This Fruit Store is classified in the category of Grocery store.
Very crowded. Poor availability of flyer items. Long lines with few registers open.
The best place for fresh veggies and fruits (I am sure there are a bunch of other things too)
Been shopping grocery here for a long time. Produce is often fresh here and other things are of high quality as well. Alcoholic beverages such as wine and beer are sold too. There is also a small pharmacy and florist.
Fairly good Sobey’s great customer service clean it’s a grocery store only shop here a few times and it’s a 24 hour store. Overall very impressed and it is the only 24 hour store in Waterloo region that I know of.
Update your hours.
The store is nice and clean and the staff is friendly, but I do my grocery shopping next door at Wal-Mart because they overprice everything.
Decent selection, not as organized as the Northfield store.
some of the staff there act all high and mighty yelling at customers about following the signs on the floor when there is hardly anyone in there at 8 am.
Good Sobeys store with a huge area!
More selection than highland road and good self checkouts...simple and easier than zehrs.
Good place for a quick shopping. Fresh vegetables and fruits are always available.
Awesome fresh food. Amazing customer service, and convenient location.
I have found their fruits and vegetables to be better than the other store in the area.
Prices are a bit higher than other grocery stores but Sobeys has a lot of quality products.
Well stocked and decent variety of items.
One of the few if only 24 hour grocery store open when I get off work at 4:00 am
Don't know why, but I always liked this location. Almost never end up in the area, but if I ever go here, I always like it.
Good selection of deli meat. Not too busy even on a Saturday afternoon.
Great selection of produce just a bit pricey!
Good value organic section.
I've been to many other Sobeys around town and this one is easily one of the better ones. It's got lots of selection, friendly staff and perhaps the only Sobeys that has self checkout machines that not only take cash payment but also have a CASHBACK option. All the other locations have self checkout that accepts debit only and definitely do not have cashback. They have a decent organic / health section, large bakery and many ready made items in the hotfood area. Not to mention it's open TWENTY FOUR HOURS/24 Hours.
It's Sobeys so it's always overpriced but at midnight, it's the best selection available.
Clean. Had all the veggies we wanted. Quick cashier service. Friendly deli counter.
Good service, good meat section and produce. A bit on the pricey side
Store hours claim they are open till midnight. Not true. They close at 10. Dont waste your time driving all the way over there.
Friendly staff, clean store, fresh produce, sufficient parking and good wine selection...from Wine Rack! ????
Don't trust the store hours posted on Google, this location is not open until midnight.
Hands down the best place in the city to buy organic blueberries. Somehow, no matter the season, these guys always have awesome organic blueberries!
Always so clean, and the checkout staff are unbelievably friendly.
Fresh fruits but a little more customer friendly price tag would help... other than that it's pretty good and 24/7 is a plus
It’s a good store. Not always the best prices.
Good shopping space but a little pricey.
Clean, well stocked and a good selection of fresh produce which is what i usually come here for. The prices for the produce is a bit on the high side. They usually have well priced sea food. I wish they would ban single use plastic bags.
Place is confusing. Sometime they are open till 11. Sometimes they are closed at 10. Place is the same as any other sobeys from the employees to the products
Items are good, a bit costly but most of them are quality products
Love their food just that the delis heater tray seems as irt is set at too hi a temp so I visually inspect the chicken before I buy to see if it's jerky if not delicious
Staff is not at all friendly. They don't care to help when asked. One of the managers during evening shift spoke in a harsh way to me. People like him need to stop considering these stores as thier own personal property, as it doesn't belong to thier Dad. Walmart is just the next door and people over there are far better.
Clean and organized, friendly staff great fresh produce
Good selection and well looked after facility.
A bit expensive compared to Walmart. I love their dessert section.
No bags available at self check out
Great selection. Staff are always willing to help. Prices are a bit higher than other stores but you get what you pay for.
They have a great selection of fresh stuff, and a decent deli counter. It's much pricier than other places--I do my shopping elsewhere most of the time, for less. All in all, this Sobeys is clean and quiet at night, and I'd go here again for an emergency grocery shop, if needed.
Very clean, very organized store. To top it off, the staff made me feel like I was the only customer they had that day; the service is second to none.
Great place for us middle of the night shoppers. Open 24 hours.
I love coming here on a date with my girlfriend!
Its sobeys. But 24 hours. Good for night shift or afternoon workers.
You’ll find better fruits and vegetables from Walmart next door ????????♂️
This Sobeys is open 24 hours which makes it a saving grace for those few times I've needed to go shopping after 11PM. Otherwise nothing special.
Probably the best Sobeys I've been to. Staff is great, prices are reasonable and lines are never long. Best of all, they're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Can't go wrong with those hours!! ????
Great produce. Always clean. Friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more.
Buying in bulk is mostly a bargain deal at Sobeys. Also excellent customer service.
Meh, the only issues with any of Bridgeport plazas stores...the location.
I’ve taken countless trips to this Sobeys location to get some of my groceries but today was the first time I felt racially profiled by one of your employees. It’s hard to explain it unless you go through it yourself and it really hurts.
As far as local grocery store chains go this is one of the better stores. Really good assortment of food types and a decent produce section. Best of all it's very clean!
How hard is it to post the store's actual hours on the door, under that giant "Open 24 Hours" sign? No returns accepted, even for spoiled food. It's been months since Covid started. Get your house in order, management.
Only place where grumpy old employees do not ever smile. They constantly forget to ask for Air Miles and it's the only place where in my late 40's I get always asked for ID when buying alcohol. The LCBO and the beer store and Loblaws doesn't do this. It's just annoying having to make sure I don't forget my ID card at home.
Just went in for a few groceries nothing much had good service all around...
Always has everything I need. Fresh, quality produce but as you would expect a bit more expensive than the "value" grocery stores.
Loved cakes
Very poorly stocked, not very clean. If you need any specialty foods for allergies or otherwise, don't even bother with this location. Produce is also often rotting and in poor condition. The only value of this location is the hours.
Great grocery store plus really good staff.
Oddly, the BEST flower shop in kitchener waterloo. Don't take my word for it, go get some.
Terrible parking. Always under construction. Awkward layout. Staff not friendly.
High quality chicken and beef. Hot deli provides a great variety of options for lunch breaks.
Ok
It's so hard to find 24 how paces any more. This place was a lifesaver to get some late night OTC pain relievers.
This is a great Sobeys, new one on Weber near Westmount is better but this one is very good.
Pricier than Freshco, Walmart, Zehrs and Valumart. I prefer to shop at Sobeys because the produce is fresher and they offer student discounts for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (as opposed to just Tuesday like Zehrs and Valumart). The staff is generally helpful in finding very specific items. I don't normally shop on weekends but when I did, they were giving away so many free samples it reminded me of Costco.
Great selection of items! I have never left without something I needed, they are always well stocked and have everything I am looking for.
Great selection. Hours are amazing and the beer selection and stocking is always full!! You can buy beer and wine about an hour longer then the lcbo. Friendly staff and pleasant vibes.
Good selection, good checkout layout
Overpriced grocery store for the demographics of the area for employment the parking lot is horrendous
Open 24-7 with reasonable prices best selection in the area, lots of free parking
My favourite place to play scare the pedestrians. Good selection
Great and big store in general. Lots of quality local goods from Ontario. While the bakery is quite expensive they do use unbleached wheat flour which is definitely a plus.
You always find great fresh food and specials at Sobeys. Has great selection of wine and beers. You also get airmiles with every purchase. Friendly, helpful staff with wheelchair access and parking.
Employee took off their mask while working with the meats that were on the shelves. Multiple customers walking around without masks covering their face properly.
My favourite place to shop! Always clean and the staff are very friendly.
Decent service, nice selection. Open 24 hrs. Be prepared to wait in line or use self checkout. My favorite Sobeys
Clean, well stocked store. Pricey, as usual. Shop around.....
Love that you can get everything here....including all alcohol!
I love going to this Sobeys! The ladies who work the morning shift are so friendly, especially Joyce! The staff are overall very helpful! Even if I were to move away from this part of Waterloo I'd still make a trip to this location.
So much vegan food. Love the selection
Nice clean store prices are a bit high
Rather poor selection of beef options, went in looking for some steaks and was very disappointed. Only to find roasts and large packages of steaks (4-6). They were all very overpriced, their bread department was very disorganized and their gluten free section was inconsequential. Overall if I needed something I could probably get it here, but I'd rather go somewhere else if I could. If I had to go here it would do, but its not a preferred option by any means.
Friendly and helpful staff. I enjoy shopping here.
Open 24 hrs and all their produce are fresh. I can always find what Im looking for. Some of the same products are marked up much more then other similar stores which is why I deducted 1 star.
Found the staff less than friendly. Only 2 cashiers open, used the self checkout as I was in a hurry. It's likely the worst I've ever experienced. I've shopped at the Sobeys on the Williamsburg plaza for 6 years. Moved so this one is closer but I won't be going much.
Good selection of high quality food, well maintained, and good location.
Excellent and fast service, had everything that we were looking for if a bit overpriced
I was disappointed when they killed the Sobey's Points program and partnered with AirMiles as the Sobey's points had a far better redemption scale. I was also very disappointed when they scaled back Student's discount days from T/W/T to just beinh on Tuesday. Valu-mart picked up the 3 days though.
Sobeys is always well kept in my experience. Sometimes it's hard to find a staff to bother, but generally things are organized straightforwardly enough. Of course you will find some things cheaper at its neighbour, Walmart, but I'm more inclined to buy fresh meats and produce here anyway after some iffy experiences with old meats and less than fresh produce at Walmart. Stick to flyer prices, and you should be fine.
Great selection, also as a side bonus it's in a great location. Right beside a Walmart and bulk barn
Good stuff, decent price, love the paper bags
Thank you so much for your quick response and actions with my order! I am amazed at the diverse level of grocery and floral products and level of service that Sobeys Bridgeport has to offer.
i dont like the lighting, it doesnt make you want to shop there
Super nice cashiers.
Really clean, great selection, pastries are really good for a grocery store
I was very disappointed to see only about 10% of employees wearing face masks. Not to mention all the customers going without.
Very nice and clean sobeys. Doesn't have a weird smell when you walk in like the one on highland.
Probably has the freshest produce and highest quality groceries. A bit pricey, but they have a 10% student discount Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
I find this store has the best selection of fresh produce in this area. It might slightly more expensive than some other local grocery stores but I feel the prices are justified for the quality you get. I also love that this location is open 24 hours!
We go there weekly for great fresh produce and great sales
Great selection great people and great prices
Nice store. Much better selection than others in KW
Really good pricing, deals getting better. Products needed are almost always in stock
Prices are a bit high, great for fresh food and the self checkout is very convenient
Easy to find what I'm looking for staff are very friendly a pleasure to shop there
Is it really that hard to update the store hours?
They have some of the best cakes and quality products.
Good location, clean store and good selection. Parking lot can be busy but they are open late.
Please update your hours. People have probably wasted hours of their lives getting here only to find out the store is closed. It takes 10 min to do.
Huge amount of supplies, very neat and clean as well the service is amazing! ????
I must give kudos to Sobeys for hiring people directly and not relying on temp agencies.
Good already made food. But your employees shouldn't wear green aprons outside the store going into another store. Cross contamination.
I’ve shopped at Sobeys Bridgeport for years. They are quite a bit more expensive than most grocery stores in the city but I continued going because of habit, hours, and their selection of produce. In the last year I’ve had a few bad experiences and tonight after another I won’t be returning. l guess I’ll be saving some money!
Came to Sobeys and asked for a small cart. The young lady leaned on the cart and said no, pointed straighted to the bigger cart and replied “No, just that”. I was thinking “why? What is your job” and she threw me a shady look. I think she hates the job so much... Good selection but bad experience service. She needs more training how to treat customers probably!
Good and organised, a little bit pricy than competitors.
This store is absolutely incredible the quality of the products the display how clean it is one awesome store.
Steady. Usually good deals. Prices aren't bad. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Being open 24 hours is handy.
Very nice to shop at clean.well organized.cashiers are very nice when in line
Beautiful sobeys location, decent / reasonable prices. Everything was clean and well organized. Produce and meat looked fresh and well stocked. The cashier at night was quick, friendly and genuinely a nice guy! I love that its 24 hours, my only complaint is that they lock the bathrooms at 10pm. I was there after midnight as I work late afternoon's and its the best time to shop and having to pee while grocery shopping isn't fun. I understand that it's the middle of the night and sketchy things happen however someone should have a key and be able to use their best judgement as there isnt any place around that Is open to be able to go to the washroom.
Great cashiers who do their job and willing to help. Products are decent as well
Good selection, very expensive
Don't go through the self check-out if you want to be treated like you're an idiot. Before I even turned around to look at the self check-out lady, Casandra, she scoffed at me and rolled her eyes because I selected the wrong produce, even though it was the only one I saw listed for my item. I honestly will probably never go to this Sobeys again because I don't feel like getting attitude while trying to buy my groceries.
I never did like Sobeys
It's alright, guess I'm used to zhers in the fact that I don't know where anything is ( not where you'd think it would normally be) and the brand's are different as well as super high prices.
Love the service and quality. Karen and Joyce are the best employees ever!
Guys comparative to walmart its expensive but you can get beers/wine if you drink. I guess only benefits from buying from Soybes would be its eggs(white ones), like you can get 30 eggs for $11/$12.
I love the Bakery, the seafood and meat section.
The bread selection is fantastic and the store is clean. The setup however feels thrown together. All in all a nice grocery store.
I really like the beer and wine section here. They have a giant fridge and a great selection of cold beer. Stay out of the pasta sauce aisle though - that’s where the students shop.
Great staff. Fresh produce. Ample parking.
Kudos to management and the whole Sobeys team - I've been going here regularly for two years and the weekday/daytime staff are so friendly and helpful and the store is clean with good products.
Black Friday special and out of it at 7am. Meat manager Ed, very rude, says he won't get more for an hour he tells us. I don't start until 7 and walks away. unacceptable behaviour.
Shelves are always full and store is clean. Friendly staff and open 24/7.
Firstly, the staff is really nice. Location is also very good.
Damn this is pretty much they only 24/7 Sobeys in the area now, Hallelujah! For this store!
Always has tons of sales and great produce. The meat is excellent cuts and everything is in stock. Plus there you can collect airmiles
Always a good place to shop. Have everything I need!
Fresh veggies (way better than Walmart next door). Great fresh meats and bakery selection. Though slightly more expensive than usual, the 10% student discount on Tuesdays-Thursdays makes it worth it.
This 24 hour sobeys is pretty popular with the bicycle enthusiasts during the late night hours. The people hanging around outside can usually get you whatever you need. During the day its pretty busy but I dont really go there during the day
In the bread area where the pastrys are kept the right shelf door is missing and hundreds of small flies are all over the croissants, doughnuts and other pastrys. Needs to be addressed.
Not the best quality for the price, but it's still one of my favorite stores.
Great grocery store and Open 24 hours. Wish it had some Indian groceries as well.
Well stocked and not too busy
Self-checkouts are the worst in the industry. Sobeys system considers every user to be a thief, not only of merchandise but also of bags, until proven otherwise. Very user-hostile settings that detract from the otherwise positive experience of shopping there.
Especially the OLG should be closed at this location ,horrible service and they will give you unreasonable excuses. They are not ready to serve customers .The front end manager David is uncooperative and unhelpful.I noticed also the self checkout machines they aren't sanitized often. But they are advertising and pretending as they follow covid guidelines.
Great selection, great staff, always clean. ????
Friendly staff. Parking lot can be a bit of a mess and the store is often packed with students.
I always have a great shopping experience here overall. The stores clean and they often have what I'm looking for in stock. They have great selection for deli, bakery and hot foods! They also do really good cakes! 4* only because I think they're a little over priced on some items and don't have the greatest sales. Also I like being able to collect air miles but the program doesn't feel as rewarding as others.
Great staff , good prices. Even quailifed for a 10 dollar gift card ????
Nice, big store. It's clean, well-stocked, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Very disappointed. My boyfriend went to get groceries, they over-packed the bags to the point that ALL THREE bags broke on his walk to the car. If that wasn't bad enough, when he got home, he realized after he ate one of the meat sticks that the whole bag had mold inside. Very expensive and disgusting trip for broken jars and mold.
Expensive, but much nicer than the Walmart in the same plaza. Not overly large, but do have a lot of special diet foods. Would not recommend going for staple items here, but for speechwriter and higher end chain groceries it's good. The plaza is a bit chaotic.
The fresh fruit/salad counter is amazing. I called 2 ask if they had the tropical fruit salad they had Friday. They didn't but they made it fresh. The ladies on the fresh counter are always really good, they made a Cesar salad with out the bacon for me. Just give them time and they will prepare it for you when possible.
Pharmacy staff are friendly and approachable and very efficient. Love them!
Great place to buy fresh produce and wine. Friendly staff.
Very clean, friendly service, well stocked store.
Sometimes I can find spoiled beef with nasty color and smell.
Staff are so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I'm recognized here and treated very well. Yesterday I happened to be shopping for houseplants and the lovely florist was a big help as always, and taking into consideration that we choose safe.plants for our dogs. I'm very pleased as usual
Good fresh produce, deli is good and they sell " flow water" there.
The cakes at the bakery section are too sweet! Bought it from there twice, and both times it was just too sweet. Not buying the next one from there!
Nice store. I like that it's open 24 hours!!????
I was super disappointed and grossed out to see how the evening manager (short, moustache, bald - approx 9:40 pm on Mon Nov 5) was harassing two young shoppers for “acting weird”. I overheard the entire interaction and witnessed him stalking them around the store, watching them down each isle and singling them out for their mannerism and not for any actual crime. At the end of the interaction the manager still had no real grounds for making them leave but, still insisted they exit because they were getting upset over the unprofessional and tacky treatment. Justifiably so. As as an owner / operator of two successful local businesses who also employs young people and as someone who had a “rough past”, I know how horrible and detrimental this sort of treatment can be for anyone of any age. The victims had dyed hair, ripped jeans and piercings...all things I once possessed and all things that got me vilified by ignorant folks who know very little about the world and life beyond the little ones they pursue. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Great food! Clean! Lovely service!
a few savages of customers left their carts around my parked car making my previously thought swift exit seem like a strenuous ordeal, however I closed the book on my newfound horror story far to soon! a friendly Sobeys employee "Josh" quickly recognized my peril and jumped into action removing the menacing carts from my vicinity allowing my departure of Bridgeport Sobeys to resume unimpeded. many thanks to this top notch example and further benchmark of what I now know to be revered person!
Good selection, a bit pricey, doing a good job with Covid. Staff has always been great in my experience.
Thank you Sobeys for selling these!
My go to grocery store as it's 24hrs. Great bday cakes. Nice deli and bakery. Friendly staff and always clean. Wide selection of brands and great produce. Wish they had a points system instead of airmiles. Last time I was there after 11 washrooms were locked which was annoying. I'm sure they have their reasons but it was still frustrating. They have beer and wine aswell. Prices aren't the best in the city but always something on sale. BRING BACK SOBEYS POINTS.
Has lactose and gluten free grocery options for those requiring them.
Great to be able to buy beer there when the lcbo & beer store are closed
The BEST cake designers (and delicious cake, too)! For two years in a row, this Sobeys location has done such an amazing job decorating my daughters birthday cakes. Both times, I selected from their order book and asked them to custom the colour scheme a little bit and they have done an amazing job! Very impressed!
I will not support Sobeys because of there human rights violation in New Brunswick denying unvaccinated people in there store. I will not return until Sobeys apologize and legal reparations are made to all Canadian
Love love !ove .this store. Fresh produce staff so helpful and always ready to upgrade their products. Meats are the best and the butcher is great at cutting just what I want. After years of using the competition due to close proximity and big name left due to totally poor service and apathy towards produce.
Great quality products, nice selection.
Very polite helpful nice people we where asked to come back since the person didn't,t have the answer,s but did give us the person,s name and when they would b back
Awesome place when you have 3 AM munchies and don't want to spend triple the price at a corner store, so much cheaper than 711, hasty mart, short stop, or gas stations. Except sometimes that late means there is only one cashier so there can be long lineups
Good place for gluten free aa they have a good size health food section.
Good selection of ready made salads and hot foods. Overall store is pricey.
After seeing the cashier last night I'm never shopping here again. Ilona was rude, disrespectful and probably has no kind word in her vocabulary. I don't need to hear "you think vou'd do my job better" after she mixed up my plantains for bananas and i pointed that out. I've seen this lady before but never have i been so disrespected. i feel almost as if she was racist towards the people in front of me, partly because they were ESL. Never shopping here again.
The night manager was very mean and in your face type of guy. Stopped shopping there bc of him!
Great store for those who like beer and wine you can buy it with your groceries
I was very happy to see that this Sobey's store on Bridgeport has set up a memorial display for Remembrance Day. Way to go!!! It is good to see that this company is not all about making money. I had just came from Zehr's on University Avenue and there is nothing to indicate recognition of our war vets. Shame on Zehr's!!!!
really??no airmiles for 500 dollars in gift cards??the real question is,"does sobeys want my business"?i buy 500 to 1000 in cards every week and always got airmiles..no straight answers, just alit of hot-air and misdirection..very poor customer service...i will consider taking my 1000 dollars a week to another grocer!!!
I definitely would recommend this location if you’d like to get amazing customer service. In my last two trips in the last week or two I’ve been serviced amazingly! My cashier named Noah had to deal with a woman who got mad about him asking for ID(everyone gets carded) and he calmed her down and apologized for the inconvenience. It takes a mature person to deal with a situation the right way. I thought that showed professionalism at this sobeys verses northfield! When I got to his till he had AMAZING customer service and helped me locate a product I forgot! I will definitely call in to put more kind words into this cashier! Yesterday I had a cashier named Cali and she was more than kind! I want managers to know how well all these cashiers are doing and that they really are living up to customer service standards! They’d make amazing additions to any sorts of promotions!? Amazing staff! Love this location!
Great! Clean. Employees are friendly
Always have a great shopping experience at this store
Best produce ,24 hour works well cuz I work evenings. Never met a bad staff member.
Great selection of international snacks
Well-stocked, nice deli and prepared foods, helpful and polite staff
Not really sure when this place closes. Sometimes it's 10pm, sometimes 11pm, sometimes 12am.
Used to be open 24h until covid restrictions came in, but they still have long hours. Location sells wine and beer. Cheap Walmart is next door, but I still get fresh produce from Sobeys so that it lasts more than two days.
Always helpfull staff.
Very pricy compared to other big box stores
Pricing in flyer did not match sticker pricing. When inquiring about it, manager (who was the first person available for assistance) got defensive and patronizing. Did not even bother to check the discrepancy. Unprofessional and unhelpful. Walmart has better service and pricing accuracy.
They had the dumplings I was looking for. The cashier was really nice. But we waited in line for over 20mins. Its was 12am and the one line wrapped around the store with probably 30 costumers. Probably a fluke but my experience was pretty bad.
Dont buy anything from the warm, to go meals they sell rotten smelling pizza and freezer burnt dried out chicken tenders and potato wedges
Got my flu shot which I booked online the same day. Also bought some Sushi Rice which isn't available at many stores.
Very rude cashier. Will not shop there anymore. Felt sorry for the gentleman.
EXTREMELY rude staff at the self-checkout, especially the lady with the blonde shoulder cut hair(age 30-40, April 5, at noon) When I was checking out, the machine kept popping out “need staff assistance” or “remove your bag” for at least 20 times, and I am not exaggerating. This staff kept showing me cold face and acted like it is my fault. She told me to “Go to the cashier”, “This is why you need to go to the cashier” while glaring at me. Also, she kept telling me to “step away from your friend” for social distancing, but we came to shop and were paying for the groceries together. Her attitude DISGUSTED me and Sobeys need to train this kind of staff before letting them ruin customer satisfaction. I would avoid going to Sobeys just because I do not like being treated like this for grocery shopping.
Big store lots of variety. Good produce and bakery. Deli doesn't have the biggest selection but they do have a large hot deli. Butcher and fish monger are somewhat small but usually have what your looking for. Large health food section and pharmacy. The people working in the wine and beer area are super friendly. The people work at the tills are hit and miss.
Went in to get some late night snacks, found what we were looking for. Then noticed it was on sale because the sign under the shelf where the product was had bright yellow signage. Great! Went to checkout and it scanned at regular price. Told the cashier about it and she said no its not on sale and she started getting offended. As if we insulted her item scanning skills...which we didnt. Showed her the product in the flyer and she said no its a different variety thats on sale not what we were getting. Which was fine. we understood and agreed but told her that the items were placed on a shelf with the sale items so told her it is misleading, suggested they may want to change the sign under the item so other customers dont get confused as well. The cashier Ilona then proceeded to gettjng all offended and shoving the flyer in my face and saying "Cant you read? it says right there!" I was very shocked at this "woman's" reaction to me simply offering a suggestion. I understand you are working nightshift on a saturday night and may hate it but that's no reason for you to act like a child. She was very rude, very unprofessional and that was the worst customer service i had ever experienced in my life. My friend and i that were there both had worked in customer service so we are more aware of when we recieve good or bad service and we were just shocked that this "woman" could speak to anyone like that. especially when we were being polite and just offering a mere suggestion. The cashier Ilona then proceeded to huffing and puffing and getting a grocery shelf personnel to go check the signage and he came back and said yes item is wrongly placed but our item isnt on sale. Ilona then proceeded to say "see i was right" and furthered trying to demean us. The point wasnt to save a couple bucks, whatever we were gonna pay it anyways it was 2 am and we wanted our snack. The thing was how rude the cashier was and how she treated us as if we were stupid and didnt understand english. Just because we are foreign looking doesnt mean we werent born and raised in Canada and doesnt mean we can't read. This cashier was rude, ignorant and lowkey racist. Sobeys you gotta teach your cashiers on better customer service skills!!!
Nothing but scammers. They sell me broken eggs, then they don't return it using COVID as an excuse. They should all be sued for fraud.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Great for groceries, lamb and fish shopping, sometimes the produce is not fresh
Ashley in the bakery helped us solve our gingerbread house emergency. Super good Friday night.
Very simple to get what I needed, though the cashiers had longer lines. I was willing to wait instead of using self-checkout.
Good store, well stoked
Great friendly staff good quality produce. Friendly staff. Was so kind as to card me even though my greys need a touch up!
Fresh, almost always clean. Friendly staff. It's on the expensive side but I think it's worth it considering its quality.
This Sobey's is pretty good; everything is easy to find and not badly priced either. I had a really nice cashier named Taylor who was very easy to make conversation with, she was quick to scan my items, and made enjoyable conversation while doing so. This is my go to grocery store
A good selection of products that are fresher and of better quality than many other grocers. Excellent sales. Not as good a variety of offerings as some of the other locations such as the Boardwalk.
24h market is nice. Meat is fresh and has decent marbling. There is an okay to good selection of items located in the aisles and there are some international items that can be bought. Sometimes there are oxidized steaks however most of the sterling silver brands are fresh and high-quality Self-checkout is about as good as other places.
If you buy alcohol, go through Customer Service Checkout. You cannot pay for it at a regular cashier or self scan!
I luv Sobeys, all find what I need, very pleasant. The you man who rang me out was so nice.....
A nice Sobeys !! An older store but still quite busy.
Good selection of groceries, fresh baked goods etc
Food and Staff always good - helpful, pleasant and courteous.
With the winter mess outdoors, the store was very clean. Got the few items I needed and checked out without any delays. Nice!
They've got everything you'd expect, and more. Fresh produce, great selection, open 24 hours.
This used to be my "go to" store. Unfortunately they have a very small egg section now and do not carry 18 pack of eggs. They also had no relish on my last shopping trip. I will staying away from this store, the one on Weber/Northfield is too small and not as great when they moved locations. Sobeys will be receiving less business from me.
Racially profiled by a male cashier that works nights named Adam with short brown hair. Very rude manner. When he served caucasian guests he was welcoming. When he served me he eyed me up and down for coming in to only buy a few items and treated me with a cold stare the whole time. Guess you can’t expect much from a mere cashier. Not surprised with reading other reviews with other customers feeling the same.
Everything is always fresh. The store is clean. The meat department has all the best cuts and very professional butchers can custom cut anything you want.
Very helpful staff at the self-checkout kiosk. Good selection of fresh produce.
Very clean and neat. Brightly lit. Good customer service.
Easy to wander about and check out the specials. Sandwiches are really good!
Clean bright and better prices than Zehrs. I never feel like I've overpaid for the exceptional quality of prepared food and packaged meat. The seafood counter always displays the freshest, highest quality. You see the pride and care taken …
Always my go to store for what I need, and prices are WAY better than Walmart
This is a great store, and a really convenient location. The produce was fresh, and they had just about every fruit and veggie that a shopper could want. They also have locally grown produce, which is great to support local farmers. Eating organic is also a priority of mine, and there was an abundance of fresh, organic bananas, which made for a perfect desert. I am so happy I had the chance to shop here. The parking was also helpful, as I was with my mother-in-law, who uses a walker. The handicap spot was right next to the door, and we had no trouble getting to and from the store.
My friends and I were looking to do a couple groceries tonight and were unsure if Sobey’s was opened as it is Good Friday today so we called the location only to be greeted extremely rudely and disrespectfully. Here is how the conversation went: Sobey’s clerk: hello? My friend: hi, are you guys opened today? Clerk: it’s Good Friday...... Friend: sooo... are you not open? Clerk: well it’s a holiday, is it not?...(extremely sarcastically) Friend: sooo... no? Clerk: *laughs* goodbye (and hangs up on us) We were made to feel very stupid for asking a simple question about whether the store was opened or not. His tone and language was demeaning and derogatory and his excessive sarcasm only added to the subpar attendance. All we were looking for was a yes or no answer however what we received instead has us questioning whether we will ever go to Sobey’s again.
Grt place to shop. Fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced. Grt variety.
Fairly clean. Had a few issues with sale labels still on after sales had ended.
Got sick from the Chinese lemon chicken & fried rice in their readymade take home food section - disappointed is an understatement. I visit this store for fresh baked goods if I'm going to the neighbouring Walmart for the rest of my groceries. Sobeys prices are higher than other stores, but they have decent sale prices sometimes. Would give a 3 or 4 star rating if I didn't feel so sick right now!
Great selection and quality of items, great customer service, and fair prices. I highly recommend.
Food there is great with lots of variety. The service is also good. The issue however is how dirty it was underneath the shelves. I accidentally dropped my phone, which went under one of the shelves, and to my surprise it was EXTREMELY dirty under there.
Terrible flowers wrapping in this store. Absolutely not professional or they are too lazy to do little better. They just dump all the flowers in the plastic sheet and tie them together. Go other Sobeys store.
Lack of food in coolers. Must be due to changes being made. Should have gone to Zehrs
Some good sales, plus, they sell beer until 6 pm on Sundays!!!! Yay!!!
You need to teach the lady that has the early morning shift how to greet and treat your customer. To much attitude. Unpleasant and rude. And this is not the 1st or second time. Give the job to someone nice and kind. I will take my business somewhere else.
Good selection and open late
Not so much Sobeys fault but their patrons either refuse to follow or are blind to the direction arrows. 80 failure to obey. And what is their fault is prices jacked up.
Its a 24 hr sobeys!!! They do exist. This one exist cause it feeds the University of Waterloo Ontario. I went to this sobeys cause i was craving a salad.
Three friends and I (all graduate students in physics) went to this Sobeys at Bridgeport plaza around 2AM tonight. We each had our back packs. After we went inside, the cashier called us back and asked us to leave our bags at the entrance, which was surprising and offensive. In addition, we each had our laptops in our bags and didn't feel comfortable leaving them behind as they contain all our scientific research. When I complained to the cashier and asked him to refer me to his manager, he called the manager (a man named Steve) who appeared and told us in a rude way this was Sobeys policy to prevent theft. I told him that after so many times I have been to this Sobeys, this was the first time I encountered such a policy. I said I was surprised and curious to know why we were picked to leave our bags behind. Did we look like thieves? If they want to enforce this policy, as a matter of principle, they should ban all bags and backpacks to Sobeys as choosing certain people, based on factors such as age group or ethnicity to apply this policy to is "discriminatory" ! I said they can be sued for this, which caused this man to get extremely aggressive to the extent he shouted at me and came towards me in a threatening way and continued shouting while standing in very little distance from me. I am very glad for him, he didn't go further than that, otherwise I would have called the police. This behavior from this manager is unacceptable. Frankly, I feel powerless, and don't know how to deal with this issue other than putting it out there so that people know. I will personally never go to this Sobeys again. I am curious to know whether Sobeys wants to risk losing customers with managers this outrageously aggressive and policies that are so clearly discriminatory.
I visited only 2 or 3 Sobeys and nothing special to differ this one from others, regularly higher prices than theirs first neighbours Walmart, great choice of products, only a few on real discounts, not so many customers in store at every moment so I have an impression that they do not have sufficient daily turnover to stay in the business, but obviously I am somehow wrong.
Come here all the time since they're open 24/7. That alone is worth 5 stars.
So disappointing! Shopping today & there was woman without mask immediately behind me checking out, without any store personnel concerned - brought my concerns about non-masking & shoppers not following directional arrows to Customer Service, Floor Manager & Store Manager - all said in very uncaring tone "we don't have to enforce masking, sorry your feel that way but we won't act on your concerns." There are lots of other places to shop then here!
Love this grocery store always go there for my meats and veggies
Excellent floral shop! Service with a smile! Very knowledgeable!
Awesome how they are 24 hours - while hands down being one of the nicest grocery stores I've ever been in.
It's a Sobeys that's usually pretty full of students, open 24hrs
Last night I went to the store and witnessed a brown gentleman being told that he could not enter the store because of his backpack. The lady did not mention this to anyone else but this gentleman. This was the first time in my numerous years of living in Canada that I've come across such disgusting acts of racism. I would also like to applaud the gentleman for stating that he would rather go shop somewhere else than deal with this racism and prejudice. I'm more than happy to say that I will not be returning to your store and will be more than happy to pass this story along to my family in the Netherlands who work in the media. Shame on you Sobeys.
Has most things, reasonably clean, 24 hours is great. The Compliments brand is hit and miss.
Employees need to be more polite????especially in cake section...
Sobeys (as a chain, not just this store) is generally more expensive than other grocery stores. Although, they do have good sales. But it is open 24 hours. So, if you need bread, pickles or laundry detergent at 3:45am, this is your place!
Seems to have better prices than the sobeys near me . I don’t know if that’s correct but I think it is
Good produce, decent variety. Among the more expensive grocery stores
Return policy is very strange. Make sure you return things on the same day
Sobeys: The one stop shop to walk backwards down the covid aisles to a point.. Even the employees do it!!
Large grocery store. Very clean. They do have a beer and wine section. I found the store layout somewhat awkward, and had some trouble finding items, but I do admit that I've never shopped there before, so it was probably my …
I'm new to this area and found that this was the closest 24hr store to me. To my sirprise after getting off work at 11:30pm I no sooner got into the store and the were calling out that it was 11:50 and to proceed to the check out as the store was closing shortly. Someone forgot to let Google know that they had changed their hrs of operations.
Regular ol grocery store! Now they sell beer!
Little pricey but good selection of products
For groceries, Sobeys has Walmart 100% beat in selection. Considering it's next door to walmart, I always used to go there (and find bare shelves). Now I go to Sobeys and they have everything I need. I have also found the meats to be more tender here. I recommend if you have a choice, choose Sobeys.
Great service and the price of food when it's on sale is affordable
It's expensive but 24 hours . So if u hv the munchies it's worth few extra bucks
Best sobeys in town! They have the most friendly and helpful employees. It's clean and easy to find what you are looking for. Great selection of products. They carry a fair amount of local businesses and produce.
The pharmacist there is always smiling and extremely helpful On the other hand the customers are not following the directional arrows displayed on the ground
A grand Sobeys store at bridgeport plaza. Provides lot of options besides shopping for groceries at Sobeys. Provides huge parking place and is well connected by bus number 8 and bus number 7 (at King@ Bridgeport). It provides huge selection of herbs, cakes, cookies, kitchen ware, e.t.c.
