Yesterday I bought some large size mild Italian fresh sausages, the recipe of which I liked, to put on the BBQ. They were so thirsty that we lost the desire to eat anything that evening. I regret that I did not keep them to meet the manager with to help their business. I hope this is a mistake and an isolated case that will not happen again, but personally I would not buy fresh sausages from this store anymore. Hier j'ai acheté des saucisses fraiches italiennes douces gros format, dont j’aimais la recette, pour les mettre sur le BBQ. Ils étaient tellement altérés qu’on a perdu l’envie d’en manger quoi qu’il soit dans la soirée. Je regrette de ne les ai pas gardés pour rencontrer le gérant avec pour rendre service à leur affaire. J’espère que c’est une erreur et un cas isolé qui n’arrivera plus mais personnellement je n’achèterais plus des saucisses fraiches dans ce magasin.

I have not stepped foot in this store in over four years now. I roughly calculate that their loss in revenue would be close to $20,000.00 ( I was spending nearly $400.00/month there) All this because he was too stubborn to take back a dozen or so empty aluminum cans. Ignorance can be painful and costly. I know that in the overall scheme of things my $20,000.00 is small change to this store but I still accomplished my goal. Never spend another dime in this establishment. Frutta Don't Si. I had purchased for over $10,000.00 from this retailer the last two years and today I arrive with some refundable cans but because their 'machine was broken', they refused to refund my deposits. I travel to their location by bicycle and my intention was to purchase several items during this visit. But because I had my back-pack filled with returnable aluminum cans, I was unable to make any purchases. It was one of the owners who actually refused my request and when I mentioned the amount of business I had given them over the years. (I have been shopping there for more than five years) He reaction was just to laugh in my face. Unless he apologizes to me to my face, they have seen the last of me. His loss. Update: I reported this incident to recyc-quebec.gouv.qc.ca and they sent an inspector to make enquiries. His report to me was that he had spoken to the manager and mentioned that the store has an obligation under the law to refund recyclable containers regardless of whether or not their machine is operational. The response from the manager was that it was probably a misunderstanding by one of their employees. The problem I have is that it was the manager who refused to take my returns. I don't know how many managers there are at this store and which one he may have spoken to. All I know is that the person who rejected my returns is a manager (owner) and his name is Ralph. So if by chance that was that person he spoke to, then he lied. If he spoke to someone else, then there is certainly a lack of communication within that establishment.

I buy my lamb shoulder steaks and chicken kebabs here because of the quality , price and freshness. Staff are friendly and helpful . Lots of Italian food selection. Produce is more affordable than bigger chains. Great same day delivery , better than IGA. Lots of selection for pannetonne (italian cakes) during the holidays . They have a gluten free section. Just wish they carried organic breads (frozen), vegan ice cream and almond flour .

There is always a bit of a weird smell in this store and the fruit always go bad really quickly. This store (that I used to work at lol) had a very specific clientele. You can still find most of what you might look for in a regular grocery store but this store is aimed at Italian shoppers. But still, the inside of the store and the state of the cashes look very old and dated. Even the lighting is kind of dull. However, if you need cold cut and that Italian catnip cake, this is the place to get it.

Very disappointed with Frutta Si. My 93 year old mother had all her groceries delivered from here. When I checked out some of the new groceries she received on February 27, 2018, I saw the eggs were dated December 25, 2017! I then started checking other groceries and her orange juice was dated January 8, and the sausages were dated two days before she ordered! I called very upset and wanted to speak with the manager who wasn't in at the time. I told the woman who answered the phone what my complaint was since she was the person my mother always dealt with and she said it wasn't her but maybe someone else in the store. Totally missing the point that the expired food should be even in the store to sell! She then told me the manager was now in and I asked to speak with her. After waiting for quite a while on hold, I can only imagine she was telling the manager what my complaint was, she returned telling me the manager was too busy to speak with me. Selling expired food to senior citizens is an issue the manager felt too busy to deal with!! I asked my mother to never shop there again for her own safety. Full disclosure, they offered to replace the food if I returned it. I refused not seeing any reason I should go out of my way and they refused to deliver a replacement. Please for your own health check the expiry dates on your food! They still never called to apologize to my mother!

Italian choices and selection are a far cry from Milano's in little Italy. Times have changed in LaSalle. It used to be geared more to Italians, buy not anymore. The fruit is very average to below (an apple doesn't last 5days) average. The cold cuts are staffed by students, so getting your cheese grated will be chunky. Went during COVID (Aug 2020) to get some Porcini mushrooms since I couldn't find them elsewhere. They didn't seem to be enforcing social distancing or masks very much which was worrisome, but they did make you sanitize your hands at the door. I found dried Porcinis in bags stapled to a display so that all the bags were punctured and no longer sealed. Would be wary about going back, but they did have a lot of variety as promised, and the mushrooms were tasty in the end.

Not the best grocery store I've been to but probably one of the better ones in the area as there are not any other options. They sell inferior Italian goods considered cheap and low quality in Italy. Prices for Italian goods are not any cheaper where I would pay in Montreal. Not worth a trip for me.

The Salmon has been bad latley with dark streaks running threw it so i no longer trust this store. Sometimes they don't have the basics forcing me to go to a second store for my dinner recipe. Some of the checkout girls make me feel like I am nothing more than a burden to them, I even had one scold me for not packing my own groceries. It is too bad as they have a good selection and I would like to shop here but been disapointed too many time now.

Great Italian grocery store. Always good specials and the best prices on fresh chicken wings. Be sure to check when buying tomatoes on clearance for the odd bad ones in the package, while the price is low I think they often have produce near the end of the best before date. Other than that caveat this is a great place. Also one of the best places to get 00 flour if you make your own pasta and pizza dough!

Believe it or not, Frutta Si refused to take that bag back…despite 15 years of buying from them and spending $75,000 in their store. It's over for me, I'm not going there anymore. With all the other grocery stores around, I'd go elsewhere. What a funny business practice. (Original) Pendant 15 ans, je suis allé chez Frutta Si une ou deux fois par semaine. Avec des achats d’environ 100 $ par semaine, j’ai donc dépensé 5000 $ par année, pour un total de 75 000 $ sur 15 ans. Oui oui… 75 000 $. Pour la première fois en 15 ans, j’ai retourné un produit qui n’était pas bon… un sac de pretzel immangeable qui sentait la peinture et qui était vendu 2,89 $. Croyez-le ou non, Frutta Si a refusé de reprendre ce sac… malgré 15 ans d’achats chez eux et 75 000 $ dépensés dans leur magasin. C’est terminé pour moi, je n’y vais plus.
