collective, BroCrates, Gifting Kosher, The North Pole Co., Monthly Sommelier, Good4You - do yourself a favour and stay FAR AWAY. Don’t know how they are still in business. Ordered a $600 beer subscription and website said delivery NEXT day…two days later NOTHING. I called, I emailed, nothing. At 8pm the night before Christmas I recieved an email saying after December 30th for delivery. No apologies, very arrogant and just don’t care. ZERO customer service - like NONE. What a joke of a place - ruined my husbands first Christmas as a dad. You should be ASHAMED of yourselves scamming people. Also beware MANY. PEOPLE showing on Facebook, you pay $60 for craft beer subscription and they’re sending bud light. Go to the beer store or contact a local craft brewery and support them. This place is awful! Luckily I figured it with just the one gift as I was prepared to send out 83 baskets to all my clients for happy new year thank god I’ll be able to avoid that. Terrible place

I have ordered three times from this company and all three recipients have loved the baskets. Two of them were the wine and fruit baskets with no upgrades and one basket that was the works (two wines, fruits, chocolates, cheese, dips...). Two delivered in Ontario and one delivered to the States. Delivery fee for the States was less than what I expected. All different price ranges and all happy recipients.

ABSOLUTE SCAM. Do not purchase from here! Was looking forward to sending a meaningful gift basket with specific items chosen. They sent completely different items, losing all purpose of the gift. When asked for a refund the customer service said they don't do refunds even if the items were different. I asked why they didn't notify me of the changes prior to sending the basket and customer service stopped responding to my emails. I had to go through my credit card company to get a credit card charge back which took up a lot of time and unnecessary stress. The online chat person said they would make changes to my order and that was not done either. Why lie about it? This company does not value their customers and has no care for customer satisfaction. Do not fall for their marketing schemes!

**BEWARE** DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! Website is deceiving (kudos to their marketing company!). Ordered a basket for a relative to celebrate his 80th birthday. It was delivered a day before (there goes the surprise and thankfully they were home), and NONE of the products, which I selected one by one, and made the price increase almost by double, were delivered! They were randomly substituted by their CHEAPEST selections of wines and cheeses. Then the customer service response (Naima/Senior Customer Service Representative) was basically that unfortunately I accepted their terms and conditions and sometimes the products "differ from the original product description". THIS IS A SCAM. It is needless to say that they didn't offer a refund or a replacement as any serious and reliable company would have done. I wrote a bad review (of course) which they didn't published (of course). The only 3 reviews for the NEW HARVEST WINE GIFT BASKET have 5 full stars, and are from 2018 and 2016. Shame on me for not having seen those important red flags... Don't waste your money, and shop around if you want to give a real memorable gift to a loved one.

Total scam company. Do not order from them. The basket arrived to my parents in disgusting condition. The wine and beer had exploded and soaked the entire contents in alcohol. Not to mention that the upgrades I purchased were not included. The cheese was a disgusting mess served on a paper plate. I contacted their customer service and they told me there would be no compensation and that my parents could just open the boxes and consume the contents - or not. Truly despicable in every way. Here is what to expect.
